Hi, I just wanted to recommend the movie The Old Guard on Netflix. It's really good and Alma like your kind of movie. It has found family with supernatural elements, which is kind if your whole vibe. Hope I'm not bugging you.
Hi! And no, don’t worry, you’re not bugging me, I always appreciate getting recommendations! ^^
However, I did give this one a chance already, because it was on everybody’s blog and canon gays and Charlize Theron looking like she does in that movie seemed interesting, but I did not make it past the 20 minute mark. Turns out the entire rest of the movie is things that turn me off real quickly, sadly enough. ^^°

Hello I was hoping maybe you could help me find a fic I once started to read but then lost; It's a high school au and Alec moves to new York with his family. His parents have the rule that nobody's allowed to date until the oldest (alec) does, but he doesn't want to so Jace pays Magnus to date Alec. Also there's Jace/Sebastian I think?? Not sure though. I really want to finish that fic but I just can't find it 😰
anonymous asked:
Hello, do you know that fic where Alec moves to NY, and his siblings aren’t allowed to date until Alec does, so Jace pays Magnus to go out with Alec. At some point Alec finds that out (Simon tells him by accident I think) an is very hurt. Alec is a total nerd in that fic an I think there was some JacexJonathan planned (not sure). I (started) to read that fic but sadly, I lost it. It would be great if someone could help me find it! 😢🙊
@nix-daughterofmagic thinks it could be this one:
i know you wanna go higher by orphan_account (Mature | 8/11 | 21,170)
The first thing Simon Lewis saw when he arrived Idris High School was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. However, he later discovered that if he wanted to date her, he would need to get a date for his grumpy brother, Alec. And that’s where Magnus Bane appears.
The 10 Things I Hate About You AU that every fandom needs. Simon is new and pining for Isabelle, and then he has the worst idea of his life. Somehow, things work out. Kind of.
This link takes you to all Magnus/Alec fics that are 10 Things I Hate About You AUs.

Nyssa al Ghul
Ah, a fave. Thanks for asking. *^*
OTP for them: Felicity Smoak
BROTP for them: Thea Queen, I’m sorry but them and Roy traveling together?? Those two definitely bonded
Other ships: Laurel Lance of course, Kate Kane (the League and Batman connection, I can’t help but want this), I would also not say no to a Kate/Kara/Nyssa threesome tbh, Sara Lance
What kind of fic I’d write about them: Something where she becomes a hero, stepping out of the shadows. Either by joining Team Arrow, or by joining the Canaries-that-should-be-BoP. Now, I wouldn’t object to her joining Batwoman - even if just as a friend because oh there can be more than one lesbian on a show and they can just be friends.
A favorite canon moment: Everytime she steps onto the screen?? Especially when she gets to banter with Felicity, which I can’t help but read as flirting considering she’s a lesbian she’s not even interested in Oliver why would she rub that marriage in like that if not to tease?
Color that reminds me of them: very dark red
Song that reminds me of them: Man, I’m bad at this one, sorry
A headcanon about them: She knows Kate already, back before Kate was Batwoman so Kate doesn’t know Nyssa. But Talia/Bruce had to have happened years ago and I’m just… so sure… that Nyssa has been to Gotham for business, I just… they know each other intimately.
A random AU I think up on the spot for them: AUs are hard. What would fit her… mh. Oh gods imagine a Shadowhunters AU where she is an instructor at the academy
Anything else: I miss her a lot
Send me a character!

Hey Phoe, I'm so glad you are all caught up on your schedule. I would love to see more Marvel fics from you! The ones you've posted are soooo good!! I would love to see a Team Iron Man post Civil War fix, you know the ones with lots of Team Cap bashing. Hope this gives you some inspiration! Nix
I’m not too glad about it. xDDD Because “being caught up” here means that I was so fucking busy this month, I had literally no time to pre-write meaning I am scrambling to finish what is next put onto my schedule, which is majorly frustrating for me.
Thanks for the compliment! I’m glad you enjoy them! ^o^
I mean I’ve come to prefer the “let’s just not CW” route, because the CW fix it is literally my one on-going Marvel fic. Like, that’s why that thing is so long because it’s my personal ultimate fix for CW. I... genuinely don’t really know much else to write for it aside from the things I already wrote in How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful... Every single post CW trope I enjoy has been packed into it - Hope joining the New Avengers and befriending Tony, T’Challa and Tony rekindling and bonding, Shuri and Peter meeting through that, Iron Dad and Spider Son, Bruce and Thor returning from space, Vision obviously breaking up with W@nda, Tony helping with Bucky’s recovery, Tony grieving his aunt Peggy, Sharon apologizing to her practically-cousin Tony, Tony building a new, stronger, better, healthier team that actually cares about him. I... literally put every single post CW angle I love into this fic.
I just kind of... already did every post CW fix thing in that one fic so it’d be repetitive and there’s... not much point to basically writing a condensed version of HBHBHB, you know?
If I’d find a different angle that grips me and isn’t one to one the same as that one, I’d be happy to do a CW fix again though! Alas, I don’t have one. xD
(Though, as a general rule, I don’t do bashing. Pointing out, in the canon parameters how fucking wrong and dumb Team Cap was and how much they fucked up, but the deliberate bashing and dragging some like to do is just... not mine. ^^°)

“Luck? Nope. Skills.” - “If it’s skill then do it again.” ColdFlashWave. Thanks. ❤
Advent Calendar: Day 2
“Either you’re cheating or you’re insanely lucky”, accused Nate with a glare.
“Luck? Nope. Skills”, declared Snart smoothly, smirking.
“If it’s skill then do it again”, demanded Zari and gathered the cards together again.
Jax huffed and leaned back on his chair, watching Snart count his winnings. From across the room, he could feel Grey’s eyes on him, giving him a pointed look – what was he doing playing poker against not one but two criminals. And Stein had a point there. Playing poker with Snart and Rory was never a good idea. The thing was, for the past couple of days, it had been intensely dull and boring on the Wave Rider, so it was either playing poker with Snart, Rory, Nate and Zari, or watching Sara and Amaya spar and risking being forced to join them, or listen to Grey and Ray nerd-babble two tables over. He was honestly looking forward to the holidays at this point.
“And you’re sure you don’t want to go to the Queens’ holiday party?”, asked Nate curiously.
Jax shrugged. “Grey invited me along to go celebrate with his family. And I gotta gather some extra points as favorite uncle with Ronnie already, don’t I? Besides… that party sounds like a mess.”
“Why? Just because the big wedding you guys went to attend turned into a total disaster featuring Nazis from an alternate reality?”, drawled Zari. “I mean, that was an unforgettable wedding.”
Everyone at the table grunted at the memory of the fatal failure of the first attempt at a wedding between Oliver and Felicity. It had been supposed to be a grand beautiful event, but got kind of hijacked by the Nazis. Definitely unforgettable though.
“You will not be a bad influence on my grandson, Jefferson”, called Martin out pointedly.
“Wha—at? Never, Grey”, called Jax back with a broad grin.
“And let’s not forget the part where touching down in 2017 is going to mean having to watch Mick and Len make out with Barry”, tagged Nate on and made a face.
“It’s like a rite of passage to walk in on them having sex at least once”, offered Jax to Zari.
Zari raised both her eyebrows and shrugged at that. She had a pretty good grasp on what she would be walking in on considering she had read Mick’s polyamorous erotica novel and she figured he drew a lot from his own life and relationship with Snart and Allen. Her eyes found the two former – well, mostly former – criminals who had kept uncharacteristically quiet during the conversation.
/break\
Sara was sitting with Len in the library, supposedly researching. The two had grown to become an odd pair of friends ever since joining the Legends. After Snart had sacrificed himself to save them and they only barely managed to rescue him, the two had grown even closer. He had died, technically, but timey-wimey mumbo-jumbo had led to them bringing him back nonetheless because his conscience had still been around, haunting Mick. At first, Mick had thought he was going insane, but that was by far not the case. It took them some time to figure out a way to actually grow Snart a new body with Gideon – but hey, she made full limbs, she could do this – and move his consciousness into it. At the end of the day, both of them had died and come back.
“Do you ever regret joining the Legends?”, asked Sara curiously.
“Mh? I don’t think me and Mick would have returned to the Wave Rider after the disbandment if we would regret joining, don’t you think?”, countered Leonard.
“You rejoined the crew again because you two were going crazy in Aruba, mourning Barry. But they managed to free him from the Time Prison”, pointed Sara out. “If he had never been in there and you two would have gotten to return to him, heroes and saviors in your own right, redeemed from the deeds of your past… would you have truly left him again?”
“You’re not the type to get lost in what ifs”, mused Len thoughtfully. “I can’t attest for potential pasts, Sara. He’s safe and alive now and he has his own calling. Here, we get leeway. We’re not heroes. We will never be. In Central City? Have you met the Wests? They’re a bunch of goodie-two-shoes. One false step and the Detective will be willing to throw us back into jail. The really scary one in that family is and always will be Barry’s sister though.”
“Iris?”, asked Sara confused. “Why? She seems… very harmless.”
“But fiercely protective of her brother”, countered Len and grimaced. “If she thought me and Mick were still criminal enough to lead to a heartbreak for her brother then she would most likely tear us apart all on her own. No. That entire team? Too many goodie-two-shoes for us to be comfortable.”
“Your boyfriend is a goodie-two-shoes”, argued Sara amused.
“Yes, but he vibrates in bed”, replied Len with a dirty grin. “And does entirely different things in bed too. For him, the whole innocent puppy-dog eyes is quite… charming. And redeemable.”
Sara snorted and shook her head in amusement. She shouldn’t have asked.
/break\
Mick had been polishing his gun for the past two hours. And it was not a euphemism. Amaya and Zari exchanged a look over their breakfast. Mick was humming. In lack of a better word, one would describe him as happy. Which was wildly concerning, really. The last time he had looked that happy, they had just heard the news of vampires in Victorian London.
“Hey, buddy. You looking forward to seeing Barry again?”, asked Ray with a carefree smile as he entered the kitchen and sat down opposite Mick. “Got a Christmas present for him?”
“Yes”, replied Mick with what could only be described as an unholy smile.
“Oh, wha-”, started Ray interested.
“No”, interrupted Amaya rather firmly. “No need to spoil the surprise.”
“But… it’s not like it’s for me… so it’s not a surprise”, frowned Ray confused.
“But you’ll babble it on”, countered Amaya pointedly, though the real reason was a different one.
Mick’s grin widened even more. Still humming, he got up to return to his and Lenny’s cabin. Today was the day. They were going to the Queens’ party and they would get to spend time with Barry again. It had been far too long since they last got to be with their speedster.
“You’re in a good mood, Mick”, observed Leonard when Mick entered their room.
“Mh. Can’t wait to see Scarlet in our present”, grinned Mick.
Leonard huffed at that though the grin on his lips matched Mick’s. “Christmas is all about unwrapping presents after all, isn’t it?”
/break\
“Merry Chris—Woah, okay. Stand down, boys.”
Barry was staring wide-eyed, lifting his hands up in the air as both the Cold Gun and the Heat Gun were trained on his head suddenly. As soon as Lenny and Mick realized who had just broken into their room and woken them up, they dropped their weapons.
“Scarlet, how often have I told you not to sneak up on us?”, growled Mick annoyed.
“I wanted to surprise you”, huffed Barry with a pout, crossing his arms.
“You… couldn’t wait to see us, mh?”, asked Leonard knowingly, a smirk on his lisp.
Barry’s cheeks turned red to match his suit as he averted his eyes. “I mean, it’s… Christmas. And after waking up, I had to watch Joe and Cecille be all sweet and in love.”
“Ah, future stepmom”, teased Leonard amused. “She seemed impressive, during the Nazi-fight.”
“She is impressive”, grunted Barry softly. “I really like her, I like how happy she makes Joe.”
“So seeing your old man be all lovey-dovey made you wanna be lovey-dovey too”, accused Mick.
The grin on his lips matched Lenny’s as the arsonist reached out to wrap an arm around Barry’s waist and pull him down onto the bed. Barry yelped a little as he collapsed against Mick’s chest. Mick smiled pleased and tucked the speedster beneath his chin.
“How long do you think we have?”, asked Barry as he snuggled up to Mick.
“Don’t know. Don’t care”, grumbled Mick.
“Sara said something about landing early to drop off the professor and Jax”, offered Leonard as he laid down behind Barry, gently kissing the back of his neck. “So I’m positive we have some more time. You know how long Nathaniel takes to get ready in the morning.”
“Hair too”, grunted Mick pointedly.
“Yes, Raymond too”, agreed Leonard with a laugh.
“I live with Iris and Cecille. I know about having to wait my turn for the bathroom”, huffed Barry.
“You do know you’re old enough to get your own place, right?”, teased Leonard amused.
He trailed kisses along Barry’s shoulders, while Barry cuddled up to Mick some more. The large man was perfect for cuddling, warm and soft and comfortable. Barry sighed contently as Len spooned him from behind. With a very pleased smile on his lips did Leonard lean over to properly kiss Mick good morning too. It was downright endearing how pleased Mick looked, with their third tucked against his chest like that. Though Leonard couldn’t deny that he too was happy to have Barry back with them. What Sara had said, it rang true. If they hadn’t believed Barry to be locked away forever, they might have thought twice about leaving Central City.
“Have you missed us, Scarlet?”, asked Leonard teasingly.
“Obviously”, grumbled Barry pointedly. “Joe’s been… kind of frustrated ever since Wally left.”
“Why’d your brother leave?”, asked Mick confused.
Both Mick and Leonard had spoken with the kid before, worked with him. He was amusing.
“Too many speedsters around”, offered Barry with a sigh. “Got tired of being in my shadow, I guess. Being Kid Flash on Team Flash… Yeah, I get it.”
“Mh, and is your brother going to join us for Christmas?”, wondered Leonard.
“I have no idea. He’s barely been in contact with us since he left”, sighed Barry, pulling Lenny closer against himself. “I hope? But… your sister is going to join us for Christmas.”
Leonard raised his eyebrows curiously at that and exchanged a look with Mick. “She is?”
“You’re going to have so much fun with that”, chuckled Barry teasingly.
“Scarlet, what are you keeping from me?”, asked Leonard, nipping Barry’s neck.
Barry laughed and swatted at him. “Cisco and Lisa got back together a little while ago.”
“Mh. We get to threaten the pipsqueak some more”, grumbled Mick very pleased.
Leonard raised both of his eyebrows. “Now how did that happen?”
“After you… died, she started… coming around occasionally. Guess she was a bit… lost. And after you came back from the dead, well…”, shrugged Barry. “Turns out while you two were in Aruba and Wally was posing as me, apparently… they asked for her help and the Golden Glider became Miss Midas, a young upcoming hero.”
“How have I not heard of this before?”, grunted Leonard pointedly.
“It’s not like you drop by with a lot of social calls”, muttered Barry.
“We’re literally saving all of history, Scarlet”, defended Mick gruffly.
Barry laughed softly and leaned up to peck first Mick on the lips and then Leonard. “You can get all caught up on the party. But for now, you’re all mine.”

For the ask game Arrowverse and Shadowhunter. Thanks!
Now the ooother way around.
Our Shadowhunters in the Arrowverse. Funsie!
Alec is an archer, which of course means he has to operate in Star City because all archers in this world are contractually obligated to live in the one fucking city that has an archery-themed superhero. (Yeah, I’m salty about this because it’s getting fucking ridiculous. Sue me.)
He’d be taken under Oliver’s wing.
Simon could maybe be infected with the Mirakuru like Roy, explaining how the normal human suddenly turned super strong and all. And that’s how he got dragged into the Arrow Cave.
Izzy is the ME, working with Luke. Luke works at the precinct with Captain Lance! ^o^ And they have to be exhausted dad friends!
Jace and Clary are metahumans. They first encounter Barry, because the Flash reeeaaally needs more “Hey, I got superpowers and I do NOT want to do crimes with it!”-metahumans. Like. Really. (Yeah, I’m salty about this because it’s getting fucking ridiculous. Sue me.)
And that’s how they meet the Lightwoods - through Oliver and Barry.
Oh, and Magnus is literally just a warlock. I mean. Have you met Constantine? Yeah, Magnus has - and that is how he meets the others.

So, I have a couple of questions. One. Have you heard Praying by Kesha? Two. If you have, do you think it's more a Jace or Magnus song? Three. I know you haven't watched all of Supernatural but, what are your opinions on John Winchester?
I haven’t heard of that song prior to this, but after listening to it… Neither of them, truth be told. Message, nice and all, but the overall package, I don’t see that fitting with either of them. I see Adam Lambert’s “Whataya Want from Me” fitting Magnus very well, while Jace’s theme song is Bon Jovi’s “I Want to be Loved”. Both, with their lyrics but also with the tonality of the songs and the singers behind them.
Thirdly, fuck John Winchester. Just… like. Fuck him. He made Dean essentially raise little Sammy because Johnny boy had to be out killing monsters. He sucked as a parent; he should have focused on his family. And then was absent for ass-long. Eh.

Sense8?
Okay, let me start with the flaws and then move on to the good stuff.
This show suffers in its first season from having too many characters at once. I understand that for the sake of the pun you need 8 main characters and by the time season 2 rolls around, you’re very familiar with them all and I wouldn’t want to cut any out.
But it’s so hard to digest in the beginning.
This show was recommended to me by both of my best friends separately. And both came with the warning that I need to watch at least until episode three before I can make a proper decision on whether or not I’ll continue watching it.
The thing is. They were right. I wanted to turn it off after one episode. But I trusted them and pushed and by episode four, I was totally addicted.
I recommended the show to my parents and they started watching it. My mom walked out of it after one episode, my father kept watching episode two and told my mother that “it got better” so she gave it another chance too. And by episode four, they were both hooked. Now they’re complaining to me about the lack of season three, shesh.
That’s a problem. A problem. Because me and my mother are certainly not the only ones who don’t give a show half a season time to grow on them. My rule of thumb is one episode and if it can’t hook me, I move on to the next show.
Since, as mentioned above, with season 2 I really wouldn’t want to cut any of the characters, I think it would have benefitted from… a different kind of split.
Tell the stories of less characters, but tell more of their stories per episode. Have the first episode only focus on four of the characters and give us a better chance to get to know them right away. Have then the second episode focus on the other four with the same. But throwing people right into just a tiny little bit of eight different characters is, certainly for many, overwhelming and confusing. Later on, when you know the characters, you can switch easily between them, but especially for the start when you 1.) don’t know any of them and 2.) have no idea what is even going on, it’s just too much at once.
That’s actually kind of my only complaint about it, because this show is fucking brilliant. And it deserves to be watched and not to be tuned out because its beginning is so confusing and overwhelming.
I mean, the idea behind it is a bit bogus, but I like bogus so there’s that.
This show… I don’t even know where to start.
The story telling is brilliant, once you’re actually used to who’s who and who’s where. The way their stories intertwine, how they interact.
I mean, personally I’d have wished for a couple more bonding moments between the individuals who don’t have that much screen-time together because it… is mainly certain pairs between the group that meet up and help each other and have more of a connection whereas I’d… I’d have loved for the seasons to have 15 episodes to stretch the plot and give them all more time to also just interact with each other. Because they’re amazing and their relationships are amazing and I’d like to see more interactions.
I have one very personal problem with the show and that’s Kala’s character and her relationship with Wolfgang, because I despise cheats. They’re the scum of the Earth and come for me riiight after rapists/child molesters and abusers, because that’s just how my moral compass is tuned. And the fact that she has multiple outs of the wedding with the really cute and sweet guy who adores her and she still pulls through with it and she still decides to cheat on him makes me hate her the most. If she had been set up into an arranged marriage, she’d at least get some leeway, but her parents never pushed - honestly, her dad is such a sweetheart - and it was all her idea. So really absolutely nothing gives her an excuse to act or feel like a victim when she decides to get married and then decides to cheat on him. It just makes her a bad person. I mean, if you got nothing against cheating and if you sail the ship, you go, but… it’s just not within the parameters of my moral and thus, I personally disapprove.
On that note, let’s move on to the good stuff!
Amanita Caplan is a treasure. I swear, Neets fast became my favorite character and the favorite character of my parents.
The supporting cast in this show is brilliant. You’d think that with eight main characters, it’d be so busy working with them that the supporting cast would fall flat in their development and design, but they’re amazing.
Kala’s dad is a pearl, Amanita is a treasure, Bug is so adorable I just wanna give him a hug, Daniella is literally me, Sun’s former teacher is such a calm sweet mentor and just… Every secondary character, they all have their own personality, they all have their well-defined relationship to their Sensate and they’re all memorable.
This show is character design and development on point.
What’s very important about this show and obviously needs to be addressed is its representation.
It blows my mind in what way they managed that. I genuinely can’t remember ever having seen representation for trans people in such a heartfelt way. It allowed me as a CIS woman to relate to her in a way TV has never done before, because they mostly just… put it in the sidelines. I’ve never seen a show that went into the struggle like that. That also managed to convey this… utter frustration over being misgendered in a way that had my mom nearly throw a shoe at the screen when Nomi’s mother just opened her fucking mouth.
I’ve seen trans story-arcs in Glee, Shameless and The Fosters. They all either only scratched the surface or only showed the trans character as agressively defensive without showing the struggle that led to that attitude (looking at you there, Shameless… though also The Fosters, until like over a season later when we got into his background story). This was the first time a trans story-arc clicked for me in the sense that it wasn’t just “another character and their background-story”, it was more than just a story-line or just a plot-device. It was very, very heart-felt, it was very, very relateable and it gave me, personally, more of an insight than anything I’ve ever seen before on TV.
Continuing on the note of representation. I, as a lesbian, felt very proudly represented by Neets - maybe another reason why I love her so much. TV lesbians are so badly done most the time. They’re just… plot-devices when the straight female lead has gone stale and they need to mix it up so the normally as straight portrayed female lead meets a lesbian and they have a relationship for a season or less before the lesbian is written out of the story and the other one goes back to her straight relationship, most of the time with the male lead (Mistresses, Gotham, I know there are more but I might have deleted them from my brain out of sheer frustration at this point). It’s never really clarified if the female lead identifies as pan or bisexual or if it was really just “the plot grew stale, we needed to mix it up so we had hot woman on woman action” - because that’s what it mainly is when there is a female/female relationship on TV. Two really hot chicks, kissing, making out and having sex as often as possible. Rarely do they involve the romantic sub-plot or feelings. It’s just about… jerk-off material for the men.
Amanita is so much more. Her love for Nomi is amazing. Her character is amazing. She is so much more than just The Love Interest, she saves Nomi’s ass so often, she is 120% behind her girlfriend and the cluster, she’s supportive, strong, witty. I love her. I love for what she stands, I love what she does, I love how she’s used in the show. She makes me, as a lesbian who has grown very frustrated with TV shows, have a little more hope in humanity.
Same goes for Lito, because it wasn’t just “He came out and everyone adored him and there were no problems” like TV sometimes does or “He came out and everyone hated him and there were all the problems” which is TV’s other route of action.
He was the perfect mixture, he showed the complexity. You got to see his struggle with coming out, the social problems it entailed, but also the support of those who loved him, the way his career seemed to be driven into a wall just to emerge even stronger.
And talking about Lito brings me to Danielle. I love Dani. She’s, after Neets, my favorite character, because she’s just… every fangirl ever. The way she reacted to finding two hot gay guys in bed was just “Hey! That’s the same face I just made!”. But, again, she is so much more than just a shallow “I like gay guys!” stereotype. With her abusive boyfriend, the way that it becomes obvious that she is so hung up on Lito and Hernando because she’s never been loved before, not by her parents who turn blind eyes on her abuse and rather have her stay with a man who beats her than with two gays, certainly not by said abusive ex. She just wants platonic love and Lito and Hernando are the first time she’s allowed to experience that without pain and it’s beautiful.
Something that I admire about Sun too. At first, she came off as very… flat and unemotional and just also unengaged and I thought that she might just be the one that slipped through the cracks when they did the character design, but season 2 beautifully unveiled her struggles and showed that she is indeed so much more and she too, just like Dani, just really needs and deserves love. And that she finds that for the first time in the cluster, but that she also really struggles with it. She’s always right there to help them whenever one of them needs her, but she is so reluctant to ask anything of them. But they’re there and they help her.
Jeez, I didn’t want to go through all the characters…
So let’s throw them together a little bit. Kala and Van Damn. Because they stand for something that amazed me too about this show. It didn’t just focus on this character’s personal struggle. It’s also getting political about countries I have zero idea about how things work and what’s going on there. Like, you as a Western person are aware of the lack of fresh water and the struggles, but the way Van Damn’s plotline just dove right into it and gave this insight into the situation, into how he handles life, it was… amazing. His family, his still carefree attitude about anything and I really liked when he actually got a love-interest in season 2 because that was its own version of two worlds clashing and he was just so cute about everything. He came so far and it’s amazing.
Same goes for Kala’s sub-plot about religion in India, showing a side that... hasn’t been shown often in TV (which is the only thing I want to say about her, because I think I made my opinion on her character clear up above already).
I have to admit that Riley and Will are coming a little short in my opinion. They didn’t start out that way, they started out with the same potential as all others, but while the others got to stay in their lives and tell their stories, those two just merged into not just their relationship but also the front representing their struggle against the bad guys. They sacrificed their own stories for the sake of being on the forefront of their fight, which yeah, someone had to, and I’m not too sorry it was them because I really don’t like their relationship and having the two of them just… do something useful while being together, that pleased me.
Now. Lastly. Wölfchen. Sorry, been calling him that since episode one. I just can’t with Wolfy. No. I dunno which German would call him that but I kinda doubt many. Wolf or, well, to tease, Wölfchen. But yeah, totally beside the point, It’s just that I always crack up when they call him Wolfy.
I LOVE THAT THE GERMAN’S THE CRIMINAL AND THE ONE WITH THE PAST ABUSE. It totally bothers my dad that the German is the criminal, but I just love myself a good criminal and thief. I mean, it took me… like… way too long to figure out that his plotline takes place in Germany but I instantly liked him from his first scene when they stole the gems. Like “Yees. I like a good thief”. It’s a thing, I blame Kaitou KID.
And, well, the child abuse. If you know me, you know I have a weakness for the characters who were abused as kids and keep fighting on. Just look at Percy Jackson and Jace Wayland, my little precious darlings.
But I also loved that it was just so… German.
When they had the flashback to Wolfgang and Felix in school, I just sat there in awe because… yeah, that’s a German classroom. That is a German classroom. It’s kind of… so different from the ones you get used to seeing on TV because it’s all American and just this little detail already really made me happy because yeah, I recognize “home” in it.
When they went to the Holocaust Memorial, I just sat there in awe at how well they filmed that. Because it is... very borign when you’re there, actually. But the way they filmed it perfectly conveyed the claustrophobic feeling you’re supposed to get there.
When they had the epic battle-scene on New Year’s Eve, I squealed because “Oh my gosh, that’s where I spent New Year’s six years ago when I was in Berlin! EXACTLY THERE!”. It’s kind of stupid but also not, but… Everything is New York and Los Angeles and San Francisco and Chicago, all the bigger American cities, but to see your own home on TV, to see something you actually recognize because you’ve been there before, it’s a weird kind of happiness. You won’t believe the squealing I did when my favorite character on Grimm said that his uncle was born in my home-town.
So, I think it’s really time to wrap this up now.
This show is absolutely worth the watch, even if you’re struggling through the first two episodes with confusion and a feeling of being overwhelmed. Its character design, its character development, its story-telling, its representation, its relatablitiy - they’re all so on point and beautifully done.
Story-telling wise this is an absolute masterpiece, in desperate need of others of its kind and I will be so sad to see it go but I’m also happy that at the very least we get a special to wrap it all up and not leave us high and dry.

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD?
No. That show was my Marvel hard-limit. I forced myself through all the shows leading up to the Defenders, but this show was where I drew the line of what I let Marvel force me into ^^°°°
