The bit of your snippet where it is mentioned that lisa is very found of jean’s daughter made me weep. THATS SO CUTE
and, since she’s two years and, if I remember correctly, that’s the time necessary for the marriage to make kaeya’s citizenship official, do you think jean and kaeya will divorce? since each of their own initial interests were already guaranteed.
or they might keep the marriage out of friendship, since they’re close friends and enjoy each other’s companies?
Timing-wise, the child (as yet unnamed) actually comes about after the sequel fic. Which is why I noted that's from a somewhat nebulous future; I have a pretty strong idea of where I want relationships to go overall, but I haven't finished the first draft of that yet and sometimes things leap up and surprise me when I'm writing. A side-thread of said sequel fic, so far, is that it's set not quite two years after An Open Hand (starting in March, while AOH was mostly in May--when I was doing the second draft on that one I had to sit down and write out a timeline, so I can tell you that May 12 is the wedding anniversary :D), and that point there isn't a child yet, and Jean in particular has to make some calculations and choices about her future that means the potential for divorce gets discussed! In both its pros and its cons.
But once a kid does enter the picture, honestly, I can't see Kaeya, largely raised by someone who (from what little we get about him) seems like a very good dad, and canonically a big-brother figure to multiple kids, wanting to just fade out of his daughter's life. Nor can I see Jean kicking him out of it! The endgame I have in mind at the moment is that he remains a Gunnhildr, one way or another*, and Jean and Lisa become serious girlfriends, with Lisa being somewhere between step-mother and cool aunt for Jean's daughter.
(I have joked to aromantic-eight about Kaeya asking whether there's actually a law against marrying two people in Mondstadt, but, as they pointed out, officially joining the Gunnhildr clan is kind of A Lot and Lisa would not necessarily be up to that? Even on housing logistics alone, I see her as someone who really likes having her own space and would resist moving into the clan mansion and putting herself under Fredrica's household authority.)

Where do you think was the tipping point/point of no return that meant that nightless City take 2 was going to happen and wwx was going to die? (imo there was no way that wwx could have gone to nightless city and walked away alive regardless of what actually happened there or sequence of events - even if jyl hadn’t been there or hadn’t died he still wouldn’t have lived)
I think maybe he could have fled into the night right after he called them all hypocritical murder assholes (fair point, but perhaps not the time). In the book he does actually get away from the battle at nightless city, it’s just that he’d killed enough people by that point everyone agreed it was worth the trouble of attacking him in the burial mounds, which is not a trivial endeavour. You’ve gotta commit manpower, and a lot of your people are probably going to die in the attempt. I think it’s telling that in both the book and drama while Jin Guangshan is clearly trying to get everyone on board with a siege even before Wei Wuxian shows up all he’s actually gotten Mingjue and Xichen to agree to is a vow of everlasting opposition and a promise to enforce a permaban on his reintegration into polite society. Jiang Cheng fairly publicly declines to take the oath, either because he’s being sentimental or because he is still holding out hope that it will matter.
So while I don’t think there is any chance that him showing up changes the fact that the vast majority of the cultivation world has agreed that he’s a murderous criminal who should be shot on sight, I do think if his necromancy Uber is fast enough and he disengaged before anybody else dies- or maybe even if he only killed that one guy who shot him- he probably could have backed down and there’s at least a chance Jin Guangshan wouldn’t have been able to convince enough people that the siege is a good idea. Or he could have run back to Lotus Pier and Jiang Cheng probably would have given him a sack of silver and helped him disappear the way Jiggy was planning to. I think the bigger problem is that there’s no way Wei Wuxian would ever do those things. He only leaves in the book because he’s basically catatonic with grief over Yanli and Lan Wangji is steering. He showed up for a fight, and I can’t see him, at that stage in his life, being willing to basically cede the argument and let them all agree that the real problem is that he and his dead friends are monsters who just can’t stop murdering people even when they’re trying to help them.

Jonathan: I was only reborn for a few minutes before you and your men hunted me down like a beast! Geoffrey: You were only reborn for a few minutes and you’d already taken the life of an innocent woman!
Obviously he wouldn’t have known it immediately but Geoffrey 100% would have been able to figure out that the woman Jonathan killed was his sister. And that definitely contributes to why he goes from giving Jonathan a little bit of breathing room to hating his fucking guts by the time their fight rolls around. Having a family member turn and kill relatives is personal to him, and proves his point that they’re mindless bloodthirsty animals if they turn on their loved ones so readily.
Granted -- I don’t think he knew about Mary coming back and having to be killed a second time, but that would also hit very close to home for Geoffrey considering what happened with Ian. And it might make him a little more sympathetic.

I would also like to point out that beling like "my brother is going to kill me" and "the only person who can talk shit about my brother is me so stfu" are not mutually exclusive.
As the owner of three brothers I can attest that those are usually felt at the same time in various degrees.
Often accompanied with "I'm going to kill this moron and make it look like an accident"
Lovingly.

Lol my brothers are finally starting to have girl problems and they try to come to me, a girl, for advice. However, I'm ace as all heck and have never dated anyone, so when they ask me how to tell a girl that they're not interested the best advice I can give is "tell her you're taking an oath of celibacy"

To make an oath to each other:
*string
*a pen
*a pendant for each person (optional)
*a book on friendship bracelets if you don't know how
*a candle to set the mood in a dark room (optional)
Weave each other's bracelets, adding a pendant if you'd like. Before you give it to them, each of you draw the sigil on the palm/ankle you're going to wear it, and say:
"Through thick and thin,
Not together by blood
But chosen as kin."
Tumblr media
Now exchange bracelets. If there's more than 2 people, exchange them in a circle clockwise. Hold hands to activate.
You can also make it into necklaces or rings or whatever is meaningful to y'all!

Example of me taking some things too seriously such as the wording of processes I know extremely well 😅 sorry in advanced:
I found my first real gripe in Midnight Sun, and it has to do with the medical field.
So, when deciding the best way to go about getting Bella to the hospital post-James, they're working on how to get blood for the staging of Bella-falling-down-the-stairs. And they refer to it as "the emergency wing's blood storage room" which is incorrect.
Now, I know some hospitals do have a blood bank near or inside the ER, but most do not. And either way, the blood is accessible to nurses and doctors but they're not allowed to just come in and get it as they please ON THEIR OWN. Instead, the nurse usually, or a clerk or somebody, would go into the blood bank where they will request what they need from the blood banker (an MLS specifically trained in this field), and based on the information about the patient they can get emergency released O Pos for males and females over 55, or emergency released O Neg for females of child-bearing age. And if they're a fancy trauma center (as is what I'm used to) they can get whole blood for their level one traumas. Or they can get blood they previously ordered which has been crossmatched by an experienced blood banker (through various techniques which vary from hospital to hospital. For example mine does an immediate spin crossmatch for blood as we do not rely on computers for that)
Anyway, it just bothers me because I KNOW if a doctor or nurse had unlimited access to blood products with just their education alone, we would have many many sentinel events. (Example driving this home, I have had a nurse come and get blood for patient A but had patient Bs information on them and verified everything for patient B even though it was for patient A and thankfully even though he had the blood ready to infuse which he did this process completely wrong, he still waited on the computer to verify everything before starting. And the computer said nope! Wrong patient. So he didn't start the transfusion. If he had, that patient probably would have died because he had patient Bs A positive blood that he was trying to give to O positive patient A. Needless to say I wrote up that entire event and submitted to the higher ups and he probably went through some serious retraining)

Honestly, one thing “all myths are true” settings don’t utilize nearly enough is the idea that everyone has a secret world and yet everyone thinks their magical world is the only one.
Like imagine a book where at 13 a kid learns from their mom that they’re the grandchild of Zeus and makes them swear not to tell anyone even your father, and then they turn 16 and their dad reveals that fairies exist and also swears them to secrecy, even from your mother. At which point a lot of their life starts making more sense, and they have to figure a way past two magical oaths before their household breaks under the strain of constant lying.
Bonus: There’s a younger sibling who hasn’t been brought in on either masquerade and who everyone has to dodge, until everything comes clear at the end and they’re like “Oh good, now I can tell you about that time I shrank down and went on a quest with mice.”.

Sacrifice: Part Two
You know if this year’s harvest is damaged by the predicted frost, it will be very bad for your town. You agree that appealing to the ancient forest god worshiped in this area hundreds of years ago is worth trying. However, the Councilor’s translation of the ancient rituals is crap and when you argue with him, backed by your own translations, you’re still pushed aside.
Imagine your surprise when the name of the unmarried woman to be chosen for sacrifice is your own.
Now you need to figure out a way to save, not only your town, but also yourself.
Great.
Fantasy, sacrifice to a harvest/forest god, friends to lovers, malemonsterxfemalereader, M/F, Part 2 of 8
Story Status: Complete
AO3: Sacrifice Chapter 2
Warnings: dubious consent to ritual sacrifice/medical preparation, including being tied up and treated with a paralytic agent
[Part One] Part Two [Part Three] [Part Four] [Part Five] [Part Six] [Part Seven - NSFW] [Part Eight]
You’re starting to really regret ever going along with this ridiculous idea.
You didn’t actually feel nervous about the ritual until you figured out the Councilor had the apothecary re-create the medical paint instead of the ceremonial one. Because of course he’d be just good enough at translating to manage that.
In priest or priest initiations, from what you’ve managed to translate, a ceremonial body paint was used. Abstract swirls and deep colors were drawn all over the body of the person who was being welcomed into temple service, usually by family members or prominent members of society. You’d expected that and had agreed to your team of two of your sisters, your sister-in-law, the wife of one of the other councilors, and grudgingly, Councilor Wilder’s wife, to help you prepare and dress for the ritual.
Then the first layer of paint on your legs made them go numb. You quickly deduced that he had decided, since this was a ritual sacrifice, that the medical paint—usually applied to small areas of the body to manage pain or in preparation for surgery performed by priest or priestesses—was the most appropriate choice.
Your sisters had all backed you up when they realized what they were doing and another meeting was called since he’d never mentioned that before. He’d tried to bluster around the deception, saying it should be obvious, but it had disturbed the other councilors enough for another debate to start. Councilor Wilder insisted that if the ritual he’d ‘translated’ was not performed exactly as he said it should, it would fail. Eventually, you, your father, and two other councilor’s brokered an agreement to the use of the medical paint only if he signed an oath that, if the ritual failed, he would not protest any next course of action, would never try to propose such a sacrifice again, and would not appeal any of your own translations without an expert from out of town to back him up.
You hated the idea of being partially paralyzed, but it would be worth it if he was silenced after tonight’s failure. You could easily see Wilder continuing to tweak his ritual if it didn’t succeed for days or weeks, wasting precious time when something needed to be done to save the town.
Your father trusted your conclusion that you would be safe tonight, but he’d vowed to stick with Wilder in case he sought to guarantee your sacrifice while you were incapacitated. Your siblings--sisters, brothers, and in-laws--were all helping by teaming up with other citizens to patrol around the temple to ensure no one would try to interfere with the ritual. Your mother was hosting a night long vigil at your home, trying to ensure everyone else was occupied and distracted.
You’re still where you sit propped up in the cart you’re riding in to the temple now that you’ve been ceremonially done up. As they open the doors you would shiver if you could—the fact that you’re dressed for a spring ritual instead of a late summer one is very obvious.
Your hair is done in braids, tied up to keep it high off your neck and back leaving them exposed to the mild chill in the air. Honestly, your hair might actually look nice since, regardless of Mrs. Wilder’s other flaws, she is a talented at styling hair. The bright red paint on your lips and orange paint over the rest of your face likely spoils whatever appealing affect the hair has, no matter the gold flecks that dot your face like freckles.
A single long piece of blue fabric is wrapped around your chest, opaque, but baring your shoulders and stomach to display the yellow paint swirled over your torso, which bleeds into green at your waist. The green is broken by more blue fabric around your hips. Again, this fabric ostensibly covers your most vulnerable bits, but leaves you feeling far more exposed than you’d prefer. The only good thing about the paint is that your skin, technically, is covered.
A skirt of ribbons and a shirt of a scarf were not at all comparable to your typical outfits of a long-sleeved blouse and pants or long skirt, but they’re better than nothing. Mostly, you wish you had a jacket as they push aside the curtain and a cool breeze heralding the potential frost blows over you.
Your father gives you a smile that he clearly wants to be comforting, but is mostly a pained grimace at how ridiculous you no doubt look.
One of the Councilors, Nadine Smith, is a strong enough mage that she is able to lift you without touch and float you as if you're standing up the stairs that lead to the entrance to the temple. You appreciate she asked for your preference on how you’d liked to be moved before the paint was done because you would not have wanted to be laying down. It would feel too vulnerable. You’re also glad most of the Council is already in the temple so you can have even a few extra moments of at least partial privacy with only your father, Councilor Smith, and Mrs. Wilder. You try to appreciate the sun setting between the mountains with minimal success.
However, in less time than you’d prefer, you’re there.
You can’t control most of your body, but once inside, you meet Councilor Wilder’s gaze with your own unflinchingly. Despite all this being his idea, he still seems surprised to see you all done up in the temple. He falters for a moment, something like doubt in his eyes, before he looks away to start snapping out orders.
Tall candles are lit around it and there’s a good sized fire in a portal brazier. The additional light to see by is a double-edged sword, but the warmth is wonderful. Councilor Smith sets you down carefully on the altar before taking a seat, worn out from carrying you. That means it’s Councilor Heath, a satyr, who gives you an apologetic look as he ties your wrists down. He’d worked with your father to talk Councilor Wilder out of this to no avail so you try to convey once more that you don’t blame him for this uncomfortable and ridiculous situation.
You still have no idea why you’d need to be tied down to the altar when you're covered in the medical paint, but why would things start making sense now?
You try to keep your emotions shoved down inside, try to keep from picturing the people you know are around you, but who you can no longer see. You try not to think about how exposed you are. Instead, you focus on the words Councilor Wilder is saying, both in the ancient language and his ‘translations’. You criticize his pronunciation—even if you yourself aren’t sure how to speak the ancient words, he’s definitely not saying them right either—and his liberal, loose translation to keep yourself distracted.
Sure enough, he’s combined the spring ritual of blessing a harvest before it’s planted, with the initiation for a new priestess and then there are some lines from some sort of medical procedure—possibly the one for frostbite? But frostbite shouldn’t necessitate the use of medical paint. You try to puzzle out how he could have unintentionally mixed these together.
It works to pass the time and before you expect, the others all file out. One last gentle squeeze on your shoulder from your father and you’re alone. You give a half-hearted attempt at moving, but it's no use. You hope they tied the ropes right because if they’re too tight, you wouldn’t be able to tell.
You try to focus on breathing, on keeping calm, but it's harder than you want it to be. It’s just a waiting game, you remind yourself. But you’ve never liked being still. You like to move, you like to look around. It used to drive your mother made, the way you’d fidget and wander around as you had a conversation.
In the morning, you can get back to actually trying to figure out how to protect the harvest and your town. But there are so many hours until then, especially since you suspect you won’t be able to sleep. It’s gonna be a long night. You wistfully think about what you would do if you just stay here without the paint, without the ropes.
The light is too poor for translation work, but it would have been nice to play your fiddle or inspect the carvings on the altar more closely. Maybe you would have asked for a better lamp to at least read by.
Mostly, you just wish someone was here with you. You know why no one is, but still. It’d be nice if someone could hold your hand. If someone could talk to you. At this point, you’d even listen to your one sister’s pedantic prattling about the finer points of the tax code.
You let your mind drift.
The best would be if Tai was here. Your closest friend knows all the most compelling legends and his deep voice is made for storytelling around campfires. With his words and the flickering light from the fire still burning, you could surely pass through the night much easier. Actually, if he was here, you’d probably feel safe enough to simply sleep.
Maybe you should try to sleep as it is. It's not as though if something was to happen, you’d be able to do anything about it. You regret thinking that and switch to imagining explaining to Wilder all the flaws in his translations, his ritual, his general attitude. You try to picture his face when they all come back in the morning and you're still here because he’s an idiot.
You hope you’ll be able to turn your head in time to see his expression yourself.
You have no idea how quickly or slowly time is passing, but you cycle through thoughts on the shadowy mosaic ceiling above you, your own translation for rituals, and try to pray some of the traditional prayers in your mind on the off chance being in the temple might help them reach the benevolent god’s ears.
You’re in the middle of remembering a particularly pretty poem about the wind through the fields that had certainly felt like a prayer to you even if you don’t think it was an official one when a sound catches your attention. Instantly, all your thoughts stop. If you could get any stiller than you already were you’d do so.
The sound of movement is off to your left—opposite the entrance. Maybe a bat flew in last night? The next sound though is definitely a footstep. Your shallow breathing stops in response.
You hear a deep voice gasp your name, before a shadow hurries over to the altar. You can’t see anything but the ceiling and something about the voice is familiar, but unexpected enough you can’t place the speaker yet.
A warm hand tenderly picks up your own, long fingers stroke down your palm and over your wrist in a way that would have sent a shiver down your spine if you could. Whoever this is, no doubt, notices the way your pulse is racing.
You can only make out a flicker of movement from the corner of your eye, when the figure leans over to meet your eyes with their green ones. Your mouth falls open as far as it can, less than an inch given the state you're in, but you barely notice.
It’s Tai. You would recognize his eyes anywhere, but the rest of him…
He’s never looked like this.
His curly brown hair is loose around his face instead of tied back and it gives him a wilder look than usual. His brown skin is the same, but there are green streaks down his cheeks you’ve never seen before that mark him as not human. To be honest you’ve had your suspicions, but you thought he might be some sort of mage or dryad. The massive antlers growing out of his head though, which you’ve definitely never seen before, leave no question as to exactly who he is. You’ve seen enough reliefs around the temple to know.
Arcertillus.
He says your name again, his voice is urgent and it has a growl of anger to it that you’re only just now recognizing. It brings you back to the moment, revelations tossed aside as you really look at your friend, at the expression on his face. He’s never hidden the fact that he doesn’t understand why you or the rest of the people in town do things certain ways (or at all). He often expresses annoyance, bewilderment, and frustration when you talk about your day or your complaints. You realize now though, you’ve never seen him truly angry before.
“Who did this to you?”

word count: 7k
a/n: hello, this is my entry for Ni-ki’s concept of campus heart-throb for sunghoon! i know it took a while but here it is. I hope you guys enjoy this one and please do reblog and reply to my works. I really appreciate them and it makes me feel so inspired. Btw, have a nice day/night 🌸

“Sunghoon, wait for y/n.” young Sunghoon followed what his Mom just told him and waited patienly for you.
You were just six years old that time and he was seven but the difference of how mature you both are was very evident.
Sunghoon is naturally a quiet kid, precise, obidient and very kind. While on the other hand, you are spoiled, cheerfull and selfish type of kid. The type who wants what hers to remain hers and hers alone.
He’s friend with your older brother, Jake. The very main reason why you end up knowing him. They were classmates and eventually became playmates then sooner ended up best of friends. Sunghoon was still quiet while your brother was your kind version. Cheerful, forgiving and all smiley. They get along well despite the differences.
“I can’t walk on those, my shoes will get dirty.” you were frowning as you say those words at Sunghoon.
Seven year old Sunghoon looked over to your shoes and to the muddy road that you need to pass by before you go over this beautiful field. He sighed and turned his back at you.
“Here, hop on. I’ll carry you.” he mumbled. You pursed your lips and smiled, satisfied.
You were carefully hopping over his back when your brother arrived as he ran towards the both of you.
“Do you want me to carry her instead, Hoon?” he asked. You pouted and silently wished he won’t hand you over and thankfully he didn’t.
“It’s fine, Jake. I can handle.” he answered as he carefully started to walk with you over his back.
Your brother nodded and looked over your side, “Let me carry your doll instead so you can hold unto Hoon properly.” he offered sweetly with his warm smile.
You smiled and gave him your pretty doll. Your brother adored you so much. He’s very happy when he knew he’ll going to have a sibling and even a baby sister. From the day he started to think by himself, he oathed to protect and give you everything at all cost.
“There, no mud.” he mumbled as he put you down at a clean part. You smiled as he turned over to face you.
He isn’t smiling but you know he isn’t mad or something. It’s just the way he usually rest his face.
“Thank you, Hoon.” you said.
There, he showed a small smile flashing off those dimples of him as he gently messed your hair.
It felt nice and comforting at the same time that it started to be a thing for the two of you. He got used to messing your hair from time to time and you got used to smiling warmly at him as he do that.
The three of you were unseparable. Even when they were a grade ahead, they make sure that you will go to school and go home together with them. It was your usual routine. Your bond became stronger and their friendship as well.
With nobody noticing, you had developed something strong for Sunghoon too. Even you failed to notice it yourself.
It started to become clear to you when you reached high-school. The atmosphere during these times were a bit different. Both Jake and Sunghoon were more busy because of study and his figure skating.
“Hey y/n! You arrived earlier than us! We went to your class but your friends told us that you went here already.” you rolled your eyes, a bit annoyed at how talkative Jay was beside you.
That was Park Jongseong. Everyone calls him Jay. He’s now part of Jake and Sunghoon’s friendship. You didn’t know when exactly but you suddenly just got used to his presence and his annoying ass.
“Can you move your hand off of my shoulder? It's heavy just in case you don’t know.” you hissed at him that made him chuckle. He didn’t pull his arms off tho.
You felt someone beside you so you turned your head only to see your brother. He opened this water bottle and put a straw on it before giving you a sip.
You smiled.
“How many times do we have to tell you to wait at your classroom?” he said with a smile at you.
After taking a sip, you chuckled at him.
“You guys were taking forever to arrive and I want to see Hoon already.” you mumbled and faced the ice rink in front of you.
There he is, swiftly and elegantly doing his spins. He looked ethereal as he those things inside. Like he’s a prince and the rink was his kingdom.
“Woah, Sunghoon’s good.” the person beside you mumbled that made you turn your head towards him with a frowning face.
“Good? He’s amazing, Jay.” you corrected him.
He turned his head towards you and pursed his lips. After starring a couple of seconds through your eyes, he suddenly pinched your cheeks that made you whine.
“Ugh, that hurts! Oppa!” you quickly whined and turned over to your brother to ask for help. He was smiling while watching the two of you bicker and then furrowed his brows jokingly.
“Stop it Jay. If you pinch her cheeks so much she’ll go sulky once again.” he reminded. You pouted and remain your glaring eyes over at Jay.
“Nah, she’s always sulky anyway. Am I right, y/n?” he mocked you and grinned widely. You rolled your eyes starting to get really irritated at him.
He stretched his hand and was about to mess your hair but you quickly docked and move away from him then hide behind your brother.
“Oppa!” you called out for help. Jake chuckled and shielded you from Jay.
Jay smirked and just scoffed at how cute you became whenever you are pissed at him. Your eyes then darted back to the rink when your brother’s head snapped over to it.
“Dude!” he greeted Sunghoon’s who’s now skating towards your direction.
His face was like the usual, blank as his eyes darted at you. With a smile you waved cheerfully at him and you even heard Jay scoffed at how fast you changed your expressions when it’s Sunghoon you are talking to. You ignored it and your kept your attention fully focused at the guy in front of you, cheeks were lightly red because of cold.
You leaned closer to the railings that were between the two of you, he carefully skates closer, his eyes were darted right at you.
“You look so cold.” you pouted cutely both hands rested over at the cold metal railings and you put your chin above your hands.
“You too.” he answered and gave your nose a light bop as he looked at it because it was slowly getting red. You’re a bit sensitive with cold so it clearly shows on your face right away.
You pursed your lips and face started to burn because of his sudden action. He was never shy to do that, something he already got used to. As Jake and Jay slowly talked about something else, you two also drifted to your own world. Like as if every other person and thing around you disappeared and all you can see is him.
“When are you gonna finish?” you asked, curious. Sunghoon rested one of his hand over his waist while the other one rested at the railing just beside your hands.
He tilted his head over to the side before he turned his head over to his coach who’s busy talking to some other trainees who were younger than him and he glanced back at you.
“I don’t know. Maybe two more rounds? Why? You bored already?” he asked and a small smirk appeared over his face.
You quickly shake your head in disagreement. You were never bored whenever you watch him. Even if he do the same routine all over again and again, you will never get tired watching him. You think skating and Sunghoon fits perfectly and he really shines whenever he’s at the rink.
“Nope. I was just asking.” you said and he just gave you a small nod before being called by his coach.
You looked at his coach and smiled sweetly at him after a small wave. You were a bit close to him already, with all the times you hangs out here whenever Hoon’s here just leads you to actually be close and familiar to his own coach.
“You should go there now.” as you glance over to Sunghoon you were greeted by his eyes as they were darted over you.
His stares remain for a couple of seconds before he licked his lower lip and bit his lower lip before he nod his head lightly. “Alright, see you later.” he mumbled before he started skating away.
You got this small smile plastered over your face as you watch him resume to his practice. While busy watching, you can’t help but to hear what Jake and Jay was talking about as they were just standing beside you.
“I saw her at the admin office. She’s pretty tho?” Jay said and walked closer to you before he leaned over the railings too. His attention was still at Jake but he was standing close to you.
“Really? Do you think she will be in our class?” your brother asked curiously.
“I don’t know? I hope so.” you heard Jay answered lastly before he resumed pestering you the whole time you guys waited for Sunghoon’s practice to be finished.
After the practice, you guys walked home together after stopping by at some ice cream parlor. You were at the middle of Jake and Sunghoon and Jay was standing beside Hoon. Miraculously your houses were just on the same street so going to school and going home is really fun because you walk with them.
“I heard some guys from your class likes you, y/n?” your eyes lifted from your ice cream over to your brother. Your brows were furrowed and you fail to notice the two other guys beside you starring as well.
“Huh?”
“The guys from your class... a lot of them show interest.” Jake even smirked.
You pouted, thoughts a bit clouded by those boys from your class who tried to hint that they like you. Some were fine but ever before your mind can process it, Sunghoon’s face popped inside your mind.
“Huh? I guess they like sulky girls huh?” your head snapped over to your side when you heard Jay say that. Already ready to fight him but your eyes caught Sunghoon’s serious ones that were darted at you.
You were a bit startled and left dumbfounded, after a gulp, you looked away and resumed focusing over your ice cream, “I don’t care about them. Who told you? Sunoo? Jungwon?” you asked your brother mentioning some of their friends that was on your class.
Jake smiled and just shrugged his shoulders off. You rolled your eyes and silently plotted to murder those two tomorrow when you see them at the school. When you guys arrived at your house, you pouted a bit sad that you have to already part with him. Slowly you turned over at Hoon and Jay.
“See you tomorrow.” you said referring to Sunghoon. He nodded his head and Jay smirked beside him.
“See you tomorrow sulky!” he said teasingly.
Your face changed and rolled his eyes at him before you marched inside the house. You heard your brother saying some things at them before he comes after you.
Tumblr media
“They’re at the school field! Let’s go guys.” you sounded so excited as you try to tugged over at Jungwon’s arm while he’s busy talking to one of your girl classmates. Some of them starred at you with envy in their eyes.
You didn’t give much attention to it and just raised your brow at them before continuing on pulling Jungwon’s arm. He’s giving you a hard time since he’s making you drag him. Sunoo was already by the door, waiting for the two of you.
“You don’t have to drag me, you realize that y/n, right?” Jungwon was smirking while he say that and it just made you roll your eyes.
“Whatever, you’re leaving me with no choice.” you said and cling your other arm over to Sunoo when you arrived beside him.
The three of you started walking over the hallways and some eyes quickly darted over at your direction probably because of them. Girl’s eyes were starring hardly and probably envying you for having the privilege of being this close to them. Perks of being Jaeyun’s sister huh.
“y/n!” you smiled widely over at Heeseung when he saw you and wave his hand at you. They were at the bleachers by the school field and the three of you approaches them. Everybody else turned their heads at your direction.
“Hello Heeseung oppa!” you greeted him back and gave him a high-five and you can feel your brother’s eyes watching your every move carefully.
I smiled and walked straight to where my brother is sitting. I smiled sweetly at him before dropping a swift kiss at his cheeks as a greeting to him but his expressions didn’t even changed. He remained serious.
“I heard you got disciplinary again today, y/n.”  he said in a serious tone. Everybody always say that your brother is always nice and caring for you. You do agree but he's very strict to you when it comes to this matters.
You quickly shoot glares towards Jungwon who purposely avoided your eyes. Jake cupped your cheeks and made you turn your head towards him.
“Stop glaring over Jungwon. What did you do again?” he asked.
Jay laughed as he watched your brother and you. You pouted trying to earn sympathy from him, “The girl from my class was trying to say that she likes--”
Jake didn’t even let you finish as he lets out a loud sigh, n “Not this reason again, y/n. Mom’s gonna scold you once she knew about this.”
“Please don’t tell Mom.” you told your brother with a pleading eyes.
Jake’s stares remained at you as he tried hard to resist you but then at the end, he just failed as he sighed heavily and just nodded his head. You smiled sweetly and hugged him.
You then darted your eyes over to the person just beside him. Unlike the others, he wasn’t loud and just silently reading this book, all attention focused at it. You pouted and smirked before you went and sat at the vacant space beside him. He didn’t reacted even if you kept your stares at him.
The other boys then started talking about other stuff but you didn’t mind them anymore. All of your attention was just focused at Sunghoon once again.
“What are you reading?” you asked trying to catch his attention and to get him to talk.
He glanced at you once before he raised the book he was holding so you can read the title yourself. Your eyes darted at it and didn’t really care much about it before you pouted your lips.
“Why are you being such a snob today, huh?” you asked sliding one of your arms over his firm ones. You smirked enjoying that he didn’t even refused your affection.
“y/n, skirt.” your attention diverted over to your brother when he strictly said that. You didn’t even realized that your skirt moves up because of the way you were sitting.
You were about to fix it when a coat covered it and a smile spread across your face when you saw his fair white arms flexed a bit as he fixed his coat over at your slightly exposed thighs. His eyes bore at you seriously as you remain smiling sweetly at him.
“You just never learn, hm?” he murmured seriously and you just feel butterflies went crazy inside your stomach.
You chuckled and just decided to stop bothering him anymore. That's enough for you. He acknowledged your presence and already gave you even a bit of his attention. You’re now focused over the boys who's busy talking at some stupid stuff.
“Jungwon hyung! One of my classmate likes you. She said that if I showed her a picture of you sleeping, she will buy me  five banana milk.” Ni-ki said and the other boys turned their heads over at his direction.
“You didn’t, right?” Jungwon.
Ni-ki smirked before he pulled something out from his bag. You let out a laugh when you saw a bunch of banana milks. Couple barks of laughter invaded your space as Jungwon tried to head-locked Ni-ki.
That day ended like how it usually does, you four walked home together with Jay pestering you, Jake lowkey enjoying it and Sunghoon watching silently with a small smirk over his lips.
The next day at school was pretty normal. Sunoo and Jungwon were around you most of the times since they’re the ones you are close to. Jungwon’s also your desk-mate so he basically pester you all day.
“Do you think this looks good?” Sunoo was occupying the sit in front of you and he stretched his hand over at you to show his phone and a cute shirt was currently presented.
“Yeah,” you answered with a smile. Jungwon was just silently watching the two of you as he unconsciously plays with your hair.
“Did you heard?” some of the girls in your class came rushing towards your classmate just a desk away. You three turned your heads over them because they were loud but the two quickly resumed to what they were doing.
“Sunghoon sunbaenim likes (name)!” your head snapped over to them once again when you heard Sunghoon’s name.
Sunoo and Jungwon did the same thing and they looked at each other before they turned towards you. Your brows were furrowed as your eyes remain looking at the chatting girls.
You were left silent and don’t know what exactly to feel. You don’t know because you’re pretty sure Sunghoon have no idea of what you feel towards him when everybody else probably knew already. You felt your heart aching and your mind being clouded by a lot of thoughts.
“Hey, you okay?” Jungwon looked bothered as he furrowed his brows worriedly, looking at you.
You nod your head once before smiling a little and diverted your attention back to the magazine you were reading before the interruption. You tried acting like the same but your thoughts were wondering over to what you just heard. Sunghoon? And that new transferee student? She just moved here two weeks ago and this is already happening? You hated it so much.
You saw her, she is pretty. You cannot deny that and that just makes you nervous and anxious even more. The possibility of Sunghoon actually liking her is big and you hated it so much.
After the class, you wasted no time but to go at their building and waited in front of their room. The first one to come out was your brother and Jay. Sunghoon was nowhere to be seen.
“Hey, y/n!” Jay called you all-smiled and approached right away. He wrapped his arms around your shoulder and you glared at him. He attempted to mess your hair but you stopped his hand.
Jake chuckled as he walk closer to the two of you, n “Dude, I told you. Sunghoon’s the only one allowed to do that.” he said and Jay turned his head towards your brother.
“Huh?”
“Its somewhat an unwritten rule, Sunghoon’s the only one who can mess and pat her head like that.” Jake said and even shrugged his shoulders off with a smile.
“Even you can’t do that?” Jay asked amused.
Jake shrugged his shoulders off, “I pinched her nose as an affection to her. I don’t usually mess her hair.” he answered and greeted those students who greets him as they walk pass by.
You bit your lip, “W-Where’s Hoon?” you asked. They both look at you at the same time.
“Oh, inside. He’s talking with (name).” Jay said and even pulled you towards the classroom door.
There he is, your Sunghoon talking to (name). Your heart ache at the sight of his smiling face. Did he ever do that in front of you? This is actually the first time you had seen those smiles, bright and excited to the point that you can almost see his fangs peeking.
“Yah, lover boy! We need to go.” Jay shouted to catch their attention.
Both of them snapped their heads towards your direction and smiles can still be seen over their faces. Your expression remained blank as you stare at the two of them, you didn’t even bothered smiling at her nor to Sunghoon, you just wanted to get out of there.
“Coming,” Sunghoon said and his eyes looked at you for a while before he turned his attention to (name) once again.
You were stunned and hurt at how fast he turned his attention back over to (name). He didn’t even greeted you when your eyes met, like as if he didn’t know you since you two were kids.
He smiled as he bid goodbye’s and walk towards you. Trying to shrug everything off, you smiled at him. “Hi, Hoon.” and you waved at him.
He glanced at you, “Hello,” he greeted and your smile fell when he walked pass you without messing or even patting your head. You were stoned but still you try to act normal. He went straight towards your brother and started talking about something you can’t process as of the moment.
Jay noticed how you change your mood and decided to try and make you feel better by pestering you. Thankfully, it did. You cannot deny that even if he’s annoying most of the times, you found comfort when he’s there beside you.
That routine continued, like as if suddenly a big wall had grew between you and Sunghoon. He barely talks to you anymore, he’s mostly busy with his phone or with (name). You hated it but then you cannot complain about it. You felt so bad and hurt and its starting to get the best of you.
“Tomorrow you’ll go in the rink with y/n, right?” suddenly your brother brings up the planned ice skating with Sunghoon.
It was lunch during that time and tomorrow you guys have no class. Sunghoon had promised you he will go to the rink with you before and so your brother remembered and brought it up. He glanced over at you for a while before he nodded.
You felt your heart raced after knowing you two will finally spend some time together. You are more than thrilled, its been weeks already since the two of you had a proper talk and you kind of feel bad already because it feels like you two were slipping away from each other.
“y/n.” your head snapped over to Sunghoon when he called you even before you can walk towards your building.
With a smile you approached closer, “Hm?”
He sighed and glanced away, “About tomorrow, you won’t mind if I bring (name) with us right? She said she wanted to try ice skating.” he directly told you.
Your smile fell the moment you hear what he said. You looked like a fool for actually thinking he will spend time with you alone. At this time he isn’t the Sunghoon you’ve known.
You wanted so bad to say no but your stupid self had nodded your head. He didn’t even smile and just mumbled a small thanks before he walked away.

The day you expected to be a good day turned out to be the worst day so far in your life. You hated how you have to be with them like a third wheel. Sunghoon was clearly having the best time of his life while you’re here, sad and hurt with all the things happening.
Your brows furrowed when you saw her approaching with a tray of desserts at her hands.
“Here you go, Hoonie!” she cheerfully said as she handed this cup of dessert with mangoes all over it.
You frowned as you saw Hoon’s smile faltered for a while but he tried keeping his smile.
“Actually--” you tried butting in but then Sunghoon stopped you.
“Thank you, (name). Let me help you.” he said and glanced at you with a warning look at his eyes.
You rolled your eyes and just kept silent. When you guys are already at the ice rink, you hated it even more. Since you already know how to skate, Sunghoon don’t have to worry about you anymore and all his attention is now at (name). They’re like a cute couple in a kdrama and you hated the sight so much.
You sighed heavily trying so hard to push back the tears that were attempting to fall out of your eyes.
“That’s right! You’re doing great, (name).” he cheered as you saw her skate pathetically.
You rolled your eyes and just stood there. Unexpectedly, Hoon’s coach was there and called him out for a while and left (name) under your care. She was nice so you don’t really plan to act all rude to her not until she raised a brow at you the moment Sunghoon left.
“y/n, right?” she said, her aura completely changed like as if she was a different person.
You didn’t answer but remained looking at her, n “I can see you like Sunghoon very much.” she said and even scoffed at you.
“Too bad he didn’t like you, right?” she said in a mocking tone.
You kept silent and was about to skate away but then she talk once again, “Actually, I like Jay first but then he seems to not show any interest in me. Sunghoon seems easy, so I just settled to him. He ain’t that bad anyway.” she said.
You were frozen to your position after what you’ve heard. She was about to talk again but you turn around and pushed her off out of anger.
“Y/n! What are you doing?” Suddenly, Sunghoon was in front of her, ready to help her up.
(name) was back to her nice girl forte and she grunted. n “Don’t shout at y/n, Sunghoon. Maybe she just got mad because I joined you guys today when it supposed to be just you too.” she said and you just cannot believe what she just said.
Sunghoon clenched his jaw and furrowed his brows hardly. He turned towards you and you can’t help but to fear him because this is actually the first time you saw him mad.
“That’s not true! She said--” Sunghoon approached you and stood tall in front of you. It intimidated you.
“Why are you doing this, y/n?” he asked, his voice low and almost sound like a beg. It confused you for some reasons and it caught you off-guard.
“I think she hates me because I like you, Hoon.” (name) once again butted in.
You didn’t even spare her a look and your eyes just remained at Sunghoon’s eyes. They were oddly looked very mad and sad?
“You can’t do that. You’re just my bestfriend’s sister.” he said straight at your face.
Your eyes watered at what he said. You don’t actually expected him to like you back but for him to say this? It freaking hurts. A tear fell from your eyes as you skated away a little from him. Guilt quickly can be seen through his eyes but it was too late because tears were already flowing nonstop.
“Who are you? You’re not the Sunghoon I fell in love with,” you muttered in a small voice and his eyes grew a bit big.
He gulped and was about to talk but then you turned around skated away. You took off the gloves and ice skating shoes before you rushed out of there.
“Y/n? Sunghoon said he will go inside and-- Are you crying?” your eyes grew big when you saw Jay outside of the skating rink.
He furrowed his brows and walked closer to you.
“P-Please take me home,” you pleaded and even though Jay wanted to ask more, he just nodded his head and took you home without saying a word.
You spend that night crying and even cried yourself to sleep. The next day, you barely went out of your room. Your brother was worried but like Jay he doesn’t want to ask anything unless you wanted to talk about it.
You wanted to avoid Sunghoon for a long time but then you got invited to their house the next day because it was his sister’s birthday. Your family was there and so is some of his friends. The whole time you were there, you can feel Sunghoon’s stare darted at you.
You tried ignoring it and act normal around your friends.
“Here, water.” Jay handed you a glass of water and sat beside you.
You smiled at him and he acted surprise, “Did you just smiled at me?” he exaggerated it that it made you chuckle.
“Do you prefer me glaring?” you asked raising a brow at him. He smirked then pinched your cheeks.
“Nah, you look pretty when you smile.” you blushed after hearing it and you failed to notice Sunghoon eyeing the two of you seriously, his hold over the glass of water he was about to give you went tighter.
Your parents soon bid goodbye since you guys need to go somewhere. You were about to go but stopped by someone, when you turned to check who it was, it was Sunghoon.
“Y/n, can we talk?” he asked and you just gave him a nod before gently pulling your arms away from his hold.
“U-Uhm,” he gulped, it was obvious that he was nervous.
“I’m sorry for what happened in the rink. I didn’t--”
“It’s okay, you don’t have to worry so much about it.” his eyes darted at your cold ones, trying to find the familiar warmth it usually shows but they weren’t there. It was plain cold and blank.
“No, its not okay. I didn’t mean it that way. Can we just forget about what happened and go back to normal?”
Forget about it like as if your heart didn’t broke into pieces? Well okay.
“Sure, okay. Don’t worry about it.” you said and smiled but it isn’t like how you used to smile at him before.
He was about to say something again but your Mom called you, n “Y/n, sweetie we need to go!” she said.
You nodded your head at her before you turned towards Hoon, n “See you around.” you said and started walking away without turning to back at him.
Sunghoon doesn’t know if he should be happy that you forgave him or he should be worry because of the way you just looked at him moments ago. The way your eyes were blank and lifeless bothered him so much and he knows he’s at fault.
“y/n! Hurry up, we’re gonna be late for school!” you heard your brother, Jake shouted from outside of your room and you can’t help but to let out a groan and hurried yourself out.
“What do you mean late? It’s still early.” you complained and his eyes looked at you from head to toe. You furrowed your brows in wonder why is he looking at you that way.
“Why, oppa?” you asked.
“Did you got a haircut?” he asked tilting his head over to the side. He’s sure something changed in you but he just can’t pinpoint where.
“Huh? No. What are you saying?” and you started going downstairs. Your brother followed behind you.
“You sure? You look pretty today.” he said. You stopped walking and turned around to face him.
“Today? Only today?” you asked him sarcastically.
He stopped from his tracks as well.
“You’re always pretty but today you’re extra pretty.” he corrected himself.
You shrugged your shoulders off, “Thank you, I guess?” you said and he smiled before pinching your nose then started walking outside of your house.
You followed behind him since he said that the two were already waiting for the both of you. Your mood fell, just by thinking that you have to face Sunghoon again makes you sad and hurt. The thing that happened to the rink automatically flashed back to you. Its just sad because the rink used to be a happy place for you, its funny how just because of one memory, everything changed.
When you made it outside, Jay waved right away and you rolled your eyes at him playfully. He just chuckled and went to you to wrap his arms around your shoulder. Your eyes then trailed over to Sunghoon and he was already looking.
You gave him a small smile, “Morning,” you greeted just for him not to think that you are treating him differently.
He smiled, you can see relief over his eyes and as he raised his hand to mess your hair you held his arm to stop him. Jay and Jake was surprise and so is Sunghoon.
“I d-did my hair today so n-no.” you reasoned out and smiled awkwardly before you started walking. Jay followed you because he got his arms around you.
Jake looked over to Sunghoon and his arms were still left in mid-air, still dumbfounded to what happened.
“Don’t mind it dude. Maybe she just really don’t want her hair to be messed up. Let’s go.” And Jake slid his arms around his shoulders and pull him so he can start walking.
Sunghoon nods his head and walked behind you. He did nod his head but still it bothers him so bad. You cannot lie just like that to him. In the entire time he knew you, you’ve never rejected him like that before.
You tried hard to go on with your day normally and trying hard to push Sunghoon away from your mind. It was difficult of course as he is the one who’s always occupying your thoughts. But this time, you are determined.
On the other hand, Sunghoon was not in his right senses. He couldn’t think straight, he couldn’t participate at class properly and couldn’t even process a thing the teacher were saying. All he can think about was you and nothing else.
After their first subject, it was their vacant and they decided to just stay inside their room. Jake was chatting with some of their friends as Sunghoon remained silent. He’s not really in the mood to talk.
“Where did you go?” Sunghoon head snapped over to the side when Jake suddenly talked. It was Jay and it seems like he came from somewhere.
“With y/n. She texted me and asked if I can go with her at the library because she needs to borrow a book.” Jay said. Sunghoon furrowed his brows at what he heard. He never knew you two are that close to each other.
“Oh, okay.” Jake shrugged it off like its just a normal thing.
“Speaking of which, are you and y/n dating Jay? Because we noticed how you two became close lately.”  one of their friends said and Sunghoon glanced away as he clenched his jaw then his fist. Something inside him is starting to flair up and he didn’t like this emotion.
“Nah, we’re not dating. We just became close.” Jay said proudly.
They nodded, “Is it okay with you Jake?” now the question is diverted over to Jake. He turned his head, curious.
“What do you mean?” he asked confused.
“If ever one of your friends likes your sister?”
Sunghoon’s eyes darted over to Jake looking a bit hopeful. He watch as Jake pursed his lips and nodded his head.
“Yeah, of course. As long as they won’t hurt and make her cry.” he said and some of them cheered for unknown reasons.
Sunghoon was dumbfounded for a while before he decided to talk and interrupt the cheering crowd.
“Wait, but you said before that you won’t allow it?” he said, brows hardly furrowed.
Jake looked confused for a while, “Huh?” he seemed to be really clueless.
Sunghoon clenched his jaw, getting a bit impatient. “When I asked you that before, you answered that you won’t allow it and it will cost your friendship.”
It took Jake seconds before he actually remembers it. “I was joking, dude! Of course its still up to my sister.” he said and Sunghoon was out of words. Did he actually heard that from him?
They were laughing but Sunghoon remained serious and dumbfounded. When Jake noticed he then realized what’s going on and his smile fell.
“Oh shit...?” he said and their friends stopped laughing as well as they eyed Sunghoon.
Sunghoon sighed and closed his eyes as he rest his back over the backrest of his chair.
“I fucking messed up, dude.” he mumbled and there they suddenly figured out Sunghoon’s true feelings for you.

“Where are we going?” you hissed at your brother when he suddenly pulled you somewhere and blind folded you. It was so sudden that you are so worried.
“Shh, just shut your mouth okay?” he said and you pouted because you don’t like the fact that he just shut you up.
“I asked you where are we going?” you asked again but then you were answered by the same thing. He leaded you towards somewhere and you had no choice but to follow him.
He sat you somewhere and your heart races as a familiar smell and cold breeze blew unto you. “Oppa?” you called out your brother and when you felt him changing your shoes, you were dumbfounded. You knew where you guys are and you badly want to tell him to take you away from here.
But at the same time, you wanted to stay. Reminisce with the times you cherished in this place. You sniffed, eyes already a bit teary as he guided you inside the cold rink. He placed you somewhere but surely inside and with a soft whisper he asked you to take off your blindfold before he skates away.
You did and you squinted your eyes waiting for it to get adjusted with the light around. The place was vacant maybe because it was already kind of late, with a slow phase you turn around and suddenly lights lighted up.
You pouted as you suddenly realized that words were spelled by those lights that were obviously arranged. It said, ‘I’m Sorry.’ Even without asking who it was, with the location where you are right now, you already know.
You suddenly felt some presence from behind you so you look behind and there he is. Park Sunghoon, wearing his usual cool face while both of his hands were behind him.
You looked at him, waiting of what’s he gonna do next.
“I decided to make it right where it all started.” he said and sighed. He looked nervous and cute at the same time.
He skates closer and suddenly pulled out a bouquet of roses then gulped as he raise his eyes from it up to you.
“I’m sorry if I said mean things that day. I was dumb for letting my emotions take over. I should’ve known better.” he explained and you furrowed your brows because you don’t get it.
He licked his lower lip, “When my coach called me out that day, I saw Jay arriving. He said you texted him to come that day.” he added.
Your mouth opened in realization. You did sent a text to Jay that day but you didn’t really expect him to come since you knew he was busy somewhere.
“I got jealous even though I know I have no rights to.” he said.
“I have feelings for you too, y/n. You don’t know how you make my heart races whenever you smile at me and stare at me with those pretty eyes.” he started and you were caught off guard.
“I asked your brother if what will he feel if ever one of his friends had feelings for you. He said he wouldn’t allow it and will cost their friendship. You knew how much he means to me as he is my best friend and the only person who tried to be friends with me back when we were kids. I, then convinced myself that maybe I should just settle to being friends with you because I also don’t know if you like me as well.” he said and skates even close.
“I tried really hard. But as I tried hard to avoid you, the harder I fall for you even more. When I knew about your feelings that day, I went crazy, y/n. It didn’t let me sleep and even came to the point that I didn’t care about my friendship with your brother.” he sighed and looked at your eyes sincerely.
“I love you so much, y/n. Please forgive me and give me a chance.” he said.
A tear fell from your eyes as you carefully accepted the flower, “Forgiven.” you said and he let out a sigh of relief before he skates closer to you and hugged you tightly.
He dropped a kiss at your forehead before he went back to hug you even tighter.
“Let’s forget and replace that bad memory here, okay?” he said.
You shake your head no and pull away from the hug, “I don’t want to. It’s part of us now, Sunghoon. It even became the reason why we ended here.”
He licked his lips and smirked at you, fangs showing. His eyes went down over to your lips and he slowly leaned down, lips inches away you suddenly remembered something.
“What happened to (name)?” you asked, eyebrow raising at him.
He rolled his eyes before dropping a peck at your lips, n “Way to ruin the moment, y/n.” he said.
“I’m curious.”
“I told her that same day that you’re the one I’m in love with.” he dead-ass said and snaked his arms over at your waist.
