Do you plan anything lovely or horror-lovely for February the 14th
Nothing too fancy, but I have some sinister-silly stuff for Valentine Week, little doodles for each day

thinking a lot these days about how our bodies work to protect us from things and how we don't even realise that things + people that used to be so big to us can seem like specks now but that doesn't mean it wasn't once something big and important. things don't always work out and that is okay, it isn't necessarily good or bad sometimes it just is. life and relationships are just very strange but vulnerability and connection are the only thing that really means anything 💌

I kept circling back to these three choices as I wondered how best to proceed.
Today, I'm choosing the third.

i am a slut for substacks with a steady flow of cake (chapters) so cannot wait for good dracula stuff after dd is done to tie us over from the misery of bad novels and upcoming movie
I hope the cake will satisfy, even if it is full of blood and bile <3

I can't decide which of these I'd like to read:
something humorous e.g. Jeeves and Wooster
an EPIC FANTASY that will make me FEEL THINGS (blame my recent Return of the King rewatch)

this has really been bothering me bc i've been following hcr for years and do really like her historical analyses but i've come to accept over the past few days that the reason hcr is not explicitly speaking out against the us-funded genocide in gaza is the same reason that fox news spews its regular bile: her readership has certain expectations of her writing and if she deviates from these expectations she loses income. it all comes down to money. she and fox are two sides of the same status quo
