Mizuki sighed deeply. The time for her departure was at hand. Her time home had not seem long enough.

"Mizuki, you look upset." Edmont said, noticing her lamenting on the sofa.

Edmont patted her shoulder "I don't know that many that would willing fight eikons and dragons and venture to the world's end." He smiled at her warmly "you are far stronger than you give yourself credit for," he added "but- I would be lying if I said I wouldn't prefer you stay home a little longer too."

Mizuki's eyes welled up and she hugged Edmont tightly. "And I have to leave Aymeric again...what an awful wife I am-"

"Aymeric understands. He'll be rather jealous at your new adventure, across the seas at the new world." Edmont said, "he will not be alone. He will have us for company.. though I dare say he would prefer yours." he chuckled.

"I don't even know how long I shall be away for!"

"And we shall still be here when you return with open arms."

Mizuki cried into his chest "I will make you proud-"

"you already have." he hugged her back "Be safe my dear and I look forward to your tales when you return."

"I shall make sure to bring back plenty of gifts too!"

She left her family home with a heavy heart unsure when she would set foot back in its cosy welcoming walls.

And then she headed to the congregation. She hadn't had chance to see Aymeric this morning and the call had come through so suddenly.

*for interested parties and also for me because I like talking about my projects: I'm holding fingering weight yarn triple, one of the strands is undyed merino/nylon/silver tinsel, and the other two strands are 100% wool self-striping that shift between grey, white, and purple. They're out of phase so I'm getting some pretty fun striping and pooling that doesnt look completely stupid. The shoulder is contiguous so it has a set in look without any sewing or short rows and I did a folded cuff on the sleeve so the stockinette lies flat.
