WIP(s) Intro: Liber Elementa

Liber Elementa is the name of my future show(hopefully!) and its universe of stories based on the Periodic Table of Elements.

It revolves around a group of immortal young adults who each represent an element of the periodic table. Each and every element possesses a lively and layered personality which fuels each of their stories as they wrestle to reconcile their element with their humanity. (I really love each and everyone of these dweebs :)) Tentatively, the final goal is to produce a show where various stories are told over multiple episodes revolving around different characters(hopefully it’s not confusing though!!!).

Though I find it hard to pin down an age range as there are so many different personalities abound, it is definitely more mature and recommended for older teens and up for safe measure, though some of it is tame enough for teens, it just depends on what characters you are dealing with. The themes are treated maturely and in depth dealing with death, morality, immortality, love, and identity among many others. As genres, it can fit under action, slice-of-life, drama, romance ;), comedy(bc it can’t be all deep and gritty yo) and historical at times. But what mostly determines the feel of a story is the characters that comprise it. 

So let’s introduce the pilot and other stories below.

Liber Elementa Pilot:

This is the first episode of the show and most likely a test run of what the show will look like. Eventually, I desire for it to be animated with voice acting and music and all that fun jazz. 

It is written in script form to make transfer onto the screen easier.

Right now, I’m writing a new script from scratch. Liber Elementa is actually a couple of years old and as its grown, it’s gone through many forms and it continues to evolve. Thus there are actually a few, 3 to be precise, iterations of the 1st episode script that are outdated and lacking direction. I’ve decided to reboot the original first story premise with lots of scrapping of old ideas and reconstructing, in certain cases, characters. As I’ve grown as a writer, it makes me proud to see how far I’ve come, but it also necessitates this new re-haul.

So here’s the actual exciting part: what it’s about.

It revolves two groups of characters: one is the “DNA squad” comprising of Carbon, Oxygen, Hydrogen, Phosphorus and Nitrogen. The other is Silicon and his “employees” Tin and Indium who work of Silex Corp.

It takes the place in the modern era as they face the consequences of their pasts and the decisions they must make in the ever-changing times. I haven’t quite figured out everything yet, but Silicon has a very important role as we are in the information age.

It’s more lighthearted and full of found family, antics and bad puns.

Hopefully, I’ll post someday profiles for them :3

The Earth and the Sun

A separate post will be made in depth about The Earth and the Sun, but it’s a little idea that grew into a full blown story that I’ve been writing to try out my story skills.

Status: First draft (20,000 words so far)

Synopsis: Some names are famously embedded in the human psyche, yet Tellurium, obscure and seemingly forgettable, wishes to hide in obscurity. But when instead he finds himself entangled with the affluent and arrogant Gold, he is forced to question the reality he believes in and the buried past that fosters it.

Ambition

Status: First draft (1,500 words so far)

Synopsis: Edvard Jordsten’s short life has not added up to much so far, but he believes he’s destined for greatness. After a bout of fatal winter illness, he finds himself thrust into the strange world of the elements and assuming the name of the recently discovered element silicon. It turns out finding his place in the world is harder than he thought, but he’s not going to let that stop him.

Liber Elementa Inversion

That werid crazy AU for experimenting. It’s not really canon in any sense, but it’s basically the premise of the DNA squad being the headline good guys turned on its head. Instead, it’s a world where they strike the death and fear in the hearts of the elements in a dark post-apocalyptic atmosphere. Ah yes, smell that good angst?

What Fire is Hottest?

Good Evening Everyone!

Today I’m bringing you some information on how to make fire hotter, so if you have any magic using OC’s that you want to be stronger than other fire users but also want to keep it somewhat scientifically grounded then you’re in luck! Really though, I’m not sure why I researched this so much, but it worked great for my science teacher OC that I threw into an isekai. Now, without further ado, let’s get into this!

We’re going to start low and pick it up over time, so let’s start with basic wood. It ignites at 300°C (572 degrees Fahrenheit), and once it starts burning it stays around 800°C to 950°C (1472 to 1742 degrees Fahrenheit ). Beech wood burns hottest at 950°C, while western red cedar burns coldest at 354°C, and your classic oak burns at 900°C. Next we have coal, which burns at 1,100°C (2,012 degrees Fahrenheit). A candle burns at 1,000°C. 

Okay, now let's get to the actually interesting things since we have established a base point! I’ll be continuing in only Celsius, so I apologize for any of you who only know fahrenheit. 

There are tons of types of fuels that are used to create hot flames, but which ones are the hottest? First we can start with butane, which burns at 1970°C. Next is Oxyhydrogen, which burns at 2,000°C, carbon monoxide that burns at 2,121°C, hydrogen that burns at 2,660°C, Propylene which burns at 2870°C, MAPP which burns at 2980°C, and Acetylene that burns at 3,100°C. The hottest fuel though is dicyanoacetylene, or carbon subnitride, which burns at 4,990°C. 

The core of the sun is only about 10,000, but the sun's heat peaks on the edges where it burns at (roughly) 15,000,000°C. 

If you’re wondering what flames burn what color, I’ll give you that information too. Red flames are 600°C-800°C, orange are 1100°C, yellow is 1200°C, blue are 1400°C-1650°C, indigo are just under 1650°C, white are 1300°C-1500°C, and purple is over 1650°C. 

What chemical reactions make these colors you ask? Red is caused by strontium chloride or strontium nitrate, orange is caused by burned carbon particles or calcium chloride, yellow is caused by sodium chloride, green is caused by copper or barium, blue is caused by copper chloride, indigo is caused by indium, white is caused by magnesium sulfate, and purple is caused by potassium nitrate mixed with potassium sulfate.

Intel and the current CPU soldering situation

So, a thing that's really been grinding my gears in recent time is how Intel handles the soldering of their CPUS. Let me get a few things out of the way first:

Sandy bridge had the last soldered mainstream consumer desktop CPUs, at a die area of 213 mm². The comparably large mainstream die and solder helped a lot with OC and thermals.

The Skylake-X parts do NOT have any soldered dies, as opposed to former HEDT parts. For the ~325 mm² LCC die this is really questionable, while with the ~485 mm² HCC die it's outright problematic and counterproductive. I have no idea what's going on the heads of the people responsible for this.

Intel does not solder their consumer mainline anymore, even though the upcoming Coffee Lake i5 and i7 will get a size bump from Kaby Lake to be around 150 mm². A decent amount of very powerful cores in a really small space.

There has been talk of Intel having trouble with the smaller dies and potential problems arising from the soldering process. I am not 100% inclined to believe this, since they even managed to solder the good old E8400, and that's a tiny 107 mm² die.

On a side note, AMD is soldering all Zen products, from the lowest end R3 up to R7 (Zeppelin dies are 213 mm²) and even the large quad-die TR and EPYC CPUs are all soldered.

It's just aggravating how this company refuses to give the consumer the best product they could deliver and even starts to cheapen out on huge $2000 dies, just to save a few bucks.

The products are still the most powerful you can get, so why artificially limit them with a cheap TIM? The cores will run hotter, the fans will spin louder, potential OC in K models is limited and the overall reliability and lifetime is lower. The current indium solder is not far behind delid, so that'd save many the hassle of tinkering with such expensive products. It would be nice if we could have a comeback for the consumer market sometime in the future, even it's just for the i5/i7 K models, who would benefit the most from it.

Na přání jsou k dispozici 19″ kola Pretoria s matným lakem v odstínu Dark Graphite s pneumatikami 235/40 R 19.

Redrew my first drawing of these two because I wanted to draw them. The original (link) is from… *chokes* 2016! (Also I’ll add the coloured version below the cut because I never uploaded the coloured version for some reason)

They’re Steven Universe OCs who quite literally melt in each other’s arms. Both are he/him. And they’re in gay love.

Indium is a tech engineer/designer for the Metals, creating the holoscreens. He is also one of the Metals that follows Hydrogen (worshipped as creating the Metals and everything, Hydrogen doesn’t like this but also hates confrontation so they hide rather than try to get other Metals to stop it). Indium is very outgoing, and thinks Gallium is the smarter one and hates it when Gallium puts himself down.

Gallium is a lower class Metal who has more of a liquid body much like Mercury. Unlike Mercury, he isn’t poison with a god complex. So he’s a replacement for what would’ve been good for Mercury to do but Gallium does instead (Mercury hates him). Because of this, he thinks he’s just a stand in for anyone. He’s a bit shy and nervous, but loves Indium.

When these two get too close (especially kissing) they have a tendency to fuse and form Galinstan. Galinstan can be found more easily than Gallium or Indium separately.

Happy Pride Month From Your Local >:3c

Although it’s probably been done a million times, I decided to draw one of my OCs for Pride Month along with their flags and stuff. So here’s Gadolinium with rainbows everywhere. 

He’s the most showing type so I thought it would be best with him. Some other of the Metals that are gay are: Gallium, Indium, Yttrium, and Scandium. I haven’t completely decided on all the Metals’ sexualities as it’s not that important to the story, so there might be some other gay ones. But this guy. No he’s definitely gay. 

Anyway, Happy Pride month to all! I’ll probably do other flags with the Metals with other sexualities and genders and stuff.
