Draw the Swedes as famous Swedish characters!
SatW brother Sweden as “Nils Holgersson” from a famous book called “Nils Holgerssons underbara resa genom Sverige” (Nils Holgersson’s wonderful journey througt Sweden) about a boy that’s mean against everyone, and one day meets a magic “Nisse” that turns him small to teach him a lesson. Nils then flies away with a Goose named “Mårten” and together they fly throughout Sweden.
Aph Sweden as “Madicken”. She’s a girl who lives in “Junibacken” with her sister and parents. she and her sister switch personalities a bit throughout the stories, but it’s a great book. One time Madicken tries to fly down from a roof with an umbrella.
and then we have sister Sweden as Pippi Longstocking. We have probably all Heard of her. RIGHT? *Swedish glare* well, she’s a girl who lives in Gotland (an iland in Sweden) together with her Monkey and Horse. She’s not like any average girl, no, no. She’s extremly strong! She also has a suitcase filled with Money. The book is mostly written from the two other kid’s perspective, Tommy and Annika. They live a boring Life where they’re almost not allowed to do anything fun. So they hang out with Pippi, that Always has ideas on fun things to do.
God I love Pippi
Pippi was my childhood

I planned on reading Karin Boye's Kallocain as my first Swedish book this year but I ended up starting Nils Holgerssons underbara resa genom Sverige. It's because I'll be travelling through Sweden this year and well, thought it would be nice to read it before I go. The story was written in 1906 and first I was afraid it'll be too difficult to read, but it's been fine? Sure, some verbs have weird past tenses, but I can understand them just fine.
The best thing is that there is the whole audiobook on Spotify and it's really nice to listen to, so I've been listening and reading at the same time which is great for learning. I've already come upon some words I was pronouncing incorrectly.
So far the book is entertaining but since it's so long, it's a bit daunting to get myself to read it. I've been trying to read for 30 minutes every day but still it'll take me probably two months to read it.

Many of us dive into books, living in other places and as other people for as long as the pages last. If we're lucky, the book is so good that the characters leap from the pages into our world, permeating our thoughts as we go through daily routines. Though small, this sculpture by Swedish artist Ralf Borselius is for me the quintessence of this beautiful dynamic. Even better, it is a monument to a book written by a woman author, Swede Selma Lagerlöf (1858-1940), the first woman to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. Entitled "Sprungen ur boken" (Out of the Book), the sculpture was unveiled on November 24, 2006, in Karlskrona, Sweden, to mark the 100th anniversary of the publication of Lagerlöf's book, "Nils Holgerssons underbara resa genom Sverige" (Nils Holgersson's wonderful journey across Sweden). In the book and its second volume, which was published in 1907, mischievous 14-year-old Nils flies around Sweden on the back of a goose, taking in the country from top to tail. He runs into some trouble along the way, including in Karlskrona, which is perhaps why he's fleeing the pages of his own story. An English translation of the two volumes entitled "The Wonderful Adventures of Nils" is available to download for free at Amazon: https://amzn.to/2SDQanJ.
