Kit entered the Spread Eagle, her eyes darting amongst its patrons, everyone seemed to be celebrating something though she wasnt sure there was much to celebrate with a cult still running around.

She stood at the bar, quiet, taking the time to listen to others rather than to speak herself. She'd never been much for social situations as is, and banter with most people even less so.

Mary May served beers to the crowd, including a younger man with blue eyes, whispy facial hair and a smirk like he'd won the lottery.

When Kit finally got the chance to order for herself, it was like a cold front hit the entire bar.

"Hey Kit, you met the hero of the hour? This here's Calahan."

Mary May smiled at the younger man as icy eyes scanned over him, surveying him.

The shit eating grin finally made sense.

"What'd he do?"

"Brought me back my daddy's Widowmaker."

A red eyebrow arched, hardly impressed by the feat he'd enacted against the cult. "That's it?"

Calahan turned his head to look at Kit, doing his best to keep smiling despite the less than friendly response he'd received from the stranger.

"That absolutely is not fucking it. You're looking at the Deputy the cult won't shut up about."

She looked him up and down, unimpressed with his bravado. "The Resistance is recruiting kids now, huh?" She asked, giving Mary May a side-eyed glance.

Mary May ignored her and continued to tend bar.

"Word of advice, kid." Kit turned to Cal while grabbing her beer from the counter. "If you're going to be a soldier, you gotta look at the bigger picture. One truck doesn't mean shit."

The redhead slipped away silently to one of the tables in the far corner, sitting alone. Sipping on her beer, she looked back up at the bar and the party that continued.

God really must have been on Grace's side today to present her with this opportunity.

Deputy Calahan Hartley placing a cigarette into his mouth beside the Spread Eagle and then shoving his hands into pockets, confusion morphing onto his face before he moved to another one.

Grace sidled up beside him with her lighter, flicking her thumb and holding the flame up to the end of his cigarette. He hadn't noticed yet.

'Thank—' he froze and his eyes suddenly hardened as his smile dropped, ah now you've noticed.

'You're welcome.' Grace flashed him a sweet smile, one that was not returned. In fact, Calahan looked like he'd rather be anywhere else but with her.

'Is something the matter, Deputy?' He was warily side-eyeing her as he blew smoke out of his mouth, Grace could practically feel his desire for her to go away rolling off him.

'No.'

Grace sucked down a snort. Eloquent. Instead she took a small step closer to his side as she watched the people walking around Fall's End, she felt him tense beside her.

'Fall's End is such a lovely place, so many nice people! I do always enjoy coming here.' Her voice was light and friendly, but based on the wary and tense look on the deputy's face as he watched her, he wasn't buying it. But Grace did notice his lips quirk into a smirk after a moment:

'Yeah, nice places tend to attract all kinds. At least that makes the troublesome ones more easy to find. They tend to stand out against the rest.' Grace would have cackled if she wasn't trying to keep up her friendly persona. The boldness of misguided youth.

Instead she let out a friendly giggle, 'oh you are so right Deputy Hartley, lucky we have keen eyed individuals such as yourself helping to show us the difference.'

Grace turned to him and gave another friendly smile, but he was already looking at her and the amount of veiled anger in his eyes made Grace feel all excited and tingly. That was probably enough for today, she should spread out the fun lest she overindulge. Joseph did always caution her on overindulgence.

'Well then,' Grace straightened out her skirt and stepped in front of Calahan, 'I'll be seeing you, Deputy.'

Walking away from the side of the Spread Eagle, Grace pulled out her cellphone as she walked and pressed call.

'Hello?'

'Joseph, it's me.'

'Oh Grace, are you back in the Valley?'

'Yes, I'm in Fall's End now,' she slowed to a stop when she crossed the road a bit away from the bar, 'I was getting a read on that deputy you asked about.'

'And?'

Grace tapped her heeled foot as she spoke, 'he's incredibly antagonistic and suspicious when it comes to the Project, I doubt he would join of his own free will.'

'Hm, that is a shame. But thank you for doing that for me, although I hate to take the more forceful route, sometimes it is necessary.'

'May I make a request?'

She could almost feel Joseph's curiously raised eyebrow.

'You don't often ask for favours Grace, go ahead.'

Turning around Grace saw Calahan still smoking beside the Spread Eagle, looking much happier and significantly more relaxed since she had left.

'When the time comes, leave Deputy Hartley to me.' Anger and cockiness was so easy to manipulate after all.

'Very well, I'm assuming you have an idea for how to best handle him?'

Grace watched a woman with grey streaks in her hair walk up to Calahan, she was holding hands with a small child and she watched the man's face light up at the sight of them.

A smirk spread across Grace's face as she saw the two of them.

'Yeah, I've got one.'

Her smile crept up her face slowly and her piercing blue stare seemed to focus entirely on him, despite her swimming vision.

About: Hannah Lamb is a licensed counseling psychologist who is not immune to Joseph's waistline. Originally sent to Hope County too simply assist in the arrest and provide de-escalation, she ends up the target of Joseph's weird obsessions and eventually agrees to join Eden’s Gate in exchange for her friend's safety. She also made out with Joseph during the Bliss trip where he showed her the Apocalypse. While she's genuinely in love with Staci Pratt (mutual), she ends up marrying Joseph to further sell her plot, but that kind of backfires as she catches feelings. She and Joseph end up with twins, and Hannah ends up stealing the cult for herself. Their kids are weird as hell and Hannah couldn't be prouder.
