Upgrading to a Billet Flywheel for Predator 212 Non-Hemi: Benefits and Installation
When it comes to enhancing the performance and safety of your Predator 212 non-hemi engine, upgrading to a billet flywheel is a crucial modification. Billet flywheels are crafted from a single piece of high-grade aluminum, offering superior strength, improved performance, and increased safety compared to stock flywheels. This article explores the benefits of using a billet flywheel for Predator 212 non hemi engine and provides essential tips for installation.
Key Benefits of a Billet Flywheel for Predator 212 Non-Hemi
Enhanced Engine Performance
One of the primary advantages of a billet flywheel is its impact on engine performance. Billet flywheels are significantly lighter than their cast counterparts, which reduces rotational mass. This reduction allows the engine to rev faster and deliver more responsive acceleration. For performance enthusiasts, this means quicker throttle response and improved overall engine efficiency.
Increased Durability and Strength
Billet flywheels are known for their exceptional durability. The manufacturing process involves precision machining from a solid block of aluminum, resulting in a flywheel that can withstand higher stress and RPMs without deforming or cracking. This strength is particularly beneficial for high-performance applications where the engine is subjected to extreme conditions.
Improved Safety
Safety is a paramount concern when upgrading engine components, and billet flywheels excel in this area. Stock cast flywheels can fail under high stress, potentially causing catastrophic damage to the engine and posing a risk to the operator. Billet flywheels, with their superior strength and resistance to failure, provide a safer alternative for high-RPM and high-stress environments.
Better Heat Dissipation
The aluminum construction of billet flywheels also aids in better heat dissipation compared to cast iron flywheels. This improved thermal management helps maintain optimal engine temperatures, reducing the risk of overheating and prolonging the life of the engine components. Installation Tips for a Billet Flywheel on Predator 212 Non-Hemi
Gather Necessary Tools and Materials
Before starting the installation, ensure you have all the required tools and materials. This includes a torque wrench, socket set, flywheel puller, and the new billet flywheel. Having everything on hand will streamline the process and reduce the risk of errors.
Prepare the Engine
Begin by disconnecting the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting. Next, drain the oil from the engine to avoid any spills during the installation. Place the engine on a stable work surface where you have ample room to maneuver.
Remove the Stock Flywheel
Using a socket set, remove the nut securing the stock flywheel. Once the nut is removed, use a flywheel puller to carefully detach the flywheel from the crankshaft. Be cautious during this step to avoid damaging the crankshaft or other components.
Install the Billet Flywheel
Position the billet flywheel onto the crankshaft, ensuring it is seated correctly. Secure it in place with the provided nut, and use a torque wrench to tighten the nut to the manufacturer’s specified torque setting. Proper torque is crucial to ensure the flywheel functions correctly and safely.
Reassemble the Engine
Once the billet flywheel is installed, reassemble any parts you removed during the process, such as the engine cover and spark plug wire. Refill the engine with oil, if necessary, and perform a final check to ensure everything is properly secured and in place.
Test the Engine
After completing the installation, start the engine and perform a few test runs to verify that the flywheel is functioning correctly. Pay attention to any unusual noises or vibrations, which could indicate an issue with the installation.

Comparative analysis: conventional flame retardant lamps system and non-explosive LED lighting
In today's era of technological progress, lighting systems have undergone significant transformations. Traditional lighting systems are being replaced by more energy-efficient and safer alternatives that utilize LED light sources. This blog provides a comprehensive comparison between conventional flameproof lighting systems and advanced explosion-proof LED lights in terms of energy efficiency, safety, cost-effectiveness, durability, environmental impact, and applications.
Exploring Conventional Flameproof Lighting Systems Conventional flameproof lighting systems rely on inefficient bulbs such as incandescent, fluorescent, and high-intensity discharge lamps (e.g., sodium vapor or mercury vapor). These systems consume excessive energy, generate heat, and have short lifespans. Their fragile construction and heat emissions pose safety risks in flammable environments. Additionally, they require ballasts for certain lamps, resulting in longer start-up times and unsuitability for frequent on-off cycles. Flameproof enclosures for these systems are bulky and heavy, requiring robust support and secondary retention systems.
Introduction to Explosion-Proof LED Lighting Explosion-proof LED lights represent a revolutionary lighting solution specifically designed for hazardous environments. They offer notable advantages, including low energy consumption, reduced heat generation, and an extended lifespan. LED lights are renowned for their durability and reliability, enduring even the harshest conditions.
Energy Efficiency Comparison Explosion-proof LED lights surpass conventional lighting systems in terms of energy efficiency. They consume less energy while providing equal or superior brightness. The utilization of advanced LED chips in these fixtures makes them over 60% more energy-efficient than traditional lighting. Switching to LED lights results in significant energy savings, reduced operational costs, and a smaller carbon footprint.
Safety Comparison Explosion-proof LED lights prioritize safety in hazardous environments by combining intrinsic safety, encapsulation, and flameproof protection. These advanced fixtures are compact, lightweight, and cost-effective, featuring limited or no sparking components and improved air ventilation options. LED drivers replace conventional ballasts, allowing for frequent on-off cycles and lower failure rates. Additionally, LED lights reduce the risk of breakage, minimizing accidents caused by shattered glass.
Durability and Lifespan Comparison Explosion-proof LED lights excel in durability and lifespan, as they are designed to withstand harsh conditions. In contrast, conventional lighting systems are more prone to damage and degradation, necessitating frequent replacements and maintenance.
Application Comparison Explosion-proof LED lights are particularly suitable for hazardous industries, including oil and gas, mining, manufacturing, and marine sectors. Their durability, safety features, and energy efficiency make them an ideal choice for environments with flammable gases, vapors, or dust. Conventional lighting systems lack the necessary safety measures for high-risk settings.
Conclusion Explosion-proof LED lighting systems provide energy efficiency, safety features, durability, and a reduced environmental impact compared to conventional lighting systems. Prolux International LLC, a leading supplier of explosion-proof lights in the UAE, offers high-quality products for hazardous areas, including explosion-proof cable glands, flame-resistant cables, junction boxes, control panels, isolators, plugs, and sockets. These products meet stringent requirements and hold ATEX/IECEx certifications. Partnering with Prolux can enhance lighting infrastructure and create a safe work environment.

Humans are Weird “In the Zone”
From the Intergalactic Journal of Biology and Mechanics.
The study of the human species has gone on for significantly less time than others, though during that time we have discovered oddities about the human race that are not present in any other species in the galaxy.
It was originally thought that the human race possessed a cortical system non-conducive to sustained attention. Research from both human and non-human scientists have determined that the average human attention span may only last for 25 minutes at a time before falling away significantly. Employers with human employees are even encouraged to give the humans many breaks during a work related period, or support a system that allows the humans to switch between tasks at a rate, which keeps their attention and productivity.
However, certain sources claim to have seen humans keep attention for expanded segments of time. This attention expands beyond the category of normal attention and is described as a state where the human does not process the passage of time, outside distraction, sound, pain, or even emotion other than, perhaps, joy.
Human Athletes and creative minds have described this experience of advanced attention in slang terms as “The Zone.”. Relatively scholarly sources have examined this heightened attention as a slope on a graph between skill and Challenge. If the skill and the challenge follow each other along the line, than flow can be experienced, and the level of heightened attention becomes more likely. If the skill is high and the challenge is low, than boredom is experienced. If the skill is low and the challenge is high anxiety is experienced. In both cases, “The Zone” cannot be reached.
While, naturally humans tend to be less productive than their non-human counterparts during normal work periods, within this heightened state of attention and and capacity, the human can outdo their counterparts by almost five times the rate of productivity and performance.
If you wish to have productive human employees you must find and challenge skilled workers in the working environment, and only after that will you see such heightened productivity
The ship seemed ready to shake itself in half. Even as he motored his way down the hall, Krill was almost thrown against the doorways in danger of rupturing his delicate hydrogen sack keeping him afloat and upright at all times.
Around him sirens blared and long red wavelengths washed through the ship from the warning lights. Though he did not hear sounds like the humans did, the radio frequencies given off at his behest were frequent and distracting.
Finally making his way to the set of stairs, He raced upwards using his four limbs to steady against the railing as he glided onto the bridge where pandemonium had taken a tight hold.
Chaos flowed around him in a confused wave as the human bridge crew attempted to regain control of the ship. The ship’s hull cameras were being projected onto the far wall giving view of an asteroid field of unknown size hidden as it were by a thick cloudy wall of space dust.
The nebula was massive, many lightyears across stretching out into infinity in towering arcs of darkened dust backlit by an unseen star. Where the light reached, waves of short and long reflected wavelengths brought blue and red to his eyes.
The ship rocked again as one of the outer propulsion units made contact with the rock. The deck around them bucked sending Krill skidding across the floor. Those humans, that had not the foresight to strap themselves in, ended up flat on the deck. The strength of the impact was enough to knock unfastened equipment from the far wall and hurl it halfway across the room. Those who didn’t react quickly enough cried out in pain as they were struck.
Krill gripped tightly to the closest railing using his four upper limbs to suspend himself safely in place before deflating his hydrogen sack to avoid rupturing. The weight on his lower extremities increases as his buoyancy decreased.
Above the clatter of the ship’s deck, he heard a clatter from behind followed by a string of creative curses.
A second later, the captain came stumbling onto the bridge catching his prosthetic foot on the lip of the stair taking him painfully down to his other knee.
“S***!” He yelled gritting his teeth as he limped back to his feet rubbing his good, and only, knee, “Status report!” He bellowed silencing the other humans with the power of his voice.
In a show of deference to their most dominant male, the rest of the human crew grew silent.
“Sir, the emissions from the nebula is playing havoc with our navigations equipment. We didn’t see them until it was too late.”
The captain nodded marching up to the command chair, placed centrally in the bridge were all stations were in full view of his eyes, and sat down strapping himself in, “What do we have that WILL work.”
From the other side one of the females shook her head, “Radar, and I would only trust short wave at this point. We cannot risk waiting for the ping to get back to us while inside the field.”
The captain gave a grunt, “That’s no better than the visual field at this point.”
One of his hands flicked downwards, and the command chair swiveled. Two sets of joysticks clicked upwards from opposing armrests while two foot-pedals clicked into place under his feet. A visor rolled down from the headrest hissing into place as it dropped over his face giving him a partial view from one good eye.
Krill quickly hauled himself along the floor, “Captain, this decision is unwise. Operating the ship manually in your condition is reckless.”
The look he received from the human then was unsettling enough to remind him that the captain was ranked as an A-1 apex predator, and could have ripped him apart if he really wanted to.
“What because I’m missing a leg and an eye.” The human snapped, “Need I remind you that outside of 30 feet binocular cues are almost useless, besides we have no other options, and no one else here is trained to manually pilot a ship anyway.”
Krill wilted.
The captain’s expression softened, “I’m sorry, Krill, I didn’t mean to snap, but this is my only option, and Ill be damned if I let anything happen to my crew.”
Krill gave an uncertain nod but kept his mouth shut.
The captain nodded and looked up giving a thumbs up to one of his officers, “Lieutenant, run the manual program, the rest of you strap in and pray to whatever deity that we survive this.”
Krill scurried over to an auxiliary seat glancing at the next passenger over.
“Manual program?”
The human gave him a signature reckless grin, “You’ll see.”
Up at the captain’s chair, the man had removed his eye patch to reveal a metallic aperture where his empty socket had once been.
Krill stared in shock.
The captain grinned, “Thought I’d give myself a few upgrades as compensation for loosing an eye.”
A metallic snap later and the captain was wired directly into the ship.
The lieutenant gave a thumbs up, and the captain nodded, “Hit it.”
Krill wasn’t sure what he should have expected, but it surely wasn’t the frantic drum line and roll of electric guitars that suddenly overtook the bridge.
The captain gave a loud shout, one that Krill now recognized as a human war cry, he wasn’t sure if there was a true meaning behind it, but if he were to give a translation he would say that it meant the human was telling odds and statistics to go to hell because humans didn’t follow the proper rules of survival. In other words he was challenging surmounting odds, and he was sure he would win.
That’s when the ship rolled, and the world around him became a confusing mass of color and noise.
The asteroid field might as well have been a wall of impenetrable stone, but still the ship, not made for maneuvering, cut through pours in the stone skin with precision that only a well tuned supercomputer should have been able to do.
Whenever the ship leveled out, and Krill could finally regain his composure, he saw the captain sitting in his chair single eye fixed on the visual field. Teeth gritted in an expression of animalistic joy and maddening concentration. Men and women screamed in terror as the ship rolled around them, but not once did his expression waver.
At one point, the ship was struck by something caching them off path to be thrown sideways. The crew was assaulted by flying debris from unbound equipment. The Captain bled freely from nose and gouge in his scalp, but even as blood trickled down his face and neck he remained fixed with the same joyous intensity as if he hadn’t noticed.
Every movement he made, every visual calculation, the human was not mistaken. No matter the noise, no matter the distraction. Krill wouldn’t have believed it if he didn’t see it. This man, who was known for growing distracted in a matter of seconds, stayed fixed on his monitor for hours maneuvering them past insurmountable odds without the aid of advanced calculations and only his flawed human mind and body to guide them.
A last few moments of terrible horror as the ship took a vertical up an asteroid wall, rolled past a set of pillars and broke outwards into open space. The ship slowed and then the engines released. The ship floated forward on it’s remaining momentum.
The captain rested back in his seat with a sigh of deep exhaustion though his eyes glittered with an intoxicating joy.
The bridge erupted into a mixture of cheers and groaning.
The look on the captain’s face was proof of another human oddity Krill had only seen a few times. Like most species do drugs to get a high, the human brain injects its own drug as a chemical reward. In other words, humans can make themselves high and from near death experiences no less all after disregarding normal human behavior to concentrate for hours at a time.
News of this sort of thing not only sparked research on the topic of human concentration , but ended up starting a black market trade of the human reward chemical known as Dopamine.
Humans were the universe’s new high.

Winterizing your apartment can be a chore even in the best of times, especially if you don’t want to complain to your landlord or create problems that will cost money if you move out.
On the other hand, dedicated apartment winterization products can be quite expensive.
If you are tired of high electric bills and drafty rooms, you can try these 20 inexpensive methods to winterize your apartment on a budget.
Find out Where the Drafts and Cold Spots Are
Before you start any winterization project, figure out where all the problem spots are. This will help you discover which areas need addressing so that you don’t waste time or money on areas that don’t require attention.
These simple tests can also be used to help you determine whether or not you were successful in deploying any given solution.
Drafts from the outside are likely to be the biggest cause of heat leaks in your apartment, so you will need to find out where they are so they won’t drain your heat out of the house and the money out of your pockets!
This smart device will help you slash an excess of 70% off your power bill overnight…
Start off by making sure all fans and incoming heat/cooling registers are closed off. Next, light some incense and walk around your apartment. Pay attention to areas where the smoke moves, as well as which direction it is going. Make notes on a sticky note and put them where attention is needed. You could also note each area in a notebook so that you can follow each one more easily.
Temperature and humidity levels vary from one part of a room to another, so it will be to your advantage to see exactly how these changes develop over time. You can purchase inexpensive battery powered thermometer/barometer units and place at least 5 or 6 in each room.
Observe the temperature and water vapor changes over time to get a better feel for the air currents and circulation in the room. As you seal off leaks or make other changes, see how this affects the temperature and water vapor in each area.
Replace Energy Efficient Bulbs With Incandescent Bulbs
Even though incandescent bulbs require more electricity, they also release a good bit of heat. Therefore, when you use these bulbs at night, they will give you light, and also increase the temperature in the room.
If you cannot seal up a particular draft, the heat from the lamp will also result in warmer air being pushed inward instead of cold.
Remove Lamp Shades
When using incandescent light bulbs, it never hurts to remove the lamp shade. This will allow heat to escape all the way around the bulb and release it into the rest of the room faster.
Use Plastic Bags to Create Wall Hangings
Chances are, you have already heard about wall rugs or other fabric wall hangings that will cut off drafts from the outer walls. Unfortunately, even less than attractive wall hangings can be a bit expensive. To add insult to injury, if they are too heavy, you may not be able to install them without ruining the wall.
Rather than purchase pre-made wall hangings, you can use rope or “yarn” made from plastic shopping bags, and then braid that into mats, as the plastic will still trap cold air and act as an insulator. Just make sure you keep the wall hangings far enough away from lamps or other potential sources of heat, and also from light and power sockets that may emit sparks.
Cover Floors With Rag Rugs
If your apartment is on the first floor or in the basement, a good bit of cold may be coming up through the floor. While it is possible to find area rugs at a reasonable price, you can also make a heavy rug from old rags. Just cut the rags into strips and braid them, much as you would braid plastic bags for wall hangings.
Needless to say, if you are on the second floor or higher, it may actually be a bad idea to have rugs or floor insulators. As long as your downstairs neighbor is using heat in the apartment below, it may suit your needs to simply let it rise up through the floor boards.
World’s Smallest Battery Will Power Your House For More Than 2 Days!
That being said, you will still need to evaluate the impact of crawl spaces that may have air leaks from outside the building. Incense testing and thermometers will give you more information to work with.
Make Sure Heating Ducts and Registers are Clean
Dust and debris will always accumulate in central heating ducts. You can still try to eliminate some of the blockage by reaching down as far as you can to vacuum out any dust you can reach.
In a similar fashion, if the fins on heat registers are bent or warped, it is time to replace them. These fins help transmit heat, but they will be inefficient if they are bent or ruined.
Use Heavy Drapes or Curtains at Night
Since windows tend to be one of the biggest problems in the winter months, you will need to block them off and insulate them as much as possible during the evening hours. Use drapes, heavy curtains, or anything else that will block off as much air flow as possible.
Choose white or light colors because they do not absorb heat, so it will stay in the room. If you can’t afford heavy drapes, fill a trash bag with smaller shopping bags and fit it into the window.
Insulate the Ceiling
Regardless of the floor you live on, insulating the ceiling is very important because warm air always moves upward. Rather than let the heat escape, you can use foam insulating sheets or even tape plastic bags to the ceiling.
Just make sure no flammable material is near lamp fixtures, fans, or air registers.
Use Tin Foil to Keep Heat In
If you are using incandescent light bulbs, try putting some tin foil behind them. This will reflect more light and heat back into the room. Tin foil can also be used on walls near windows to help redirect light and heat into the room.
Simply put the tin foil up in areas where you see light hitting the wall.
Reverse the Direction of Your Ceiling Fan
During the summer months, ceiling fans will pull warm air upward and away from your living area. When you reverse the direction of the fan, warm air that has been rising will be pushed back down.
Just keep the fan set to low for the best effect.
Let the Sun in During Daylight Hours
If you pay attention to the movement of the sun around your apartment, you will see that there are times when a good bit of sun flows into each window. Open the curtains or drapes during these hours, and you will get a good bit of heat at no extra cost.
Don’t forget to shut the drapes when the sun moves out of an optimal position.
It is also possible to store some of the heat from the sun so that you can use it later on. Simply put hot water bottles or bricks on the windowsill at peak light hours. Even if the bricks or bottles only get a bit warm, they can still be carried to other parts of the apartment to cool off and release heat into the area.
Use Fireproof Material to Insulate Electric Outlets
As you test for air leaks in your apartment, you may be surprised to find some fairly large ones around electrical outlets and wall switches. Contrary to popular belief, there is something you can do to insulate these areas.
Most hardware stores sell fireproof insulating material that you can use safely around electricity boxes. Just remove the plastic face plate and follow the directions on the package.
Do not forget to throw the circuit breaker or pull the fuses so that no current is flowing through the box while you are working.
Increase or Maintain Water Vapor in the Air
When you increase heat in the air, it drives away moisture. Aside from making your apartment uncomfortably dry, the lack of moisture also reduces the capacity of the air to retain heat. Keep tubs of water near heating vents or near fans to increase the water vapor.
You can check on the results with barometer thermometer combos to see if cold spots improve from the addition of this water vapor.
Stop Air Drafts Around Doors
Next to windows, your biggest problems will come from doors. Air leaks can be stopped with folded up paper that you can remove and replace as needed. If you have especially large leaks under the door itself, you can use towels or rags to create a door “snake”.
Simply wedge the fabric under the door to keep warm air from escaping.
Place a Screen or Other Barrier Behind Doors
Doors can also be complicated because of the hinges. Since there can be a good bit of air space in this area and leaky molding, it will be to your advantage to find some way to block off these drafts.
If you cannot use caulking or other theorization aides, it may still be possible to place a screen or other barrier just inside the doorway. Just angle it so that the cold air cannot get as far into the room or move as quickly. Even though these screens will not completely cut off the draft, they will keep more of the cold in one area.
Insulate Windows With Plastic
There are many ways to insulate windows with plastic. First, you can use the pre-manufactured kits that make use of hair dryers to form-fit the plastic to your windows. You can also make window covers from clear vinyl, wood, and felt.
If the molding is very new, or you don’t want to disrupt it, then simply use masking tape to hold the plastic in place. Use wood spaces under curtain rods to create an airtight seal that won’t leave marks on the molding or walls.
Use Foam or Caulking to Seal Window Cracks
Over the years, more than a few tenants have found themselves wishing they could caulk up an air leak in a window or door. At the same time, dealing with a landlord that doesn’t want this kind of work done by the tenant can create all kinds of problems.
Today, there are all kind of non-permanent foam and caulk products that can be used for this purpose. Just try them on a hidden area to make sure you can apply and remove the material easily.
Once you are certain you understand how the product works, you can go ahead and seal off all the cracks and problem areas. Later on, if you decide to move, all you have to do is take down the foam or caulk before leaving.
Make Sure Storm Windows and Doors are Closed
As simple as it may sound, you may not even realize that your screen windows have a second pane of glass that can be lowered over the screen during the winter months. If you do notice a second pane of glass, simply lower it into place to create an airspace between the inner window pane and the storm window.
Check on your storm door to see if it also has a pane of glass that can be lowered. It should be noted that lowering storm windows will help some, but will not cut off all drafts from windows and doors.
Loose molding, worn window tracks, and lost insulation between the window and the wall will still let heat escape. These issues will also have to be addressed by other means such as using caulk, plastic covering or wall hangings.
Run a Box Fan by Vents and Electric Heaters
Once you have a good sense of the air flow around each room in your apartment, you are bound to realize that most of the heat from air registers and radiators won’t go very far from the source. On the other hand, even using a box fan on a low setting will pull the air much further into the room without requiring more heating effort.
Set the fan up so that the motor side of the fan is facing the air register. In this orientation, the fan will be pulling warm air forward into the room as it is released from the register. You should feel a warm breeze in any direction that you point the fan.
Do not forget to allow enough room for the fan motor to have plenty of ventilation and access to cooler air. Even though the heat registers will not produce enough heat buildup to start a fire, a fan motor can produce a good bit of heat while it is running. It is best to leave a little bit of space in order to further extend the life of the motor.
If you are using an electric heater, you can cut down as much as 1/3 off the heater usage by putting a fan behind the heater. Just make sure the fan is pushing air from behind the heater and into the area that you want to warm up. High to medium settings can also be used on colder days and nights to create a warm draft instead of a cold one.
Use a Good Quality Filter on Furnace Inlets
Depending on where your apartment is located, you may have an inlet in your room that takes air into the furnace. Even though your landlord may supply the filter for this vent, it never hurts to see what kind is installed.
Since this vent is the main source of dust entry into the central heating system, it may be to your advantage to use a better filter. This will reduce the amount of clogging in the system that ultimately reduces the air flow in the registers.
Most, if not all air handler systems can handle at least a Merv 10 filter. By contrast, most of the blue fiberglass filters are, at best, a Merv 4 or 5.
If you have problems with odors in the apartment, see if you can get permission to install a Merv 9 filter with activated carbon in it. In most cases, your landlord will probably change the filter every three months. This is one place where you may need to ask permission to make a small change as part of your winterization plans.
You can winterize your apartment without spending a fortune or asking your landlord to make dozens of changes. In most cases, you can do these tasks in just a few minutes, or develop a new and rewarding hobby. And the best thing is, that it will save your budget too!

The city of Arxora was a bustle of life that was full of secrets, governed by the Aronite Order, it was a city of faith and peace held together by little white lies. Veronika grew up in this city, tried to find all its secrets as an investigative journalist. Yet it was only in the past few starcycles that she had discovered the greatest secrets. As she walked her eyes caught the many different forms of dress, ranging from overtly clad to overly covered. This was for many reasons, the most important of which to keep with the status quo. For in this city, the normal and abnormal thrived.
Humans who worshipped the light, immortals who feared it. Secret spiritual beasts, beast-kind who either showed themselves proudly or hid the embrace of shadows on their skin. All coexist in tensioned acceptance, under the guise of visual ignorance. All of which hid the true secrets that only chosen few had realized.
And Veronika Chambers was cursed to be one of those few.
To everyone else, an alleyway was just an alleyway, but Veronika spotted a small bloom peeking along the upper wall of one of the buildings that formed it. A black rose that shimmered violet in the sunlight, the Dolor Rose. Walking into the alley she followed the vine that the rose sprouted from, all the way to a chain of blooms that formed the shape of a doorway against the dull brick.
"Shaduul."
Veronika shuddered at the tingle of her life force draining from her, a small trickle of weakness at the corners of her perception as her own shadow began to warp at her command. It was a feeling she knew intimately, sending new pangs of sadness against her heart as the umbral mass to the form of an owl that somehow perched on one of the bricks set into the wall.
A black nebula etched into feathers and down, small novas surge with turquoise light as they shift and dance. Blue-green suns but in their sockets, looking to her for its purpose. The woman refuses to look into them, with how much they resemble the eyes of another.
“Open the way home,” The owl trilled happily in affirmative, taking flight and beginning a circling pattern within the alleyway. The shadow owl suddenly dove to impact against the wall, erupting into a cloud of interstellar smoke as a door began to shape itself from within the frame of roses.
"What do you want Tholanar?"
The figure stood a few feet from her, taller than Veronika, and adorned in a heavy hooded trench coat. The hood had a slit in the middle, fitting around a single black horn. Two colored eyes were somehow visible as they looked at her with contempt, one a dark chocolate, the other a deep cerulean. A scarf hid his flesh from the sun, and his body twitched at the utterance of his name as he removed it to reveal a short equine muzzle.
“ We need to talk, Veronika,” his voice was smooth, a very faint but lurid hiss served as undertone, a clear sign of Ceadra lineage. “ The Court is going to-”
“I don’t care what the Court wants, they made it clear that I had nothing to do with Mentior and did not want me involved, apparently 5 loops means nothing to them.” She looked up at the sound of a click, the door that was now present opening on its own. The owl hopped gleefully on the steps leading upward. A part of her knew that this is what she truly needs.
Veronika sighed, looking away from the happy shadow owl to face Tholanar,” The Court has forbidden me from coming back.” All pure-blood Ceadra like Tholanar were crafted to be handsome, his body lythe with dense musculature beneath his coat. Tholanar removed his scarf, revealing short equine snout.
“I know, they told me when they offered me the position of Headmaster.” Veronika gave him a look of utter disgust, yet she refused to move. ”That...makes sense, you were Elijah’s son. However, your sol-mother would have wanted otherwise.” Veronika smiles slightly at the sight of the stallion wincing at her words, anger flashing in his eyes as a hand reaches up to rub against his temple.
“That…imp…is dead, and isn’t going to protect you anymore. Now I’ve got to clean up Hir mess before the Court will allow me to take control of the Academy.”
The pupils of his eyes suddenly twist into reptilian slits, causing Veronika to look away. "Oh no you don't," with supernatural speed the vampiric creature closed the distance between them, one hand gripped the woman's rear as the thick hoof-like nails of his other dug into her cheek and chin. His strength, comparable to the strongest of human capabilities, forced her face back to look into his gayze. Jacinth fire now burns within his slitted pupils, attempting to magically force dominance upon her will.
"Open your mind to me..." Tholanar's words lose their hate, becoming sickly sweet and full of eerie song. Yet Veronika was ready for him, a faint turquoise light shimmering beneath the white of her blouse. “Bassalaste,” an opalescent shimmer flowed across her eyes, solidifying into an opaque crystalline pink that protected her from his gayze.
"You will not make me forget Hir, Tholonar." Veronika hisses the words, looking into the male's eyes without fear. The male growls in response, an animalistic sound that belies more than just anger. Veronika takes note of this, her mind growing sharp amidst danger as she begins to notice other things.
“How long has it been since you’ve fed?”
The equine’s eyes squinted at the words, failing to hide how the fangs that were unique to the lazmya subspecies were fighting to stay folded within his maw. "I can smell lust dripping from you, feel its heat on your skin," Veronika gasped when the hand at her rear moved to her front, pressing into the still moist panties beneath. "I can satisfy that desire, I can help you forget all that she ever was to you and free you from all that pain…"
"All you need to do is give in to me…"
Closing her eyes, she imagined The touch of her companion again. As the woman felt Tholanar's cold breath against her neck, tears began to well up at the realization that Shi would watch her be molested by this monster. “Is that what you told her? Every time she lusted, every time she desired but was kept starving for your own selfishness?”
Veronika's fingers move to guide the hand at her cheek down to the curve beneath her blouse, allowing him to cup her modest breast. Tholanar let out a pleased whinny, tenderly squeezing with trembling fingers in a struggle to give in to his own eagerness to indulge. As she responded to his words, she pressed her hips against his, seeking to keep his guard down.
"Yes..." Veronika's hand moved out of sight, and Tholanar groaned as he felt her fingers fumble with the button of the stallion’s pants. "I am very wet," she smiled as her pelvis ground her wetness against his probing fingers. This is her plan, to take advantage of all Ceadra's greater weakness, a constant hunger.
She bared her neck to the Immortal, letting him see the pulsing of her blood beneath her light olive skin. Only when she felt the burn of his scrutiny on her throat, the stiff throbbing in his pants, does she make her move. Resting the back of her head on his shoulder, Veronika's voice became cold, and the marks on her skin began the glow again.
"My wetness comes from thoughts of Hir, touching me, not you." The fog of many pangs of hunger slowed the hybrid's mind. In expecting her to comply, she easily slips from his grasp. "My blood boils at the thought that she would step aside if you commanded her, after everything you did to break her mind!"
“Vacaray Mofka!"
Three crystalline feathers emerged between the knuckles of the woman’s closed fist, which swings around to slice into the flesh of Tholanar’s cheek. Hot tears fall from gleaming skin as she spoke with bile in her throat, "As Powerful as Shi was, Shi would obediently wait her turn to be used, just for the false hope of you one day showing the smallest spark of the love you once had!"
With an avian screech of rage, Veronika put all her pain, her hate, and her grief into a single uppercut to the equine’s jaw. "Even if you could make it all go away, someone has to remember everything you did to Hir!"
Triumphant relief filled Veronika as her conclusions were not unfounded, the Ceadra staggered back as near-black blood gushed from the wounds. Normally such an attack would be considered a minor injury, but Tholanar must not have fed in days for his regenerative powers to be non-existent. The male coughed up blood as he tried to pull the bladed feathers free, only to have the barbs of the feather extend and hook, causing more pain than he was able to ignore.
"Now go tell the Court that if they want me, they can come get me themselves.” Veronika looked down at the immortal, watching with cold contempt as he whimpered like a beaten dog. Yet it is all she can do to keep her body from collapsing, all her remaining power going to keep the feather-blades fully manifested.
She looked to the open doorway again, leading to home, to sleep. Yet it isn't what she wanted, she wants to feel Hir again. Veronika knew that waiting for her up those stairs was painful memories and nightmares of what is now gone forever. She was not going to get what she wanted by going through that door, she wasn't going to get it anywhere.
However, anywhere was better than where she was now. The owl waited patiently, her guardian, her gatekeeper, the manifestation of her bloodline that had long since been forgotten by the world. Veronika walked through the door, which closed behind her before vanishing into the shadows trapped within the many rose blossoms.

The storm that rocked the universe chapter 2.
The Master grinned wider and clapped his hands. “Well, well… so Time Baby sent someone? Couldn’t waddle down here himself? That tells me one thing, I succeed and you…. fail.” The Master ended by picking up a small grey metal and yellow cylinder. “Let’s see what I can do with my laser screw driver—“
“—Wait! Y-you c-c-ant get away that easy-“ Blendin-Morty began adjusting his gun.
The Master casually raised his laser screwdriver and zapped him, there was orange glow of light, a puff of smoke, a sizzle and where Morty-Blendin stood, nothing but a heap of grey dust.
“—Looks like I did,” The Master said in causally cheerful voice. “Anyone else wanna go against me? Now where’s the lab?”
The Pines family began to yell at once.
“—Let’s just see how tough you are without that screwdriver!”
“-I’ll show you, I’ve got my grappling hook!”
“-We defeated Bill, we’ll defeat you!”
“—You are mad and I won’t help you!”
“SHUT UP!” The Master Screamed over all of them. “You do know if you try anything, anything at all. HE-“ The master pointed at Soos. “-Will suffer! So will his Nan, and his girlfriend! I’ll make all of you watch!”
There was sudden hush.
Melody looked at them with tired, scared eyes, but Soos’s and Abuelita’s expressions were blank and lacking any sign of recognition.
“I’d like to see ya try!” Stan shouted.
“Would you?” The Master chirruped. “I’m not going to hurt them myself. No, too messy. Jesus will, I’ll make him rip his Granny and Melody limb from limb and slit his own throat! All I have to do is give the word, Stanley and he’ll obey. You want to test me?”
“We won’t let you!” Mabel shouted.
“Yeah!” Added Dipper
“The youngest of Pines family, so brave, so clever, and yet so DUMB,” The Master said. “You may have defeated Bill with kittens, tickles and memory gun. But I’m made different stuff, and I don’t fall for schemes. You’ll all die and this place will burn, if I don’t get help.”
“You can’t threaten us!” Dipper said.
“You wanna bet?” The Master raised his laser screw driver and aimed at Dipper and Mabel
“STOP!” Ford shouted. “I’ll help you, just—don’t hurt any of them. I know what you are, and I suspect when you contact Bill you can get us out of here, before he takes his revenge.”
Mabel gasped, Stan swore and Dipper scowled at Ford.
“Jolly good! I knew you’d come around! I might just have room on my TARDIS for some staff, understood?” The Master said with a wink.
Ford looked worried and sad, he bowed his head. “Yes.”
“Now show me your lab and the journals!” The Master commanded.
“Very well,” Ford said and walked out the office door. The Master followed, in two or three minutes Ford returned alone.
“He’s in the lab, I told him I was getting the journals. Looks like he doesn’t know where the statue of Bill is or that the journals have been destroyed. We’re going to be fine, I just need to stall him a little bit and call someone who can help.”
“Who?’ Dipper asked.
“Exactly.” said Ford. “Ah, well he actually doesn’t like that name anymore….”
~~~~~~~~
The Doctor could hear River singing the shower as he sat on the bed adjusting his bow tie and putting on his socks. It had been fun, but in his body he still wasn’t entirely sure why River was so mad for it really. He could go without for decades… but it had been well—interesting— and she’d let him wear his fez and everything! In the distance he could hear the TARDIS phone ringing faintly but persistently. River has stopped singing, the shower had stopped, and the phone kept ringing.
“You’d better answer that Sweetie,” River called from the Shower.
“Yes, I was about too—“ The Doctor began.
He got up and ran haphazardly into the console room. The phone gave one last ring then stopped.
“Oh, that’s unfortunate.” The Doctor said.
“Listen to the voicemail sweetie,” River said, she was behind him draped in a red silk bathrobe and nothing else.
“Right voicemail… voicemail…” He pressed the right button and a recording began.
“Doctor, this is Stanford Pines. I don’t know which of you this will reach or when I’ll reach you… you said if I ever needed help to call on you. There is a timelord in the Mystery shack he calls himself The Master and what he wants to do threatens the very fabric of the of the universe!” Ford said.
“The Master but he was —“
“—well he’s not anymore, is he?” River said.
The message went on: “You will need help—“
“Help? I’m the Doctor!”
“— Contact Sanchez, he is involved in this somehow or will be, hopefully for the better, I saw a version of his grandson, appear at the shack. The Master must have killed him but maybe with both of you working together— The Master’s coming back. I must leave.”
That’s when the cloister bell in the TARDIS began to ring wildly. Ford was right the very fabric of reality was at stake!
“Right to the Mystery Shack!” The Doctor said, and started for the controls
River was already there pushed buttons and puling levers. “No, we have to get Rick first.”
The Doctor made a frustrated noise and flapped his hands. “No. We. Are. Not. Rick Sanchez is impossible! He only looks out himself! He can’t be trusted! Besides he has some kind of invisible barrier around his house, the TARDIS can’t get through!”
The TARDIS shook and made a painful grinding and screeching noise, River and the Doctor braced themselves on the console. The shaking got worse so the did the noise. River pulled a lever on the console back to the edge, holding there with a grimace and all of her strength. The console began sparking, and the TARDIS seemed to scream. That’s when it came to a juttering, stuttering, halt. Everything was normal for a fraction of a second, then it fell with the noise of splintering wood and a solid thud. The Doctor found himself on the floor, underneath River. The impact was enough that he saw lights in front of his eyes, his head hurt and his joints felt painful, being a timelord this quickly wore off. River had righted herself, brushed off the dust, straightened her hair, fixed her make up and stepped out. The Doctor shoved his dislocated arm back in the socket, straightened his jaw and followed her his face set in a scowl. A redheaded teenage girl in a pink tank top and white pants was standing in the door frame looking bored, phone in hand. A short teenage boy with brown hair in yellow t-shirt and blue jeans stared at them looking just as non-plussed.
“Hello Morty and Summer, I’m River Song and this is Doctor. Could you get you’re grandfather for us?”
“Awww geez, We just fixed the roof, ya’know,”
“You mean Grandpa Rick right? And not our Dad’s Dad, because you weirdos never specify.”
“Aren’t you a sarcastic young lady.”
“I didn’t just crash my phone booth, through the garage roof.”
“It’s not a phone booth, It’s a Police box… errm it’s not that, well it’s a TARDIS actually,” The Doctor said tugging on his bow tie in smug way.
“Yeah, whatever,” Summer didn’t seem impressed. “Grandpa Rick is passed out somewhere.”
The Doctor let go of his tie and looked slightly sad.
“He’s on the sofa,” Morty mumbled
“Splendid, it’s been a long time since I saw him,” River said. “You know I was almost your grandmother,”
“Ewwww,” chorused Morty and the Doctor. And they began to walk through the house.
Rick was indeed passed out on the sofa, surrounded by empties, snoring, drooling, sprawled out haphazardly, still out like a light. Morty gave him a shake.
“Wha… Morty… leave me alone…juss leave me alone.” Rick muttered and rolled over.
“Rick, there uhhh people here to see you,” Morty said.
Rick turned back over, rubbed his eyes and looked at them steadily.
“Why are you still with this loser, River?” He muttered.
River gave him a poisoned smile. “You never had a chance, you know.”
“Yeah, I know….” Rick muttered, looked at the Doctor. “He’s now…what a twelve year old with no eyebrows now?”
“Hey! You still owe me 20 blimfarks!”
“So? You we’re cheating, besides you got me fired from UNIT and deported!”
“You we’re spying on us for Torchwood London!”
“You we’re jealous cuz Jo dug me.”
“Was not! Anyhow, I rescued you in Colombia!”
“‘Rescued’ yeah, you destroyed my lab, my work, and killed my boss!”
“You were making a clone army of super soldiers!”
“Yeah, I needed the money.”
“You were working for a DRUGLORD!”
“So? I was going to find a way.. to sabotage it… then you had come along, blond, crickety with that ginger twink and that Aussie Bitch!”
“He wasn’t! She…. well she was bit of a… yeah…”
“Why the fuck are you here?”
“Well darling, you remember the Master?”
“…. the camp and crazy timelord?”
“Yes.”
“Why is HE darling!”
“Because sweetie, he is. Now getting back to what I was saying…”
“….The Master is up to some scheme, whoop-de-fuck. Why should I care?”
“Because he’s in Gravity falls!” the Doctor chimed in.
“…yeah so, it doesn’t mean anything?”
“Because he’s going to summon Bill CIPHER!” The Doctor shouted. “AN ELDER-GOD! THE VERY FABRIC OF REALITY IS THREATENED!”
“…There are other realities, why should I care?”
“You think they’ll stop at this one?”
“Hmmmm good point. But still not caring…”
“A version of your grandson, was seen, briefly by our source.It looked like he’d come back from some distant timeline and….”
“Me?” Mroty Started. “W—w-what do I have to do with this?”
“It was version of you Morty. Could be some other Morty.”
“I told you River, he’s impossible!”
“River, why are you still with this loser?”
“He actually cares about things, Rick.”
“So? if he wants to save reality, he should talk to the other timelord.”
“The Master but he wants to destroy everything.”
“Not the Master, duh.”
“Then who?”
“You don’t know… wait...he really doesn’t know… fine I’ll show you.”
Rick pulled out his portal gun.
“We are not doing that, we can take the TARDIS.” The Doctor said.
“That heap of junk? This is much more reliable, it’ll actually get us we’re we want to go.”
“I don’t want leave her here, you might steal her or dismantle her for parts.”
“No. I wouldn’t steal that ancient shitbox if you left by my door.”
Rick aimed the portal gun and zapped out a glowing green portal.
“Summer, we’re going to ‘save reality’ you wanna come?” Rick called out.
“Naw, sounds dumb,” Summer called back.
Rick, Morty, River and reluctantly the Doctor stepped into the green swirling vortex.
They stepped out into a bland office corridor.
“Where are we?” Morty asked.
“Hinteracorp, one the -urp- cutting -urp- edge bio-chemical firms.” Rick said and took a pull from his flask.
“Yeah, I’ve heard of them… but why are we here?” The doctor asked in bored fashion.
The logo hung on a door in front of them, River looked at it and then back at Rick and the Doctor.
“…You really don’t know, Sweetie?” River asked. “Look at the door.”
The Doctor stared at it puzzling, then it hit. “The Rani! She’s still alive! How did she… Why did she…?”
“…because the time war sucked.” Rick said then belched.
The door also read: ‘A.Hinter CEO.’
“Why don’t you ask her?” River said sweetly.
“Right! I will!” The Doctor charged into the rather mundane looking executive office, only real relief from the boring grey, white and black decor was large potted ficus in the far corner of the room.
Two women looked up, one was tall of Indian descent with arrogant eyes and high cheek bones, dressed in a burgundy pantsuit with shoulder pads The other was short, black, her hair in afro puff ponytails and dressed in shades of pink and blue.
Rick pressed a button on his portal gun.
The elegant woman glared at them: “WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!?”
“YOU KNOW!” the doctor roared back.
“NO I DON’T! I’M GETTING SECURITY!”
The other woman seemed to inch away.
“Hang on…. “ the doctor passed and listened for the sound of two heartbeats, he could one from that woman. “….You don’t know who we are….”
“NO!” The woman screamed. “Why aren’t security here?”
The Doctor listened again, he faintly two heartbeats, coming from the direction of…. the little woman he took for the assistant. “…RANI”
And the small black woman who was frantically trying to open a door on the ficus plant turned to him, a resigned expression on her face.
Her new voice was high and squeaky. “Oh, bugger.”
