I really wanted to write my own tribute on Monday, but I was busy with work and people. Finding out at work was not the easiest. I had to keep myself composed otherwise I would have bursted into tears. . In the first photo are items that Stan Lee autographed. The second are my thoughts that I got down Monday night on his passing. As you can see, this figure meant a lot to me (and I’m aware of his history concerning Kirby and other artists). . My first ever autograph from him was when I went to my first ever con. My mind was made up, he was going to sign a piece of paper that I was going to hold on to and possibly get framed. When it was my turn to get something autographed, I panicked and thrusted my #NYCC2012 guidebook to the person assisting Lee. I was shaking so much because in my face was Stan fucking Lee. I was so damn happy. . In 2013, I felt like I needed to redeem myself. So this time I had made sure I planned it out more smoothly. I happened to pass by a booth that had fan art where everything was gray but the artist would color just one part. The eyes got colored blue. I think I was calmer this time around. Walked away extremely happy with my print tucked safely away in a sleeve. . It was announced that #NYCC2016 was going to be Lee’s last appearance. For a long time I thought about what would be appropriate to commemorate my last meet up with him. Eventually, I felt that my con badge would be best. It felt more personal. While he was signing my badge, he looked up and smiled at me. I’m sure my cheeks were sore from my own smiling later that day. That smile I will always carry with me. That moment was extremely special. . Stan, I will miss your cameos, i will miss your twitter videos, I will miss your appearances, I will miss you. I felt extremely lucky to have seen you one more time and gifted me with a smile. . Flash back Friday this is how I started cosplay thanks to my little bro @alex.solivan on 2012, that he cosplay as Death The Kid From Soul Eater and I went as Scorpion from Mortal Kombat series. I'm going do a mortal Kombat character again maybe this year or next year but will surprise everyone. "Hip-Hop And Comics: Cultures Combining" panel at New York Comic-Con

Depth Of Field Magazine brings together renowned comic creators and Hip-Hop legends to discuss ties between the forms, upcoming projects, and shared inspirations

On Saturday, October 13th, from 5:15-6:15pm, Depth Of Field Magazine is proud to present Hip-Hop And Comics: Cultures Combining, a panel discussion at the East Coast's largest entertainment gathering.  Comic books and Hip-Hop both grew from modest origins in New York City to achieve global impact, and in the process, they have crossed over in a variety of ways – this panel will showcase new and upcoming projects from comic creators and Hip-Hop legends, shed light on the ways Hip-Hop and comics have influenced and inspired each other, and give perspective on the common history of two cultures through discussion with musical legends, artistic innovators, and cutting-edge comic creators.

Patrick Reed (editor of Depth Of Field Magazine) will moderate, and the panelists comprise many of the most influential creators in their respective fields, including:

-Eric Orr (graffiti and fine artist, graphic designer, creator of "Rappin' Max Robot", the first rap comic book)

-Ron Wilson (artist of Marvel's The Thing and Wolfpack, creator of the upcoming Battle Rappers series)

-Adam "Illus" Wallenta (co-creator of the Public Enemy comic book, acclaimed MC, artist of numerous album covers)

-Ronald Wimberly (creator of Vertigo's new 'Prince Of Cats' graphic novel, artist of MF Grimm's 'Life Sentences' graphic novel)

-Kagan McLeod (professional illustrator, writer/artist of Top Shelf's 'Infinite Kung Fu' graphic novel)

-Johnny "Juice" Rosado (DJ and producer for Public Enemy, Leaders Of The New School, Son Of Bazerk, and other acts)

-Pete Rock (pioneering producer and DJ, half of legendary Hip-Hop duo Pete Rock & CL Smooth)

-Jean Grae (celebrated MC and producer)

-Darryl DMC McDaniels (Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee, creator of the upcoming DMC comic and graphic novel, member of RUN-DMC)

The panel runs one hour, and will take place in room 1A06.  Preceding the panel, there will be two hours of signings with the speakers – these signings will take place from 2-4pm at table 6 in NYCC's autographing area.
