Do any beings know how to go about making a tail and/or ears with brushed off fur from a dog? Or where to find information about that kind of thing? (We have a husky, and we want to use some of his fur to make at least a tail and maybe ears as well).

We are thinking about using the start of a yarn tail to add the fur to it (we also need fur safe dye cause our dog's fur is white and ours should be a kind of dark brown). Would this work?

We wanna make a tail cause we aren't really able to properly find an ethical tail seller [we are disabled, we aren't gonna go more into it], and we have heard that fake fur tails aren't really that great. We might just end up making just a yarn tail if we can't find a way to use our dog's fur for it. [Are yarn tails good for the environment and stuff?]

hey therianblr, i made a golden retriver mask<3

my hearttype is a golden with a rather darker fur, black nose, and a dog-wise light eye color [i suppose it's a shade closer to amber, although i found my human eye color to be more decorative on the mask.] i am planning to make a dragon mask too, but i prioratized the dog one as i adore it's aesthetic, and the way my natural hair adds to the mask's effect gives me a handful of euphoria.

here i am, for a reference!! (i am not sure where did i got this picture from, i just kinda have it?)

about the process, i used the cat mask base available on aliexpress and such, some felt and faux fur from the local decor shop, and acrylic paint. sadly, i was out of hot glue in the middle of the process, so it was a struggle from then, but i managed. i cut the snout out from decorative rubber, and i cut off the ears of the catmask. the felting is the ugliest i have ever done, but i decided on to add a few whiskers made out of fishing line. to sum up, i am content.

in addition: here's the dog mask (my first mask ever) that i made exactly a year ago with paper mache. it was a pain in the ass to stick together, as i lacked the materials i needed. anyways, i love it too, but it's impossible to wear it.

before and after pics of a gas mask bag i got at an antique store a couple years ago, wasn’t quite happy with how I decorated it so i decided to rework it

i painted all the patches except for the sunflowers on the strap of the bag, those were leftover fabric from a t-shirt i used to make the back patch for my vest

the buttons i bought while working at faire this year and one of the pins and the aroace star was made by one of my partners :-)

I need to to know how you attached the ears to your headphones /not forced

short answer: cooking twine and embroidery needle

long answer: i basically extended them as far as they needed to be to fit my head perfectly and sewed along the base of the ear, looping around the headphones every time until they didnt move

hey nonhuman tumblr community! I need input

I'm going to ramble, I have adhd, bare with me

I have Ideas. I'm the sort of creature who just enjoys making things. Like, anything I can. (Un)fortunately I work at a job that gives me skills, resources, and inspiration, but I have so little spoons to carry these ideas out. I'm setting goals for myself though, and one of those goals is to ask around the community.

I've been interested in making a nonhuman themed box set. I'll go into more details later, hopefully with a vision board or something, but imagine one of those mystery box things from etsy etc.

Of course, this community is so diverse, so starting out, this will be greatly limited (partially why I would like feedback), but contents would include:

-tails

-themed stickers

-prints

-patches

-small jewlery

-zines maybe?

-collars

I'd like to work my way up to more things, too, and this isn't a full list. Most of these things will be handmade by me.

Thoughts? Comments? Ideas? Additions? Any input is appreciated!!!! No matter what you id as, I need as much feedback as possible!
