Improved needlefeet allow for lightspeed leaps; Retractable "fins" purposed to boost speed when opened were implanted there. Powerful zero-point manipulators inserted in the tips of his feet, mostly used for energy attacks like kicks and blasts, but also for jumps, flying, and even more extra speed. As well, derezzing tech allows him to transform everything below the knee into a virtually atom-thin blade.

Spinal cord upgraded with gyroscopes and antigrav engines, allowing him to levitate and maneuver more effectively.

Shield tech improved, allowing almost indefinite armor lock given he doesn't change his pose (given the demiboy bitch can fly, it isn't a problem).

Update for people!

I had my surgery and… oh my gosh. I knew intellectually that it would help my mental health, I wasn’t prepared for how much how quickly. Life is… so much better now. I love the mirror now. Something I used to think would be impossible.

Hey, I've talked about Fluxom before, right? Like, I've done something by Fluxom before... Fluxom, one of the most influential early authors in the setting... right? Right?!

Now, one may quibble about the purpose of the list, or one may quibble about the selection, but let's be perfectly clear - if you want to write HDG, you really really really should read Abscission. It is a solid half the bedrock this setting is built on. There is a solid argument to be made that we are writing in Fluxom's setting just as much as in Glitchy's.

But I decided I wouldn't do foundational works, because, c'mon, everyone knows they're good. So instead: In Sleep We Fell, which, delightfully, my autism finally let me read. And I finally got to understand why Snuggly is something of a community mascot. Dear lord - an egg after my own heart, so depressed he can't even muster the energy to engage with the giant invading plant people, slowly broken into a cuddly, happy pet over the course of about a year in a J-Cafe.

And that's arc one. Did I mention this is a oneshot?

For a oneshot, this story covers some impressive ground. By the end of the story, Snuggly is the absolute model of a mischievous catgirl, with a loving owner who knows that the perfect time for vines in her ass is immediately after morphing her nullge into a pussy with a heat cycle. (Yeah, you can tell that this is an old fic by the fact that our author put a single heavily content-warning'd sex scene in the post-post-script.) Despite how much ground is covered, the fic feels well-paced and well-written, and the reveals and plot beats, many of which are fairly "standard practice" today, are still top-of-the-line. Excellent stuff, Fluxom writing is good.
