okay before I lose my thought (MASSIVE Rise of the Beasts spoilers re: Unicron)
in my opinion rotb handled Unicron perfectly.
when I first watched the full trailer & saw Unicron my second thought was "oh no" (my first being "YOOOOOO") because in the bumblebee-rotb timeline it seemed extremely early to be involving him. I went into the movie almost resigning myself to the thought that it would end with Unicron being destroyed & never seen again, because he was advertised as the main Big Bad.
but the truth is, Scourge was the main Big Bad. and while Unicron made several appearances and had more than one line, the primary thing he did was loom over the narrative like the slow approach of death - he did more than haunting the narrative, I think, but aside from his interactions with the Terrorcons and his arrival at the final scene, he was largely uninvolved in the main conflict, and was in the end defeated momentarily rather than destroyed.
what we did see of him was always displays of power: the destruction of the Maximals' homeworld, his ability to supply the battlefield with endless Terrorcon footsoldiers, his mindscape-meeting with Scourge wherein he tortured Scourge for failing him from Primus knows how far away. hell, even Scourge, Battletrap, and Nightbird themselves were living proof of Unicron's power - ruthless, near-invincible supersoldiers who've killed enough Cybertronians and Cybertronian-adjacent lifeforms to steal and wear their badges like a bounty hunter collects trophies. on-screen all of this is done through Unicron's power, the extension of his will - and not, notably, by Unicron himself.
this wasn't Unicron's moment to shine, only to be destroyed so early in the narrative.
this was the moment that painted a target on Earth, and on Optimus Prime. this was the moment that established how Unicron is accustomed to taking thralls from other worlds while also killing off the ones he already had, laying the potential groundwork for Galvatron or even Sideways. this was the moment that showed off just how powerful Unicron and his allies are without cramming it into the first fifteen minutes of another movie down the line, and when he appears again we'll already know just how fucked the protagonists are.
this was the setup to Unicron's moment to shine. though I'd hoped Unicron would get more screentime, rotb ultimately handled Unicron with the severity he deserves; for that, it was perfect.
sidenote: I got very big "then perish" vibes at the end of the movie, when Unicron said smth like "think about this, Prime. I could give you anything you want." and Optimus responded with "then DIE!!". it was dramatic in the moment but remembering it got me a good laugh

next gen (2018) is the best movie ever for a lot of reasons but the biggest, most integral one that i've never seen anybody actually address before, is that it is fundamentally a story about being a very young child who is suffering so much emotional pain and the experience of that pain not being taken seriously by anyone around you. mai's anger issues and crushing loneliness are absolutely integral to any reading of the story's themes, and not only is her pain a driving force, but it is validated by the narrative. the story doesn't mock her for having "daddy issues," she's not just a whiny or dramatic little girl; she is ABSOLUTELY justified in feeling lonely and hopelessly angry, and the movie goes out of its way to show you things from HER perspective. and at the end, the "lesson" she had to learn wasn't that she was WRONG about how she viewed her mother and her situation - in fact, her MOM is the one who has to learn that she was mistreating her daughter and hurting her.
the movie also takes so much care to honestly and realistically show how that loneliness can manifest in the most destructive of ways - mai is ALLOWED to be angry, she is allowed to be rude and abrasive and destructive, and while it is portrayed as a problem and something that needs to be addressed, the narrative never BLAMES her for it - because she is a child reacting in a real, emotional, raw, human way to her trauma and pain.
what i'm trying to say is i have never seen a film before that takes a child's feelings of misery as something so valid. the narrative NEVER condescends to her character, it never comes across as patronizing. and the movie isn't about having to forgive the people who hurt you, but instead it's about the importance of not letting that pain stop you from making NEW memories and better relationships. it's so real and RAW and full of love and ultimately, it is about how even one person looking at you and saying "i see your pain, and i'm not going anywhere" and meaning it can be enough to save you.

anyways update im going insane over lego monkie kid i thought it would be a fun time but i did not expect some of the rawest scenes ever from a lego show selling you $100+ sets
this show deserves the world please watch it
#warning like 20+ tags here that i do want to move#sucks that actually watching the show legally is a pain with the limitied and random options there are#if your wondering it's basically a journey to the west next gen sequel and the way they build on the world is pretty neeto#but it seems to check out for most people so yeah#but bro legged-os show needs support#like i watched it because the artstyle and animation was really good and i knew the basic plot of book well enough#somehow the animation is better than i expected and contantly really good and nice to look at even in the chill eps#but then i also ended up really liking all the characters and would honestly enjoy a character focused ep on all of them#like its rare for me to hate a character#but the fact that i really love all of the main cast and a lot of the supporting is pretty rare#the way they mirror the prev squad in the og book is pretty interesting since its like on two sides of the chara development spectrum#and i would be fine if it was exclusively slice of life stuff but the plot also ended up being really good#like the s3 finale specials are so good and climactic with a banger of a villain and some of the coolest moments of the show#and somehow s4 seems to be building to something that might even surpass it in some areas#the emotional moments especially later on hit hard too#like there are way too many times where this show hits so hard and can be so raw with like one line or one scene#like that one s3 ep where they reverse exorcise a nuke into someone and they have a big 'reasons you suck' speech with cool visuals? banger#the s3 finale is all around cool but that final convo with the antagonist is so striking that s4 quotes it multiple times#s4e7 aka ''i am the shadow the true self'' my beloved it has everything#cool fight scenes great emotional character moments that stick in your mind and a soundtrack that wrap it all in a bow#even some smaller episodes like one where they normal exorsise a gramdpa has really nice moments that cover stuff like grief and moving on#because every child(?) protagonist in a kids show is destined by fate to become insanely traumatized by the end of the show#yes these examples are more recent but thats because recency bias and the Cerberus syndrome it gets later down the line#thats a whole tag essay to say that this show is so good and deserves as many seasons as it needs#i would buy a set but every modern lego set that i want is over $100 and i cant do that#i could ramlble about it so so much more but thats the gist of it go watch it#alttalks

I think with the new DLC drop we can pretty much confirm there’s gonna be a Gen 5 remake 👀
-The story takes place at Blueberry Academy, which is in Unova
-Most if not all of the Gen 5 Pokemon are available to catch now with the expanded Pokedex, which makes it an easy transfer back and forth from HOME to the remakes
-Also there’s a specific separate event to catch Meloetta, who is a Gen 5 mythical 🤔
-This probably has to do more with the fact that Blueberry Academy is in Unova, but a lot of the main battle themes in The Indigo Disk have some sort of Gen 5 motif in their soundtracks somewhere
-Castelia City is available as a playable soundtrack in the League Club room!!
-ALSO you can change the club room’s theme to a BW themed one (the monochrome theme). There’s tons of references around the room of Unova locations, like White Forest, Black City, and the ferris wheel in Nimbasa!
-The secret boss of Blueberry Academy (SPOILERS) is Cyrano, who gives you a SHINY BLITZLE when you beat him
If we don’t get a Gen 5 remake within the next year I will be VERY shocked bc they are NOT being subtle about it. I for one have been waiting for this for years, they’d better not fuck it up I s2g

Princess Iris of Pop
Tumblr media
"...hi..."
Parents: Queen Poppy and King Branch
Siblings: Choco (Elder Sister), Vanilla (Elder Sister), Strawberry (Elder Sister), Apple (Elder Brother), Oran (Elder Brother), Lemon (Elder Brother), Lime (Elder Brother), Blueberry (Elder Brother), Grape (Elder Sibling)
Age: 13
Pronouns: She/Her
Sexuality: Lesbian
Genre: Pop
Voice Claim: Tori Kelly
The youngest child of Poppy and Branch. Quiet, reserved, but extremely smart, Iris is the most unique of all her siblings, in both appearance and abilities as a Troll.
Iris was born with ties to ancient magic, magic only found in The Depths. She has the ability to heal most wounds and cure many illness by channeling a magical energy through her paws. No one knows how she got this ability, but many think it's tied to her unique appearance.
Despite her rare powers, Iris is quite shy and extremely bashful about it, not liking the attention it gets her. She's often found hiding behind Branch in public, clinging to his robes as he goes about his day. Only in the presence of her family does Iris open up a bit more.
When with family, Iris shows her more open side. She's quiet sarcastic and witty like her father, and will casually roast her older siblings at the drop of a hat.
Iris is a Pop Troll through and through, and has one of the most beautiful voices of her family. She can often be found out in the gardens, singing to herself.
Iris currently resides in Trollstopia alongside her family.
Fun Facts!
- Iris' actually inherents her appearance from her great grandmother, Prism, wife of Rosiepuff. But since there are no pictures or records of her, no one is aware of this connection.
- Iris hatched on the exact same day as her cousin, Finley, son of JD. The two are very close, and can often be found sitting in the gardens, chatting away.
- Iris has an acute sense of how other Trolls are feeling. If you're hurt, either physically or emotionally, she's just able to tell. When her siblings are feeling down, she'll often just walk up to them and hug them, no words needed.
- Iris loves embroidery. Knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, sewing, you name it. She can even weave tapestry's, and has several of her works hanging around their home.
And at long last, the last of the Broppy kids!! Iris was my favorite to design, and of all the kids she had the BIGGEST design overhaul. Originally, Iris was sort of the "indigo" Troll to match the rainbow theme I had going (naming her after the Iris flower), but I wasn't really feeling her design, so I flipped it on its head and made her a rainbow! She kept her name, now referencing the Goddess of The Rainbow in Greek Mythology.
And Iris has magic! Iris is definitely one of the "main protagonists" of the next gen if you will. She's not the only one with magic either! Her fellow magic users will be introduced soon~ and how the magic works will be explained later down the line
But I hope y'all liked the Broppy kids! The big family portrait will be posted tomorrow (it was such a pain to make why did I give them so many kids hdbdbdhdbbd)
Voice Example: Hallelujah (Tori Kelly)

fuck professionalism and neutrality, i wanna hear alllllllll of your opinions!
okay, you've convinced me!
no, that didn't take much, bc i am, in fact, not professional or neutral at all! i am loud and annoying, so here we go!
musically, soar is my favourite. it just hits all the right spots for me and builds flawlessly. i just can't get enough of it and it really was a 'fall-in-love-at-first-listen' for me. i've had it on loop since the day it was released and there isn't a single section of the piece that i don't absolutely adore. i think it takes care of all its elements so well and transitions between sections beautifully. just truly 11/10, like i can't express how hard this score goes. blake neely truly outdid himself on this one. i have to mention how much i love the rest of the score for the show too, not just the main theme. i know that's not the topic of the poll, but i think he did a fantastic job and some of the scoring for the flight scenes genuinely raised my heart rate up high enough that my apple watch had to send me three warnings whilst i watched episode 5. but yeah, just a perfect score imo! and if i were being completely honest, in a very unbiased way, my outright favourite.
i do have a nostalgia bias for the band of brothers theme though, and i do think it's absolutely gorgeous and has a delicacy to it that the others don't. it gently prises open your rib cage and wraps its hand tenderly around your heart, squeezing just enough for a single tear drop to roll down your cheek. there's something inexplicably sad about it, but because of that tiny silver lining of hope that runs through every note as well, you can't quite pinpoint why you're sad. it's like you've had your memories erased, but you know you lost something more than just that, that something overwhelmingly sad happened to you, but you just don't know what. it builds so gently as well, and then finally, it soars just for a second right at the end, before landing us back down on the ground again ever so lightly.
so, those two are generally my two favourites, i would say, but as someone in the notes called out, i will admit that had i listened to both of them fresh for the first time today, i would feel more drawn to soar, because it's the kind of piece i really gravitate toward. whilst band of brothers is a show that i've held pretty dearly in my heart for about a decade now, so it has an element of familiarity, that comes from loving something for so long, helping it out.
someone else in the notes of the poll made a great point about gen kill's use of music (or lack of it) being a character in itself, and i thoroughly agree with them and think gen kill's handling of sound was spot on. it's whole thing is next-level-gritty-realism and it wouldn't have been as impactful, or successful, if they'd done it any other way when it came to sound design.
plus, ray providing the soundtrack is just top television!
honor is somber but also light in a way, so it doesn't overpower you too much, i prefer the beginning and middle sections, as the end builds into a more standard patriotic sounding piece (still beautiful but i find myself enjoying the earlier section much, much more). but yeah, it's still a favourite to listen to, i just don't tend to feel as drawn towards it as much as the other two.
i'll stop rambling now but i could go on all day about how much i love soar like i can't seem to shut up about it?
there's no right answer tbf like all these scores are great but soar kind of is the right answer really, for me at least.
– ask is in reference to this poll

Never Gonna Give Up Mahjong
Season 3 Featured on: 2018.UnregisteredHyperCam2.FullAlbum.XviD.KfaD.320kbps[CDRip]
Ripped by The Duane
youtube
For as much of a perceived SiIvaGunner loremaster as I may appear to be, I've expressed a few times that there are still several areas of the channel's legacy that I know very little about. Last month I talked about my unfamiliarity with the Touhou series despite its prominence and influence on the channel with rips like Imperial Touwer and Beautiful! ~ Curveball of Sean Kingston, and beyond that there's stuff like waterwraith pokos, a requested rip that opened me up to something I had...genuinely no idea about beforehand. Of these surprising new worlds I've been introduced to though, one thing truly shocked me more than any other - Why the Fuck do video games based on Mahjong just consistently have bangers?
Back way long ago during "Voiceless Week", I was requested to cover one of the song's arrangements called voiceless - simple ds series vol. 01 - the mahjong (¥1480). It was far from the first song ripped from its game, and it was a series of rips I was well aware existed, yet never gave any time - what could be so special about some DS Mahjong game music? As it turned out, the game just had an inherently super compelling, distinct, and flat-out BANGING sound to it, that just drew tons of rippers toward making things with its instrumentation. It reminded me of all the rips I'd already heard using the instrumentation of Pokémon's 4th-gen games, like yesterday's Bidoof's Big Band, yet now applied to a game I had next to no familiarity with.
Turns out, there's an entire small sub-community of Mahjong game fans out there, and that Mahjong games having fantastic soundtracks is far more common than I'd been led to believe. Never Gonna Give Up Mahjong is ripping a track from a *different* Nintendo DS Mahjong game, yet its sound is incredibly distinctive from the one I just described whilst still sounding fantastic. The rip's melody swap to Never Gonna Give You Up is a relatively subtle change all things considered, as the track's original percussion and beat is still being used, yet that one added accent just brings out the excellence of those pre-existing elements so much more. It gives the played out Rick Astley internet classic a whole new life, a funky, peppy feel to it, recognizable yet so different in tone.
Compared to many of the other Hypercam-themed rips such as YACKER TOILET, it doesn't feel like the rip is exactly celebrating or relishing in its original track's cheesiness, or to make you nostalgic for an older period of internet life. Its hard to describe, but Never Gonna Give Up Mahjong works so well for me specifically because I'd never gotten anywhere close to hearing its original source material, making this rip simply feel like a stylish, out-there reimagining of Never Gonna Give You Up, one that reminds you of how good the tune is. And even now that I know where that original piece came from, now that I KNOW that "Mahjong Bangers" is a very real thing, I still believe The Duane did a bang-up job making a melody swap this theoretically simple truly feel...sparkly. And just like Beautiful! ~ Curveball of Sean Kingston, its the underappreciated gems like this that so easily slip between the cracks, that I end up really cherishing.

kpop groups class 1-a listen to because i said so
here are some of my headcanons detailing what kpop groups some of the 1-a students would listen too!!
also i’m terribly sorry for the inactiveness. got diagnosed with autism and dropped out of uni (i’m so much happier now) and am going to pursue my art dreams.
masterlist
Tumblr media
: ̗̀➛ kyoka jirou
jirou loves day6! prefers k-rock over k-pop but still knows all the best hits of each year. her expert knowledge mainly focuses on second generation groups. it’s as if she’s been spending years preparing for a pop quiz on this. other artists she likes include the rose, xdinary heroes and rolling quartz. she loves boy groups and girl groups equally.
: ̗̀➛ tenya iida
this man is a stan of snsd. tenya is a very cultured man and generally gives me second gen stan vibes. he truly believes ‘into the new world’ changed the trajectory of his life and had the biggest cultural impact of any piece of media in this century. tenya will write an essay arguing this. he also appreciates exo and shinee! hates superjunior (as he should) but hearing lucifer gets his hips shaking side to side.
: ̗̀➛ momo yaoyorozu
momo loves classical and instrumental music (her spotify wrapped is just studio ghibli soundtracks) but she can appreciate the occasional k-pop song. she loves female soloists in particular! think iu, taeyeon, chungha, ailee… she knows how to appreciate beautiful female vocals. also has a strong affinity for k-drama soundtracks. the ones with special idol features - you know what i’m talking about. slow, romantic ballads. shows jirou all her favourite ones (jirou thinks they’r kind of boring but listens just for her girlfriend).
: ̗̀➛ izuku midoriya
izuku loves bts because of the messages in their songs. he finds their story so inspiring. izuku relates to the fact that they built up their legacy from the ground up with nothing but hard work, and that they were ignored for so long. definitely listens to spring day and young forever when he is sad and just sobs (just like me fr). if you knock on his dorm and ask if he’s okay, he will squeak out a response insisting he’s fine. but you can still hear him sobbing into the pillow during the pauses before the next queued songs play. oh and izuku’s bias is namjoon because of how well spoken and intellectual he is, but he admires all members for their passion. oh and and ochako introduced him to twice!! he loves how cheerful their music is.
: ̗̀➛ ochaco uraraka
now, uraraka has devoted her life to twice. she is a diehard twice fan. but she is poor and her only album was a gift from kirishima and she treasures it. her favourite era was dance the night away and her bias is jihyo (this is so intellectual of her). carries a photocard in her phone case. class 1-a surprise ochako with tickets to see them live on one of her birthdays (they piled up all their money) and she just started floating towards the ceiling in shock. then she cried there
: ̗̀➛ mina ashido
mina is in love with ateez!! she loves to learn their dances and appreciates their high energy. also thinks they are the most beautiful men to grace this earth (this is facts). her bias is yeosang. she knows every choreo and it always looks incredible. for school festivals, mina will gather some of her classmates and force them to learn complicated dance choreo to perform in front of everyone. this year it was o.o by nmixx.
: ̗̀➛ shouto todoroki
shouto undoubtedly listens to loona and is not afraid of admitting it. it’s like the patrick bateman meme - he walks with zero emotion but hi high is blasting in his headphones. however does not know their names, or at least he cannot put name to face. but yes he knows their whole discography. bought an album once and he was shocked at how many inclusions there were (he was expecting just a cd). eventually discovers the loona universe and fan theories and for a week straight it was all shouto spoke to his friends about. they got so annoyed they blocked the word loona from their social medias temporarily so it wouldn’t set him off on a spiral.
: ̗̀➛ katsuki bakugo
hmm.. katsuki loves dreamcatcher. this man has got superior taste. i feel like katsuki would mainly listen to rock music and hip-hop. so other artists he may appreciate are dean, dpr live and epik high. but sometimes you can hear red velvet coming from his dorm and if you question him about it he will scream at you (if it plays when katsu is drunk you can even catch at a peek at him doing the choreo when he thinks no one is looking).
: ̗̀➛ eijiro kirishima
also a cultured man as kirishima is a fan of twice. he joins the girls when they had ‘girly’ sleepovers and learns the dances from them (this headcanon applies to all their ‘girls night’ sleepovers. kiri makes them so much fun). this is especially fun during award shows, where they all gather around a laptop, eyes wide and glossy as they wait for their favourite groups to hopefully be announced as winners. definitely films the dances on tiktok and also shows them to katsuki later. based on mina’s recommendation, he would probably listen to ateez too!
: ̗̀➛ denki kaminari
i sense a neverland. this man is obsessed with (g)-idle. denki has a crush on soyeon (he is me). denki cried when soojin left (i did too) but will take this to his grave. also loves stayc. he most certainly owns a few albums. he prefers girl groups over boy groups because he is a bit of a perv (sorry denki i love you!!). but also because denki believes girl groups have superior music. his most played song of all time is tell me by the wonder girls.

Nightfall
Media: The Mandalorian
Rating: Gen.
Word Count: 1869
Warnings: Order 66, and anything that might entail
Art Credit: Matt Allsop on Twitter
Summary: What circumstances could have compelled Grogu to heal someone for the first time?
The song “Ella’s Mission” from the Cowboys & Aliens soundtrack by Harry Gregson-Williams sets the tone for Order 66.
Note: I generally don’t label any fics I post with tags like angst/fluff/etc. because I don’t want to dictate what feeling or outcome the reader should experience. Summaries, warnings, and introductions should provide sufficient context for any story.
Tumblr media
Laserfire and smoke filled the air, the scent of blood accompanying turmoil in the Force the likes of which he had never seen in his young life. Bodies fell around him— masters, students, his family — as those they considered allies and friends cut through their ranks and decimated the Temple.
Grogu saw the wraith of a man they called Friend and Teacher stalk through the halls that night, a sky blue blade reflected in his sickly golden eyes.
All around him were cries of pain and shadows of death, so many lives returned to the Force in a matter of moments as they scrambled to defend one another and flee to safety. His ears were filled with the screams and echoes of masters killed without quarter, entire sections of the temple crumbling or falling to the tile floor. The clones advanced as one, lethal and efficient, their precision deadly as they struck down the Jedi.
Grogu had always been too small to keep up with most. He had always been carried by others or transported in the cradle, but the cradle had been destroyed and he now found himself wrapped in a red blanket and carried in the arms of a boy only fourteen and terrified as they raced with other children through the halls to the lift. If they could make it to the landing pad, if they could bypass the next wave of troopers, there may be a transport that could—
The older padawan cried out in pain, stumbling to the floor as he was struck in the back by a laser bolt. Grogu tumbled from his friend’s arms to the cold, unforgiving floor with a jolt, terror seizing his heart. He looked back to see five clones and one of the commanders now advancing on the racing padawans, and he squeezed his eyes shut in anticipation of the pain he knew would follow.
A shadow passed over him, and the unmistakable hum of a lightsaber ignited alongside the flash of green illuminating the darkened hall. Grogu looked up to see a figure wreathed in brown step forward and repel the laser bolts with a parry of his blade, advancing swiftly as he cut through the chaos and felled the turncoats with swift, decisive strokes.
Master Kelleran Beq, the Sabered Hand, had appeared from the adjoining hall and forced back the advancing guard without a hitch in his stride. His lightsaber twisted and spun in a masterful display of skill, deflecting every shot and pushing the offensive back as the older children farther behind them made their escape. He wove between the fiery laser bolts, quick and sure-footed, his saber arcing through the air and jutting between enemy combatants.
As the last clone fell, Master Kelleran turned and strode back to Grogu and the fallen padawan. His dark face was serious but determined as he knelt, and Grogu found himself already lifting his arms as Beq gathered him up and secured him to his side.
“I’ve got you, child,” Master Kelleran said firmly. “We’re going to get out of here.”
Beq cast a sorrowful look at the still face of the second padawan. He breathed a sigh, stroking the boy’s hair back and resting his hand on his head. Acknowledging yet another tragedy but ever aware of their need to move, he stood and continued forward, dark eyes darting about the halls as Grogu clung to him.
Master Kelleran’s heartbeat was steady against Grogu’s ear, and he focused on that instead of the cries of their family and the destruction around them. It wasn’t until Beq came to a stop that the boy opened his eyes, terror seizing him anew.
A cadre of clones had turned the corner at the mouth of the balcony. Their commander raised his hand and directed their fire the same moment Master Kelleran’s saber sprang to life again. To their left was the assembly hall leading further into the temple and the bloodshed beyond. To the right were the arched windows overlooking the Coruscant skyscape. Beq deftly redirected the laserfire, but as the clones advanced they stepped over the bodies of their fellow soldiers, their aim never wavering as they pushed him back. Despite the steady thrum of Master Kelleran’s heart, Grogu could feel the exertion of every swing, the night already drawing long.
As the clones backed them into a corner, Kelleran Beq steeled his mind and twisted his saber back, under, and up into a blast of the Force that rattled the pillars of the temple and toppled the clones like a tidal wave. He curled his arm protectively around Grogu and murmured in his ear:
“Hold onto me.”
Kelleran turned and darted widthwise across the vaulted room towards the windows as the clones regained their footing and began to fire again. He raced to the archway, momentum carrying him up onto the ledge, and he leapt.
Grogu isn’t sure where they are. The lights are dim and he thinks it may be a starship, but he hasn’t been on many in his short life and the hum of machinery is not a familiar one.
Most of their escape was a blur, and most of it was spent with his face buried in the robes of his teacher as they raced through the Coruscanti underbelly to make their escape. Master Kelleran had leapt without hesitation from the window of the tower, holding Grogu close as they descended on rushing wind to the city below. He was jostled by movement when Master Kelleran began to run, cutting through alleys and evading troopers. Grogu thinks there were murmurs exchanged with the Jedi at some point, but he didn’t understand them and didn’t want to see what might happen if they remained for too long.
Now they are alone though, and Grogu blearily rubs his eyes and sits up. Master Kelleran is across from him in the hold of this small ship, and Grogu can sense two other lifeforms above them. One is a pilot in the cockpit, he thinks, and the other is seated at a terminal. The ship is calm. Master Kelleran is the only one here with him, and he is meditating.
Grogu rubs his face against the dark brown fabric he thinks may be Master Kelleran’s outer robe. It’s singed in places, the acrid smell of smoke lingering even now. Flickers of pain from the temple echo in his ears, lights flashing behind his closed eyes. It’s difficult to breathe.
Grogu comes up out of the makeshift blanket he was cocooned in, carefully maneuvering to the edge and dropping over the side of the cot recessed into the wall. The durasteel floor is cold against his feet, and Master Kelleran is already extending his hand when he reaches him. He welcomes Grogu into his lap and helps him get comfortable; his countenance is one of somber reserve but Grogu can feel the waves of sorrow and grief ebbing from his heart like a tide. It feels as though a hurricane had swept up his own heart in the surge of devastation at the temple, but he finds solace in Master Kelleran’s sure embrace and warm hands. A harbor in the storm.
As Grogu begins to drift off again, something nags at his mind like a mosquito. The Jedi’s heartbeat is strong, but there’s something disrupting the flow of his pulse, almost like a loose thread in a tapestry. Grogu blinks his eyes open again, following the ethereal thread until he sees Master Kelleran’s arm on the opposite side of where Grogu is seated, and the makeshift bandage wrapped around it seeped through with blood. Grogu frowns, his stomach lurching at the sight of the wound. He’d seen so many of them that night. He remembered every one.
Tentatively and without thought Grogu reached out across Master Kelleran’s chest to where his upper arm was secured. Beq opened his eyes at the child’s movement, following his line of sight.
“Ah, I am fine,” he assured the child. “It will heal. Do not worry about it.”
Grogu wasn’t paying attention. His gaze was fixated on the spot where an assailant’s blade must have cut through the master’s defenses long enough to leave a mark, and deep enough it bled for some time before it could be wrapped. Even now the wound had barely congealed.
How Grogu knew this, he was unsure, but it was something that needed to be remedied.
With the same steadying breath his guardian had taken before he leapt from the tower of the Jedi Temple, Grogu reached out with both his hand and his senses, focusing on the tendrils of the Force in his mind’s eye. The silvery, blue-green threads of light he’d known since he was very small responded, flickering into his vision like tendrils of shimmering smoke in the dark. Grogu called them to him until they coalesced around the fixed point, shining bright and warm as they condensed their energy into place.
Before, his abilities extended only so far as to move things at will or communicate with others, broadening his senses to his surroundings. This was something new, but he felt it innately, like a fish knowing how to swim. It wasn’t something he could explain or even recognized as something separate of himself. On instinct alone he imbued those tendrils of light with love and gratitude, searching for the remedy and pulling the threads together around the pain he sensed before him. The threads interwove and knit back into place that which had been severed, and he felt a cool sense of serenity wash over him as balance was restored.
With fate’s design changed just enough to remedy the injury sustained in the heat of battle, Grogu relaxed back into the crook of his master’s arm with a sense of satisfaction. The effort it had taken him was more than he’d anticipated, but if he could control nothing else as night continued to fall, he found peace in knowing this was one thing he could.
As the boy closed his eyes once more and nodded off against his chest, Kelleran Beq stared in wonder and concern at what he’d just witnessed. He carefully removed the makeshift bandage that had staunched the flow of blood enough for his arm to be usable when they were on the move, only to find smooth skin in its absence. He flexed his arm, testing the mobility and feeling in it and was astonished to realize it was as if he’d never been wounded in the first place. There was no lingering bruising beneath the skin, no tendon twisted or muscle severed. In a matter of moments, the child had healed him, at a deficit to his own energy. The boy in his lap slept a dreamless sleep, but whether it was from the exertion just now or from the tragedy they’d experienced on Coruscant, he didn’t know.
The Jedi master smoothed over one of the boy’s long green ears, gently pressing his knuckles to the child’s cheek as he assessed him.
What Kelleran knew with certainty was that if anybody ever found out about the child’s newfound gift, they would stop at nothing to use it for themselves.

What do you think about the mainline Pokemon games (RBY, GSC, etc.)?
LIKE...... IN GENERAL, OR..?????
ok well. let's see. there's ones I like and ones I don't, naturally. I said this in another ask but imo Pokemon design gets cooler and stronger with each passing generation, even if the games themselves weren't that good. LOVE Galar's designs for the most part, but good god Sword and Shield were not. good games. >__>
I'm eternally partial to RSE (Ruby was my first pkmn game, Hoenn's still one of my favorite regions, the Gen 3 era soundtrack is so nostalgic to me.) Gen 4 was a monumental generation for so many reasons, Platinum is a just a goddamn good game, and BDSP is a fucking embarassment lol. I love Gen 5's games, I've been wanting to replay Black sometime, I miss her. White 2 I think my be my favorite mainline Pokemon game of all time (though I have to be real, Violet is up there now too--warts (and bugs) and all, Scarvio was the most fun I've had in a mainline pokemon game in YEARS, and the story knocked my ass clean into the street. I just like it! I love Paldea!!)
I love Alola's Dex, I love so much of Sun and Moon's story and characters, and I fucking wish they were better games, I wish USUM wasn't a letdown (as much as Necrozma's everything makes me insane.) I didn't grow up with RBY or GSC so I don't really have any nostalgic attachment to them at all lol--in RBY's case I played the virtual console DS version and kind of. did not enjoy myself at all HHSGGDFG i would be perfectly content never going to Kanto in a pokemon game ever again.
Legends Arceus also kicked ass and I genuinely hope they do more games like that in the future. If they do Legends Unova I'll go absolutely ape, slash pos. (or whatever it is it seems like they're lurking towards with whatever the next 'big' game is, Unova wise--I genuinely dont think it's BW remakes (which also I don't think they should even make in the first place; the games look FINE, just PORT THEM FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.))
Scarlet and Violet's soundtrack goes so fucking hard.
And. um. X and Y's graphics aged like murky dogshit 🥴
