How Neora Is Empowering Women Through Entrepreneurship and Self-Care
In a world where women continue to face barriers and limitations, Neora, a leading skincare, wellness, hair care, and weight-loss enterprise, emerges as a beacon of hope, breaking through the glass ceiling and empowering women to shatter boundaries. Neora isn’t just a company but a movement that champions women's entrepreneurship and self-care. With a commitment to providing exceptional skincare and wellness products, Neora offers women the opportunity to thrive professionally and personally. By embracing the power of entrepreneurship, Neora equips women with the tools and support they need to create their own success stories.
Through its innovative business model, Neora empowers women to take control of their financial futures while prioritizing self-care and overall well-being. With Neora, women can break free from societal limitations, rise above the challenges, and pave their way toward a future filled with confidence, success, and fulfillment.
Neora’s Secret to Success: Female Intuition
When co-founder Amber Olson Rourke established Neora in 2011, she was in her mid-20s. At the time, various executives fulfilled distinct roles, particularly those in C-level positions. Consequently, she had to embark on a personal journey to develop confidence in her instincts as a woman and herself. She says, “There’s so many times where we were sitting at a table and coming up with an idea and someone who maybe had more experience than me or was more outspoken than me would go one way. And I would just feel in my gut that isn't the right path, but I would just let it go and say, ‘They must know better.’ And then I saw it play out time and time again, whenever I did that, it wasn't the right path.”
As someone who falls within the target demographic for Neora’s products, Olson Rourke has a unique perspective on what its market — mostly busy moms — would find useful and appealing in their daily lives. This perspective has been invaluable in providing guidance on the direction of Neora’s products and the company’s overall direction.
Olson Rourke says, “There will always be some people who don't value women as much, but I think on a whole, most people do. Most people will give you your seat at the table and your voice, but we have to learn to trust our own voice and to not assume that somebody else, just because they have more experience or they're a male or they have a bigger title, knows more than we do. We have to confidently show up at our seat at the table and act like we deserve that seat and have a confident voice in that seat. And when women do that, I do feel like they are heard and that they are really great leaders.”
Elevating Female Empowerment Through Entrepreneurship
Since a significant amount of Neora's offerings resonate strongly with women, it’s no surprise that most of its brand’s partner base is female. Olson Rourke says, “When done the right way, direct sales is one of the most empowering platforms for women because you can make it your own. And it's a true equal starting place knowing there's no glass ceiling, there's no one that gets to tell you how far you can and can't go.”
At Neora, the environment fosters collaboration rather than competition, uplifting one another, ensuring that everyone progresses together. This creates an ideal space for women from diverse backgrounds, age groups, and educational experiences to have something they can call their own. They can acquire new skills, receive encouragement, share their passions, and grow, regardless of their starting point in terms of education or socioeconomics.
Olson Rourke realizes that when you’re leading a large sales team consisting primarily of women, it's essential to understand their specific challenges. She says, “That's hard to 100% understand when you're not a woman, the unique fears of a woman and the struggle of being a working mom. So one of my biggest roles is to help move our brand partners past those roadblocks. I think I'm able to do that in a way that really resonates with them because it's those same roadblocks I’ve had to remove for myself and learn how to get past, and so I can share my own journey. I think it then really resonates with them and empowers them, that they can make those same choices.”

Eggs
This started as fave egg recipes and devolved into anything involving “egg” XD
Also not everyone’s on here cause some didn’t inspire anything really interesting. I can add if asked B)
-
Neora: Living in Arcaelys, the land of the elves, most of her experiences have been with sweet foods and dishes. Beyond cakes and patisserie, she rarely gets variety in egg dishes. She thus doesn’t often cook it for herself and prefers alternatives during breakfast like toast with jams and butters.
However, on her visits to her mother she has often been treated to highly savoury foods like egg curry, egg chatamari, and the highly popular spicy fried boiled eggs which has left her with a nostalgic craving each time she heads back home with her dad. Her dad has occasionally requested herbs in order to make it as the occasional treat for them both during special occasions as she grew up. One of the few Arcaelys raised elves who often eats savoury foods
-
Tireal: similar palette to his daughter Neora, if perhaps more elven inclined. Enjoys sweet egg dishes greatly and is less prepared for the spicy dishes his ex-wife prepared for him and their daughter, often being left red faced and wheeze-laughing through tears as his littol girl giggled at his silly face, smiling fond at the chuckles of his former partner
-
Evan: Scrambled, he likes to crack the eggs straight in the pan and toss the shells in one swift move, which has been upgraded to Taren the moss-fae-fox snatching em up midair to crunch on as excellent fertiliser for his fur, much to Evan’s amusement.
Evan himself will continue to shake and agitate the eggs until they’re fluffy with light crunchy bits in between, adding some thyme, salt and pepper to the mix. If he’s making breakfast meat with it, he’ll use the oil of that to fry said eggs in
-
Sia: Usually sunny side up. But doesn’t even actually like eggs all that much, and has had the existential crises thought of wondering if that’s because she’s technically a Mythical Bird
However that thought was quickly confuddled upon observing little Raspberry absolutely going to town on an egg, pecking and chipping it to smithereens, gulping it down faster than she could think, and then watching Raspberry fly off into the sunrise to build another nest. An experience which has left her with a whirlwind of thoughts about biology, life, magic, her own self, and what it all means in the grand scheme of things despite Fate not existing.
Drowns her sunny side up eggs in cinnamon now so she does not have to go through another existential rabbit hole while eating breakfast with everyone present. Can’t think about eggs when ya can’t taste em. Hehe…
-
Felix: An absolute feast at his theìa’s house, scrambled eggs with tomatoes fried in olive oil, oregano, basil and crumbled feta on top. Something he’d devoured in a hurry with his brother and cousins, before rushing out the door to play as his mama and theìa gossiped the hot day away, a full stomach warming his thin frame as dust swirled around his running feet.
Something he took so greatly for granted, as all kids do, and shed tears over when he ate again at his theìa’s house many, many years later. Felix’s soft spot is food, and the feeling of being finally satiated after a meal is a feeling he treasures dearly with every spoonful of delicious kayanas and his theìa fussing over him
-
Lucas: Despite appearances, Lucas is as much an excellent cook as his husband is, considering he learned much from him. His literal sea life diet of raw fish and unfortunate human flesh has long been put aside for more, palatable sushi and richer, livelier, Chosen prey.
As thus, he has learned to cook his meals with a patience that is almost reverent as he carefully lowers eggs in perfectly cooked sauce, poaching them to a perfect consistency. Uova All’inferno, Eggs in purgatory in Italian, and yes, he still enjoys gulping them whole with an amused irony at the name as he considers his own nature. But its rich and warm and perfectly done, and he savours every moment of it
-
Bruno: Frittata al tartufo, Uova All’inferno, Frittata di zucchine, Deviled eggs, etc etc etc. He’s had so many egg dishes he’s long lost count of all he’s tried, and all he’s made uniquely his own. With so many recipes, one would expect something fancy and rich and over the top to be his favourite, no?
Surprisingly, it’s the simple dish that captures his interest best here. A simple sunny side up, cooked very similar to Lucas’s own purgatory poached eggs, heaped with flavourful ingredients on the side true. But the simple egg yolk is allowed to shine as it practically melts over the rest of the dish, adding a rich flavouring only the basics sometimes can give, being a spotlight on their own.
-
Lewis: Easter eggs. As a baker and pattiserier he would often spent countless hours painting food safe dyes onto chocolate eggs, placing a basket up front of his shop for the kids to come and choose one out of.
Had an extra special batch he’d make just for Mairae and her kids, blushing greatly as he offered the sweet strawberry filled treats to the trio and sighing fondly as they left his shop, happy for the rest of the day (but no he definitely wasn’t in love. Definitely not. No no)
-
Flint and Rho: Both love a good hard boiled egg, with Flint chomping into it and eventually eating it straight whole as he grows bigger than the egg. Rho will take sweet little bites, and make happy smacks and coos in between each nibble
-
Yarrow: Who cares about what Sia and Evan’s deadbeat dad liked? But for lore sake it will be said, he never learned to properly cook. Mooched off his parents spoiling and complained constantly about everything put on his plate to them. “Praised” Mairae highly on her learning how to cook human dishes early in the relationship while simultaneously chipping at her self confidence with passively hurtful comments, knowing full well what he was doing.
Rotten fucking egg through and through

This particular composition has optional vertical and horizontal orientation, depending on where you want to use it. Thinking through the physics of Neora, I decided that she would not be much different from human husks, due to her experimental organic-made technology. ---- Based on the story GBTQ by @sigmalied Sig, thank you for the inspiration.

Neora stands dumbfounded next to Yancy, and one glance at his face confirms she wasn’t the only one
“~It seems we’ve been holding out on each other~” Evan sing-songs, the sarcasm only apparent to Bing from Evan’s familiar deadpan, even in that wonderful voice
The crowd notices nothing, a few chuckles ringing out. But a few were huffing, getting impatient
“Now boys, this isn’t a singing contest alone you know” the fae host’s rings out again, a slight edge to it
It makes Evan huff, swallowing a little at all the eyes staring up at them, countless upon countless upon-
-choking him as it laughed in his face-
He winces, swallowing hard as he looked at Bing and searched for words
Well. It was something to talk about
“Some days when I get out of bed”
his voice turns to song halfway through
“I feel this weight inside my head”
He feels the honesty pulling out before he can think twice about it
“(it's dragging me)”
the words echo from somewhere behind him
“All the way down straight to the floor”
his heart was thundering in his chest, feeling all that ravenous attention on him
“Feels like I'm drowning and-“
he falters, his heart in his throat
The music falters, being deprived of further words, and he’s searching Bing’s face while glancing at the crowd, trying to continue
Bing opens his mouth, and then does a little spin-reach out move to try and add some spice before singing.
"It's not the life I thought it would be." His chest flashes brightly with his logo.
"I don't wanna be me anymore." He looks stuck for a moment before pulling out a panic-last-effort hand wave- one that's somehow joined with the image of shadowy wisps trailing from his neck's bite mark.
"This heaviness that's pulling on me-" The wisps suddenly drop, taking Bing to the floor with them. His shock at it is clear and evident, a small shout of shock confirming it as unplanned- or maybe, just part of the show?
Bing clears his throat and throws a quick glance at Ferox, who gives him a thimbs-up with black nails as sharp as Bim's.
"Oooh, I can't make it go away."

How Neora’s Amber Olson Rourke Masters the Art of Business
Tumblr media
Amber Olson Rourke, co-founder of wellness and beauty enterprise Neora, has learned a lot in her 12 years at the helm. She started out as a 20-something woman in the boardroom, and the learning curve can be steep and often rocky — which is why she’s quick to impart what she’s gleaned climbing the corporate ladder.
Olson Rourke admits she doubted her own instincts and expertise at first. “There's so many times where we were sitting at a table and coming up with an idea and someone who maybe had more experience than me or was more outspoken than me would go one way,” she recalls. “I would just feel in my gut that isn't the right path, but I would just let it go and say, ’They must know better.’ Then I saw it play out time and time again, that whenever I did that, it wasn't the right path.”
The obstacles didn’t slow Olson Rourke down. In its first decade of operations, the company achieved over $2 billion in cumulative sales.
How Amber Olson Rourke Grabbed Her Seat at the Neora Table
How did Olson Rourke become the self-assured entrepreneur she is today? She explains, “Most people will give you your seat at the table, but we have to learn to trust our own voice and to not assume that somebody else, just because they have more experience or they're a male or they have a bigger title, knows more than we do. We have to confidently show up at our seat at the table and act like we deserve that seat and have a confident voice in that seat. And when women do that, I do feel like they are heard and that they are really great leaders.”
And she’s enthusiastic about sharing advice for other young women just setting out on an entrepreneurial journey.
“I'm really big about being intentional in the moment, and manage my schedule tightly and time-block everything, so I can show up present to wherever I'm at,” she says. “So if I'm here talking with you, that's what my 100% focus is on. If I am scheduled to be out doing stuff with my daughters that's what I'm doing. I feel like so many people try to do everything in one singular moment and let themselves get so distracted that they are not making an impact where they are.”
Masters of multitasking, take note. Offering your undivided attention can help you have it all, but you just can’t have it all at the same time. She continues, “It's not about the minutes. If you're judging everything based on counting a minute, how many minutes do I do this versus how many minutes do I do that? It's never going to be equal. I just try and bring the biggest impact I can to the minutes I have in front of the people that I'm in front of.”
There’s also the part of Olson Rourke that’s a working mom. She says, “There's so much about moms and working moms and mom guilt, and how do you balance it all?” It’s a struggle many face. She confidently adds, “I don't feel guilty for being where I'm supposed to be because that's where I'm supposed to be and that's what I'm supposed to do. And I think it starts with that attitude.”
Neora’s Mission
Neora’s mission and its motto is short and sweet: “Make People Better.” Olson Rourke explains, “Anything that we do, whether it's for our products, for our employees, for our independent brand partners, we want to help make them the best version of themselves.” She adds, “Anything that we create product-wise, our goal is to help make people's lives better, whether it's making their routine simpler, giving them better results so that they have better confidence, increasing their health and vitality.” She also believes that products can and should be streamlined. “Each of our products do the work of many to streamline your routine. They are all clean and performance-driven and they're all very innovative and ahead of mass-market trends.”
For those looking to start their own business, Olson Rourke has more words of hard-earned wisdom. “Be really clear on who you're trying to serve. Who are you trying to help? What are their issues? What are the ways in which you could solve those issues? Surround yourself with really smart people and trust your gut always.”
She also stresses the importance of mentors. “We believe really deeply in mentorship. No one can see all of their blind spots or ask themselves the right questions to unlock what they need to work through.” Formal and informal mentorship can do wonders to help guide you through business. She adds, “Having somebody who you trust and who's willing to give you effective feedback is really crucial.”
It’s challenging to be successful in business alone. Olson Rourke reveals, “No one has all the answers. Being able to develop relationships with mentors who have different strengths and different skill sets, is really critical to becoming your most effective in your role.”
As any successful businessperson will tell you, it’s also crucial to pay attention to what the future of the global market looks like. “We see that a lot of the changing dynamics on how people are shopping and how people are working really sets the stage for what we do. People more and more are wanting the convenience of shopping online, but also at the same time, want good personalized customer service.” Neora is prepped and ready for the change. “That’s where we shine,” Olson Rourke beams. “That concierge level service of someone providing you how you're going to get the best value, how you're going to get the best results, making sure that they're walking you through your health and wellness journey.”
Although there’s no crystal ball to tell the future for Amber Olson Rourke, her success is evident and it’s a safe bet her future is bright.

Must Visit these Hill stations near kolkata to visit in September
Kolkata, West Bengal’s dynamic metropolis, is rich in history, culture, and architecture. However, when the heat and humidity of September overwhelm the people, a cool refuge is required. Though Kolkata does not have any hill stations, there are many gorgeous escapes within a few hours of the city. Here are some of the best Hill stations near kolkata to visit in September.
List of best Hill stations near kolkata to visit in September
1. Darjeeling, The Queen of the Hills
