Sleipnir the 8 legged horse of Norse mythology! I’ve been working on this drawing for a few days now and I’m very nearly satisfied. Drawing horses is a big comfort for me, so I might draw more as time goes on. However, Sleipnir and all their legs are giving me hell haha!
Are there any details I could add that would make it more clear this image is meant to be Sleipnir of mythology?

teen wolf meme: [1/6] creatures -> berserkers
You ever heard of the Berserkers? Germanic warriors. They wore the skins of bears to channel their ferocity. They didn't just wear them- they became them. [...] With Berserkers, the human side doesn't last long-- they're not tempered by the moon.

Folks theorising how Vedrfolnir might be The Sinner from Caribert's quest.
"Which is why I'm pushing my personal analysis that he might be "The Visionary" Vedrfolnir.
Dain's conversation at the end of Caribert emphasised on the Sinner's "sense of sight", about how good he can "see" and that the passage of time is of no obstacle to him, these match the meaning of Visionary, as briefed by Mona.
Dain seems to know him enough that he immediately had an idea of who that was. According to Skirk, Vedrfolnir should be as well-known as Rhine and Surtalogi, and they all have Nordic names like many other Khaenriahns (with Rhine being a confirmed Khaenriahn). This means that Vedrfolnir is likely a Khaenriahn, too, which would explain how quickly Dain recognised his moniker. Him calling himself a Sinner may also be related to Rhine being called Great Sinner and how Surtalogi's "The Foul" title is "Knight of Extreme Evil" in CN, all of which carry some negative tones.
If Dain keeps his promise, we will learn about the Sinner's identity in the coming Dain's quest. So Vedrfolnir being briefly teased, yet still being intentionally kept a mystery a couple versions prior to the reveal would be an interesting foreshadowing"
Even if he's not I think that people mentioned by Skirk are the Khaenri'ahn sages Pierro badmouthes at every opportunity. I don't know why so many people tend to assume they are from Hexenzirkel.
(well, Gold *is* part of Hexenzirkel but that's about it)

on loving gods
picture this: you fall in love with a god.
(some level of hubris and/or insanity must be involved. for if you were a person who was perfectly humble, and perfectly sane, it simply wouldn't be done. gods are notoriously unreliable, unreasonable, and oftentimes, unworthy. it is just in their nature.)
picture this: the god loves you back.
(this is a very rare thing. they are busy, have different emotions than humans, and, worst of all, immortal. they often choose not to love, or to simply have fleeting affairs.)
picture this: there are circumstances that keep you apart.
(there is an endless list of said circumstances. be it other gods, duties, or, sometimes, if you're lucky - although you might say the opposite- the god wants to keep you safe.)
picture this: you are willing to wait for them.
(most humans who truly love a god will wait as long as it takes. this is foolish, as it often results in their demise.)
picture this: the god finally comes back.
(they are injured, or need help. this doesn't happen often, but is a death sentence for you. you love them, and want to help, but there is nothing you can do. either they will loose control and destroy you, or you will sacrifice yourself for them. sometimes, sometimes it is both.)
picture this: you wonder what the hell you were ever thinking, falling in love with a god.
(and the sad truth was, you were never thinking at all.)

Brooch C6605
A different colouring i did for a print. I wish i had the patience to draw these again. They are a lot of fun but take so so much time.

Happy ArtMonday!
Today I can finally show this artwork ^^ It is a revisited piece, reborn from an original drawing I made 15 years ago
In the heart of Edinburgh lies a haven of secrets, guarded by three sisters, in a world teeming with darkness and mysteries.
In this meticulously artwork, the youngest sister, Rina, stands amidst a labyrinth of knowledge, her sanctuary against the creatures of the night. But she is more than a mere guardian of books—she is a keeper of secrets, a seeker of truth, and a sentinel against the shadows.
Painted with over 170 hours of painstaking detail and imbued with rich symbolism, 'The Lorewarden' is a true labor of love and dedication. Two full days were devoted solely to labeling the 250 intricately detailed books of this extraordinary library. From real tomes to fictional volumes, each book adds depth and intrigue to Rina's quest for knowledge.
Crafted with unwavering determination, this illustration captures the essence of a universe where darkness lurks just beyond the veil of ignorance.
Enter the realm of "The Lorewarden" and join Rina on her quest to uncover the truths hidden within those countless pages. Here, magic, myth, and mystery collide and every word holds a secret waiting to be unveiled.
Are you ready to lose yourself in the exploration of these shelves, discovering which books are fictional and which are not?
Story/Universe is © @valkblue, Character is © both of us.
Software used: Clip Studio Paint.

As you can see, I'm experimenting with a new inking style
Pictured are Jötnar, the giants of Scandinavia- not dissimilar are their cousins the Ettin, though contrary to popular belief they have zero relationship to trolls outside of antagonistic hand gestures, and the occasional bone bread poisoning attempt. Nowadays most remaining Jötnar work in heavy industry or mining because they're forcibly prevented from their tradition of solitary hill life by a bevy of regulations and poor relationships with local governments during the rise of industrialization. "Uncivilized" giants still live in places like Trillemarka where they have to hide because creatively borrowing vast herds of livestock is a crime apparently.
The best senses of the average Jötunn are its Hearing and Touch, their large bulbous noses being primarily for display. Their vaguely elephantine legs convergently support the vast bulk of their frames, which can range from 610cm in height to 818cm in height, and cushion the shock of sliding down steep ravines. Despite their immense hand size, Jötnar are capable of fairly fine metalworking and recovered artifacts often possess fine detail, as do their spearheads, which are usually cast from entire veins of copper.
Note- Jötnar have and still will eat humans on occasion, and while ritual meaning is ascribed to this, the truth is they just do it when they're pissed off at you.
