y'know what really gets me about arcane? the way that from the very first scene, nearly every action the characters take leads to their downfall.

((ekko informs vi of a good loot, which sets things in motion.

vi leads her siblings topside, ultimately dooming them.

marcus makes a deal with silco, leading to grayson and benzo's deaths, and vander's abduction.

vander tries to help, but his actions ultimately lead to their doom. (one could even argue that his part in it started long before that fateful day.)

powder finds the stones, and her attempts to help with them lead to the death of her family.))

these are just from the first act, too. the decisions they made, the actions they (and others) took, still define the story now. and rewatching it, wondering if a different choice, a different answer, a different anything would have led to a better ending absolutely wrecks me. these characters, as well intentioned as they may have been (ehh marcus), never stood a chance. I'm not sure if this is doomed by the narrative, or by their own actions, but either way the writers did an astounding job.
