#I don't know Arabic so I can't weigh in that much but if you say so!#it seems like these mean “sword” and “golden” respectively that's neat #Machete wouldn't be able to cling to his Catholic guilt in that case #I don't think Islam has the same concept of original sin that Christianity does #I'm simplifying but it's a belief that humans are born with an innate tendency for evil sinning is part of our nature #and staying on the positive and in God's good graces requires a lot of repentance which can lead to excess guilt and shame #I could be wrong but I'm under the impression that this idea of a manufacturing error is a very Christian thing #sorry I know you didn't sign up to hear me try to talk about big theology things and I don't want to make it weird #but I find this stuff really interesting I unironically like to read and think about how religions work #and how they shape things they come in contact with #in Machete's case in particular his troubled relationship with God and his career choice are big parts of his character #and why he turned the way he did and thinks the way he does you know #answered #kachavashka #Dhahabi is such a regal sounding name #I'd steal that in a heartbeat if I didn't already have one extremely gold-coded character

#I have majorly slipped up in some major sin and mental issues I've been struggling with for a while #and the problem is that I sometimes choose to make the wrong choice even knowing it's wrong #which is what I have done today #like.... yeah. Just pray for me please I'm going through the whole repent and move on thing #but I feel like I'm going in circles and I just keep making the wrong choice in this particular way #I know that self control is part of the fruit of the Spirit. so how come every so often I choose Not to control myself??

God gave you so many chances to obey before punishing you, well he gives you your whole life as a chance to repent so counting to three for a toddler hardly seems like a big deal to me but go off

Constantly in this weird mood where I’m just waiting for God to give me a sign that I’m forgiven because I can’t tell if it’s just my OCD or if I actually have gone over the deep end somehow. I’m not doing compulsions to try to figure it out, so that’s Good, but it just puts me at God’s mercy for whether or not I feel like I can come to Him and believe I’m saved

#And that’s the point of this all I guess #Re: the article I literally wrote and got published #But it’s now been almost a week since the Bad #And I haven’t known if THAT was #1. Evidence I’m not saved #2. Me sinning myself past repentance a la John Piper #3. Evidence that I’m sinning willfully (therefore see point number 1)#Haven’t felt like I was able to connect with God in a week basically #Feels weird #Playing flute at church tomorrow and am Unsure how I’m going to do in a church setting #Will likely just tune it all out and go about business as usual #All the while not knowing if I can still go to God or not #Like I feel like I need something #I don’t feel like my assurance is just going to come back after that #Sometimes it goes away for like a week and comes back and then I feel ok #But this time I don’t know if that’s going to happen #So I need God to talk to me TLDR #My journey

A bit about each of them:

Valda Aeducan x Leliana

Named after a former great queen of the aeducan house, Valda is a proud warrior with her mother's eyes and her father didn't even try to hide that she was his favorite, causing both brothers to resent her...(Also, all dwarves can grow beards! Most women in orzammar just chose not to... probably due to a human lover of a paragon at one point who accidentally made it a fad in her time lol...When she gets to the surface Valda starts to occasionally grow hers out)

Antoinette "Atton" Tabris x Morrigan

Atton is very butch and most non elves mistake her as a man, something she used to her advantage to survive the alliangae, she's a rogue with quick hands and a quicker wit. she has a lot of rage against nobles and she doesn't try to hide it (she and Valda exist in tandem and it takes *awhile* for them to get along)

Marian "Rain" Hawke x Isabela x Merrill

("Wow hawke, how come the Maker lets you have TWO GFS?!") To strangers she's a sarcastic ass who comes across as borderline lackadaisical, but her inner circle knows shes extremely driven and can be deadly serious when needed, had a twin brother who died at ogstagar to save carver so he in turn could save their family, it took her well over a year to even say his name again.

Pallegina Trevelyan x Sera (Trevelyan)

Youngest of seven, greatness was never really expected of Pallegina, who was always a bit quiet and socially awkward, she didn't take to politics as quick as her siblings, and was usually just ignored by her parents, but one of her older brothers trained her with the sword and shield and she proved to be a natural warrior, she was sent to the conclave as an expendable formality. Thanks to the support of her friends she's taken to being the inquisitor remarkably well... tho Josephine often has to work overtime to fix her many faux pas

I have a dumb question, and I really hope this doesn’t sound rude. What’s the logic for some of the characters? Like, if they’re the “hero” in their storyline, but they don’t seem to follow Biblical doctrine… does that even count? I’m sorry if that sounds snotty; I don’t mean to have an attitude.

Short answer: I don't know, I'm not the one sending in the characters 😂

But really I would say there's not necessarily a consistent logic that they have to fit. That's part of the beauty of Christianity, isn't it? Anyone who repents and believes is welcome; it's not limited to any certain type of people. For the characters people are sending in here, I think there are a few categories. There are some that fit what you said, who already hold Christian morals and who one could easily headcanon as being Christian within the story. Sometimes people send in villains who they want to have redemption arcs and become Christian. Sometimes it's characters who are Christian; mostly it's characters people would like to see become Christian.

#my favorite character who i headcanon as Christian is one who generally has very Christian morals and really wants to do good #but also lies a lot. and i think in that case it's like i could see him being Christian in the story #because Christians aren't perfect and even people who don't have their whole act together can believe #I'm not justifying continuing to do wrong. I'm trying to figure out how to phrase it #i think there's some post I've seen about how even terrible characters who do terrible things can be Christian #if they're repentant i think? point being that all of us are sinners and a character doesn't have to be perfectly good to be a believer #because none of us are. and a line from a song i know 'though I'm wretched i am not faithless' about a character who #has done bad things and is struggling to reconcile his actions with God's love and forgiveness #anyway. i was saying the character i like comes across to me as an imperfect Christian but also as someone who could really benefit from #learning and growing in the faith. i want to see that character grow morally stronger and become more like Jesus!!!#it would be good for him 🤷‍♀️#and that's kinda the point of most of the characters people send. they either seem like they could genuinely BE Christian #or are characters people think really need Christianity in their lives #sometimes it's 'this character seems Christian' and sometimes it's 'i like this character and want them to become Christian'#i think characters who don't follow Biblical doctrine fall under either imperfect and learning Christian or needs Jesus in their life #ask
