Oh, I had a music fic idea in my head. Kara being kicked out of a girls pop band - thanks to Lobotomizer who is jealous of Kara's amazing vocal skills. And kara ends drunk in a bar where Eve finds her. Eve is a girflriend of Winn, who is manager of a symphonic power metal (don't mind my metal loving ass xD) band, where Mon-El is the lead guitarist. The main vocal of the bad kicked their asses and left the band just before they started touring with a new album and they are fucked if they don't find replaement. And well, none candidate is good enough and then Eve drags runken Kara to their place, they recognize a pop girl and are imediatelly NO FUCKING WAY, she is pissed off and screams and tehy are like... oh, she can scream.... Later Kara wakes up in her apartment, with aching head and some asshole knokicng to the door. It's Mon-El who came to take her to rehersal. What rehersal? He shows her a signed by her contract that makes her a part of the metal band, yay! And you can imagine the troubles along the way xD Thought about making Kara being taught by Cat Grant in the past, who was a classical vocal teacher and Cat being dissapointed when Lena asked Kara to join her band. And Kara really spreading her wings in the new position etc. And of course karamel bickering along the way, fans being super sceptical but warming up to her, because her vocal is amazing and karamel falling in love etc. Oh, and imagine Kara asking the badn what she should wear on the stage and they are like, dunno, wear whatever you want, and she wears some pink things xD and the crowd when they first sees her is like O.O and then she starts singing and all are floored.

okay but i DO agree on sasuke and naruto being rlly good friends at the beginning, back when they’re like in the academy or just starting out as genin. before kakashi essentially. i can see them as close friends who deny being close friends but who end up having sleepovers in their empty houses and eating all their meals together anyway. that’s why when naruto up and leaves sasuke feels his betrayal to konoha on a deeper level. because now two of the most important people left this village and he wants to know why.

for sasuke, what pushes him to chase after naruto is basically the same reason naruto chased sasuke in canon; to bring back his best friend. and for itachi, it would be for revenge, but also to solve the missing puzzle of the connection between his loving older brother and the uchiha slaughterer, ya know?

thinking about plasmashipping is so funny to me because in my aus (and a lot of people's fics and characterizations) whenever people write abt them it's a very devoted I'll do anything for you type of love even if eveyone knows it's probably the opposite in a way? (like compared to jaya,) it's so much easier than just I'll be your everything—it's not a no mistakes or I'll feel guilty type of relationship, they can be dumb and do so stupid shit without thinking and then the other would be like, yeah you go babe!! It's okay!! Cause I'm reckless too!!

The energies are completely different—i like nya with jay cause cough girlboss x malewife but also cause awhile she isn't the most physically affectionate person (likely due to her upbringing and also kai smothering her from childhood as anything relating to that as a sign of weakness, ie affection) she shows to care a lot about him in other ways in little tidbits through the seasons, mostly starting to become more prominent somewhere during s9 and 12 (at least in my eyes) with how she trusts him and does actually like him—Still, it's not fully comfortable on either end, despite their trust for each other, they still have to put some kind of front to be perfect for each other, (in the sense that while yes they do acknowledge their flaws, they don't want to disappoint their partner so the front is put up)

Plasma on the other hand, is kinda wild n dangerous, moreso in the literal way than in any degree to their relationship!! It's a lot more physical because its jay and he's one of the few non traumatised mfs that was counted for in the show—and is also a lot more comfortable than jaya, in the pda way and also in the I don't have to hide myself for anyone type of way. For them however, it's probably easier. First of all, both dumbasses so yeah. But for the other, it's kind of because they're dumbasses on why they work so well. It'd be pre established that yeah, one or the other they'd be a walking fire hazard to each other—it's there and they're basically like fuck that and date anyway!! Also, I'd like to think that their relationship is more of an escape than anything, they get caught up in each others antics and it's fun, so it's easier (not to say that they wouldn't talk more seriosuly about smth like that, but that'd be a long way into their relationship, as most would be jdjs) my hc is that when they wanted to date it was more of a chill, yeah you're my homie but i like the thought of kissing you and cuddling you more than anything deeper than that

(Part One)

Your feet pounded the pavement as you ran desperately to try and reach the coffee shop you were supposed to be at 30 minutes ago. The sun was just setting over the city, the fiery, golden hues turning the buildings into warm shades of brown and red.

Being out in the open in this costume, it was really strange. People were looking at you left and right, either giving you a smile or a look of confusion. Some college kid even yelled from his truck, “Padme!” as you crossed the street- it was really nerve wracking to get all that unwanted attention, and you couldn’t help but feel self conscious. All you wanted to do at that point was get to your supportive friends and have fun.

Peter was fidgeting in his seat, his toy lightsaber on the seat next to him, holding your chair from anyone sitting in it.

He had actually gone through a lot trying to make sure his costume was as accurate as possible. He scoured the internet for costume pieces, making some pieces himself- he even put a clip in braid like Anakin did in the movie in his hair. He didn’t know why he was nervous- he just knew how excited you were to do these costumes, and he didn’t want to let you down. Peter had liked you for a super long time, ever since you slept over at Neds house with him to help build his new Millenium Falcon set he got. He didn’t think you liked him back, but he still wanted to make you happy.

Peter looked back at his phone for the thousandth time it seemed for a text from you, but to no avail.

“Do you think she’s still coming?” Ned asked, his mask perched on his head as he sipped at his coffee, his black robes covering all of his body. MJ was slumped in her chair, her boots pecking out of her pink dress as she rested her feet on a chair, her curly hair pinned back slightly.

“She’s still coming Ned,” MJ answered, crossing her arms over her chest.

Peter sneaked a look at his phone again.

“You know, your phone gives off radiation when you use it, which can give you brain cancer,”MJ stayed, a small smirk on her face.

Peter jumped, not expecting her to say anything.

“Who said I was on my phone?” Peter smiled nonchalantly, trying to play off that he got caught.

“No one,” MJ replied seriously, raising her chin slightly, “I just said something interesting about phones.” She gave a smirk, knowing she had gotten Peter when his cheeks turned red. She looked over at the door, nudging Ned to look.

“Told ya.”

A breath of relief released from your lips as you saw the coffee shop. You walked through the door, a soft chime going throughout the store.

Ned was the first one you saw, a black robe wrapped around his shoulders. He waved frantically at you, you giving him a small smile as you walked over.

“Hey guys I’m sorry I’m late!” You smiled apologetically, looking at the group.

Peter turned around, and was in complete shock. You looked nothing short of amazing. You looked as if you were wearing the costume from the movie. Your makeup and hair was perfect, and he was just hoping his costume looked as good as yours. It was a completely different experience to see you in a costume- and you looked really good to him. The costume hugged your curves, and he didn’t want to stare- but at the same time, he did. He was seeing you in a new light, a new perspective, and he couldn’t take his eyes off of you.

Ned nudged Peter, snapping him out of his daze. He shook his head slightly, and realizing he was staring, began to blush deeply. He instantly moved the lightsaber on your seat, wishing he didn’t bring it- now he felt like a child with it sitting next to you.

You slide down onto the chair, just happy to be with the group. You didn’t see any disappoint on Peters face when you walked in, so you were a little happy that he didn’t think anything bad of you and your costume.

“You brought your lightsaber?” You smiled, pointing at the toy.

Peter nodded feverishly, still flustered.

“Yeah-Yeah,” he repeated, “I just thought- um- it’d be cool, to have it….” he drawled out, not knowing what to say, so he grabbed his coffee and began to chug it.

“Your costume looks great y/n,” Ned complimented, “it looks almost like the movie!”

You sighed in relief.

“Ahh thank god!” You exclaimed, “I was scared it would look weird to you guys- but you guys look awesome too! Especially you MJ.”

“I’m actually hating this Angelica costume,” MJ revealed, “dresses are definitely not my thing.”

You grinned, “I’d figure.”

You and MJ were very close, and you knew her really well- you figured she wouldn’t care for the dress.

“But hey, look on the bright side,” you laughed, “if a random dude decides to act rude, you can cuss him out while rapping!”

“Is that really a thing she does?” Ned asked, slight confusion on his face.

“ not really, more just the rap part. But its still cool,” you answered.

Peter turned to you, his empty coffee cup in his hand. “Did you I want anything, Y/n?” He asked.

“Oh no it’s okay I can get myself something, I brought my- !” You searched your body for your wallet, remembering-you didn’t have pockets.

You sighed in exasperation, shaking your head.

“No wallet?” He asked, a slight grin on his face.

“Nada.”

“It’s okay I’ll get something for you.”

You smirked at Peter, sizing him up. You didn’t want him to get you something- but you knew he wouldn’t let you, even if you said No.

You sighed, giving him a defeated smile. “I owe you one Parker.”

He smiled, his grin contagious. “What do you want?”

“Surprise me,” you winked at him, making Peter’s face turn red.

Ned and MJ gave a knowing smirk to each other, making you confused.

“What?” You laughed, perplexed.

Ned shook his head, laughing, as MJ pretended to inspect her finger nails.

“It’s nothing.” She smiled, the lie very obvious.

“You guys are hiding something,” you interrogated, “what is it?”

Ned shook his head, afraid MJ or you would say something that would lead to his friend’s secrets to come out.

He had stayed up countless nights for the last few months, reading Peter’s lovesick texts about how much he liked you and how much he wished he could tell you his feelings. He had dat through countless conversations between him and Peter where Peter planned elaborate plans to ask you out to the movies, the park, the new ice cream place you wanted to eat at-but never came to fruition because of how nervous he was to ask. Ned has told him countless times to just do it, the worst you could say was no, but Peter was always too worried he’d ruin the friendship between him and you if he asked you out. Ned already let MJ in the loop by accident a few weeks ago, and she had been making his life so frustrating around you because she liked to drop hints. He knew his friend would one day tell you-on his own time. He didn’t want to intervene with Peter.

“It’s-it’s nothing y/n,”Ned shook his head vigorously, “you don’t have to worry about it.”

You raised an eyebrow, not believing Ned.

“Are you sure?” You asked, “Because you guys are acting super weird the past few weeks- is it about Peter or something?”

“No no no!” Ned frantically said as MJ silently chuckled. “It’s nothing! Nothing-it’s just uh-“

Right as Ned was searching for a little white lie to tell you, Peter walked up to the table, holding out a coffee. You gave one last look, one that said “I’m going to figure it out.”

“Thanks Pete,” you smiled, taking a sip, “You’re costume is cool by the way.”

“Ah thanks y/n, but really,” Peter stuttered, “yours is way better.”

You scoffed.

“No way! I got this off of-Amazon!” You laughed, “you even got the Jedi braid, the lightsaber-hey Ned, you gotta lightsaber?”

“As a matter of fact,” Ned fumbled in his cloak, “I do!”

He proudly pulled out a saber, making the whole group laugh, happy to have a distraction from the heavy topic before Peter came.

You smiled, taking a sip of coffee, “let’s go get some gear for the night at Delmars, how about it?”

The sun was just setting now, the sky more blue than fiery red. Families were just emerging from their houses, the kids all dressed up in assortment of scary monsters, princesses, and of course, superheroes.

You all ran over to Delmars, acting completely free and goofy-you guys were excited for the night ahead. Of course, you couldn’t buy anything without your wallet, but being the gentleman Peter was, he bought you some candy even though you told him not to.

You all began to walk around the neighborhood, snacking on sweets and watching the trick-or-treaters. You were loving the atmosphere of this Halloween-it was spooky but almost in a kiddish way. It really wasn’t that scary, but nostalgic. The air was chilly, the moon was bright and shining, the sound of people laughing and screaming from delighted fright could be heard from every corner, pumpkin spice and sweets filled the air. You were with your friends, your crush, you were all bonding and having fun, and you never wanted to leave.

But before you knew it, the candy was all eaten, the families were beginning to slowly disappear back to their homes, and everyone was tired from the night.

“You guys wanna start heading back?” Ned ask, his mask in his hand

You sighed, wishing the night wouldn’t end.

“I guess…”

You all began to walk back, joking around and talking about the best costumes you saw. You first dropped off Ned, then began to walk to MJs house, saying bye once she got to her doorstep. You noticed her give Peter a smirk, his eyes avoiding contact as she closed the door.

You definitely knew something was up, but didn’t know what-and you were determined to figure it out. You hated having secrets kept from you, especially when they were blatantly obvious that it was about something revolving around you..

You both began to walk in silence, the street having a few more families than the last one. You and Peter were feeling nervous, being by yourselves. You still liked Peter a lot, and it worried you that your friends and Peter were acting strange. A pit in your stomach grew, scared that maybe Peter found out you liked him, or maybe he liked someone else.

Peter was feeling really awkward, knowing how close he was to you, and how alone you two were. He knew he needed to tell you something soon about how felt, but it almost felt he couldn’t do it. Ned has told him countless times to tell you, MJ was giving him mental signs to just do it-but he just couldn’t. He didn’t want to ruin the friendship he had with you if you didn’t feel the same. While both of you were thinking in silence, a little kid ran up completely dressed in a Trooper costume. Their head bobbed, the huge helmet making them look like a bobble head toy.

“Are you Anakin and Padme?” They asked loudly, making you both come back to your senses abruptly.

You smiled, blinking a few times from breaking out of your senses so quickly. “Actually we are! And you are…”

“Their Boba Fett,” Peter stated, grinning at the kid.

“I’m Jango!” The kid yelled accusingly, making sure he got it right.

“Right,right, sorry!” Peter chuckled.

A woman ran up, panting as she reached her child.

“Sammy! You can’t run away like that!” She scolded.

“But Mommy it’s Anakin and Padme!”

The mom turned to you and Peter, smiling apologetically.

“I’m sorry if she bothered you in any way, it’s just she really loves Star Wars, so seeing you two made her very happy. Not many girls her age are into what she likes, so seeing someone your age dressed up as characters she loves got her super excited.”

The little girl took off her mask, giving you both a toothy smile, her braid messy from the helmet.

You smiled warmly at the little girl, bending down to her level.

“You costume is awesome- I think you might be the coolest little girl I’ve ever met!”

“Is it alright if I get a picture with you two and her?” The mom asked, pulling out her phone.

“Of course!” You grinned. You both got a picture with the little girl, all of you posing in ridiculous poses ready for a movie poster.

“Got it!” The mom smiled, looking down at her phone. She looked at Peter and you, grinning.

“You guys are an adorable couple.”

Peter’s and your face instantly turned red, you both chucking from embarrassment.

“Um, were actually not-“ you tried to say.

“Of course you are!” The little girl interrupted, “your Anakin and Padme!”

You had no idea how to respond to the unexpected turn of events, so to your relief, Peter recovered first.

“Well, we can’t say anything, because the Jedi Order says I can’t be with Padme. So…I’m not.”

Peter winked at the little girl, and she giggled.

“Okay!” She giggled. “Your not boyfriend and girlfriend.” She put bunny ears around “not” with her hands, Peter letting her think you two were to not dampen her spirits.

Before she put her helmet back on, she gave you a hug, melting your heart. Peter held out his hand for a high five, and she gave him a hard slap on his hand, grabbing her Mom’s hand and heading

down the street.

You both looked at each other, the redness on your faces still there.

“Well,that-“ you breathed out, “was interesting.”

Peter rubbed the back of his neck, chuckling nervously.

“Yeah, it kinda was.”

“Thanks for that save.”

“Yeah, of course…”

Each of you wanted the same thing-wanted to be a “thing”,, but didn’t want to say the truth to each other. You were both terrified of the answer.You both stood there in awkward silence, not knowing what to do.

“We should probably start walking,” you said abruptly, laughing nervously.

“Uh, uh yeah! Sure,” Peter smiled, his hands fidgeting.

Each step to your house was cautious and full of nervousness. After that comment, there was an electricity between the two of you you both felt. As if you body’s were drawn to each other, yet you both were holding back.

You were making small talk, talking about anything you could think of to bring some normalcy back. It was a normal conversation and nothing out of the norm for you and Peter, but it felt different somehow. Your mind was racing, wondering if Peter felt the same way and why he was acting so strange. His mannerisms, his nervous ticks, in your mind either meant he was totally into you or he was so desperate to get away from you he wasn’t functioning right.

Peter was feeling like a nervous wreck, not wanting to act like such a dork around you. He was hyper aware of his body, each movement he was making, praying he didn’t do things that would make you uncomfortable or notice how nervous he was around you. You were talking as if nothing happened, and your confidence was making him even more nervous because it reminded him why he liked you so much. You were headstrong, funny, you weren’t afraid to be yourself, kind, and beautiful in his eyes. Being around someone that made him the best version of himself was exhilarating and made him feel alive, even if he turned into a nervous love sick puppy around them.

Your hands would accidentally brush on each other, and your heart would race, and Peter’s body would feel as if shocked with electricity. But you still kept up the conversation, even though both of you wanted nothing more for your skin to touch again.

You finally got back to your house, you giggling at a funny story Peter was telling you.

You smiled sadly, not wanting to go. The breeze was softly filtering through your hair, bringing butterflies in your stomach as you looked into Peter’s chocolate brown eye.

“This was…fun,” you smiled, looking down from nervousness.

“Yeah, it was,” Peter swallowed, terrified by what he was going to ask you.

He had been thinking of it all through the walk back to your house. If he didn’t ask, someone was going to, and it would eat him up inside if he’d never knew the answer. He wanted to be with you, and only you, and it ate up his body inside not knowing if you felt the same way.

“I was wondering if maybe…you wanted to do this again? Without-MJ…or Ned?”

You looked up abruptly, happy confusion on your face. Peter Parker…was asking you out?

“Like on a date?” You asked, a smile forming on your lips.

“Yeah!” Peter chuckled nervously,”you don’t have to if you don’t want to-I was only asking because I-I really like you-for a really long time-and I just wanted to-“

You stopped Peter, giving him a big hug.

“Of course Parker, why wouldn’t I?” You exclaimed, all the fears and doubts in your head dissipating, only leaving you with a feeling of ecstasy.

You gave Peter on a kiss on his cheek, a cheesy grin on your face.

“I guess Anakin and Padme are actually gonna be dating,huh?” You joked, smiling at Peter’s happily shocked face, a faint imprint of lipstick on his check.

“I-I guess so,” he smiled lazily, relieved that everything was working out in the best way possible.

And like... nobody knows they’re together bc nobody asked, -you know, they’re extra like that- and bc they kind of want to be less suspicious (since they’re researched as murder husbands maybe no one will connect the dots if they look separated.)

Will teaches Literature or Psychology or a scientific subject, while Hannibal of course teaches fuckin Philosophy (and fucks up all the students’ brains.), or maybe ancient latin/greek.

13x20 “Unfinished Business” Mirror Mirror on the Wall, May We Get a Doppelgänger Story After All? - A Dean Heavy “Review” of 13x20 “Unfinished Business”

As the title of this meta/spec already states this episode analysis for lack of a better word will focus on Dean most since him and his arc have always been what interested me most about SPN and lately kind of truly has become the only reason I still watch the show. I will however later on in this piece also talk about the other characters and bits of the episode that stood out to me. But forefront with this piece definitely definitely is Dean.

And to talk a bit more about him and his role within the latest episode I decided to go with the bit captured as the gifset above, because to me Dean’s drinking this episode served as a visual cue not just for the entirety of his mindset within the episode, but more general too and how it may contribute to what lies ahead for him.

We have seen Dean’s drinking become a bit more frequent again the past few episodes, but it has been quite a while if memory serves right that we have seen Dean drink from the flask as earlier in the episode.

In fact, I think the last time Dean had drunk from it on screen was at the beginning of the season during the “therapy session”. To me that actually nicely closes a cycle, because to me it seems that Dean’s depression and absolute readiness to lay his head to rest is at an all time high again after it had subsided slightly after Cas returned. Nothing drove Dean’s tiredness and his wish for things to just be “over soon” home like the ending scene.

If this episode cemented one thing for me, it is that Dean is tired, he is done and he knows that something is coming for him. And not just due to Billie’s ominous words. To me it seems Dean knows more than he lets on and that he has a plan, because to me the whole framing of Dean this episode especially called back to S5 when Dean was about to say yes to Michael. Now, I don’t suggest that that is happening now (could also be Dean’s wound from the AU indeed is causing more issues or he made some other deal or just knows he’ll sacrifice himself no matter what, because he is tired and yes, tired Dean seemed all episode, tired and done), but it certainly could fit with other parts of the episode that served as major Dean mirrors imo this episode.

One of the big Dean mirrors imo was Kevin Tran (btw I think this episode marked Osric’s best SPN performance to date - really he deserves some standing ovations for this). Because while Dean on the surface looks more “put together” and he hides it behind a mask and stance of “annoyance” and “gruffness”, to me the way we see Kevin here is actually how it looks within Dean as well. And Kevin’s entire speech about never having believed in anything until the end of the world happened and everyone around him started to die. And then God chosing him and he not even being able to fathom what that means and how he had hoped that Michael would save the world, but ended up doing the opposite. All of that to me aligns very well with Dean’s own story too. We know that Dean has always struggled with having faith or believing that “good things do happen” and just like Kevin him and his brother experienced that everyone around them dies. And then just in S11 God again chose Dean, told him the world would be save in his and his brother’s hands (even if he left), because Dean is the firewall between light and darkness and Dean too wondered “what the hell that would even mean”. So yeah, to me their struggles here line up perfectly and to me it might hint at Dean making a deal (maybe with Michael or with someone/something else) in which he would offer himself up (compare that also to Jack’s “What’s the point if I can’t keep them safe?”) for the safety of his loved ones and the world. And especially this piece of dialogue here where Kevin is framed as a christ figure with the cross in the back felt ominously close to how the season may end...

That even if the Winchesters may win some at the end, they may lose more [as a brief side note here: tbh I was so angry about Dabb having the audacity to now use this rework of what should have been Crowley’s last words and that were so important to Mark Sheppard and cut them in the end only to bring them back now in reversal, because really to me it shows a lot about what kind of people the people are that are currently running the show, I find it disgusting, but anywho...]

And even though I still don’t think Michael!Dean is truly what will end up being the case I have to admit if they wanted to with the Kevin parallel (And as captured above the amount of halo shots with Dean this episode, the above is just one of many would fit to that - the shot actually also reminded of this one

in 9x21 “King of the Damned” where Dean also “sidelined” Sam to keep him save. So while last episode didn’t give me any feelings on Dean being back to MoC!Dean ways, this decision of his felt ominous and foreboding - I personally think in the end Dean will either yield the archangel blade or the Lance of Michael or will die/be wounded by one of those) this episode to me they laid enough groundwork to assume that maybe Dean has already “made contact” with Michael and agreed to something and offering himself up. Because it may not be about dying as Kevin told Jack, but about breaking a person enough for them to give themselves up due to the guilt they may feel (”You don’t know the things I have done” is a line that Demon!Dean for example used just like Kevin) and the lack of options they see for themselves to go on. And while Kevin dies here not for the greater good, but because he is at the end of his rope, I could see something similar happen with Dean only that it would be more of an action for the greater good (and btw the toy soldier in the AU to me also called back perfectly not just to the one stuck in the ashtray of the Impala, but to Dean himself, who was always reffered to as “a good little soldier”, a “blunt instrument” - really the writing in this regard and how it diminishes Dean as a person, but treats him like an object goes a long way back and fits to the whole vessel theme).

So Kevin’s death here rather rings some alarm bells of how bad it is going to get in the last 3 episodes. [as another brief side note here, I felt it rather unnescessary of them to show Jack’s wings here, because well, we have already known he has them for a while, this just seemed a little “hello causal viewer just so you KNOW” and well, I dislike things of that kind so... Plus: Can’t also say I love that they now also turned Mary’s words to Dean into a new thing here with an angel now watching over Mary (more on her a bit later as well). Seriosuly, yawnnnn, I don’t need that. It isn’t sweet or touching but just ughhh to me, but then again I am just not a fan of Dabb’s showrunning, so...]   And the other Dean mirrors in the episode didn’t make that feeling go away at all, but rather strengthened that bad stuff lies ahead. Because to me the other huge Dean mirror was Gabriel/Loki.

I had talked about the aspect of doppelgängers and the two halves of each person a lot before during the MoC arc and especially in relation to Dean’s arc in comparison to Charlie and Dark!Charlie and it seems to me that entire thread the show revisited with Gabriel going after his “alter ego” Loki. We basically got another doppelgänger story here in which someone has to face a side of “himself” he may not like as Gabriel told Dean about in this moment.

and well, I personally have always headcanoned and hoped the show would go this route with Dean after the mark was removed, because to me Dean was left “in pieces” after that and still isn’t whole again (which is why I always liked the idea of story where Dean puts himself back together again in a similar fashion as Sam did in S6 as I talked about also in one the last asks I replied to). Now, what to me made the Gabriel/Loki thing a possible Dean mirror or rather piece of foreshadowing is (and yeah it might be a bit farfetched, but hey this is spec and it is mean to just throw ideas around) how one could argue Michael or Lucifer are “doppelgängers” of the Winchesters, because they serve as counterparts as vessels so to speak. Looking at Gabriel’s “witness protection”-stunt and the way he points at Dean here. Of course it is meant as “you are right”, but to me this episode just heavily suggested that maybe we’ll get some sort of Dean in “witness protection” as well of some sort. Because why the hell put so much time into exploring this whole deal with Gabriel so late in the season if not to use it in some fashion (okay, of course it could be they don’t do anything further with it lol it is Dabb after all, and so far it also seems the wound was the same thing - both would be a shame if not further used imo)?

So to me there exists potential in a possible doppelgänger!Dean arc at the end of the season, because, well... didn’t anybody else think Loki’s clothing seemed awfully fitting to those we saw from BTS pics of Jensen?

Just era wise... It’s very little to go on, but I could imagine some sort of scenario in which Dean does something really dangerous in order to save the world so that he would need such “protection” (Hell, who says that Dean didn’t strike a deal with the trickster if not Michael or some other powerful being?) and hence the Non!Dean pictures? Even the trickster’s entire conversation with Dean and how he granted Gabriel this protection (if walking away from his family to me would absolutely align and fit with Dean “preparing” Sam for him to not be around for much longer and maybe not due to death, but something else) would fit into Dean’s arc.

In this regard I also found Gabriel’s tale about how he met Loki rather interesting as to me it felt also a fitting parallel to Michael in the cage. Gabriel said he had stumbled upon Loki bound in a cave while hiking the fjords while a snake spewed venom into Loki’s eyes. If you ask me you could also read this as Michael trapped in the cage where he was driven insane by Lucifer (commonly depicted as also the snake). So what if Dean saved Michael from the cage somehow just like Gabriel saved Loki? What if he owed Dean one and they made a deal? In any case to me this whole set up of facing up against yourself or “someone who wears your face”, your alter ego, dark side, shadow self, however you want to call it, could also nicely lead into a Michael against Michael scenario with all of the text and subtext in this episode...

And last but not least in relation to Dean’s talk with the trickster, something that stood out to me again was the topic of “John Winchster”.

It’s not the first time he came up this season and I have always said that Dean would need another “good bye” to truly let his father’s ghost rest (though what are the chances for that to happen with Heaven going out of business - though I suppose they’ll use Jack to power up Heaven again - unless the allusions and revisit of Crowley’s words were meant to put Jack as new Ruler of Hell, which I doubt).

So... I said this before, but I truly think that by the end of this season we will get a JDM scene of some sort - even if it just lasts for 10 seconds. Maybe it’ll be tied to Dean dying/close to dying or being in the veil or tied to Mary possibly dying and seeing him again or just simply due to all ghosts/souls crashing to Earth with Heaven falling lol. Which brings me to the other bits and characters of the episode that I want to briefly write about, I’ll do that behind the cut. But I have to say it seems whatever will happen with Dean, I get the feeling it will be heavy - sad thing is they could have built all of it up better over the whole season - maybe then I actually would have liked at least some of it lol, but yeah... I hope against hope for good things for Dean!Girls. What are the odds though...

Anyway, on to the rest with a few cliffnotes on other parts of the episode I liked/disliked/that stood out to me:

First and foremost I need to briefly mention Mary here and her whole regret/pain/guilt thing. I mean, it’s nice to know she finally realized she made mistakes, but sadly the show ruined her character so much for me that these scenes here where she was all “motherly” just enraged me, because really after this here

I wanted to scream: You didn’t lose any boys, you fucking abandoned them for a whole season!!! So yeah, not a fan of the Mary scenes at all, they felt cheap to me.

Something else I also greatly disliked was the tone shift in the episode between the worlds. I get that they wanted to be a bit Tarantino with everything Gabriel, but really to me this stuff doesn’t work. Not anymore. It just feels like SPN is a parody of itself at those times. And it’s a shame because I actually really loved Richard Speight’s acting as Loki/Gabriel. His anger, etc. was spot on. Though really, him suffering for 8 years... Please, compare that to Dean and 40 years in Hell or Sam with almost 120 years in the cage. Suck it up, Gabriel! ;P

And last but not least for a shot I really liked lol, because, well, Sam and Dean are literally Gabriel’s wings uhm wingmen here. ;)

Other than that I liked the episode. But probably only because of the focus I read into it in regards to Dean which may not end up being anything at all lol. But yeah, Jensen’s acting/my worry about Dean surely carried me through this episode.
