This is kinda long so prepare yourself for a wall of text..hah

Heads up!

Fukuchi hasn't been established properly (+ I don't like him :D) so I'm not gonna add him in the headcanons!

Education!

The doa taught Atsushi in academics

Sigma - economics bc he works at the casino and math bc he would probably have to do right off the bat timing and cost/payment calculations

Nikolai - general science topics bc I feel like he would be into that for it's unpredictability and sewing/life skills bc he seems like he would know how to sew (for disguises) and cook basic meals 😌

Fyodor - Literature/language(s) bc Fyodor totally reads to Atsushi and vice versa and music bc the Cello and all

Bram - history bc dude is so fucking old omg and geography/culture bc I feel like he's travelled quite a bit

Sleep!

Nikolai - stays up all night and hates waking up/has a hard time doing so

Fyodor - sleeps a LOT bc of his anemia

Sigma - goes to bed early and wakes up early, he seems well-scheduled enough to do so

Bram - is almost completely nocturnal bc he's a bat ✨

Atsushi - has an unofficial bedtime of 12:30-1:00am and wakes up no later than 11:00am (they usually don't follow up with this but if it comes to mind and nothing is happening they will set this)

Music genres/artists!

Nikolai - he gives off Jack Stauber and IC3PEAK vibes... no? Who agrees w me?

Sigma - I feel like he would enjoy lofi and soft rock, I can see him maybe listening to Bohemian Rhapsody?

Bram - he would listen to classical music, since he shows his love for it in the manga and all

Fyodor - classical and would listen to IC3PEAK as well, maybe. I feel like he would try to get into other types of music and not entirely like them but like small bits of different songs

Atsushi - pop, lofi and classical. He likes stuff in that sort of area. Je te Laisserai Des Mots? Yeah he would love that a lot (also because I love it sm he would like Merry go 'round of Life from Howls Moving Castle)

"Turning his gaze forward again, he walked after Sigma through the glowing lights of the casino. The place was typically crowded, and it was in moments like these that he was thankful for his ushanka's ear flaps. All the patrons were caught up in a loud, overbearing, and idealistic world of their own. Most barely noticing the 3 of them pass by, which in heighnsight wasn't a big deal when looking towards himself and Nikolai..as whenever they would hang around here, it wasn't to socialize with the addicts at the roulette tables. But Sigma owned the place, on the other hand, though it seemed to be inconsequential to most of the players at this hour of the night. What a waste of time..."

I'll also take the opportunity to sort of finally touch up on Atsushi's age change in the A.U...

If you guys keep up with the character information sheets, you'll see everyone's age/ estimated age. However, while all are identical to canon, one isn't, and that's Atsushi's.

He's the only character I've shifted the age of and did so rather early in concepting.

I've also felt like the initial shift to 19 wasn't good enough for me, so I'm settling on a steady 20 for A.U. Atsushi.

The reason I changed only Atsushi's age is because he will be my main character (properly so, unlike canon BSD). In BSD, Atsushi acts much like a projection type of protagonist. He is discovering the world/ characters/ rules and societal structure alongside the audience. We know nothing, and neither does he, having been sealed away behind the walls and bars of the Orphanage. Which makes canon Atsushi feel naive, impressionable, emotive, reactive, and sympathetic in his underlying sense of innocence when we first meet him, and he only discovers his ideals and identity for himself as the series progresses. I wanted the opposite for A.U. Atsushi. Him being slightly older and Fyodor finding him much faster allows for a construction of character much more deeply cemented. A.U. Atsushi knows who he is, what he stands for, and why. He's not discovering a lot of the outside world, and he isn't impressionable. It felt overall better to have the darker, colder

, and more mellow version of Atsushi in the A.U. be older. That being said, I didn't feel like the rest of the cast needed that same treatment.

I felt like talking about this as it does characterize the difference between canon Atsushi and A.U. Atsushi strongly.

Happy Fool's Day.

I'm about 5 days late now, but he'll take what I give him.

I had to juggle this between a commission and the 4th chapter- besides ArkFenSo concepting.

You all get a treat, I'm sure no one truly envisioned, and that is Nikolai with a somewhat healthy physique, shocking it's understandable. Curtosy of the Fyo!Atsushi A.U. and therefore, of Atsushi's baking skills.

Ability structure/ anatomy:

-Abilities are made of energy. Both in Earth's dimension and in their own, the only difference being that their own dimension is adapted to their construction. That is to say, their state of existence is handled differently in each dimension.

On Earth:

-Abilities display their physical forms using Earth's atmosphere, light and gravity. They automatically adapt their own sense of gravity to the space they exist in, as they are not entirely physical on Earth.

They are physical enough for humans to come in direct contact with but not enough to be damaged.

As their forms on Earth are seen as variables, they have control over dematerializing and rematerializing at will from their human host.

Control and regulate the speed of their descent from a high jump. Which they can preform through temporary detachment from our gravity, as it does not bind their form energy.

-Abilities are bioluminescent. The level of energy / power coursing through them radiates to the exterior through glowing limb extremities most of the time.

Abilities can be damaged on Earth. Though only the physical form. As soon as the physical form sustains too much damage, the ability retreats to its current host and is on stand by from anywhere between hours and up to a month and more as they take the time to regenerate. Seeing as their physical form represents the extra energy the host body couldn't comprehend, the energy doesn't return inside the body, but it compacts itself and materializes into a small gem. (Much like we've seen in Dead Apple but they won't all be red).

Bandit!Nikolai - The simping for this sucker is insane.

Fyo!Atsushi A.U. Extension, much like the Angel/Demon one I've had.

It's basically Bandits vs. Sherifs and the Subplot of Dazai chasing The Devil Fyodor.

Pretty fun, I'm still deciding if we keep abilities, or I just turn them to horses, lol.
