What is your headcanon/voice inspiration for Gotosh? This might be a bit of an OOC question, but I'm curious to see what voices people think fit their characters vs my own thoughts ;W;

So this is a rather difficult question because orcs have very …they have a wide range of voices. A lot of the times they are deep, low and so forth. Because of that it’s a lot harder to pick voices for inspiration that fit that unique vocal range of sounds fitting for an orc. It’s like face claims, if you’re not an elf it’s a lot harder to have a solid face claim for races that look less and less human.BUT! I have thought of this. Originally, I compared Gotosh’s voice to a less dreary version of that one Frostwolf Orc in Frostfire who says “Yes…..What is it….” over and over again. But I didn’t like that.But NOW …(For now) I’ve compared him to WoD Drek’thar maybe just a smidge deeper, even though Drek’thar is already deep. The exact voice actor for Drek’thar is hard to pin down because the IMBD says he’s voiced by Ike Amandi but other people are saying Dave Fennoy who is Vol’jin and the Jonathan Adams who is Xuen…so…that’s a tad…difficult.Other people have said that even Winston’s voice from Overwatch could fit him. I can see that fitting, especially during Gotosh’s fun goofy moments. But so far young WoD Drek’thar with a subtle shift in tone is all I can think for. For now, this is what I compare it to, until I find an even better voice to compare him with.

My biggest inspiration IS Drek’thar however and Thrall most of all, that is a surprise at all…… Thank you for your question! I love this sort of stuff.

▲ : What sort of information do you like to see on someone’s role play page that helps you determine whether or not you would want to write with them?

The biggest thing that determines whether I want to write with someone or not is the degree to which their character feels alive. Sometimes you see a character’s posts in the crowd at an event and they just stand out to you as being extra present, extra dynamic, extra real. It’s an X-factor, not something I could really give an example for, but I know it when I see it. Even if story-wise my character doesn’t really line up with theirs or have much in common with them, I’ll still go out of my way to find reasons to roleplay with anyone whose character feels alive, interesting, unpredictable. If I can spend fifteen minutes watching someone RP and have more questions about the character than answers, I’m probably hooked.

So when I look through someone’s RP profile or blog or whatever, I look for evidence of that--which means I usually go straight to their writing tag, if they have it linked. (Although that’s a tricky game! Sometimes people who are very good at writing eloquent and engaging long posts can have difficulty with the brevity of in-game RP, and the reverse is also true: sometimes people who are fluid and dynamic and witty in rapid-flow in-game RP can have a hard time putting together longer prose in blog posts.)

I think maybe what I’m really trying to say is that I’m rarely swayed by RP profiles to want to RP with someone. I have to see them in action!

As I mentioned in a previous answer, I have a hard time playing evil characters. It makes me feel super guilty. Even in single player RPGs, it almost never happens.

I’m also having a hard time with very big events, especially if I don’t really know anyone. I love that they’re there, I just often become a bit overwhelmed and end up leaving early. It’s a bit better if I have people to hang out with, but I’ve attended a few large events in an attempt to get into new RP communities I was trying to join, and it almost never worked out for me.

In the current campaign I'm in, my Fey Tiefling bard made a baby white dragon his familiar and turned a group of kobalds into cultists. Our Air Genasi rouge/sword bard's name was Hydra. In a weird twist we ended up calling ourselves Hydra as a group of good doers that helped people in need. The rouge ended up becoming super evil, but our barbarian/bard, myself, and our 5 year old werebear are still fairly good oh and our drow ranger. Our chant is "Hail Hydra" ironically of course.

What do you think about the push back of Worgen/Goblin model updates for the new expansion. Apparently their models aren't priority even though they are the oldest ones to date currently.

im pretty bummed about their updates getting pushed back. however, considering how much work would go into updating them, and all the work blizz is doing with sub/allied races and just everything in general for the next expac, i understand the delay. and im glad blizz is still getting around to them even if we have to wait a bit longer.

✉ A fandom that you feel is open and accepting?

It’s small, dwindling, and doesn’t get the love it deserves, but maybe that’s why HiNaBN rpers are so quick to pull new rpers into the gig. I started an rp blog for a robot!Hanna, and was almost immediately greeted OOC and IC by at least three complete strangers. Hadn’t even posted any open starters yet, just an OOC “hi!” I made a blog for Lamont too and had an even bigger positive response.

And let me tell you, one of the first people (that I didn’t know) that came to me was SO helpful, they introduced me to other rpers in the fandom, offered to help me get the hang of tumbler rp (it was my first experience with it), just gods. I felt to welcome. Kind of sad I lost the motivation to keep rping my boys.

What's Gotosh's favorite type of flower or herb?

It’s hard to say which!  He finds beauty in most plants and flowers. But’s fond of the smaller ones out there, ones that often go over looked and provide subtle beauty in the world if you choose to look for it. They also make for the lovely additions in his braids for both the scent and the visual aesthetic of it. If they are shades of blue or purple , however, he’s more than likely going to love it.
