obi wan on a mission that he didn't want to go on in the first place to rescue the child of two people notorious for being sassy and not following his advice while being hunted by 80% of the population of any planet he's on:
Okay I'm gonna say it right now before it gets out of hand: I will be reblogging every image I see of Ewan and Hayden for this entire press tour because this will never fucking happen again
I really wanted Cal Kestis to just, happen to be at the fortress, and pass Obi Wan, Tala, and Leia, vaguely recognize them, move on, go back to the Mantis, and then wake up in the middle of the night and realize *Ewan McGregor voice* “That’s fucking Obi Wan Kenobi”
Despite all they went through, Obi-Wan sees only the best of Anakin in Leia. There is no pain, anger or pent-up sorrow he onerously puts on her shoulder or remotely projects his fractious relationship with Anakin onto Leia. Every adult in the lives of the Skywalker twins ensured that they would never have to grow up in the shadow of what their father became nor have to pay the penance for his crimes. And this love is what made the twins what they were in the end - A New Hope.
The duel between Vader and Obi was fantastic. All the emotions, symbolism, and pure show of their strength in wielding the force was chef's kiss. At the end where Hayden's and James's voices mixing together to create those haunting roars of "OBI WAN" is absolutely phenomenal
I love how we get to see leia's childhood, and that obi wan was part of it, but even more than that I love how we get to see that leia organa has always been a witty, defiant, strong-willed, intelligent, hilarious badass that will take absolutely no one's shit
I also love that obi wan realizes that, "oh my god, there's another one" almost immediately when the 10 year old child he's in charge of rescuing from kidnappers doesn't hesitate to punch him in the stomach and question his authority less than thirty seconds after meeting him for the first time
I hate the Star Wars fandom. I’ve hated it since the prequels first started coming out. They were so racist to John Boyega that it’s ridiculous. Now they’re doing the same thing to Moses Ingram. Her insta story last night?? Funny cuz of the song choice but heartbreaking. I’m glad that she’s seeing the support she’s getting cuz no one deserves that. Also, only 2 episodes of Obi-Wan have aired and yet it’s “I don’t like her character.” For why? You can’t possibly get to know her when only 2 episodes have been aired and probably the most we’ve seen her do is off ppl. Y’all are tripping being so overly critical of her already. You do this all the time and it is not acceptable. At all.
Here’s the screen recording I took of part of Moses’ story. This is so stupid and I pray she continues to thrives.
