first thing i drew on my new tablet to test it out is the tv beast themselves

#gonna take a while to get used to... tfw u get an intuos for the buttons but realize u have #way too much muscle memory for ur old keyboard shortcuts (im talking YEARS. of the same/similar shortcuts. like. when did i get my first #tablet???? 2015??? YEAH.) minor details, but in chapter 68 of trimax we do see this bit:

the items that vash kept in his coat.

a "funbari doll" (which i cant find anything definite online about what that is with just a cursory look, so im going to run under the assumption that theyre some kind of collectable in-universe) & it's a red one, which is apparently rare. he still has the same pen radio that connects to his earring that's used waaay back on the sandsteamer. a swiss army knife, a random key, a used tissue (?), and...

a lighter? blow torch? i still cant tell what that last bar thing is tho. & i guess he had some kind of (normal) coin too? but Only One.

love the characterization implications for this lol. definitely the kind of pocket contents i'd expect from a silly immortal with a big coat

Both love and hate the absolute DELUGE of ink a fresh sharpie unleashes onto the paper the instant it makes contact…. I have complicated feelings towards the deluge lmao

#pepper words #it might not even only be fresh sharpies idk. I don’t remember… it might always be a deluge #until it starts to die #I use to ONLY use sharpies to draw traditionally for like the longest time. but then I got fancy pens and shit.#that dont piss out all there ink instantly #it’s kinda fun tho.. like it forces you to draw faster. and press lighter. and just. be looser w ur lines #and even when ur being loose it’s STILL making thick as hell lines. but. that’s also kinda interesting..?#idk. it’s kinda fun using them again sometimes. I feel like it’s kinda freeing. u just have to accept what the sharpie puts out #u can only control it so much. u have to let go of that urge for perfection and take what u get #I feel like currently I really struggle w. liking my sketches more than my lines. and trying to replicate all my sketchwork #into my linework… but lines are not sketches!!! so it leads to linework I don’t like either cuz it’s all scratchy and weird #i feel like. 1 I need to learn. to let some pictures just be sketches. like if I like the look of my sketch and wanna keep that loose #conceptual sorta look. to just. not line it. not try to replicate a sketch in lines #and 2! to embrace smoothness in my linework more… to accept my lines. not looking exactly like my sketch #and to not go over every single sketch stroke in ink to try and achieve that.. cuz it doesn’t work!!!!!#and.. uhhh. yeah! Im so sorry I chipped ur paint to shit #ngl the texture on the new one's better off the bat. the grip's better and it has good kinetic feedback #too bad abt the touch buttons tho... I was confident I could make use of them but alas #things need actual feelable buttons again please I can Not tell where anything is when Im drawing and cant look at the tablet #my eyes are on the screen!! Im bad at gauging distance!!! please give me buttons I can find in the dark. please #even the old huion which has actual buttons I still couldnt use them. bc theyre not raised #theyre flat to the tablet's surface. you know what I shouldve tacked raised stickers on them I was stupid there #well! the more u learn. the more u learn #I'm happy with the current tablet tho!! buttons stuff aside it's nice to draw on. and thats what important. wrists dont hurt no more #almost said ''I miss the wacom eraser end" I don't. not really. every time I used that thang I was like wow you are so imprecise and blunt #litcherally why would you want basically a mappable stylus end but it's 50 times the size of a normal nib and you cant see where ur drawing #especially on a screen tablet. the dynamic there makes absolutely no sense #I can really do the same thing now by mapping one of the stylus buttons to swap foreground color to transparency #anyways. this has been my testimonies on tablets. in the tags of a dip pen ink post lmao #well! this is a late post I shouldve posted this before art fight. thank u again to that anon who reminded me #have a good day lads! we can answer emails together. hands in professional hands

k so been a while since i shared some art on here yeah yeah?

right so, here are some (very out of order) sketch pages I managed to filled up back in May that I actually still really like enough to post publicly

its mostly just referenced drawings and redraws of clown’s work, but with a close eye you can spot a couple were referenced from some of @forgrtashes-blog’s fanart

As above so below! this lovely redraw was referenced from one of @dxkjf ‘s lovely sketches of Frank and Eddie cuddling <3

I remember I had fun with this one in a sort of frustrating way, it was certainly a reminder for me to make more of an effort to draw more complicated character interactions going forwards like hugs! (an embarrassing amount of brain power was dedicated to figuring out the limb placements…)

also feat. the most recent sketches of frank i’ve done so far! (well i think so anyways)

and somehow idk how but somehow i ended really like a lot of the art I made while trying to study frank’s design more in depth! there are some actual pages where i was studying and making notes of wally’s design as well but, i like the look of those pages a lot less than these ones, so yeah no only I gets to see those haha

by the time i was “done” with my informal art study of frank, school stuff was starting to pile up more and more and i had basically no trying for drawing anymore

but!!! these 3 franks are basically (+1 other) are the most recent sketches and while not a lot, i think it kinda show through how much better i got at drawing frank <3

overall in terms of progressing my art journey this was all so very fun and informative, hopefully things in my life will align to let me have the free time to do more of this again soon!!

oooooh definitely good at hiding his thoughts!!

i actually think he had bitchy poker face most of the time, to the point people got surprised when they see him break character and emote. (and why his/james relationship is such a !!! thing)

and i see it as a control thing for him; u decide how much of urself u wanna show the people around u. developed as a survival/coping mechanism during his childhood where he could rile his parents up by pretending to not care.

i also think the most visible emotion for him was anger, and that’s also mostly bc he’s so terrifying when he’s in a rage lol.

#sirius black #idk about canonical basis for any of this #but this is what i think #i think a lot of sirius’ behaviours come out of an abusive childhood tbh #but again that’s a lot of conjecture #i’m also not using poa as an example of emoting #bc it was such an extreme situation #and i dont like him being called dramatic bc of the shack scene #and i don’t think it was most accurate anyway #this is what i think sirius was pre azkaban and how he’d be if he didn’t go there #now james tho. he feels like the heart on a sleeve kinda person #but—u can def see shit playing out on his face in real time #not that it HAS to be a binary #bc he grew up in such a safe loving atmosphere where he never rly needed to hide #pen’s asks

every time im sleeping a little TOO well i have to examine it and. hm.
