WELCOME TO OC HALLOWEEN CHALLENGE 2O24!

SMILE because it's time for the annual oc halloween challenge! We will see the evil, hear the evil, and speak the evil with these spooky challenges brought to you by @aliverse, @astarionbae, @endless-oc-creations, and @come-along-pond!

If this is your first time, here's the lowdown; This is an event that takes place over the 31 days of October and presents oc creators with Halloween-themed challenges to encourage creativity, foster community, and have fun! Some of these have guidelines/suggestions, but this is very much a free-for-all so you can ignore them if they don't fit with your interpretations.

DO NOT copy others edits.

If you are doing crossovers, PLEASE make sure that the creator of the other oc is okay with crossovers.

If you want your post to be reblogged onto this blog, it must contain the hashtag ohc2024.

Feel free to ask questions, I promise I’m more treat than trick.

Everything is up to the creators interpretation, although I have tried to include some examples for help!

Have fun!

Day One: Godly Parent

Whether Greek, Roman, Norse, Egyptian, or any other; What "God" could have created your oc?

Day Two: Mystical Communication

There are tons of ways we think we can communicate with those beyond our realm such as Tarot Cards, Oujia Boards, Prayer, EMFs, or even through other people with otherworldly powers. Which method would your oc use? Or maybe they are the communication tool?

Day Three: Merch/Memorabilia

When we really love something, we want a piece of it with us. What merch would people buy of your ocs? Ex. Dolls (like funkos or Barbie crossovers), Clothes (like shirts or sweatshirts), Buttons/Patches, Dishware (like cups or plates), trading cards, posters, or even spin-off books of the show they star in.

Day Four: If They Were Canon AU

You could create an actor oc who plays your character or even make edits about how you think your ocs faceclaim would promote/interpret their character and get along with fellow cast members.

Day Five: Social Media AU

Within their canon, what would your ocs Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, Tumblr, Snapchat, and/or YouTube look like?

Day Six: Role Swap AU

Give your oc a role in their story that is different than the one they already have. Whether this is making a hero a villain or vice versa, your victim a survivor or vice versa, or anything else you can think of.

Day Seven: Butterfly Effect

One choice could change the trajectory of our lives or any game we play. Show us the effects of your oc making the wrong choice when they originally made the right choice, befriending someone they originally hated, or even just missing their alarm.

Day Eight: Multiverse

Maybe you have multiple ocs with the same faceclaim, maybe you have a friend(s) who have ocs with the same faceclaim that you've wanted to do a crossover with, or maybe you want your oc to meet some of the actual characters their faceclaim has played. No matter what it is, it's time for your ocs to meet their multiverse counterparts!

Day Nine: Literature AU

Put your oc into an alternate universe based off a book you enjoy whether it be a classic or a newer one, no matter the genre.

Day Ten: Dungeons & Dragons AU

Have your ocs play DND, make an au based off a classic DND campaign, or just tell us the stats of your oc in DND terms.

Day Eleven: Ghost AU

Sometimes when we die, we don't leave. Tell us the unfinished business that keeps your ocs ghost on Earth, who your oc would haunt, how they would haunt, or anything else related to your oc being a ghost!

Day Twelve: Supernatural AU

Make your human oc a supernatural creature or your supernatural oc a different supernatural character.

Day Thirteen: Video Game AU

Show us some of what your story would look like as a video game or put your ocs into your favorite game.

Day Fourteen: Musical AU

The doctor said I couldn't talk, he didn't say I couldn't siiinnnggg! Put your oc into your favorite musical such as Hamilton or Mean Girls, or come up with some original lyrics to show what you think your story would look like if it were written as a musical.

Day Fifteen: Nostalgia

Take the books, shows, or movies you enjoyed as a child and put your oc into them! Or, show us what your oc enjoyed as a child.

Day Sixteen: Fairytale AU

One of the most classics of classics. Make your oc a character in your favorite fairytale, whether you prefer the Grimm or Disney version, or make up a fairytale about your oc!

Day Seventeen: Being is Believing

For day seventeen, think about superstitions, urban legends, or folklore and either make your oc a part of them, make your oc experience them, or tell us which ones your oc believes.

Day Eighteen: Beloved Pet or Object Turned Human

It's not unusual for someone to grow an emotional attatchment to an animal or an inanimate object. What would your ocs beloved pet or object say if they turned human and could speak your ocs langauge?

Day Nineteen: Genre Switch

Whatever the genre of your story is, swap it with another one. Maybe your romance story is now a horror story, your comedy is now a tragedy, or your historical realism story is now future sci-fi.

Day Twenty: Darkest After Dawn

Things can go so right for so long and then suddenly so wrong. Show us what happens when something rains on your ocs parade, when a perfect day turns into a horrible night, or a dream vacation turns into a nightmare trap.

Day Twenty-One: Apocalypse AU

Put your oc into an alternate universe that's been thrust into an apocalypse whether that be because of zombies, aliens, radiation, or the Earth trying to reclaim its land.

Day Twenty-Two: Time Problems

Let's play with time for this challenge. Picture your story as if it has always taken place in a different time, throw your oc into a time loop, or have them somehow travel through time.

Day Twenty-Three: Horrorify A Song

Take your favorite Halloween song and tell it's story, or even take a perfectly innocent song and give it a horrifying meaning! Both using your ocs, obviously.

Day Twenty-Four: What's Your Favorite Scary Movie?

It wouldn't be Halloween without some good scary movies. Put your ocs into one of your favorite scary movies!

Day Twenty-Five: Horror Location

This is an easier throwback to one of the week long challenges we've done for this event. Make something that tells a horror story of your oc at a certain location such as a Hospital/Asylum, Summer Camp, Place of Worship, Cemetery/Tomb, House/Apartment, Hotel/Cabin, or Farm/Ranch.

Day Twenty-Six: Horror Subgenres

Another throwback to a week long challenge we've done for this event. Make something that tells a horror story of your oc within a horror subgenre such as extraterrestrial, apocalypse, monster, time loop, isolation, time loop, cult, doppleganger, or anything else you can think of.

Day Twenty-Seven: Horror Archetypes

Which horror character tropes do your ocs embody? The Final Girl or The Killer? The Accomplice or The Harmless Antagonist? The Harbinger or The Nonbeliever? The Comedic Relief or The Hysteric Annoyance?

Day Twenty-Eight: Solo Costume

Show us what your oc would dress up as for Halloween! Would they dress sexy? Scary? Lazy? Practical?

Day Twenty-Nine: Couples Costume

Show us what matching costume your oc and their love interest would wear! Peanut Butter & Jelly? Morticia & Gomez? Bert & Ernie?

Day Thirty: Group Costume

Show us what costumes your oc and their friend group would coordinate. Are they the Scooby Gang? The Wiggles? Mario Party Characters?

Day Thirty-One: Here's A Treat!

The Halloween potluck isn't happening this year but we still want to encourage interaction and giving. So, choose someone to give a treat! This could be an ask, an edit, some writing, or even a playlist.

What kind of creative/artistic works are allowed?

Any and all! Fic, art, zines, moodboards, gifs, edits, playlists, meta — if it’s motorsport RPF and Halloween-themed, it’s welcome!

What counts as motorsport?

If one of your main characters can be tagged under a motorsport fandom (e.g. any of the Formulas, IndyCar, MotoGP, etc.), you’re good!

What counts as Halloween-related?

Halloween-related can mean full-blown horror (serial killer in the paddock!), spooky (haunted car?), or, if that’s not your vibe, about Halloween more generally (Halloween is the one day a year when a driver can dress up like a total slut 😏). We’re happy to have you whether you turn your favorite driver into a friendly ghost or put them in a Saw trap.

Please just be sure to warn/tag your work appropriately, and please archive lock your fic if you're posting to Ao3!

Do I have to post to Ao3?

No! If you’d prefer, you can also post on tumblr. Just be sure to tag us @motorsport-halloween so we don’t miss it!

How do prompts work?

Anyone can leave a prompt on Ao3, but you don’t have to claim a prompt to participate — you can do your own thing and then post to the Ao3 collection or to tumblr when it’s time!

When is my fic/art/other work due?

Sign-ups and prompting will open July 15 so everyone has plenty of time to create! Completed works will be posted October 15-31 — the mods will reach out to participants at the beginning of October to schedule posting, so that we can have two full Halloweeks of fun!

☕Different types of caregiver archetypes pt.1☕

🩹these are just some silly little concepts to enjoy, see yourself in or get more of an idea what kind of cg you are. You don't need to fit into any category to be valid as a carer.🩹

🍪cozy carer🍪

Comfy sweaters, yummy drinks and fluffy blankets. These types of carers are all cozy and soft, they probably love fall, chill music and Halloween! They tend to be sleepy and might even be a bit of a stoner. They most likely love to read and are creative in at least one medium. They migth even like to cook/bake. They probably won't be strict with their kiddos and use gentle parenting styles. Cozy movie evenings, long walks and baking dates are this cg's favorite and they love to surprise their kid with them.

🖍️artsy carer🖍️

These types of carers love crafting and painting with their kids. They are probably either very extroverted or really introverted and quiet. They tend to spoil their kid with art supplies and organize cute activity dates like painting together or making clothes for each other. They most likely have a folder full of their kids projects and treasure them like nothing else. Gifts for their kid are almost always homemade and they probably made them at least one paci. Pottery painting and museum dates are this cg's specialty and they love to plan them with their kid.

🍃stoner carer🍃

A chill type of carer that's all about self care. They probably smoke to help themselves regulate but never in front of their kid (unless they too use it to help them regress). If their kid also likes to smoke they probably teach them all about different strands of buds and most likely make them and their bub matching vapes or similar. This type of carer is probably very gentle to their kid and loves to make yummy snacks for them and their tiny. They probably have a huge collection of music and comfy clothes that they love to share with their bab. Nature walks, cooking and smokie dates are a go to for this carer.

🎃spooky carer🎃

This carer probably loves Halloween, alternative music and clothes and anything horror related. They probably love to prepare for Halloween with their kid, watch nightmare before Christmas and Wendell and wild. They probably love horror movies but if their kid wants to watch them together they always put their hand before kids eyes if it's too bloody and keep checking in to make sure their bab is okay while cuddling them. They probably love doing them and their kids makeup and like to play dress up together while listening to cool music on vinyl with their kiddo. Pumpkin patch and trick or treating dates are a must with this cg.

👑royal carer👑

This type of carer loves playing pretend with their kid and probably calls them their little prince/princess/royalty. They most likely love to have tea parties with their kiddo and stuffies and bought them and their kiddo at least one tiara/crown. They probably love to go on fun dates to museums, castles and botanical gardens to play fun games in. This type of carer tends to love history and teach their kid all about it. They probably also enjoy DND and/or larping and introduced their kid to it, or the other way around. They probably love to prepare for events together and make matching costumes.

🚀space carer🚀

This type of carer probably loves stars and space crafts, they are probably more introverted and quiet but open up once they get to talk about their passions. They love teaching their bub about space and to watch old sci-fi movies together. Star gazing and planetarium dates are a must do date with their tiny one. When it comes to their kid they are probably very caring and attentive, this type of carer probably loves to help their kid learn to regulate their emotions, especially with counting the names of stars.

🎮gamer carer🎮

This type of carer probably loves to game with their kid and enjoys introducing their bub to all sorts of new games and gadgets. They probably have a comfy place with blankets, a sitting pillow and plushies set up for their kid to hang out in while they game, maybe even under their gaming table. They probably play all sorts of multiplayer games with their kid, like Minecraft, it takes two or unravel. They migth call their tiny something like their player two. When it comes to pacis they most likely love to get their kid some themed around games they both enjoy and might even get a matching phone case or similar. This carer probably has the release of the bluey video game marked in their calendar. When it comes to dates they probably enjoy quiet game nights, trips to conventions or similar.

🩺disabled carer🩺

This carer will need more understanding at times and even when their disabilities stop them from doing certain things they will always do their best for their kid. This carer probably let their kid decorate their disabilities aids like a cane, headphones, their wheelchair or communication cards. They and their kid love planning activities together, making plans on how to deal with flare ups and similar when outside, researching whether the place they want to go to is accessible and planning what food to take along. This carer will always be understanding towards their tiny's struggles and be gentle with their parenting.

🌱nature carer🌱

This type of cg probably has a ton of plants and gives all of them their own names. They love to garden and teach their kid all about it while doing something good for the environment. They most likely love to dress in a cottagecore sort of style and enjoy collecting crystals and plushies. They like taking their kiddo to walks in the forests trips to the plant store and the botanical garden. They enjoy teaching their kid how to make flower crowns, bark boats and how to recycle things into fun clothes and trinkets. For nicknames they probably enjoy to call their baby things like bug, critter, little flower etc.

Board games, magic the gathering, dnd, larping and renaissance fairs bring joy to this carer. They love telling their tiny about their latest interests to teach them all about it. Mini painting, dnd session and costume crafting dates are some of their favorite occasions, aside from conventions, late events and fairs of course. Their kid and them probably love to learn rules for games together, co-dm campaignes and maybe even come up with their own playing system. They probably love making pacis for their kid to match their newest costumes and hyper fixations. They might be neurodivergent and their kid as well. As a cg their parenting style is all based on letting their kid make their own experiences, supporting them in their creativity and helping them learn to regulate their emotions

This carer enjoys running and playing rough with their kid. They are probably very hyper and kind hearted and love being outside. They are a pretty chill carer who wants to be their bubs best friend. This carer loves physical affection and cuddles with their tiny critter. They carry teethers on themselves at all times, both for their kid and them. This carer probably makes or buys collars and ears to match with their kid. Park, walk and any active dates are most likely this cg's favorite.

Happy Halloween everyone! I hope you all enjoyed this Derek Hale Tf Marathon! It was so much fun to make, and I hope that you all liked what I put out!

Actor Tyler Hoechlin filtered through some emails to waste time before he had to get ready. The actor was supposed to make an appearance at some celebrity Halloween party for photo ops. He wasn’t above taking a picture here and there, but he hadn’t even began to think about a costume, nor had his assistant just grabbed one for him.

“I could just wear a bedsheet and go as a ghost?” Tyler chuckled to himself, thinking that it’d be so lame that it’d be good.

He deleted several emails from casting agents who thought that he’d be great in one of their low-budget horror movies that was supposed to go straight to steaming services. Tyler couldn’t help but grimace at doing anything horror related.

After spending so many years being cast as Derek Hale on Teen Wolf, the last thing he wanted to do was something spooky-ish, lest he risk being typecasted. Already, the actor played Superman on Superman & Lois, but he still had several people on the street referring to him as “Derek”. Of course, Tyler was grateful that so many fans appreciated his work on the MTV series, but there was a part of him that was ready to let the role go.

Which was why he’d frowned deeply at the email from Jeff Davis, the creator of Teen Wolf. Tyler begrudgingly clicked on it, scanning it a little until he got to the reason for the reaching out:

“…MTV is interested in rebooting the Teen Wolf series, and after the negative reception of the movie, the producers have decided not to count it as canon. Can we count on you to return as Beacon Hills’s resident Alpha, Derek Hale?”

Not even bothering to respond to it, Tyler moved the mouse towards the garbage icon to delete it. Before he could click it, his laptop screen flickered and an odd electric shock sparked out, actually shocking Tyler.

The actor recoiled his hand at the sensation, the electric shock sending a tingling feeling throughout the rest of his body for a brief moment.

“What the hell?” Tyler wondered aloud. He closed his laptop and shoved himself away from his desk, making a mental note to buy a new laptop tomorrow since his was obvious short-circuiting. 

He glanced at the clock on the wall and sighed, seeing that he was supposed to start getting ready for the party. Tyler rubbed his temples and walked towards the bathroom so that he could start getting ready. 

As he undressed, the actor could feel a little apprehension starting to seep into his bones about attending the party. The normally social Tyler Hoechlin, for some unknown reason, began to frown at the thought of being at a stuffy Halloween party that was going to be packed with people, wall to wall. The thought of being trapped in a room, shoulder to shoulder, with other people made Tyler shudder, and he began to think of reasons to bail. He thought that it was odd, but he chalked it up to his social battery just being abnormally low that night.

“What the hell…?” his voice trailed off when he leaned in closer to the mirror, his eyes honing in on his teeth. As impossible as it seemed, Tyler could’ve sworn that his canines were bigger. They stood out much more prominently than the rest of his teeth, looking like the actor was wearing caps over them, trying to make them look larger and sharper. “I, uh, I guess these are supposed to be the sharper teeth… Shit!”

Tyler jerked back in surprise at the way his smooth, freshly shaven chin was now covered in a trimmed beard. The way his sideburns connected to it indicated that Tyler must’ve been growing out his facial hair over the course of a few days, maybe even weeks. However, he knew for a fact that he’d shaved his face not even an hour ago, letting him know that something was indeed wrong.

In disbelief, the hairier hunk grabbed at the hairs covering his chin, shocked that they were real and attached to him.

His heart began to race in his beefy chest, but he was quickly distracted when his phone buzzed in his pocket. Despite himself, Tyler snatched it out and glanced at the screen, his stomach doing flips when he read that it was a text from Stiles/Dylan.

He floored the gas pedal as he rushed to the party, irritated when he hit a red light. Tyler groaned impatiently and rested his head against the headrest in irritation. His eyes glanced towards the rearview mirror, and Tyler gasped at what he saw.

He almost tore the rearview mirror off of its fixture as he leaned closer, seeing that his brow appeared much more prominent than it should’ve. That, and his eyebrows were missing for some reason. His ears had elongated, ending in points that protruded far off his head.

Tyler ran a disbelieving hand over his facial features, feeling ridiculous. He had just enough awareness to recall looking in the mirror on the set of Teen Wolf, seeing the same exact look whenever he was made up into Derek Hale’s beta form. Yet, he could feel the nerve endings whenever he touched his new canine ears, paling at what that indicated—

The car behind him blared its horn as the light turned green, snapping Tyler out of his panic.

“There better not be a scratch on it when I get back,” he muttered, noting the deeper quality to his voice. He cleared his throat as he walked up towards the entrance where a large bouncer stood, clipboard in hand.

“Name?” the bouncer asked.

“Derek Hale,” Tyler answered automatically, flinching and clearing his throat again. “Sorry about that, my name’s Der— er, Tyler Hoechlin.” He didn’t know why saying his name seemed like some Herculean feat, the actor having to clench his fists in order to get it out of his mouth.

The bouncer simply looked down at the list on the clipboard before nodding and ushering Tyler inside.

Tyler rubbed at his temples as he tried to piece together what was happening. However, the second he stepped foot inside, all of his senses appeared to have heightened as they were all assaulted at once. 

Tyler winced at the onslaught of stimuli: the lights in the room were far too bright and he had to nearly squint in order to adjust his sight; the music was blaring out of the speakers, blasting at a near deafening volume; and the stench of overpriced alcohol singed his nostrils, making him grimace. The stud was ready to about face until a familiar scent wafted by.

It took a few seconds for Tyler to realize that he’d been sniffing at the air like a search dog, blushing once he’d been made aware of the other celebrities eying him confusedly. Still, the familiar smell of curly fries alerted him to someone else’s presence, and he found himself barreling through the crowd towards the source.

Tyler’s gaze honed in on Stiles, the cute guy standing over by one of the tables. He was dressed in a suit that had a red coat that made Tyler’s heart flutter in his chest. Immediately, he felt his scowl starting to loosen up the slightest bit, and the more he approached, the quicker Tyler noticed the other guy talking to Stiles.

“Grrr…” Tyler growled out of instinct. As soon as the animalistic sound left his lips, the shocked stud slapped a hand over his mouth. He had no idea why he’d literally just growled like a dog, but once he looked back over at Stiles and the other man talking, he couldn’t prevent the sound from uttering from his lips once more, his large chest vibrating from the noise.

Stiles picked up on the noise and looked over in his direction, smiling and waving him over. “Hey!” he called.

Tyler ceased growling and couldn’t prevent the wide smile from growing on his face as he hurried over to his boyfriend— or past costar. As Tyler was trying to figure out why he was so eager to see the other guy, he wasn’t even aware of the fact that he wrapped a possessive arm around Stiles’s waist, pulling the smaller guy closer into him.

Stiles turned to the other man. “Jeff, you remember Derek, right?” he asked before furrowing his brow in confusion.

The other guy just looked over at Tyler and nodded. “I sure do,” he grinned, holding out his hand for Derek to shake. 

At first, the werewolf just sneered at the other man’s hand, jealousy still coursing through his veins. However, after a slight nudge from Stiles, Derek begrudgingly took it and squeezed it tightly, enjoying the slight wincing from the other man. “Nice to meet you,” he grunted.

Jeff didn’t look too fazed. “As I was telling Dylan, er, Stiles over here,” he said, “I was hoping to hear more about your stories in Beacon Hills. I’m with a large production company that would love to—”

“Not interested,” Derek interrupted, having absolutely zero desire to have his pack’s business advertised in any manner. He was as anti-social as they came, and the idea of talking to some big shot production guy made his headache grow.

Jeff frowned. “…yeah, I guess I did write him like this…”

Derek ignored that, and instead held on tightly to Stiles as he led him out of the crowd of people and towards the exit. They left the convention center and handed the valet the ticket.

“Der,” Stiles piped up, looking just as confused as he was, “um, how the hell did we get in LA?”

Derek’s brow furrowed too as he scratched at the back of his head. He felt like something was wrong, hearing some quiet voice in the back of his head that said that he wasn’t an alpha werewolf. For a brief second, his hairy muscles felt far too big and he wondered why he was so turned on by another man. However, the voice was immediately silenced when Stiles interlocked his fingers with his.

“No fuckin’ clue,” Derek finally said, shaking his head as he took the keys back from the valet. He and Stiles got into the Camaro, and Derek sped down the street back towards Beacon Hills. 

The alpha werewolf rested his arm around the headrest of Stiles’s seat, the motion making his large biceps stretch his leather jacket slightly. There was something weird happening in Hawkins and it wasn't the usual Upside Down related weird that usually happened.

Eddie could just sense it, some spooky shit was going down and he was here for it.

He had watched enough horror movies in his life to prepare for whatever potential shit was going to happen.

It occurred to him he was maybe being a tad dramatic, there was a definite change in the air but it didn't feel like anything to worry about.

Eddie never thought he would say this after helping Dustin, his friends and the super powered kid El defeat Vecna and close the Upside Down for good, but he was bored.

Hawkins was back to its pre Upside Down level of dull and while he was grateful he was still alive and kicking and the end of the world hadn't happened, he wanted a teeny bit of excitement.

Which is why he was convincing himself that the things happening were something to be investigated.

Mostly the spooky shit had been happening to him. Weird dreams, a sense that he was waiting for something or someone.

There was also the cute but pesky little black cat that had took up residence in his room.

It was kinda nice to have something happen even if it was vivid dreams and cute felines.

Which is why he was at your place, you were the new girl in town and everyone from Steve to Dustin to Gareth was intrigued by you.

There was something about you... Something that Eddie couldn't place, something different but he was sure you were why he was feeling like everything was different.

Not that he had officially met you yet but for some reason you were in his dreams a lot. They were weird and wonderful but still unexpected.

Eddie didn't know why he was dreaming of you, shit you were pratically a stranger to him but you appeared in his dreams and there was this sense that deep down he had known you all his life.

It was witchcraft or something. That much he knew. Something was afoot and Eddie wanted to find out what.

He had tried telling Dustin his thoughts about you but the little shrimp thought you hung the moon so it was no use.

Eddie didn't know what he expected to find when he arrived at your house, except for the fact it was decorated to the nines for Halloween, there was nothing strange about it.

In fact, Eddie admired how realistic some of the decorations looked and got distracted by the cats that were hanging around in your back yard.

He was just about to leave when he noticed sparkles of light in the air, at first he assumed they were fireflies but as he got closer he realised they were something else, balls of light shaped like orbs.

If he didn't know any better he would say there was something magical about the glowing sparkling orbs.

He was about to dismiss the fact that magic wasn't real but after all the shit he had seen it was enough for him not to rule out the thought entirely, enough for him to follow the lights that seemed to be beckoning him.

A small part of his mind wondered if this was the part in the horror films where he should run but he had a feeling that he wasn't in any danger.

That's when he saw you. The glowing lights circled around you and then disappeared with a flick of your hand.

What the fuck?

He stared at the spot where they had vanished and then at you.

Fuck, no wonder Steve was smitten. You were beautiful. He gawks at you for a second before feeling like an idiot.

"Uh hey" he attempts to appear cool and composed, determined not to turn into an awkward babbling idiot but you were just so pretty.

You stood in front of the house and admired your handiwork - you’d decorated the front porch with everything fall and spooky. It was the first year that you and Steve were spending in your new house - the place you’d decided to call home after getting married. Naturally, that meant that you were going to go all out. Steve had been at work all day but would be home soon - you wondered if he’d like your handiwork.

“Wow,” you’d been so wrapped up in your own little world as you’d decorated and hadn’t even heard Steve come home. You turned around to find your husband standing behind you, hands on his hips as he looked everything over. You moved closer to him and wrapped your arms around his waist, pressing a kiss to his cheek, “that’s a lot of pumpkins. How many pumpkins did you get?”

“Mind your business and don’t worry about it,” you were giggling as he took your face in his hands and pressed kisses to your cheeks before softly pressing his lips to yours. It was ridiculous just how giddy and excited he still made you feel, even after all this time together, “hi.”

“Hi angel,” he dropped his hands to your waist, giving you a gentle squeeze, “it looks wonderful.”

Every year, the lot of you had the tradition of going to the local fall and Halloween fair. There was everything and anything fall related that you could have ever imagined.

This year one big thing remained yet to be done - 

“Do you want to go to the corn maze?" You squeezed Steve's hand and tilted your head towards the entrance of the maze. You saw the kids standing in line, eager and excited to go in. 

"I feel we have to, right? Like it's tradition," he nodded as you made a small sound of excitement. You were tugging on his hand in the direction of the long line, motioning for Nancy and Robin to follow along and to bring Eddie and Chrissy with them. 

"It's definitely tradition," you agreed softly, "along with getting caramel corn and cotton candy before we leave!"

"Yes," he laughed softly, leaning his head on top of yours, "you just love the fall fair, don't you?"

"I love fall most of all," you agreed, before pausing for a moment, "but not as much as you, of course."

"Well that's reassuring to hear," not that he ever had to doubt that. He knew just how very much you loved him, "we'll get whatever you want before we leave."

"Can't forget some pumpkins," you were eyeing the big pumpkin patch where others were already hunting for their favorite pumpkins. Meanwhile Steve was staring at you with a confused expression, "what? Why are you looking at me like that?"

"More pumpkins?" He asked incredulously, "more?"

"Duh," you grinned, "we need ones to carve! They'll go right along with the others. Please Stevie?"

"I…of course," he shook his head with nothing but affection. As if he would ever say no to you for anything, "we'll carve the best pumpkins ever."

"Yay!" You bounced on your heels, "best friend and husband ever!"

"Mhmm," he stood behind you as you moved forward along with the line, "I better be since I'm doing this maze with you!"

"It'll be fun! It always is," you snorted in amusement, "we always get through it."

By the time you made it to the front of the line to go into the maze, it was already getting dark. Darker than you’d have liked it. You weren’t about to admit to Steve that the darkness made your nerves spike up; instead you gingerly took the flashlights that were proffered to you. You handed one to Steve and stepped inside of the expansive rows of corn.

“Let’s make this a little more interesting,” Eddie piped up and looked between your small group, “let’s split up and see who can get to the end first. There’s lots of different paths but they all lead to the end.”

“You dinguses are so on," Robin exchanged an excited look with Nancy who eagerly nodded. The two of them were like peas in a pod, "let's do it."

"Hell yeah," Eddie high-fived Robin before he turned his attention to you and Steve, "what about the two of you, huh lovebirds?"

"Yeah," you sounded unsure but looked to Steve for confirmation only to be met with just as unsure of a look, "totally. Let's do it."

"Alright gang," Eddie illuminated one of the paths with his flashlight, "Robin and Nance can go this way. We'll go this way and the two of you go down that path. See you all at the end!"

Before you could say anything else the others had already started to run off. You swallowed thickly before turning your attention back to Steve. You stood closer to him as if that was somehow going to make everything better, "so, ugh, I'm not easily scared as you know, but right now I'm terrified. What if we get lost here forever Stevie?"

"I promise that won't happen," he looped his arm through yours as he started to lead you toward the path you had been assigned, "as long as we figure out a way to mark where we've been it'll be fine. We can break a stalk or something. That way we'll know where we've been."

 "Okay. Its just that we've never been in here this late before and its so dark," you felt unsure suddenly, "promise-"

"I swear it," he whispered, "we'll be out of here in no time. And then we'll get all the sweets and pumpkins."

"I'm holding you to it!"

"It feels like we've been doing this forever," you cracked another stalk and looked at Steve with a huge pout on your face. He was tempted to kiss it away, but decided against it at that moment. He'd make up for it later and give you all the kisses. 

"It's only been about an hour," he reassured you softly. It had been a long hour nonetheless and meant bent stalks of corn and much backtracking. It was reassuring however that there were still lots of other people around you. In a way it was almost kind of eerie hearing all the different sounds around you but not seeing the people, "I'm sure we've gotta be close to the end."

"You're right," you agreed, smiling when Steve reached for your hand and laced your fingers together, "I'm sure it'll - ahh!"

You and Eddie screamed at each other as you clutched at your now wildly beating heart. You'd just turned a corner just as he had; only he was also missing Chrissy.

"I…what happened?" Steve looked between the two of you before trying to figure out where Chrissy was, "where's your girl?"

"I…don't know," he scratched the back of his neck sheepishly, "we were just walking around and the next thing I knew was that Chrissy was gone."

"I'm sure we'll catch up to her at the exit," someone had to be the voice of reason and apparently that was going to be you. You gulped as you heard a shriek from somewhere else in the maze, "let's just get going so we can escape."

"Good idea," the two friends agreed in union as you looped your free arm through Eddie's. You hoped that with the two of them at your side things wouldn't be as bad. 

But…you were still in the middle of a corn maze in the dark, cold night with nothing to help but measly flashlights.

You were definitely getting as many pumpkins as you wanted after this.

"I've never been happier!" Eddie threw up his arms as he ran through the exit of the maze. You spied Robin, Nancy, and Chrissy all standing at the side as they chatted away. "You've been on land," Chrissy was laughing however as you shook your head in amusement, "I can't believe you got lost!"

"At least you made it out," Robin crossed her arms over her chest as she looked around at your small group, "great job all, but Nance and I are the clear winners."

"I want a rematch!" Steve playfully glowered at her before he realized what he'd said, "next year."

"That's what I thought," and she was so smug that it caused you to laugh, "great job team!"

"C'mon Stevie," you leaned up and kissed him softly, "let's go and get those pumpkins and treats before they close. It's always getting late anyway."

"Okay," he half puffed but relaxed as you started to pull him towards the illuminated pumpkin patch, "hey - my promise came true! We made it out alive!"

Kunikida:

- Now Kunikida with his journal, obviously he’s planning a bunch of events/dates every day until halloween to fuel your obsession

- Sone ideas: Halloween movie binge night, Baking halloween treats, going to a haunted house and many more

- Hes scared for the haunted house but tries to act calm (it fails)

- Dresses up as something simple with you, (he only dressed up because you forced him)

- Dazai chuckling beside you to add he sees kunikida all dressed up

- (He is not letting Dazai ruin his and your schedule)

Atsushi:

-When he was younger he probably didn’t get to celebrate halloween that much so he’s happier that you are so excited about it

- He gets really happy hearing you so energetic about something you like

- He LOVES baking with you! Atsushi will even recommend new treats to try out

- Atsushi also bakes a few for his colleagues at the agency (specifically Ranpo, but every one else gets some too)

- Hes going as a tiger, like his ability but he also willing to try on costumes at the store with you

- When you guys look at some of the decor hes a bit scared of the “more scary stuff” so he avoids those aisles and hides behind you as you walk down them :)

- Also buys some with you (a bit scary, but not too scary)

- Some decor he’d like to buy is probably pumpkins, kid-friendly blow ups for your lawn, and some things like that

- Similar thing with halloween movies, he likes the non-scary movies (yeah don’t watch really scary halloween movies with him, he will cry)

Chuuya:

- Shocked

- How you went from normally quiet, Shy & introverted s/o an extrovert very knowledgeable about halloween

- Chuuya also LOVES seeing you like this

- While you guys go shopping, he accidentally sets off a prop and gets scared (now he’s in denial that he got scared)

- Buys EVERYTHING related to halloween in that store, if you mention about how much it most cost Chuuya will just say “anything for you, doll”

- Its like an early christmas present except it’s all about halloween

- No space in the house? He can hire someone to expand the property, theres also the mafia headquarters for more storage (ya’ll probably have a huge house though so it’ll fit in a store room somewhere)

- Also buys A LOT of baking materials so you guys can make pumpkin pie, pumpkin cupcakes, pumpkin loaf, pumpkin pretzels and many more

- Cuddles while movie binging (he might get scared at some of the movies but deny it (it’s really obvious when he dies because he grabs onto you tighter))

I also just finished a big 200k plus story and want a little break before starting the next big thing. And on top of that, it’s my wonderful friend Babbushka’s 10 year blogiversary! So, we’re going to celebrate in our favorite ways — by writing spooky stories and tormenting our favorite characters!

Ive been brainrotting about little blade rahh..... SO I WILL DUMP ABOUT MY THOUGHTS!! warning: mentions of spiraling, scratching(?) and dissociation

-whenever he starts spiraling/his mara acts up he'll immediately regress HARD, to around like 0 - 1, Kafka usually is the one who takes care of him whenever he's like that. he'd get very shut off but Kafka learnt how to deal with him(made a guide book on how to deal with blade when he gets like that, gave it to jing yuan) -he usually gets very quiet whenever he regresses, he also gets very out of it and might dissociate from time to time.(everyone lets him be until they notice it getting worse) -blade immediately gets distracted/oddly finds comfort from bells or things that like made sounds! Jing yuan usually finds it adorable so he added bells to his keychains for blade to play with whenever they went out and he'd suddenly regress. -little blade always gets jing yuan or kafka to prepare for halloween! he just adores halloween or anything spooky related! -little or big blade always get either jing yuan or kafka to watch horror movies, little blade always insists on watching the grown up horror movies but jy or kafka always advise him/or not allow him to watch it! -little blade always ends up having protection gloves on! he likes keeping his nails very long buut he has a scratching problem(scratches stuff or himself) so gloves always end up being used(same can apply to pacifiers! he has a biting problem) ! THATS ALLLL! not a lot buuut thats all i can think of as of rn

11. Tina and the Real Ghost--This one's more awkward than funny. I honestly feel bad for Tina for falling in love with an empty box...and grow to hate Tammy for being so petty to steal the box away from her. Even the B-Plot of ghost hunters in the restaurant isn't all that funny. Honestly, the funniest bit is when Bob's unexpectedly swarmed with bugs after a brief moment of cockiness. Other than that, pretty weak episode.

10. The Wolf of Wharf Street--PROBABLY the most irresponsible Linda's been with the kids and Bob believing Teddy's a werewolf was a bit of a stretch. Still, some spooky atmosphere carries this one a bit, so I can't hate it THAT much.

9. Apple Gore-chard! (But Not Gory)--There need to be more episodes with Louise and Jessica. Their friendship is easy and cute in a lot of moments. Anyways, as for the episode, it's pretty standard. Some REAL Halloween stuff doesn't happen until half way through and the jokes aren't all that funny. There's barely any attention on the lesson, making it feel more like a waste of time if anything else. It's just Louise and Jessica's friendship that carries things if anything else (Seriously, MORE of that)

8. Pig Trouble in Little Tina--A great episode about peer pressure and with a fun subplot about Bob's gross ear wax. It's just that none of it screams HALLOWEEN to me. There's some spooky imagery, but a lot of this episode feels like something that could happen in ANY episode, especially Bob's subplot. Great episode, but not so great of a Halloween special.

7. Heartbreak Hotel-oween--This one's cute. That's all I can say.

6. Teen-a Witch--Tina trying to be a witch is more cute than it should be, even if the jokes aren't strong with this one. Thankfully the subplot of Bob obsessing over who's stealing his jack-o-lanterns is funny enough to carry it.

5. The Pumpkinening--Weird title, but it's an episode with Gayle. They're naturally weird, and this one's no exception as Linda and Gayle hunting down who knows that they smashed pumpkins from a contest. Add that with a warm ending and a great subplot of Bob dealing with the stress of being a house with GOOD candy, and you got something fun.

4. Nightmare on Ocean Avenue Street--The kids hunting down a candy kidnapper is fun and Bob and Teddy trying to show up an impressive handyman has some good laughs to it. Solid special.

3. Full Bars--It's always fun seeing the Belcher kids use their brand of chaos to do something good. The only thing that drags it down is the guinea pig murder mystery. Some good jokes are there, but I can't help but cringe as Teddy ruins his own party and the payoff isn't all that funny. That credit scene where Bob danced in the fat suit for Linda was cute as shit, though.

2. Fort Night--The introduction to Millie, and a great one at that as she tortures the kids who are in a situation that's...way more dangerous than you think in hindsight. They really were that close to death, huh? Still, a pretty empathetic episode as we all know there's no worse fate for a kid than missing Halloween and you REALLY want them to get out. And I'm sure some parents can relate to Bob and Linda's plight to make a costume for their kids and the payoff for this one is pretty good.

1. The Hauntening--A genuinely creepy and intense special for this show, where the jokes don't take away from the scares but add to them. This really feels like how these characters would react to a horrifying situation, making you fear for their lives even more. And even the big twist in the end doesn't ruin the episode, but adds to it, showing how much this family cares for each other and how much they'll do to make one of them happy. They might have gone a LITTLE far, but it's in that gray area where you can accept it. Being sweet and spooky is no other combination you can get from any other show except for this one, and I love it.

And that's all. Well, for now. Season 14 hasn't had its Halloween special yet. It's probably pulling a Simpsons and waiting until November for some reason. And I'm not waiting until then. This is the Halloween Special on MY blog, so there. Happy Halloween.

Oh yay Halloween his favorite holiday. Honestly that may or may not be true depending since so much spooky stuff and bad luck is associated with the holiday. So he's either the luckiest or unluckiest on this day.

Would love to do couples costumes with you, but already knows something is going to go wrong.

You'll be all ready and so will he and then the worst wardrobe malfunction happens. Or his costume ends up being a size too small. Just something going wrong.

But considering you still look amazing and fantastic, he considers being able to look at you to be his good luck for the day.

Kokichi

Oh he'd love spending Halloween with you. Usually it was his troupe doing small pranks or going trick or treating together. But having you matching with him sounds great.

Would absolutely suggest the classic donkey costume with you being the ass section. He's of course joking, but seeing your reaction to the idea would be priceless.

You have to know that you two are dressing up as phantom thieves. Or he'll say you both are and then he'll be in a detective outfit to mess with you (and Shuichi if he's around).

Just don't expect to not be pranked at all. He'll make it up to you, but you're bound to be pranked somehow by him.

Kuzuryu

Would absolutely object to the idea of couple's costumes. He wouldn't even really want to celebrate Halloween. He's too busy with the Yakuza to have a holiday.

If you pout enough then he'll cave but he's still very unsure about doing a couple's costume.

What would you two even be? He will not have you dressed as part of the Yakuza though. Please do not do that to him.

It very much becomes a "I don't know what the fuck I'm doing, you choose" and he'll probably act like he regrets whatever you go with. But you're happy so he supposes it's not to bad

Yeah he'll be fine with doing couple's costumes with you. Just let him look up some costumes for reference and to get ideas. If you have some ideas of your own then he's cool with listening.

Might suggest seeing if Tsumugi would mind making you both some costumes. Doesn't want to put too much work on her though, but it is an idea and he can at least ask.

Honestly really chill. Usually spends his Halloween helping his sister's with their costumes and prep as well as making sure they have plenty of candy before they leave the house.

So he's happy to wear matching costumes with you as long as you're happy going along with his sisters to trick or treat.
