doze has a tendency towards being honest, to the point where it backfires on him pretty badly. he's been turned away from far too many purchases in the past because of it

when asked by the seller what he wants a book of soul magic for, he probably shouldnt have admitted his curiosity about the physiology of souls and their limits before being destroyed. the guy did not let him buy the book...

eventually, sylki helps him come up with a cover story to parrot off. hes not a wizard turned warlock, whos curiosity has lead him down darker and darker pathways- not at all! nooo, hes a simple reasearcher, who hopes to study dark magic, to find a way to counter it

marx’s siblings! he went pretty much no-contact when he left home to avoid any of them trying to come see him or otherwise attempt to talk him out of leaving, and i’m uncertain if i want him to necessarily get back in touch with them? especially since his relationship with his family was. strained when he left home.
