Being named to Finland's Olympic team is far from a surprise for Patrik. He's looking forward to spending a couple weeks in Beijing with friends from his national team that he doesn't get to see during the season, as well as getting a chance to play against his NHL teammates.
He's not expecting Nikolaj, the Danish figure skating phenom said to be Denmark's first real chance for a skating medal. Nikolaj is funny, cute, and pretty much perfect.
Patrik never stood a chance.

I would summarize tonight's game as good in the first period, "meh" in the second period, slightly better, but still somewhat quiet in the third period and then back to "meh" in overtime which resulted in a victory for the Winnipeg Jets.
Tumblr media
The Blackhawks kicked off the game on a good note as Brandon Saad scored a short-handed goal to give the Blackhawks a 1-0 lead with an assist by Ryan Carpenter (who got his first point as a Blackhawk).
Tumblr media
The Hawks got a chance on the power play after Adam Lowry took a high-sticking penalty, they were able to capitalize on it as Brent Seabrook scored his first goal of the game, giving them a 2-0 lead (with assists by Dominik Kubalik & Duncan Keith, who have been playing quite well so far).
Going into the second period, the Blackhawks still had a two-goal lead, but it didn't last for long as things started looking a bit sluggish for them and Nikolaj Elhers scored a power play goal to make it a 2-1 game.
Tumblr media
In the third period, the Hawks looked less sluggish, but it was still a quiet period for them and the Jets had momentum on their side at that point which they were able to put to good use as Andrew Copp tied up the game, sending it to overtime.
Tumblr media
It didn't take long for the Jets to end the game in overtime as Mark Scheifele scored the winning goal, giving them another win and the Blackhawks another loss. When the Blackhawks slowed down after the first period, the Jets took away their momentum. While it's good that they were able to get a point in the game, they ended up squandering their lead goal. If they want to win games, they can't allow that to happen.
Tumblr media
Robin Lehner made his debut as a Blackhawk tonight. Even though he didn't get the win, I thought that he played pretty well and made some great-looking saves, especially during the first period. The Hawks' penalty kill looked slightly better than it did on Thursday even though the Jets were able to capitalize on their power play in the second period. However, they weren't able to generate much when it came to the power play, which could've given them a good boost to gain some momentum. The Blackhawks' next game will take place on Monday night against the Edmonton Oilers, who have now won five games in a row (as of Saturday night). With the way the Oilers have been playing lately, the Blackhawks really need to play on their "A" game and start playing more energized from beginning to end in order to get their first win of the season. Until then, go Blackhawks!
