Last week there was a robbery at Nesbyen, which is 51 km from where I live. An elderly couple got robbed for all their money and portable valuables as they sat on their porch.

The police didn’t show up before 29 hours after the event.

One hour after they showed up, the police dropped the case. On the grounds of having no evidence.

Honestly, the police just don’t work. If the store I work at gets robbed, then protocol dictates that I have to close the store (and keep the witnesses) on hand until they get there… but honestly that will be a stretch for us.

So yeah.

Kveld i Nesbyen

Jeg har ikke vært så aktiv i det siste, men må vel ta meg litt sammen nå. Forleden dag var jeg en tur i Nesbyen og der begynte det å bli riktig vinter. Snø og litt kulde. Det er trivelig. Den vinteren vi har her sørpå er ofte bare slaps og isete veier.

Nesbyen er visst et sted som er “befolket” hele året. jeg bodde på Thoen Hotell og eieren der kunne fortelle om travle dager det meste av året.…

Dag 15 - 3 juli

Vandaag naar Bromma bij Nesbyen via route 51 door het Jotunheimen nationaal park. Weer sneeuw op de bergen gezien en een heel wijdse hoogvlakte waarbij gewaarschuwd werd voor overstekende rendieren. Jammergenoeg niet zo'n dier gezien. We overnachten in een hotel/kro. Onderweg in Fagernes tijdens het opladen van de auto in een kro koffie en gebak gehad als lunch.

Dichtbij Bromma was er de Gardnos meteorietenkrater. Hier tickets gekocht. Er was niet veel meer van te zien. Wel een mooi boekje hierover ontvangen. Onderweg weer mooie bloemen/planten gezien.

Forsikringsselskapene betalte ut omtrent 650 millioner kroner for skader forårsaket av uvær i 2018. Høstflommen i Oppland og på Vestlandet var den dyreste hendelsen.

– Selv om 2018 ikke ble noe rekordår når det gjelder naturskader ser vi en klar tendens til økende skadeomfang på grunn av klimaendringene, sier konsernsjef Helge Leiro Baastad i Gjensidige.

Den dyreste værhendelsen i 2018 var høstflommen i Oppland og på Vestlandet, som antagelig kostet nær 150 millioner kroner. Høststormen Helene, som først og fremst rammet Vestlandet og Sørlandet, kostet omtrent 100 millioner.

Til sammen betalte forsikringsselskapene ut omtrent 650 millioner kroner for skader som skyldtes storm, flom og skred i 2018, ifølge beregninger Gjensidige har gjort. I det dyreste året det finnes statistikk for – 2011 – ble det til sammenligning utbetalt 2,9 milliarder kroner, regnet i dagens pengeverdi.

Lite uvær, men mye vær

Selv om det ikke ble mange kostbare naturskader i 2018, vil ikke året bli husket med udelt glede i bygningsskader som følge av mye snø på taket. Den lange og tørre sommeren forårsaket store skader på avlinger i landbruket.

-Vi har opplevd mye uvanlig vær i 2018, og dette føyer seg inn i et mønster som har blitt stadig tydeligere de siste årene, sier Baastad.

Dyre stormer

Det dyreste uværsåret i moderne tid var 2011, da vinterstormene Dagmar og Berit forårsaket mer enn 25.000 skader. Erstatninger knyttet til uvær det året beløp seg til 2,9 milliarder kroner i dagens pengeverdi. På andreplass kommer 1992, med skader for 2,2 milliarder 2018-kroner. Også da var det storm og stormflo som utløste de fleste skadene. Av de 10 dyreste uværsårene siden 1980 har 7 kommet etter 2010.

Hallingdal Museum Nesbyen (formerly Hallingdal Folkemuseum) is an open-air museum at Nesbyen within Nes in Buskerud, Hallingdal Museum in Nesbyen, founded in 1899 as Hallingdal Folkemuseum, was among the first open-air museums in Norway. The former district-museum is now part of Hallingdal Museum, a coordinating entity for the six local museums in Hallingdal. The museum has 30 historic buildings and some 30,000 artifacts from the region of Hallingdal. The museum consists of several branches located in different municipalities: Dagali Museum (Hol municipality), Gol Bygdetun (Gol Municipality), Hemsedal Bygdetun (Hemsedal municipality), Hol Bygdemuseum (Hol municipality) and Ål Bygdamuseum (Al Municipality), as well as the former mountain farm Dokken Fjellgard at Sudndalen in Hol. All museum departments in Hallingdal have a main emphasis on the farm culture of the 17th and 19th century. Buildings and objects have been collected throughout Hallingdal to represent different time periods. Staveloftet, a medieval storehouse from mid 1300s, is the oldest in the collection. More of the houses have rose painted decoration and fine wood carvings.The collection reflects life in rural Norwegian settlements in the 17th and 18th Century. Eilif Peterssen, drawings. Magne Galaaen, paintings. DAGALI MUSEUM Dagali Museum is located in the middle of the Dagali mountain village. Here are the buildings and objects from Dagali, Skurdalen, Tunhovd and Uvdal. Most of them are in Numedal tradition, since Dagali until 1944 belonged to the municipality of Uvdal. The museum is built as an old farmhouse with nine different farm buildings from Dagali, mostly from the 1700s and 1800s. Dagali Museum was originally a private collection. Hallingdal Museum Nesbyen is located in the extension of the "Old Nes". Today, a living environment, but also a well-preserved part of Nesbyen's history as a center for the government of Hallingdal. HEMSEDAL BUILDING Bygdatunet Upper Løkji is one of the oldest gardening in Hemsedal. It probably has been our gard on this side of the people's migration time.
