bob vylan - my favourite hardcore band rn. i love their name, i love their music, i love their whole vibe, and if youre black i doubly recommend them

jer - this is a tiktok mutual who runs a ska project called skatune network! they dont have a full album out (yet!!) but im obsessed with r/edgelord

catbite - this is a band patrick was recommended on the in defense of ska podcast, but i actually heard about them through jer.

we are the union - jers in this band! recently gave them a listen (finally) and i love what ive heard! these are my only ska recs i think

destroy boys - i found them on bandcamp and i think they bop hard

the regrettes - a little less hardcore, but still a fave! a living human girl is a really great song

nova twins - love their stuff so far, need to give their album a listen from cover to cover but i LOVE play fair

Alignment: What would be their D&D alignment? How might it come into play?

True Neutral!! She’s neither a good person or a bad person, she doesn’t seek to follow the rules nor does she seek to break them. I guess it comes into play whenever she’s willing to discuss any possible solution to a problem, even things good alignet characters would disregard. But she never purposefully would pick the worst solution either. She’s just generally a very grey character.

Beverage: What do they most like to drink, and why?

Champagne (let’s pretend that exists in Tir Ná Lia) & Wine! But she adds water to it, she always wants to have a clear head.

Co-Habitat: Do they live with anyone? What’s “need to know” before moving in?

She lives together with Avallac’h! “Need to know” before moving into her home is that some of her pets are poisions or just downright dangerous, so don’t pet any unless she gave you her ok. Other than that there is not much you need to know! If she loves you she wants to share anything with you, so absolutly just make yourself comfortable. But respect that she likes things her way, so, there’s also that.

Decor: What kind of home do they keep? Are there any defining details?

She has a Mansion in Tir Ná Lia that’s definetly too big for her and Avallac’h lmao (It used to be hers alone for a long, long time). It’s surrounded by a giant garden with several pools, fountains, pavilions and bridges and her Tigers, Crocodiles and Peacocks live there (among other things). You walk several hundrets of stairs up to her main entrance. The Mansion is made out of white marble, on engraved on the floor you can follow an elder blood family tree that goes through all rooms of the estate. It also has high ceilings, spiral stairs (The style is all very elven, obviously), high windows and several balconies. Ivory and other plants grow inside of the mansion, like on the handrails. A lot of the walls have also been painted by Avallac’h. The entire basement are laboratories.

Escape: What do they do to de-stress? How successful is it?

Deithwen rarely feels the need to de-stress, because she’s rather the type to get energized by any kind of work. If someone close to her sits her down and tells her to relax for a bit then she likes to read (science books lmao), hang with her 45435 exotic animals, go places with her bf, and have sex.

Fluff: What hits their soft spot? Does anything turn them into emotional goo?

She secretly thinks she’s a bad person. Anyone who tells her that they think otherwise hits her soft spot perfectly. (ESPECIALLY if Deithwen values them very highly) :’/

Grudge: How bad does an insult go over? Do they hold a grudge long?

BADLY. Especially if the situation is emotionally charged she has a tendency to sting you. She can also hold a grudge forever without you ever knowing about it until it’s too late and you only realize because she stabs you in the back. :/ HOWEVER if whatever happened wasn’t bad enough for her to lose her trust on you, or she was never close to you in the first place, she doesn’t care about any grudges really. Girl has things to do.

Hobby: What’s something they do for fun that might be surprising?

Besides of cuddling her pet tiger and fucking yes witcher elves are weird and apparently not very horny and the stuff I already mentioned.... She does like to write, a journal or sometimes even fiction or poetry that she doesn’t share with anyone. She also indulges in philosophy and is downright fascinated by elven/human/etc. behaviour.

Insomnia: What’s their sleeping schedule like? Snorer? Sound sleeper?

She doesn’t sleep much and sometimes she talks! If she has trouble sleeping, she likes to have soft harp music in the background.

Jaded: Do they buy into the “happily ever after” ideal? What’s their standard?

Honestly? She doesn’t care.

Kin: What’s their role among their relations? Do they consider others family?

Yes!!! Family is low-key really important to her!! She’s an older sister, the firstborn in the family, a wife, an aunt, a sister in law, a mother!!

Law: What do they think about abiding rules? Are they selective about it?

Only if necessary, if she can bend them she’ll do it, if she can find loopholes, the better.

Magic: In a magic series or not, are they accepting, or is each instance a shock?

She’s an extrovert and a leader type!! She has absolutly no problem reaching out to people and always had a natural charm to her and can be very inspiring!! She did had to learn over a long period of time how to hold her influence over people though, she used to disregard the fact that people are just people with needs for very long.

Offspring: What kind of parent would they be? Would they prefer one, or multiple?

Post TW3 she actually gets a daughter called Elaine!! :‘) She a very demanding mum with high standards and always has to remember that she needs to have more emotional tact with her kid than she has with other people. But she ultimatly takes her role as a mum very seriously and loves Elaine more than anything. If getting pregnat wouldn’t be so hard as an elf, she would have more than one child.

Pistol: Is this character skilled with a weapon? What’s their opinion of violence?

She has gathered some basic skills with the sword and with daggers over the years, but that has never really been her vibe. She is ultimatly most dangerous using magic. And she doesn’t believe in unecessary violence but she doesn’t shrink from it with the situation demands it (she prefers to be a type of commander though).

Question: How often do they feel doubt? What topics are they defensive about?

Not often she’s so self confident and head strong. She can be very defensive and absolutly pissed if her authority is questioned or challenged.

Reminder: How are they at remembering daily needs? What falls through the cracks?

If it comes to work she doesn’t forget shit. She’s more forgetful with anything that’s not about work, but then again she likes to plan everything and make notes and all that, so things fall rarely through the cracks.

Sing: Do they like music? Do they listen often/sing/hum/play songs in their head?

She does like music! Especially played by her bf or her sister. She used to have music lessons when she was a kid but she doesn’t really play anything anymore. Her singing voice sounds unused, but she is talented.

She has a huge list of acquaintances and connections in relation to her work. She wouldn’t call any of them her friends, but she does know a lot of people and hangs with a lot of them from time to time, especially at banquetts and balls and things like that. She has a handful of real friends.

She thinks ahead all the time and prefers to make long term plans!! Can be about work or her personal life. She's able to change directions if an unexpected problem accurs but she always has a goal in mind.

She had to learn patience for almost half her current lifetime, she made a lot of stupid mistakes because she was too rash, disregarding people who need to think longer than her.

Joger ask: how would they cope with Roger having a crisis about the fact that John has written hit singles including their biggest ever hit and he has yet to pop his a-aide cherry? Is he rubbish? Is he really just a pretty face? He knows he brings lots of musical input & the sonic volcano & ‘the girl for everything’ for the band but really, who is he kidding? And John can’t deny that he aced his degree or does the finances or wrote hits... Thankfully Radio Gaga comes along and all ends well...

hmmmm ok. this got? long. very ramble-y. apologies

so like. roger is so fucking proud of john y’know???? and it’s not john’s songs being more successful than his which is cutting deep (because, well, commercial success is somewhat ehh to roger now that they’ve already made it big. the music he’s writing and creating, off on the side, is more about the music than anything else), it’s that he didn’t see it coming

100% did not see aobtd being a hit. hated recording it with his drums taped up, and thought the whole thing was a waste of time which.... it obviously wasn’t because john’s latest royalty cheque was big enough to have even freddie blinking in surprise

and. well. roger’s kind of always been the one with his finger on the pulse, so to speak. roger was riding the early waves of punk before the sex pistols had so much as looked at a safety pin and thought, “hmm, i wonder”. and his ability to keep up with, stay just one step ahead, of the trends has been invaluable in the past and now.... he might be slipping behind?

because even though he fucking hated half of the lines in ymbf he... he knew it was going to be a hit in the US. that sort of soft poppy feel, with a funky little bassline? the american’s eat that shit up in spades. of course it was going to be popular.

but, yeah, he didn’t see aobtd being a hit and now he’s starting to wonder if maybe the reason he isn’t writing hits isn’t because he hasn’t been trying to appeal to the broader audience, hasn’t been trying to write songs that will get massive air time or be played in clubs, but because he’s got no fucking clue about what people want anymore

‘girl for everything.......... except knowing what people want’ doesn’t, uh, sound as good

and it’s not? it’s not a Big Deal, not really. he just gets a little quieter about voicing his opinions on tracks because, well, maybe he doesn’t actually know what the fuck he’s talking about?

and so, hot space

brian’s losing his gd mind arguing with everyone and everything because he feels backed into a corner, freddie isn’t playing the peacekeeping role he usually does, john is being Just a Little Bit of an egotistic shit, and roger is........... not getting involved. which works kind of awfully because both brian and john take his silence as tacit approval of their position, which boils over into a lot of misunderstandings about just what it is roger thinks about what’s going on in the studio

(and mostly what roger thinks about what’s going on in the studio is that this album is going to be a Fucking Disaster because instead of ripping apart one anothers songs and building them back up stronger all they’re doing is ripping into one another and calling it creative differences)

and he tosses up a couple of songs and lets them do what they will with them (and oh my god if you haven’t listened to action this day performed live???? do urself a favour and do it oh my god i fucking hated that song until i listened to it live) because well. they probably know better than he does at the moment, because he doesn’t quite trust himself. and tensions are high enough that inserting himself into the cockfight when he isn’t actually Sure about his opinions just seems an unnecessary risk.

and. uh. hot space...................................................... does as it does

and john is pretty mortified about the whole thing because.... ???? all of that work and fighting and it’s flopping which is. made all the more worse by brian’s oh too casual sympathetic comments during the press junket, and then even worse by the way that roger. doesn’t seem surprised?? because. well. even when it was a love song written about roger roger was honest about what he didn’t like about it, but now there’s a whole fucking album that john pushed really hard for and roger a) didn’t like it and b) didn’t tell him

he thought they respected one another more than that. he thought they were more secure than that. 

which sort of........ simmers uncomfortably between them as they gear up for the tour and sort of. explodes when roger starts making suggestions for changes to some of the songs for the live performances that. annoyingly sound much better and why didn’t you bring this up when we were recording the fucking album, roger (look aight atd sounds SO MUCH BETTER LIVE, IT’S BEEN MONTHS AND IM STILL SHOOK)

and roger’s sort pussyfooting around it because oh well... you know you and freddie really wanted to this one as a sort of concept album..... and brian and i didn’t want to interfere...... (brian: very much did want to interfere) ............ so ya know................ it’s not really my style so i didn’t wanna stick my foot where it doesn’t belong.........

and john’s like???? its music what the fuck are you Talking About? you know music you know what sounds good and what doesnt and it’s not like you’ve ever been shy about voicing your opinions before, so forgive me if im a bit confused about the sudden reticence 

regardless, it’s Not a Big Deal. no really. roger will insist this til the day he dies

and things calm down? they take a break and, as they are wont to do, the tensions of the band slowly start slipping from john and roger’s day to day lives? like, when they’re not living in close quarters and feeding off of the energies that brian and freddie and mack and everyone else is putting out. it’s just them, yeah? 

but anyway, roger’s still been writing music and ha enough for a new solo album so he’s like. yeah. think imma do that and john’s a bit taken aback because? fuck, you’ve been busy then you said you didn’t have much of anything for hot space??? and roger’s like. uh, yup. been busy. busy bee, me. ya know. while ur out painting the shed i gotta keep myself occupied somehow

except. well. john’s obviously lending a hand with bass and mixing, and brian’s in and out too, so’s freddie and. it’s freddie, actually, who picks up that roger had been working on the beat of  I Cry for You (Love, Hope and Confusion) back in the studio when they’d been working on hot space which.   doesn’t make sense, because he definitely hadn’t shown them it to them which is odd, because roger usually shows them everything he writes in case they want it for queen? 

and then brian chimes in because, actually, he recognises the lyrics for killing time? 

and john is like what the FUCK is going on because this is just? weird? 

so john ends up lowkey cornering him at home in a totally not cool sneaky fashion (read: he gives him a fucking mindblowing orgasm and then is like [head propped on roger’s chest] SO)  because???? ofc he supports rog’s solo career but also? why didn’t he share what he was writing with him? what’s going on? music’s always been a language they’ve shared, even if they tended towards different dialects, and now it... well it doesn’t feel very good that roger seems to be inching him out of something that john knows is so very important to him

and roger’s like huh no idea what you’re talking bout. been really busy writing recently. shame though, means i might not have much for the next queen album

and john’s like? do you want to leave queen, if that what this is about?

and roger’s horrified because what the fuck no i’m just not sure i’ll have much to contribute is all which has john like?? because. it’s roger of course he’s got something to contribute what the fuck are you talking about

but roger’s like oh well ya know nothing im really writing at the moment is much of our current style so. that’s cool, though. that’s fine

but john is confused bc well. hot space was a bit of a failure so they’re probably headed back to more consistent waters so that’s not a problem, and hey, maybe if roger had injected a bit more of his style into the album things might have been better right?

ANYWAY basically john’s like yo my man like. if u dont wanna write any material for the new album that’s? fine ig? but we kinda Need You to be a little bitch about the things u dont like because.... things work better when ur being a nitpicky little bitch than when ur being silently supportive of me :) though that was sweet

and rogers like oh i was 100% not being supportive of either u or brian’s bullshit tbh i just. disco isn’t my forte ya know i didn’t wanna chat shit ab smth i know nothing about like, god, imagine if you’d listened to me about aobtd????????? 

which. john’s like. i? i mean, i did. fuck sake, the whole thing got rewritten to be about our dog (steve) bc u made a joke about it? i.     i did listen to u about aobtd

and john has honestly NO IDEA what any of this is about? because roger has an awful tendency to sit on things until they’re Much Bigger than what they were to begin with. like, john’s actually not great at that? he’s not very good at hiding that he’s angry or upset, not for the long term. roger’s a lot better at it in the worst kind of way, because unless you pick up on it right at the beginning by the time you’ve figured out something’s wrong it’s months down the track and so many micro interactions or events have been tacked onto the Original Problem that it’s a sprawling mess of “i dont want to communicate that im feeling vulnerable about something so instead im gonna try and turn my vulnerabilities into armour” - like deciding to turn all of your writing, not just the stuff that won’t fit on your main project’s albums, into solo material because your solo stuff doesn’t have to be successful 

but also, ok fine. 

and so he sort of? lets it go? because tbh once roger latches onto something, when u havent go in there early enough? your best bet is to just wait for him to.... get over it. which he generally does. he doesnt have the patience for decade long grudge matches, not really.

and then it all comes to a head when brian writes and shows them all machines (or: back to humans) which obvs came about from an idea of roger’s and. well. freddie thinks its amazing, john is nodding along even as he sends him small little side eyes and well. fuck it, right?

and so the next week he comes in and slams down the first rough draft of radio gaga, the music heavily influenced by I Cry for You (Love, Hope and Confusion) which freddie had been complaining about being used up on a solo album 

and then he goes home and tops the hell out of john, the end.

Queen Album Reviews: News Of The World (1977)

Title: I love the Newspaper rhetoric, I think it’s a really clever name for an album with, although there are few songs within this album which speak directly to, or reflect the motifs the album name creates - though it’s very possible thats just me. 8/10

Album Cover:  I think the artwork, aside form being just a great piece of art inspired by  Astounding Science Fiction, works really well in conjunction with the title of the album when considering the political climate at the time, I’m not going to go too heavily into it because I know people dont find it interesting, but basically I think the title making heavy reference to a respected News organisation alongside chaos and the violence within the cover works as effective allegory the state of Britain at the time. Almost alluding to the disorder which existed just bellow the surface of Britain under the facade of a ‘United Kingdom’. 

This particularly striking as this period of time in Britain which was turbulent to say the least. It was the year of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, raising eyebrows amongst those in society who saw the wealth and extravagance of the celebrations as a kick in the teeth to the poorest in society. Particularly at a time when inflation had risen by around 70% in 3 years and the wealth gap was growing, sparking a series of small-scale strikes in Britain (queue the Sex Pistols). British relations with the Irish and the IRA was a growing concern, and the competence of British police was called into question as crime was at a high (think Yorkshire Ripper and the Wold’s End Murders). Basically it was just a tough time in Britain and through referencing the news in their title alongside the disarray in the album cover it really drew on some interesting motifs for me. 

(Sorry for the mini essay, I know people don’t care but I just think it’s a really interesting piece of social commentary.) 10/10

We Will Rock You: A strong album opener and a bloody good song. I really like how basic the song (and the whole album) is especially after the complexity of the previous two albums, I really like the stripped back, classic rock approach that they've gone for here. It’s impossible not to tap your feet along to this song. 8/10

We are the Champions: Just as is the case with WWRY, its a classic, and incredibly anthem song. I feel like its kind of overplayed (again, as is WWRY) but that doesn't mean I’m not going to lose my mind and sing at the top of my voice when it comes on in the Student Union every single Friday. 8/10

Sheer Heart Attack: A very energetic, almost punk-esc song, it’s kind of Queens only foray into punk music and I think really reflects how Roger always kept a finger on the pulse of what was happening with music at the time. I happen to really like this song, though maybe thats not too surprising because I really like a lot of the punk music that came out of the late 7-’s including the music from the Sex Pistols fronted of course by Freddie’s best mate Simon Ferocious. 7.5/10

All Dead, All Dead: Apart from the fact that this song feels slightly misplaced, coming after such a heavy song, I do consider this one of my favourite songs on the album. It’s a very gentle song and I really am a sucker for any song Brian sings lead vocals on. It’s a very relatable song obviously being written about loss, and as is often the case with Brians songs its incredibly melancholic and nostalgic. 9/10

Spread Your Wings: This song makes me feel so homesick every time I listen to it and ALWAYS makes me cry, so thanks John. Seriously though this song is so beautifully written and is so emotive, I think Freddie really excels himself in terms of his vocal performance here. 10/10

Fight from the Inside: I find this song so interesting musically because its so drums and bass heavy. I know that Roger’s songs are often heavy on drums and thats natural, but I feel like its super rare for drums and bass to lead in the way they do here (rather than the sound being driven by guitar) - that being said the guitar riff here is so great. As per I love Roger’s voice and I really like the lyrics here too! 8.5/10

Get Down, Make Love: I know that this song is really clumsily written and the first time I heard it it thought it sounded almost disjointed. However, all that said, it’s my guilty pleasure and I can’t stop myself loving it. 8.5/10

Sleeping on the Sidewalk: Brians back! I love the blues feel that this song has to it, it’s incredibly easy listening and its nice to hear Brian singing about something that isn't so melancholic for a change 7/10

Who Needs You: This is such a light song, I love the use of the Spanish guitar and the maracas, it gives it an entirely different feel than what is expected of Queen but it works! Not one of my favourites but a refreshing change. 7/10

It’s Late: Another great contribution from Brian, this song is clearly meant to tell a story and I think is really successful in that aspect. I absolutely love the guitar solo here and lyrically it’s such a strong song. 7/10

My Melancholy Blues: I really love this one and feel like it’s underrated. It really highlights Freddie’s skill as a pianist and songwriter. It’s a very gentle jazz-oriented song, and again not necessarily what you’d expect from Queen but it’ such a beautiful, understated song. 9/10

Dream Diary 2

A lot of my dreams are about sex or perverted things. Which is not surprising since I am a young virgin man and these are the dreams I obviously enjoy the most. But sometimes sex is not all that happens. The year is probably 1920 or whenever there were a lot of gangs and mafias around. That´s right. I am part of a mafia gang. I am not very high up but my ambitions are. One day I will have my own gang. Maybe even lead this one. Until then I have to do some dirty work. But I don´t mind that. It makes this life less boring.  Like every good criminal organisation our enemies are not only the police but also other gangs. And one of them has wronged us. Badly. I don´t know what they did. And I do not care. The boss said I had to kill some thugs so I obey. With my car that will be considered vintage in 80 years I arrive at the adress I got. I turn the radio off and get out of the car. I look around while straightening my suit jacket. Nobody is around. Everyone is at work. I like to do my killings while there is still light outside. People don´t expect that.  I check the weapons in my pockets. A pistol with one spare magazine and a medium large knife. My confidence thinks I do not need more than that.  I head to the building across the street and walk in like I own the place.  The door was unlocked so why not. Careless thugs I think to myself.  The hall is dark and quiet. I walk upstairs. Another quiet hallway but this time a lot of light shines through a narrow window. I walk up to the window and close the curtains. Wouldn´t want anyone to see me, would we? I take out my pistol and the cardboard note I was given. Room 7.  Standing in front of the door to room 7 I take a deep breath and circle my head to ease the muscles in my neck. Showtime. I kick down the door and immediatly fire my pistol into the room.  Luckily I actually hit someone in the chest. He falls to the ground and his compadres yell and storm with drawn weapons in my direction. Man that would have been awkward if I had been given the wrong room number and just gunned down some 60 year old granny. The first of the other thugs enters the room and prepares to shoot at me.  I throw the cardboard note at his hand the the gun cocks to the side. I shoot him between the eyes and jump at his falling body to use him as a shield against the next guy. But that one holds a shotgun and because I am not confident in the thickness of my meat shield I push the dead man against the alive man. The dead man and the alive mans shotgun drop to the ground. That alive idiot actually tries to pick up his weapon but I shoot him in his reaching hand and then his screaming open mouth. The alive man is now dead as well.  Nobody else enters the room so I go into the next. But before I can take my first step into the hallway a baseball bat hits my face. One of these thugs not only tried to ambush me but also succeeded.  I drop my gun. Idiot. Always hold onto your weapon no matter what. The third man, a bulky dude, swings his bat at me again. Are all these guys stupid? Why dont you shoot me with one of the guns on the floor? I was stunned long enough.  I catch the bat with my left hand but didn´t expect him to be so strong. I get down on one knee and that idiot shows his teeth with an evil smile.  He wants to swing at me for a third time but my hand still holds the tip of the bat.  He tries to jerk the bat out of my hand and I use the help of his strength to get back on my feet. I let go of the bat and before he can swing at me again I pull out my knife and ram it into his throat. As he drops to the floor I pick up my pistol. The information I was given stated that there are 5 people in this apartment but so far I only killed 4. Expecting another ambush I sprint and jump through the doorway low enough to evade another bat to the head. I land hard on the floor and quickly turn around to shoot at whoever my second ambusher would be. But nobody lurks in either side of the doorway. Maybe the last one is hiding.  Since I have devastated the kitchen / dining room the only ones left are the bathroom and the bedroom. Killing someone on the toilet has always been a dream of mine so I check the bathroom but it is empty. That means the last thug has to be either in the bedroom or out getting groceries.  I´m hoping for the former. I kick open the bedroom door and have to hold myself back not to shoot. The last person is not another thug. It´s a woman. A beautiful woman. Not saying that women can´t be thugs but well. Wearing a red long dress and no shoes she is lying on the bed with lustful eyes. But behind the lust I can see her fear. I mean, who wouldn´t be afraid in this situation?  Can I help you? She whispers trying to sound confident. I lower my gun and she seems to relax a bit. You one of them? I ask. She nods. No use in denying. I nod as well and then put my gun away. She looks at me puzzled. I´ll take out the trash first. I explain. And then we will see what to do about you. Dont try anything funny. Except if it is an actual joke.  My attempt to lighten the mood falls flat. Typical. After I have disposed of the bodies I return to the bedroom. She is still there. So what now? She asks.  I sigh.  How about we fuck and then see where things go? To my surprise she agrees. After an intense and totally appropriate time of sexual intercourse during which she does not try to kill me like some other former partners of mine I stand again dressed in front of the bed. She helps me button my shirt and I say. You should lay low now. I won´t kill you but someone else might. Maybe just stay here and I come visit again. She laughs and I smile. Finally. And this turns out to be the beginning of a beautiful love story. She acually stays in the apartment and after I repaired the damage the thugs - not me - caused we have a very loving relationship for a month or so.  Not only is she hot but smart as well as I assume from the heap of books she reads while I am not inside her. And on our one month anniversary she gifts me her favorite book. I thank her with a big kiss.  Suddenly someone knocks on the door. Who could that be? A neighbour? Someone the boss sent to give me my next assignment? I open the door and before my eyes have a chance to see who is there I receive a massive hit on the head and the sky blackens.  Bound and broken I wake up. I am on my knees in the dining room and 4 men are standing in front of me. They are thugs from our rival gang. Good job. Says one of them to someone behind me. My girlfriend walks into my view. My heart sinks to the bottom of my stomach. I stare in disbelief as she attempts to leave the room without any further explanation. But what is there to explain? I killed her friends and she used me while planning my death all this time. I shout after her but she does not turn around. And then she is gone. Look at him. He really thought they had something serious. Says a thug and the others laugh. I dont feel like laughing. One of them walks up to me playing with a crowbar in his hands. We´re gonna ask you some questions now and you´re gonna answer them. And then we´ll kill you. Sounds like a plan. I spit out some blood as he hits me with the crowbar across the face. Shut up! How am I gonna answer your questions if I shut up? His answer is a kick to my stomach. My face hits the ground as the air leaves my lungs. Get up!  I don´t get back up. He hits my back with the crowbar.  I don´t get back up. He grabs my hair and pulls me up.  His face close to mine. Now listen here- Before he can finish his sentence my face snaps forward and I bite into his nose. Blood fills my mouth and his screams penetrate my eardrums.  Let goooo! He cries. I hear someone else behind me and throw myself back hitting the man the second man in the stomach with my head. He staggers to the side and I use this opportunity to get on my feet and run into the bedroom. One of the men runs after me while the other one tends to the guy with the bleeding nose. Idiots never change. I think.  They didn´t even bind my hands behind my back but in front. I turn around and swing my bound fists at the surprised guys chin. He drops to the ground like a sack of potatoes. I get the knife in the bedroom and cut off the ropes around my hands.But I dont have time to rub my wrists because one of the thugs fires his machine gun through the whole apartment. I fall to the ground and roll und ther bed. Fuck these cheap walls. Can´t even stop a bullet. The fire stops and I roll up from under the bed and grap my pistol. That bastard put holes in all of our furniture. But I guess there is no we anymore. Anger pumps through my heart and I run back into the hallway.  The thug with the machine gun jerks back as he sees me. He hasn´t finished reloading yet. And as his brain tries to decide whether he should continue or drop it and fight me, my knife pierces through his left eye. I yank the knife out of his skull and duck as another thug runs at me swinging his crowbar. After repeatedly stapping him in the chest the swinging stops. Two guys left. But they are not as dumb as the others. As soon as I enter the kitchen they fire at me from behind the tipped over dining table. I jump back just in time to avoid the bullets. I wish I had a grenade. But then my eyes wander to the two dead thugs on the ground and I get an idea. I lift the bulky dude up on his dead feet and hold him in front of me. If there is a time for a meatshield it is now. Screaming like a maniac I press forward my blade in one hand and my shield in the other. The two surviving thugs fire everything they have at me but my shield does not break. As I hear the clicking of the ejecting magazines I drop my shield and jump over the table bringing down my wrath in form of a knife to the heart on one of them. The last guy hits me in the head with the bottom of his gun and my view fades for a moment then I let go of my knife, turn around, evade the next swing and bring my hands around his neck. Panic wells up in his eyes as he tries to kick and hit me to free himself. But I don´t even feel it anymore. His eyes roll upwards and his body shivers one last time. Then he is dead too. Air leaves my mouth. It feels like I was holding my breath for an eternity. I stand up and look upon the destruction. Fuck. FUCK. My fist slams into the wall but this time I feel the pain. On the ground I see the book. Her favorite book she gave me as a present just before my world broke apart. I really loved her but apparently she did not love me. That pain stings more than all of my bruises and wounds I have ever had combined. I look at the door. And then I woke up. So this one was a bit longer. Of course I tried to make it a bit more appealing to read but most of what I wrote happened in my dream.  That one was actually pretty awesome and after I woke up I knew I just had to always remember it. I also can imagine why I dreamt this. At least partially. I had this dream shortly after I saw the Mafia III trailer. But why there was that love story and all that I have no clue.

Hi, I'm Tumblr user biquoi or speedbaegon and since I don’t really have anything to do I wanted to make this little record. I’m italian and a JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Fan and since Vento Aureo's anime is supposedly coming for 2017 I thought it would be good to explain to you how to pronounce Vento Aureo's character's names -because I thought it would be nice just to... spread this little knowledge, as I'm guessing not many people know how to pronounce italian name which is quite normal, I guess, but it can be really annoying and also for you too it could be something good to know.

So starting with the main character: Giorno Giovanna. Giorno means day in italian and Giovanna is the feminine counterpart for Giovanni which are common girls and boys names. 

Then we have Bruno Buccellati, or Bucciarati, I don’t know why there are two ways to say his surname but Buccellati is probably the most correct way, because as far as i know Bucciarati is the way the japanese pronounciation changes the way its written... but it's more correct in italian to say Buccellati I guess. Then we have Leone Abbacchio. Leone means lion in italian, and abbacchio is a kind of meat. You say it like if there were two "k"s at the end of the name.

Then we have Guido Mista, and also his stand Sex Pistols features the numbers from one to seven except four, obviously. So there are Uno Due Tre, Cinque Sei and Sette, so this is how you pronounce his stand.

Then we have Narancia Ghirga, which if im not wrong “narancia” doesn’t really come from italian because for orange we say "arancia" without the N, and if I’m not wrong it’s supposed to be like from... spanish? I think? 

Then we have Pannacotta Fugo and... it's pretty plain I guess there's not much to say about his name. 

Then we have Trish Una, which is kind of weird to say I guess. Trish is a common name, more or less, but Una isn’t really a name or surname... as with everyone actually, their names and surnames mostly come from food in general, they aren't really common name but, whatever i guess, it's jojo, i mean...

Then we can go on to the villains -oh i didn’t mention characters like Jean Pierre Polnareff or the other ones that make an appereance like Koichi and Jotaro

If we go on to the villains we have other names like Pericolo uhhh- Pericolo isn’t a villain, sorry- but Pericolo, the main villain Diavolo, which means “devil”, Vinegar Doppio, vinegar isn’t an italian word, but doppio is, and it means “double”, then we have Squalo, Tiziano, Carne, Cioccolata, Secco, Polpo, Zucchero, Sale, Risotto Nero- This one is quite important I guess, Risotto is a character many people love, I don’t know if in english you would say his name with like a zed? like rizotto? but its actually risotto, with a soft s, so that's that. Then we have Formaggio, and I don’t know if you have this sound in english, Illuso, Prosciutto (it varies in the regions in italy), Pesci, Melone, Ghiaccio Sorbetto, Gelato, and then we have Leaky Eye Luca (then we have Scolippi and S dont really remember who that is........)

These are all characters from Vento Aureo, I’m reading them off the wikia so I don’t forget anyone.

Also while were here I was thinking about the other italian characters as in JJBA there are many, but they don’t really have italian names, except for Lisa Lisa which is the italian correspondant to Elizabeth, so in a way it’s correct.

Also Suzie Q, which is kinda weird because Suzi(e) or Susi(e) could be the abbreviation of Susanna which is actually an italian name, but yeah it’s written with the zed and it has the q at the end which doesn’t make any sense but ok.

Then we have all the Zeppeli family, so from William (which isn’t italian), then we have Caesar Antonio, by the way yeah that’s is his second name, then we have Gyro, but i repeat these are not italian names, and I don’t know if I’m forgetting anyone.

Obviously we have Dio, the italian word for “god”, and it’s used throughout all the parts.

I dont think im forgetting anyone - I haven’t finished jojolion so I dont know if there’s anyone in JJL who has an italian name but i dont think so.

mmm I’m trying to think back but yeah this is pretty much it... I hope I’ve been sort of helpful, somehow uhmm it’s someth- oh obviously I’m forgetting about Enrico Pucci, how could I forget about him. 

Yeah but other than that I’m done, so yeah I was saying this is something I’m really passionate about because I realise for how famous JJBA is, it’s obvious that mistakes could happen and people could be pronouncing names wrong, and it's something i really care about when it’s about like series im really passionate about OK YEAH IM RAMBLING ITS BEEN TEN MINUTES. playing new vegas for the first time and wanted your advice on something, what should i do with benny, should i kill him straight up in the tops or let it play out? i've stopped playing for a while cause i can't make up my mind, what do you think would make for a more entertaining first playthrough?

clarification on the benny ask, ive been trying to play as i would react in the situations and i would probably try to be cilvil after he explains himself but it seems like my character’s journey has led up to killing him so i dont know

OOOOH GOOD QUESTION.

Personally, the most satisfying way I’ve ever dealt with Benny was to use Black Widow to seduce him, let him escape, tracked him down to the Fort, played along with Caesar just long enough to be allowed to decide what to do with Benny, and killed Benny with his own pistol. You get to listen to all the awkward sex dialogue from Benny, and there’s a certain poetic justice in shooting him in the head with the same gun he shot you in the head with. Obviously, this only works if you’re playing a female Courier (you can always make him talk with you in the Presidential Suite, though, and let him go from there). Also, if you don’t want to play along with Caesar’s Legion (which is fair, I don’t like dealing with them, either), you can choose to just slaughter your way through the Fort and have the same outcome.

The other way I’d recommend is to present evidence of Benny’s plan to Swank (you can either pass speech checks or give him a cigarette butt, a lighter, and a “hospitality note”) so that the Chairmen are on your side. You can then confront Benny in the Tops and take him out, knowing that you turned his own casino (save for his bodyguards) against him, or have Swank send him upstairs, where you can kill him with no one attacking you. This might be a more “in character” option, if you’re looking for revenge and don’t think your character would be willing to sleep with him.
