Maple Mike's Great White North Caravan
Tumblr media
Introducing an original caravan for my Fallout fanfic 'Iron Guardians'.
Maple Mike's Great White North Caravan is a caravan company that made it big from selling rare commodities, and formalised the use of Golden Maple brand maple syrup bottle caps as currency in the Great White North wasteland of eastern Canada, formerly the provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and parts of eastern Quebec. The Golden Maple brand of maple syrup was a dominant brand in Canada prior to the US annexation, and the distinctive gold, white and red bottle caps became collector’s items. Much like how Nuka-Cola bottle caps became a form of currency in the American wastelands after the Great War, most of the Atlantic provinces began to use Golden Maple bottle caps.
Maple Mike’s isn’t just a trade caravan, they’re a vital line of communication for disparate settlements, as well as a currency exchange, converting water into bottle caps, and Canadian bottle caps into American bottle caps. Its founder and leader, Michael ‘Maple Mike’ McClellan, worked in the infamous pre-war Canadian Federal Maple Syrup Reserve, and was one of the driving forces of the use of Golden Maple brand syrup bottle caps becoming the go-to currency.
More lore and character profile below the cut.
Maple Mike
“Finest wares from the Great White North. Ever tried pre-war maple syrup, smoothskin?”
Tumblr media
Maple Mike, born Michael McClellan, is a Canadian travelling trader and a pre-war ghoul, born in St. Andrews, New Brunswick, on October 3rd, 2038. Mike served in the Canadian Forces when Canada finally had enough of US domination and exploitation and managed to survive post-defeat reprisals by US troops occupying New Brunswick. He instead found employment with the New Brunswick branch of the (in)famous Canadian Federal Maple Syrup Reserve, a job with near-guaranteed job security, because of the benefit of maple syrup (and its economic boost) to the US occupation authorities.  Mike’s luck was stretched to the limit when Canada was subjected to nuclear attack.
While Mike’s family, including his wife, Annaleise, his two children, Sandra and John, perished in the Great War. Mike was somewhat less lucky, being exposed to enough radiation to ghoulify him. Now mutated by the radiation of the wasteland, Mike found himself distrusted, even feared, by the ‘smoothskins’, yet he was indispensable, because Maple Mike, as he would soon become known, had managed to get in on the ground floor. Red Maple brand maple syrup bottle caps had become an unofficial currency of the Great White North wasteland, and with his knowledge of the locations of the Canadian government’s maple syrup reserves, he was able to amass enough wealth to establish himself as a reputable trader, and owner of a trade caravan.
Mike has done business not just in New Brunswick, but in Nova Scotia, Quebec, Maine and even as south as the Capital Wasteland. However, he tends to do his business in the northern part of New England, recognising the comparative lack of centralised authority in the region and enhanced opportunities for trade with the disparate settlements, essentially making himself a vital line of communication for the Commonwealth and northern New England.

One of the few weapons Maple Mike will sell are the .308 calibre Canadian battle rifles, prized in the New Hampshire wastes for their reliability and stopping power. While 10, 20 and 30 round magazines were issued, 30 round straight magazines were common. The C48 is an evolution of the C2 automatic rifle, itself a variant of the classic FN FAL battle rifle, and was adopted in 2048. Many of them fell into American hands during the annexation of Canada, and have been found as far south as Panama, and as far west as the Los Angeles Boneyard.
Mike tends to sell the Canadian battle rifles without mods, expecting wastelanders to likely modify their weapons after purchase with God knows what sort of abominations.
The average C48 is sold at Maple Mike's stand in the Nashua Foundry Markets, starting at 1000 caps (or 10 litres of water).

౨ৎ ANGEL BABY
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
──── 𝗆𝗂𝗅𝖺 𝗍𝗁𝗂𝗇𝗄𝗌 𝗌𝗁𝖾 𝗐𝖺𝗌 𝗆𝖺𝖽𝖾 𝗍𝗈 𝖺𝖽𝗈𝗋𝖾 𝗌𝗎𝗇𝗈𝗈
2024 pairing. 김선우 x fem!member oc cw. mentions of dieting & body image req. mila babying sunoo. ❨ back to LIBRARY ?! ❩
Tumblr media
MILA WASN’T USED TO TAKING CARE OF OTHER PEOPLE, especially when she had grown up learning to be independent — to function without the presence of people who she could rely on, only to realise she was more lonely than anything else. So when she would innately baby her boyfriends and spoil them with affection, she surprised even herself with how natural to felt.
To care for someone, to do something kind for them, to be able to put a smile on their faces… Those were the things that Mila whole-heartedly believed she was here on this earth to do.
“Say, ‘ahhh.’” Mike lifted a fork to Sunoo’s lips, which had a chunk of her fluffy homemade pancakes covered in maple syrup and whipped cream at the end of it, topped with a sliced strawberry that would fall of any second now.
Sunoo laughed slightly before obediently allowing the girl to feed him, humming in delight as the pancake melted across his tongue in a puddle of sweetness. Mila smiled brightly, eyes sparkling with adoration as they took in the sight of his puffed cheeks and the sound of his little chirps. It wasn’t often that she looked at someone and thought, ‘I want to pinch his cheeks.’ But Sunoo had always been an exception.
“Is it good?” Mila asked. Her tone had changed to resemble the cooing that one would make to a baby. And why wouldn’t it? Sunoo was adorable, and he was technically her baby.
Sunoo nodded, his hair bouncing slightly form the movement. Mila giggled as he put his thumbs up. “It’s good!”
“Have some more.” Mila said as she poked her fork through the half-eaten pancakes on the plate. She lifted the fork up to Sunoo’s lips once again, repeating the action she had been doing for the past half an hour. And yet, it wasn’t boring or tedious in the slightest. She couldn’t think of anything she’d rather be doing.
“I think I ate too much…” Sunoo groaned as he lay down on Mila’s bed, placing a hand over his stomach. He had finished the whole plate of pancakes that Mila had made for him, unable to resist the sweetness of the fluffy treat. He pouted. “I’m so full.”
Mila giggled happily as she lay next to him, throwing her arms around him and resting her cheek against his shoulder, nuzzling it slightly. “That’s good.”
“Until I end up gaining weight, you mean,” Sunoo sighed. “I was supposed to go on diet…”
Mila immediately raised her head, a stern expression on her face. “No. You’ve already been eating less than normal. Who cares about gaining weight? It’s more important that you’re happy and healthy— and we both know you were eyeing those snacks that Jake and Riki were eating last night.”
Sunoo pouted. “But still… I should lose some of my baby fat. Especially on my face.”
“Nooooooo…” Mila leaned down to peck Sunoo’s cheek, before brushing away the hair from his face. She looked into his eyes, cupping his cheeks which she adored so much. “What about your perfect cheeks? We’d lose a national treasure if you lost any more weight… What would happen then?” She gently squished his face together. “No. I can’t live without these cheeks.”
Sunoo’s pout was replaced with a bright smile, his eyes crinkling into a familiar pair of crescent moons. “Do you like my cheeks that much?”
Mila didn’t hesitate to respond, “Of course I do.” She littered small pecks across his face, covering his skin in her love, savouring the small giggles he released in return. She pulled away, eyes sincere as they looked into his. “I love everything about you. Don’t forget that.”
Sunoo smiled, nodding in agreement. “Okay.”
He didn’t know how he would ever forget. Not when Mila was holding him so gently, as if she was holding the cusp of the world in her hands. Not when she brought his head to her chest and ran her hands through his hair while whispering how much she loved him. Not when she was calling him “baby,” “honey,” “sweetie” — every sweet name she could possibly think of — while showering him in kisses.
“This is nice,” Sunoo hummed, burying his face further into Mila’s chest. “Thank you, byeol-ah.”
Mila smiled, resting her cheek on the top of Sunoo’s head while looking at the ceiling, imagining the bright sun shining down on them through the roof. “Anything for you, xīngān.”

xīngān (“心肝”) lit. trnalsated as “heart and liver” but is a strong term of endearment more close to the english meaning of “my heart and soul”

Fic announcement I guess
I kinda think I should wait with the announcement, because I still wonder if I should bother with publishing this fic. I'm writing it in Polish so far, but I will translate it for @jimmysdragonsuit13 - she's literally screaming at me because she wants to read it 😂
So, a while ago (over a year now I think) I've watched "That'll be the day" and then "Stardust". At first it was because I heard Ringo Starr plays in the first movie and I wanted to see him, but then I had a thought: "Wait, ain't Keith in there as well?" and that turned out to be correct.
As you can guess, I do kinda have a crush on J. D. Clover - this is impossible for me to not have it, Keith plays him, he's basically Keith for crying out loud! - not as big as on Uncle Ernie, but strong enough to make a story for him and an oc.
That oc is named Jude Maple and as you can guess she's shipped with J. D. Clover once they meet at the fair (I heard they called the place like that in the movie, but wiki says it's a holiday camp and I'm a tad bit confused). The thing here is that Jude is from middle class while Clover is from working class and that difference plays a huge role here - it's a forbidden romance of sorts, considering that I settled the fic a year before "That'll be the day" took place so 1958 and how Jude's parents are (they would definitely not accept such a love and even more, her mother is keen on a settled marriage).
The story goes like this so far - I have roughly 4 chapters done and I think there will be 2 or 3 more and an epilogue:
Kevin, Jude's cousin who recently moved out of his parents' house found a place to live near the fair. He attended it in the last year and thought that it'll be a good idea to take Jude there. In the past, they made a promise that when Kevin moves out, he'll take Jude on vacations for two weeks. He recalls that promise when he visits her and after promising Juliet (Jude's mum) that he will take care of Jude and will not allow her to do anything that Juliet wouldn't, Juliet agrees for the vacations - Carol, (Jude's father) convinces Juliet as well. In his eyes, Jude should have at least some freedom before she goes to university.
Kevin of course only promised to look after Jude in words. In reality, once they arrive at his place, he tells Jude that she can do whatever she wants for the two weeks. This amount of freedom ends with Jude meeting Clover, her pissing him off at the first meeting because that's her luck apparently and at the evening in the pub where she agreed to meet with Kevin at the end of first day. She meets Mike there who is Kevin's friend. Kevin told Mike about Jude and her about Mike, so they get along very quickly, Kevin joins them not so long after and at this moment he notices that Jude cannot get her attention away from the drummer playing on the stage.
Here is where the bet takes place, so the thing that will kick the summer romance into motion. Kevin dares Jude to lose her virginity to Clover on which she courageously agrees, but here's the problem. She doesn't know how to approach him - if she didn't anger him at the first day, maybe it would be easier for her. Mike notices her struggles and he offers his help - he suggests to meet before the pub opens so that Jude can get inside and meet the band before rehearsals.
With this, she's finally able to talk with Clover. He remembers her from the first meeting, but he very quickly discards that moment as Jude managed to upset Stormy right in front of Clover (there's a moment where Stormy thinks she wanted to meet him and he gets quite upset that the middle class woman has her eyes on Clover, not on him - he's usually showered with women's attention, so it's a blow to his ego). This gets her quite a lot of points in Clover's eyes and as they talk, getting along very well, Clover suggests a walk after rehearsals. Jude agrees, staying and waiting for him, being awestruck by what she saw and heard.
Just before going on the walk, Clover borrows a key for the room (I don't know how it's called) that Mike uses to sleep in as an employee. The walk is straight to there and here is where the first time between Jude and Clover happens. It's purely one-night stand thing, but it changes with time.
Just like Jude was each evening at the pub for the past 4 days, she's still there after that day, but as the days are going by, Kevin suggests Jude to go see some attractions at evening. Jude is sad that she won't see Clover, but she shakes that thought away and goes with Kevin to spend some time with him.
Here Kevin warns her about the summer love, since he had two already and both ended up with broken hearts. Jude promises that it's not a romance, but her behaviour right the next day contradicts her words. She knows at which hour the pub opens and she's there as the first customer. Turns out that Clover grew annoyed that Jude wasn't there the evening before and that ended up with him drinking. He's hungover, not very happy when he sees her, demanding answers on where she had been, growing jealous over the fact that she was with her cousin.
Clover calms down after Jude tells him that she wants to spend time with him for the last few days (5 exactly) until she comes back home. Clover sees that it's not a lot of time, but that cheers him up a bit. After getting the pill for the state he's in, Clover notices that Jude's tummy is sticking out and he eagerly starts to tickle her. That ends up with Jude laying on the stage. At the end of tickling she kisses him and that quickly leads to both finding a quiet corner to have some privacy.
After that they get thrown out of the pub and spend the rest of the day until Clover's band's performance at the stairs leading to the pub. They let the people enter and exit, they look at other people passing them by while talking. Jude opens up before him, she tells him about her parents, abut Juliet's probable plans on setting her up for a marriage with a rich guy and about her body insecurity that she has - she sees herself as an unattractive woman because of her chubby figure and how she was never seen as attractive or even good to dance with (this is the moment that she tells Clover he stole her first kiss and desired her as the first guy in her life).
The last topic is brought up because Clover suddenly recalled that dances will be organised and he heard that his band have small chances to play - the other band who also played during them the last year have more chances - and he asks Jude if she would like to be his partner. She tells him that she cannot dance, but Clover is having none of that. They have two days until dances and he's determined to teach her even the basics so she could have some fun.
This moment kinda seals the deal of their romance blooming and this is also how much I have written in chapters. Next things that will happen are:
dance lessons that will take place at Kevin's place
dances
the day of Jude leaving - a promise will take place here
Clover's and Jude's different paths in life - Jude still sees Clover here and there because of Stray Cats popularity and Clover still remembers Jude despite his new lifestyle
a few years skip after which Clover is keen on searching for Jude, cursing one friend who literally predicted that he won't be able to forget the well behaved lady
the two finding each other and getting together
Like I said, 2 to 3 chapters and an epilogue and the story should be done. I just want to know if anyone would be interested in reading it besides the bestie mentioned earlier. I think of posting it on tumblr if I decide to do so, but I have to put two small warnings here:
the translation will take a while - it's a time consuming and a hard work to do
I still need to finish the story, reread it to check for some plot holes, watch the movie again and see if I got everything narrowed to a T - it still won't be a fic that will be as detailed as "His Sweet Candy", I started writing this one for fun and I intend to keep it that way
So if you're interested, please let me know! Heart, comment, reblog, anything will do. I just want to know if there are any readers that will look forward to this one 💜

The Weirdo On Maple Street
After running into the small girl in the woods, the group had collectively decided to bring her back with them to the Wheeler’s house, where they were now all gathered together in the basement. The boys and Catherine stood by the coffee table in front of the couch, staring at the mysterious girl, who in turn stared up at them in fear. “Is there a number we can call for your parents?” Mike asked the girl, breaking the silence between the group.
"Where's your hair?" Dustin questioned her, confused as to why her hair was buzzed. "Do you have cancer?"
Catherine hit his arm. "You can't just ask people that, dude." She scolded, pulling the blanket closer around her shoulders.
"Did you run away?" Lucas queried.
"Are you in some kind of trouble?" Mike spoke again.
“Is that blood?” Lucas inquired, pointing at the stain on her shirt that was poking out from under the coat she had borrowed from Mike.
"Stop it! You're freaking her out!" The Wheeler boy exclaimed.
"She's freaking me out!" Lucas retorted.
"Shut up! All of you!" Catherine pushed them away from the frightened girl. "You're all scaring her." Cat knelt down in front of her. "Hey, sweetie." She smiled softly at the girl. "My name's Catherine, or you can call me Cat for short." She received a small smile from the girl in response. "Now, I know you're scared. But we aren't going to hurt you. We just want to help you. Okay?" The girl nodded slightly, beginning to feel like she could trust the older girl. "Now, I bet you're cold." Catherine turned to Mike. "Do you have any spare clothes."
Mike nodded his head, moving to grab a spare jumper and a pair of sweatpants from the basket of clean laundry. He handed them to Cat, the older girl passing them gently to the quiet girl sat in front of her. "Here you go, sweetie. These will keep you warm. You wanna go put them on?" The older girl slowly reached out a hand to which the younger girl hesitantly took.
Catherine stood up from her kneeling position on the floor, gently pulling the younger girl with her. The quiet girl took off the jacket she had borrowed and followed the older girl to the bathroom. "You can get changed in here, okay?" The girl frowned, slightly confused. "It's called privacy, okay?" Catherine went to close the door but was suddenly stopped as the small girl grabbed the door. "You don't want me to close the door?" The girl let out a quiet 'no' and Catherine heard one of the boys say, 'so she can speak' from behind her. "Okay. Well, how about I close it, just not all the way so it's still technically open?" Catherine said, her actions mimicking her words. "Is that better, sweetie?"
"Yes." The younger girl gave her a small smile.
Catherine returned the smile. "I'll just be outside if you need me." She turned back to the boys just as Dustin exclaimed, "this is mental!"
"At least she can talk." Mike pointed out.
"She said 'no' and 'yes'." Lucas interjected. "Your three-year old sister says more."
"Guys. Shut up. She's scared. She's not gonna want to talk to some strangers who found her in the woods." Cat told them, picking up a spare towel from the basket of clean laundry. She wrapped it around the ends of her hair, attempting to dry it.
"There's something seriously wrong with her." Lucas said to them, ignoring Catherine who just sighed and hoped that the girl wasn't listening to the boys' conversation. "Like, wrong in the head." Lucas pointed to his own head to make it clear to others what he meant. "I bet she escaped from Pennhurst."
"From where?" Mike asked.
"The nuthouse in Kerley County." Lucas explained.
"You got a lot of family there?" Dustin joked as Cat rolled her eyes.
"Bite me." Lucas snapped. "Seriously though, think about it."
"Think about what, Sinclair?" Catherine asked from where she stood leaning against the stairs, arms folded across her chest.
"That would explain her shaved hair and why she's so crazy."
"She's not crazy. You're just being rude." Cat snapped at him, running her fingers through her damp hair.
Lucas ignored her words. "She's an escapee is the point. She's probably a psycho."
"Like Michael Myers." Dustin interjected.
"Exactly!" Lucas agreed, pointing a finger at the boy. "We should've never brought her here."
"So, you just wanted to leave her out in that storm?" Mike asked.
Catherine stepped closer to the boys. "It's probably safer for her to be here than it is for her to be alone out there." She argued at them, waving her arms around in frustration.
"We went to find Will, not another problem."
"I think we should tell your mom." Dustin said to Mike.
"I second that." Lucas agreed as they all turned to Cat to see what she thought they should do.
“You know I’m gonna tell you that at least one of you should tell a parent. That way we can make sure that this poor girl is safe.” Cat spoke with a sigh. “But I know you guys too well to know you’re not gonna take my advice.”
“Lucas, that’s crazy!” Mike exclaimed, turning towards his friend.
"How is that crazy?" Lucas argued.
"’Cause, we weren't supposed to be out tonight, remember?"
Catherine started at the new information. “Excuse me?!” She turned sharply towards them, pushing herself off the wall where she had been leaning. She took in a deep breath, trying to not yell at the boys. They had been reckless, yes. But they were only trying to help find their best friend. Catherine had to remind herself of that.
The boys looked at her sheepishly, knowing the older girl was not impressed. “I cannot believe you kids!” She exclaimed, finding herself at a loss for words. “I know that you’re trying to help. I get it. But you can’t put your own lives at risk.” She reached down, picking up her backpack and slinging it onto her back. “I swear to God, if I you kids do anything like this again, I will personally ground you myself. Got it?” Cat asked, looking at each of the three boys.
“We just wanna find Will.” Dustin told her, his voice quiet.
Cat’s face fell as she looked at her brother. “I know. I know. Just… Just maybe talk to me first. Okay?” She paused, eyes flickering over to where the young girl stood just behind the bathroom door. “I’m gonna go home, I’ve got a test in the morning I still haven’t studied for. Dusty, make sure you call before you come home, and I’ll meet you.” He nodded his head, watching as Cat left through the basement door.
***
The next morning Catherine had cycled to school on her bike, not wanting to bother Jonathan by asking for a lift. She walked down the halls of Hawkins' High School next to Barb who was reading Nancy's flashcards aloud to help them prepare for their upcoming test. Cat huffed out a frustrated sigh as she rushed to catch up with her friends, knowing full well she was going to fail the test. Being out with her younger brother and his friends as they looked for Will had left her with no time to go through her science notes. It didn’t help that once she was home, she had laid awake all night worrying about the safety of the younger boy.
"When alpha particles go through gold foil, they become..." Barb prompted, reading off one of the revision cards
Catherine shrugged. "I honestly can’t remember.” She answered honestly.
"They become unoccupied space." Nancy spoke, answering correctly.
Barb nodded her head and began to read the next card. "A molecule that can-" She was cut off by Steve Harrington snatching the cards out of her hands, his two friends Tommy and Carol right behind him.
"Hey!" Nancy called out to him, reaching her hands out in attempt to retrieve the revision notes.
"I don't know. I think you've studied enough, Nance." He replied, shrugging his shoulders as he flicked through the cards.
“Well, I haven’t, Harrington. So, give them back.” Cat snapped, moving to grab the cards from the boy’s hands. As she did so, Tommy stepped forward and shoved her away, Cat tripping over her feet and stumbling backwards into Nancy and Barb.
"Steve-" Nancy tried, helping her friend stabilise her footing.
“I’m telling you, you know, you got this.” Steve spoke, shaking his head slightly at her. “You too Henderson, you doubt yourself too much.”
Cat scoffed at him, taken aback by the words coming out of his mouth. To go from not talking to her properly in years, to giving her something that could almost pass as a compliment caught her off guard. “Thanks.” She mumbled, making sure to roll her eyes.
“Now, on to more important matter.” Cat raised an eyebrow at Steve, wondering what he could deem so important to interrupt their mini studying session. "My dad has left town on a conference and my mom's gone with him, 'cause, you know, she doesn't trust him."
"Good call." Tommy interjected with a laugh. Cat couldn’t help but roll her eyes again. She was desperate to step away from the conversation, but Steve still had hold of the revision notes and she didn’t want to leave without either of her friends.
"So, are you in?" Steve asked, looking only at Nancy.
"In for what?" She asked, not quite understanding what the others were getting at.
"No parents? Big house?" Carol vaguely explained.
"A party?" Nancy guessed.
"Ding, ding, ding!" Carol said as Tommy laughed.
"It's Tuesday." Nancy pointed out.
"It's Tuesday!" Tommy mocked her and Cat had to stop herself from punching the boy in the face, as the others laughed.
"Come on" Steve said, lightly tapping her arm. "It'll be low key. It'll just be us." He tried to convince his girlfriend to come along to his party. "What do you say? Are you in or are you out?"
"Um..." Nancy trailed off, unsure of her answer.
"Oh, God. Look." Carol said, looking past Cat at someone at the end of the hall. The group turned around to see Jonathan hanging a missing poster on the noticeboard.
"Oh, God, that's depressing." Catherine rolled her eyes at Steve, not believing how he could be so rude. Barb grabbed her arm, stopping her in case she decided to punch Steve in his pretty face.
"Should we say something?" Nancy asked the group.
"I don't think he speaks." Carol told her, disgust laced in her voice.
"How much you want to bet he killed him?" Tommy laughed.
Barb looked down at her friend to see her seething with anger. "Don't." She whispered softly, sensing that her friend was going to cause a fight. Cat shook her head in anger, handing her books to Barb.
"What's wrong with you Henderson?" Tommy asked her. "You got something wrong with you or something?"
"Yeah. You." She stepped forward, ignoring Barb's warnings and punched Tommy in the face. She continued to punch the boy while she yelled at him. "You don't think for once that maybe, just maybe, what you say isn't at all funny and that maybe you're just a complete asshole." She stopped punching him for a second, having him pinned up against the wall. She was breathing heavily, not believing that she had just stood up to the guy that had endlessly bullied her for years.
Tommy laughed in her face. "Wow, you're psycho. You're an absolute psycho." Cat pulled back her fist, ready to punch him again, when a hand wrapped around her waist pulling her away from the boy. Her mind barely registered that it was Steve Harrington who was the one to wrap an arm around her and pull her away from the boy everyone was certain she was going to end up killing.
Still seething with anger, Cat shook herself out of Steve’s grip and grabbed her books back from Barb. Storming away from the group, she held up her middle finger over shoulder in Tommy’s direction. “Get fucked, Tommy!” She shouted, passing by Nancy and Jonathan who were having their own small conversation in front of the notice board.
Steve couldn’t help but stare at his ex-best friend as she walked away, shocked at how much she’d changed since the last time they properly spoken. “You’re invited to my party too, Henderson.” He called after her without thinking.
“Dude, what?” Tommy hit his arm. “You’re inviting that psycho freak?”
“She’s Nancy’s friend. She’d probably be there anyway, man.” Steve answered, covering up the real reason he’d invited the girl. The truth was that until now, he hadn’t realised how he’d missed having her around. And now that he was going out with Nancy, one of Cat’s best friends, there was more opportunity to try and get her back into his life.
Cat shook her head at his words, turning the corner into the next corridor. The bell rang, signalling that she would be late to her chemistry test, but she’d rather be late than walk alongside next to Carol and Tommy. Besides, she needed the longer route to clear her head.
***
That evening, Cat found herself back at the Wheeler’s house where Nancy had dragged her to get ready for Steve’s party. Before she could even step foot into Nancy’s room, she was pulled away by her brother while the boys muttered something about D&D and babysitting. Catherine shrugged her shoulders in her friend’s direction, not understanding what the kids wanted. “Tell you what, I’ll give Barb another ring.” Nancy told her. “See if she’ll be up to driving us to the… the special assembly.” She chose her words carefully, not wanting to reveal their true plans for the evening in front of her younger brother. Cat nodded her head, unable to get out a verbal response before Mike hurried the group into his room, making sure to close the door.
"Are you out of your mind?" Lucas blurted out, the group turning to face the sight of the small girl from the previous evening sitting cross-legged on Mike’s bed.
"Just listen to me." Mike replied, trying to keep his friend calm.
"You are out of your mind!" Lucas responded, clearly irritated. Cat sent a comforting smile at the girl who sent the older girl a quick but small smile in response. She wanted the girl to be able to feel safe as it was obvious how scared she was.
"She knows about Will." Mike's statement caused Cat to whip her head in his direction, her eyes widening.
“Excuse me?”
"What do you mean she knows about Will?" Dustin asked, turning his gaze from the girl to Mike.
Mike went over to the table near the door, picking up a picture of all four of the boys with their science fair trophy. He held it up in front of the others so they could see it clearly. "She pointed at him, at his picture." He explained to them. "She knew he was missing. I could tell."
"You could tell?" Lucas questioned, not quite believing his friend.
"Just think about it." Mike began. "Do you really think it was a coincidence that we found her on Mirkwood, the same place where Will disappeared?"
Cat raised an eyebrow, glancing over at the quiet girl. Was it a coincidence? She still wasn’t sure why she was a part of all this.
"That is weird." Dustin agreed as he and Lucas shared a look.
"And she said that bad people are after her."
Cat's eyes widened again. "No wonder she's terrified if she's got bad people after her." She took a seat on Mike's bed next to the girl and gently rubbed her back, but not before checking that the young girl was okay with the physical contact.
"I think maybe these bad people are the same ones that took Will." Mike explained to them. Catherine shook her head slightly, trying to push down the guilt she had for not cycling Will home. "I think she knows what happened to him." Mike added.
"Then why doesn't she tell us?" Lucas asked, his arms crossed over his chest. They were silent for a moment as they all looked at the girl sat next to Catherine. Lucas took a few steps forward until he was right in front of her. "Do you know where he is?" Lucas snapped, clearly frightening the girl, who moved closer into Cat’s side. The boy suddenly grabbed her shoulders loudly repeating his question. Catherine let out a gasp, prying Lucas's hands off of the young girl. She stood up and pulled Lucas a few step away from the girl and scolded him for scaring the frightened girl. As she did this, Mike yelled at Lucas to stop, stating that he was scaring the girl.
"She should be scared!" He yelled back as Cat walked back over to the girl and slowly pulled her in for a hug, trying to not scare her any more than she already was. "If you know where he is, tell us!" The young girl stared up at Lucas from over Cat's shoulder.
Cat, who was knelt in front of the young girl turned to Lucas. "She's not going to tell you anything if you're scaring her. I thought you were smart, Sinclair." Cat scoffed, turning back to the young girl. The young girl sat in silence, wrapping her arms around Cat's neck.
Lucas walked back over to Mike and Dustin. "This is nuts. We have to take her to your mom."
"No!" Mike responded, his voice just as loud and defensive as Lucas'. "Eleven said telling any adult would put us in danger." Cat raised her eyebrows yet again at the mention of what appeared to be the young girl’s name.
"What kind of danger?" Dustin asked as Lucas questioned, "Her name is Eleven?"
"El for short."
"Mike," Cat turned her body away from Eleven for a moment, worry lacing her words. "You said telling anyone else would put us in danger. What kind of danger?"
"Danger danger." Mike snapped and Cat ran her spare hand through her hair. It wasn't a very helpful answer. Mike moved his hands to Dustin's forehead, his fingers imitating a gun before moving his hand towards Lucas, who slapped the boy's arm away.
"No, no, no!" Lucas yelled as Catherine's face contorted into one of worry. She cared deeply for the kids and would do anything to keep them safe. "We're going back to plan A. We're telling your mom." The boy made his way to the door as Cat stood up from where she had been kneeling on the floor. As he opened the door it closed. He did this a couple of times, each time he opened the door it shut, leaving the boys and Catherine confused as to what was going on. They watched as the door locked itself. All three boys turned to Eleven and Cat turned to the girl too, her eyes glancing down at the blood leaking from the girl's nose.
Eleven stood up from the bed, moving to stand next to Cat as she simply told the boys, "No."
***
The two girls sat round at the dinner table, as did the boys. Cat was sat in between Nancy and Mike as Dustin sat at the end of the table between Mike and Lucas who was next to Mr. Wheeler. Mrs. Wheeler was sat next to him with little Holly between her and Nancy. The group were quiet as they played around with the food on their plates. Karen noticed that the children and two teens had barely touched their food. "Something wrong with the meatloaf?" She asked.
Cat looked up at the lady and smiled politely. "No, no. It's lovely Mrs. Wheeler. I'm just not that hungry." She had eaten very little of her food, having barely eaten a quarter of the food that sat in front of her. Normally she had a healthy appetite, but her guilt over Will’s disappearance had begun to affect it. She couldn’t eat as much as normal.
"Oh, no, I had two bologna sandwiches for lunch." Dustin told Karen Wheeler. "I don't know why."
Lucas let out a small chuckle. "Me, too."
"It's delicious, Mom." Nancy smiled at her.
"Thank you, sweetie." Karen smiled at her eldest daughter.
"So, there's this... special assembly thing tonight..." Nancy began. "For Will at the school field. Barb's driving."
"Why am I just hearing about this?" Karen asked her.
Nancy's eyes widened. "I thought you knew."
"I told you, I don't want you out after dark until Will is found."
"I know, I know, but it'd be super weird if I'm not there, but Catherine is." Nancy told her mother. "I mean, everyone's going." Karen looked over at Catherine to see if what Nancy was saying was true as Cat just nodded her head silently.
Karen let out a sigh. "Just... be back by 10:00." Karen told her, not liking the idea of her daughter going out late with everything that was going on. Nancy nodded going back to her meatloaf. "Why don't you and Cat take the boys too?" Mrs. Wheeler suggested to the two teens.
At that all three boys looked up from their plates as they collectively disagreed. Karen had a confused look on her face as the two teens stared sharply at the boys. "Don't you think you should be there?" Karen asked them. "For Will?"
Mike suddenly choked on the glass of milk he was drinking, and Cat shot him a weird look from across the table. Karen went to look at where Mike's eyes were staring when Dustin banged his hands on the table causing the older woman to jump in her seat, letting out a gasp at the sudden noise. Cat looked past both Nancy and Mrs. Wheeler to see Eleven walking down the stairs, everything clicking inside her head. The boys were creating a diversion so El wasn’t discovered.
"Sorry." Dustin apologised. "Spasm."
Holly started whimpering in her high chair and Karen let out a small 'oh' turning to attend to her youngest child. "It's okay, Holly. It's just a loud noise."
***
After getting changed into what Nancy deemed as more appropriate party clothing, hidden under their jackets so that Karen wouldn’t sus out their real plan for the evening, they found themselves in Barbara’s car driving down the road towards Steve’s house. Barb, of course, was in the driver’s seat with Nancy next to her in the passenger seat. Cat sat behind them, gaze fixed on the passing trees as she fiddled with the hem of her ‘Bon Jovi’ t-shirt. Truth be told, she didn’t want to be spending her evening at Steve’s and surrounded by people she wasn’t fond of, even if it meant Steve was putting in the effort to talk to her now. She’d rather be using her evening to help look for Will with the rest of the town.
"Barbara, pull over." Nancy's voice grabbed Cat's attention and she pulled her gaze away from the window, now directing it instead to the two girls sat in front of her.
"What?" Barb asked her, confused.
"Pull over!"
Barb pulled the car over as Nancy had said. "What are we doing here?" The redhead asked. "His house is three blocks away."
"We can't park in the driveway." Nancy stated, as if the information was obvious.
"Are you serious?"
"Yeah, the neighbours might see." Nancy responded.
"So?" Cat asked her, furrowing her eyebrows as she leaned forward in her seat. "I'm not walking three blocks. Do I need to remind you that it's dark out? It’s not exactly safe right now.”
"This is so stupid." Barb spoke, nodding her head in agreement with Catherine. "I'm just gonna drop you two off."
"Calm down, Barb. Come on." Nancy reached into her bag, putting away the lipstick she had just put on. "You promised that you'd go. You're coming." Catherine rolled her eyes at her friend. "We're gonna have a great time."
"Okay, sure." Cat mumbled sarcastically.
"He just wants to get in your pants." Barb argued. And as much as Cat didn't want to think about that being true, she nodded her head in agreement, because it was true. This was Steve Harrington of all people. Of course, that was the reason as to why he'd invited Nancy over when his parents were away.
Nancy chuckled. "No, he doesn't."
"Nance... seriously." Barb tried. "He invited you to his house. His parents aren't home." Nancy simply just looked at her, not believing what her friend was saying. "Come on, you are not this stupid."
"Tommy H. and Carol are gonna be there." Nancy said as if that meant anything.
"Tommy and Carol have been having sex since, like, seventh grade." Barb pointed out, shaking her head. "It'll probably just be, like, a big orgy." The three girls in the car chuckled at Barb’s statement.
"Gross." Nancy shook her head, undoing her seatbelt.
"I'm serious!"
"All right, well..." Nancy started pulling her jumper off over her head. "You and Cat can be like, my guardians. All right?" Cat sighed. She did not want to be responsible for another person her age. She could deal with being responsible for the boys but having to look out for Nancy? She wasn't sure she'd enjoy that. And it definitely wouldn’t make the evening fun, not that she was expecting it to be if she had to hang out with Tommy and Carol. "Make sure I don't get drunk and do anything stupid."  Nancy added, taking out another top from her bag and placing it on her lap.
"I'm not a goody-toe shoes, Nance." Cat pointed out. "How can I make sure you don't do something stupid when I'm likely to have a drink or two? And I definitely need one after the week we’re having.”
"Is that a new bra?" Barb questioned, glancing at Nancy as she pulled on her new top.
"No." Nancy denied, face flushing slightly as she lied.
***
The three girls walked up to the massive doors that marked the entrance to the house of Steve Harrington. Cat slid her hands in the pockets of her jeans to stop them from twitching due to her nerves. She hadn't visited the Harrington household in quite a few years, though she could still remember the layout of the building. Music could be heard from inside the house, although it was too faint for Catherine to be able to make out what it specifically was. Nancy and Cat stood either side of Barb as the former girl reached forward to ring the bell. They waited for about a minute or two before the big red doors swung open, revealing Steve Harrington himself.
The boy smiled at the girls and stood with one hand holding onto the door and the other on his hip. "Hello, ladies."
Cat smiled politely at Steve as he glanced over each of the girls, eyes landing on Cat’s shirt. “Loving the top, Henderson.” He grinned.
“Thanks.” She mumbled, face flushing at the attention he was giving her. It felt strange, having Steve talk to her as if he hadn’t ditched their friendship two years prior. Steve stepped to the side, allowing the girls to enter his house.
They walked through to the pool, greeted by the sight of Tommy trying to throw Carol into the water. The girl was shrieking, and Cat couldn’t help but cringe at the sound. The three newcomers to the party sat down on chairs around the pool, Cat sitting in the one next to Barb. The girl watched as Steve sliced a can of beer open and started drinking from it. Cat looked over at Barb, the two sharing an unimpressed look at the boy’s actions. Steve exhaled, sitting down in the chair next to Nancy who asked, "Is that supposed to impress me?"
Steve placed a cigarette between his lips, and Cat sighed as she realised, she’d left her own packet back at home. They were good for easing her nerves, and if there was ever a time, she needed to calm them, it was now. "You're not?" Steve asked, shrugging his shoulders at Nancy.
"You are a cliché, you do realize that?" Nancy told her boyfriend.
"You are a cliché." Steve responded, lighting his cigarette. "What with your... your grades and your band practice."
Nancy laughed, "I'm so not in band."
"Okay, party girl. Why don't you just, uh, show us how it's done, then?" Steve handed her a can of beer and a pocket knife to slice it open with. Both of her friends rolled their eyes and while Nancy was chugging the drink, Cat leaned over the girl's seat and snatched both a cigarette and the lighter from the table next to where Steve had been sat. Her hands were shaking a tad as she brought the object to her mouth and lit it, burning her hand slightly in the process. She let out a small wince, throwing the lighter back onto the table as she took a drag of the cigarette. As she breathed out a cloud of smoke, her nerves beginning to calm down little by little, she watched on as Nancy finished the drink with a laugh, chucking the empty can onto the ground at her feet.
"Barb, you wanna try?" Nancy asked the redhead, who sat in her chair looking and feeling bored.
She raised her eyebrows at the girl. "What? No." Nancy walked over and grabbed a can from beside Cat. "No, I don't want to. Thanks."
"Come on." Nancy spoke, trying to persuade her friend to try.
"Yeah..." Steve also tried to convince Barbara. "Come on. Yeah."
"Nance, I don't want to." Barb told her friend firmly.
"It's fun! Just give it a-"
Barb cut her off. "Nance..." She trailed off as Nancy handed her the beer.
"Just... Just give it a shot."
Barbara took the can from Nancy. Cat sighed, letting some more smoke pour out her mouth. "You don't have to if you don't want to." She told her best friend, irritated at Nancy for trying to force their friend into doing something she clearly didn't want to do.
"No, it's okay." Barb held Cat's arm for a moment, trying to reassure the worried girl that she'd be fine, before standing up from her seat. She held the can in her left hand, bringing the knife down. However, her hand slipped and instead of the knife piercing a hole in the beer can, it sliced a fairly deep cut down her thumb. Catherine stood up immediately, throwing her cigarette on the ground and stomping it out, before grabbing the beer can and knife from her friend and throwing them onto the chair behind her. She pulled Barb's hand closer to her so she could inspect the wound, making sure it wasn’t as bad as it seemed.
"Gnarly." Tommy commented with a snicker. Cat ignored him, pulling her flannel sleeve over her hand and pressing it to her friend's wound.
"Are you okay?" Nancy asked, taking a few steps towards the two girls. Cat lifted her flannel from the wound, wiping the blood from her friend's hand with her sleeve. "Barb, you're bleeding."
"No shit, Nancy." Cat snapped, annoyed at her for peer pressuring Barb. She was here to forget her problems, not have more thrown at her.
"I'm fine." Barb insisted before turning to Steve. "Where's your bathroom?"
Steve stood up from his seat, pointing towards his house. "Oh, it's... It's, uh, down past the kitchen, to the left."
"Okay. Thanks." Barb told him, turning away from the group and heading inside. Cat quickly followed after her, worried.
"Hey, hey. Barb?" She placed a hand on her shoulder. "Do... do you want me to come with you?" The redhead shook her head and continued to the bathroom, leaving the shorter brown haired girl alone in the hallway, feeling horrible for what happened. She walked back outside, stealing another cigarette from the packet on the table and grabbed the lighter, lighting it. Her hand was still hurting from where she burnt it slightly, but she didn't have the energy to care.
Shoving one hand in her pocket, the other one held the cigarette while she took a drag. Turning away from the group, she let the cloud of smoke escape her lips as she began making her back towards the house.
"Oi, Henderson!" Steve called out, grabbing the girl's attention. "Where are you going?"
Cat glanced over her shoulder as she reached the garden door, placing Steve’s lighter on the side table. “Home.” She shouted back to him, shutting the door just as Tommy loudly called her a collection of awful names for leaving the party early, and without even having a drink.
She sat on the front door step for a while, waiting for Barb to finish up in the bathroom. But when the girl didn’t appear after several minutes, Cat decided she was better off walking home, though not before stealing a couple of bottles of booze from Steve’s kitchen.

Chapter Two
“The Weirdo on Maple Street”
Steve Harrington x OC
Nighttime wasn’t always unsettling. Sometimes it was just so off-putting that it consumed your entire being with fear, not the type of fear you get from a jump scare, the type of fear that paralyzes you to the core. The type of fear that leaves you terrified even after you are not scared. That type of fear leaves an impression on your body, a scar if you will. There was something about the dark that had comforted me, maybe it was the way it softly embraced your body, hiding you away from the light. As I got older there was an itch that something was out there lurking in the dark no longer hiding me, but hiding something else. The feeling of something watching, gearing up to stalk its prey, never left my body nowadays. Making my way outside into the freezing rain, the water pouring down from the night sky, making it hard to see clearly. Walking to put the trash into the bin was when I heard this low growling coming from the woods. It was loud enough to drown out the sound of the rain and the thunder. Time seemed to stand still and immediately my entire body froze up, every single bone in my body was telling me to run, but I was stuck in place. My feet feel like cement bricks, keeping me captive in the cold rain. My blood ran cold and the thumping of my heart could be heard loud and clear in my ears, every hair on my body stood at attention. Slowly turning my head to glance over my shoulder I am met with the sight of pure darkness. Finally gaining functions of my body, my fingers unclench the trash bag that no doubt has crescent-shaped rips in it.  Without so much as another glance in the direction of the woods I made a beeline for my front door, what I failed to catch was the glimpse of the tall dark shadow lurking just behind a tree. Darkness is willing to hide you away just as easily as it is willing to hide monsters hunting for prey.
Across town at the Wheeler’s house, Mike Dustin and Lucas sit a frazzled soaking wet girl down on the couch in Mike’s basement. The yellow lighting in the basement and the warmth from the heater would be comforting to the standard person but because the three of them are rattling off questions to the girl in an attempt to understand where she is coming from and why her head was shaved. Only frazzles the girl even more, with Lucas reaching forward asking if there is blood on the girl’s shirt and quickly gets his hand slapped away by Mike.
Shooting Lucas an incredulous look shouts at him “Stop! You’re freaking her out!”.
Lucas, looking and feeling just as freaked out, yelled back at Mike with a spasm of hand movements “She’s freaking ME out!”.
Dustin watching Mike and Lucas casually says “She’s probably def.”
The girl jumps back in her seat from hearing the loud noise that Dustin produced by clapping. Mike quickly gets fed up and says “All right that’s enough! She’s just scared and cold.”
Mike turns away from the three and makes his way over to his freshly done laundry grabbing a pair of sweats and a t-shirt. While his back is turned a loud clap of thunder sounds off shaking the house with its volume, causing the girl to quickly close her eyes and tense. Walking back over to the girl he fails to notice it had spooked her, extending his hand out with the clothes he explains that they are clean. The girl rubs her face over the fabric of the t-shirt before shrugging off the sopping wet coat she was given when she was found in the woods. She rises to her feet to get changed when all of sudden the boys start yelling, frightening her, which halts her movements.
Mike reaches forward and grabs her wrist pointing to the side of the basement explaining “See over there, that’s the bathroom. You get changed in there. Privacy.”
Mike gently glides the girl over to the bathroom, the latter looking around and inspecting the place as if she had never seen anything like this before. Hesitantly walking into the bathroom, Mike reaches to close the door to give her some privacy, when suddenly a hand shoots forward and stops him from closing it all the way.
Mike’s brows furrowed in confusion, saying “You don’t want this closed?”
The girl looks at him for second processing what he was saying before responding in a soft, but firm voice “No.”
Mike, clearly shocked that she spoke, says “Oh! So you can speak! Well, how about we just keep the door ajar?”
Slowly inching the door closed so it is ajar, the girl softly whispers “Yes”.
Mike nods his head at her, giving her the go-ahead to get changed. Mike makes his way back to the others to inform them of what just happened. The three boys converse heatedly back and forth trying to come up with a plan about what to do with the random girl they found out in the woods. Lucas mentions to Mike that he should tell his mom about her.
Mike, exasperated, explains to Lucas and Dustin “We weren’t supposed to be out tonight guys! So if I tell my mom, she tells your mom and your mom..”
Lucas quickly catching on to what Mike is saying cuts him off “Our houses become like Alcatraz.”
Dustin gives a pointed look to both Mike and Lucas, Mike says “Exactly. Then we will never find Will.”
Quickly brainstorming a plan Mike tells the two boys that the girl will stay the night in his basement and the morning she will sneak upstairs out the door and then ring the doorbell so his mom will answer. Mrs. Wheeler can then help the girl and get her back to where she came from. They will be in the clear with the foolproof plan and be on the search for will again the following night. Lucas and Dustin, agreeing with the plan, make their way up the worn stairs to leave but stop halfway looking over at Mike giving the girl a sleeping bag and a pillow to make her comfortable.
Dustin looks up at Lucas and says “Do you think she’s psycho?”
Lucas looking at Mike and the girl with a displeased look on his face says “Wouldn’t want her in my house.”
Both boys retreat up the steps to make their trek home. Mike fluffing a pillow to hand over to the girl looks at her before finally remembering his manners and says “hey, I never asked your name.”
The girl looks away from the pillow she just placed and looks down at her arm contemplating telling him before pulling her sleeve up to show him the permanent etching of the number 11 on her arm. He without thinking goes to reach forward to touch it, but she quickly retracts her arm away from him shielding it to her body with a look of fear flashing across her face.
Mike quickly catches his mistake, apologizing before saying “What does eleven mean? Is that your name?”
She nods her head yes while pointing to herself. Mike, smiling a bit, nods before saying “Okay well my name is Mike, short for Michael. Maybe we can call you El, short for Eleven.”
El nodded, while Mike started to get up from the ground while saying “Okay well, night El.” Leaving her alone to rest for the night.
The storm raged on till the early hours of the morning, but when the thunder went calmly and the rain ceased falling from the sky, sleep was escaping me. The chirping of birds could be heard from outside, the soft breeze making the leaves rustle with the wind. The sun warms the ground, drying the leftover water from the storm. A cold sweat coating my body, thrashing about in my bed the dreamscape I was in, was littered with flashes of red, a cold desolate landscape. The sounds of a little boy singing softly to himself and then of a woman’s anguished scream followed by a roar are what woke me. Shooting up in my bed gasping for air, I whip my head back and forth trying to recognize my surroundings. The soft sheets under my fingertips and the weight of my blanket covering my legs grounds me. Trying to remind myself it was just a dream and I was in the comfort of my bed. The tips of my fingers that are grasping my blanket are emitting a soft hue of red wisps. Too shaken up to notice this, I finally catch my breath leaning forward and letting my hair become a curtain around my face. Reaching up to rub my face I notice the-wisps, turning my hand to look at the back of it, the red wisps hovering slightly in between my fingers gently embracing them giving me comfort. Getting the energy to move was rough, I just wanted to lay back in bed and forget this day even happened. My mind was plagued with thoughts of who was that little boy? Who’s scream was that? And most importantly what let out the roar?
Shifting out of bed, I made my way out of my room and into the bathroom. The tiles are cold against my feet, sending a shiver up my back, gripping the sink to steady myself. I look up into the mirror. The girl looking back at me has pale blue eyes, in certain lighting, they look gray. My dull blonde hair is hanging loosely around my face, and my lips are bright red from being chewed raw from anxiety. Focusing back in on my eyes, I see the faintest flash of red contrasting against the pale blue. My powers are getting harder to control, whatever is going on in Hawkins is making it difficult for me to keep them at bay. Sighing softly I tie my hair back with my black scrunchie before splashing cold water on my face to rid myself of the side effects of my dream.
Deciding not to go to school today was the best thing I ever decided to do, the headache that was just a dull pain in the back of my head turned into a fully-fledged migraine with the progression of the day. Sleeping on and off was somewhat helpful. Huddled under the blankets with my eyes closed, the throbbing in my head was getting unbearable, deciding to get up to get the medicine I let out a painful whine. Squinting my eyes to see better, I made my way down the stairs, the soft light coming from the living room started flickering violently. The sudden fear that crept up on my back was making it hard to focus, with a subconscious twitch of my fingers letting the red wisps start to show. Slowly walking into the living room, the air got colder the closer I got to the light. Squinting my eyes as the light got brighter and brighter, cutting out all of a sudden. With a sharp inhale I quickly spun around behind me letting the red hue light the surroundings around me. My headache suddenly vanished and a voice whispered “Run”, without a second thought I bolted out of my house letting the remainder of the red hue that was coating my fingers in the dust behind me. Running down the sidewalk I am suddenly struck with even more terror when all of a sudden I hear a woman’s scream, the same one I heard the night before in my dream.

I was originally going to pause posting this week due to having come down with the flu, but I've decided instead to post one (1) character profile of one of my Fallout OCs. I'm going to start with my Canadian Maple Syrup Cartel ghoul trader, Maple Mike.
I really need to commission someone to draw him... actually, I need someone to draw all of the Fallout OCs.

Tumblr media
November 7th 1983.
SITTING AROUND THE BREAKFAST TABLE, Marianne distractingly poking at her breakfast, watching Mike rushingly eating his food.
“Shouldn’t you take the time to chew first, Mike?” She had jokingly insisted.
“Slow down, Mike. That’s disgusting.” Nancy had commented as well.
“You do a lot of studying last night?” Mike had sarcastically questioned Nancy, Marianne secretly chuckled, trying to hide her laughs.
Nancy, clearly at a loss for words recalled, “Yeah, actually I did.”
“What was your test on again? Human anatomy?”Mike had assumed only for him to receive a kick under the chair and a shot of a stare from Nancy.
“Hey, what’s going on?” Their mother clearly confused only for all three of them to look at her and mumble in unison, “Nothing!”
Just as the girls were about to get ready to leave for school, the wallphone had begun to ring and wouldn’t stop.
As her mother had answered the landline, she mouthed to Marianne that it was for her, implying that it was indeed James calling.
Marianne immensely sighed, knowing that James had wanted to hang out with her tonight.
And she didn’t want to have to answer, “Just tell him, I’m not here please.” She silently pleaded.
“You know, Marianne, you can’t avoid him for forever, sooner or later, he’ll want an answer.”
Nancy had asserted her opinion, “Yeah, but I chose to wait until later.”
Walking through the hallways of Hawkins High, Marianne had heard an all too-familiar voice call after her as she silently groaned.
“Hey Marianne, do you have any plans tonight?”
James had proposed to the girl. In all honesty, Marianne was quite aware of James’s crush on her but she was just too unsure of where exactly her feelings for him stood whether they were romantic or simply just platonic feelings.
“Um, I’m not sure. I’ll get back to you on that.”
Soon enough, the two were met with their mutual friendship circle along with Marianne’s younger sister, Nancy and her best friend, Barb.
Some of their friends were quite curious on where Marianne stood with this whole thing of her best friend dating her sister but she never really put much thought into it, honestly.
“Oh look, it’s Hawkins’s party girl.” Tommy jokingly teased as Marianne simply rolled her eyes in response.
“Marianne, I’m having a party at my house since my parents are out of town, you in?”
“Of course, I’m in.”
“Oh god, look.” Carol’s satirising voice, points out at the “loner,” Jonathan Byers as her friends nicknamed him, whom is plastering posters of his missing brother on the school bulletin.
Steve commented, “Oh god, that’s depressing.”
Marianne couldn’t help but contain a certain level of guilt in her stomach, she just felt so guilt ridden for him and his family.
She couldn’t imagine what this would be like in her position, of Mike going missing and not knowing whether he’s dead or alive.
As her and her friends continued to watch upon him plastering the posters, Nancy questions to the group, “Should we say something?”
“I don’t think he speaks.” Carol quickly mentions as Marianne blurted out, “I feel so awful. I feel so guilty and this isn’t normally like me!”
“How much you want to bet he killed him?” Tommy commented to insinuate before Steve quickly warned him to shut up.
“You know, Tommy? You’re a real dick at times. Like why don’t you just fuck off?” Marianne had intimidatingly scolded at her friend.
“And yeah, the heartless bitch actually has some heart in her.”
Right as Marianne had declared in her statement, she had decided to walk up to the boy in hopes of offering him at least some comfort.
Noticing Jonathan pining the posters onto the bulletin board, she confronted him, “Hey.”
As the boy looked up noticing his longtime crush in front of him, before he quickly reciprocated, “Hey.”
Marianne glancing at the poster, attempting to find the right words to say.
“I just... I wanted to say you know, um. I’m sorry about everything, Nancy and I couldn’t imagine what that’d be like.” Marianne apologetically explained.
Noticing Jonathan’s eyes distancing from afar only for her to notice that he’s glancing at her friends.
“Everyone’s thinking about you.” The two locking eyesight for a minute. “It sucks.”
“Yeah.” Jonathan had quickly mumbled. “I’m sure he’s fine, he’s a smart kid.” Marianne had attempted to reassure the boy, with the two staring at each other only for the bell to ring.
“Look, I have to go, Chemistry test but good luck and if you need help in posting the posters, I’d be happy to help.”
She declared as Jonathan had given a small smile, “Thanks.”
Returning back to her friends, whom she assumed would begin to start questioning her on what that action had directly meant.
But she figured that she would just shrug all the questions away, claiming that it was just her being a decent human being.
“Marianne, you’re going to come over to my house right? To get ready for the party and then we’ll leave for Steve’s house?”
Carol had entreated but Marianne was lost in her own thoughts, she couldn’t shake the feeling of distraught over Will’s disappearance and was hoping that the party would be the perfect escape of these thoughts.
Please find him, Hopper! I hope he’s alive. If not for my sake, at least for his family’s sake.
Noticing that Marianne was deep into her thoughts, Carol gently nudged her friend, “So, are you going to come over to my house? Or are you just going to sneak out to the party?”
“I doubt my mom would let me come over to your house but I know I’ll find a way to get to Steve’s party without any issues, whatsoever.”
Walking out of the school entrance, Marianne had plastered that smile and look in her eyes that told her closest friends that she had thought of a plan, and Carol quickly caught this. “Your plan is definitely going to fruition into motion.”
Just as she arrived home from a few hours of careless driving around and working at the nearest department store.
Something she had minded since she loved fashion and it was her thing. As she rushed upstairs, she was stopped by her sister. “Marianne, you’re going to the party right?”
Walking past to get to her bedroom while Nancy continued to follow her to her room, putting her things down onto her bed, the girl insisted, “Yeah, of course.”
“Can you take Barb and I too? I want to go and Steve is hoping we’d attend.”
Marianne, lost in thought of a perfect scheme so that she’d be able to go, nodded, “Sure, but we have to think of a lie so mom wouldn’t suspect a thing.”
Just as it had been time for dinner, the girls had the perfect lie of a assembly in dedication to Will, Marianne withheld a mischievous smile on her lips.
Both girls agreeing that the lie would be successful considering, she wouldn’t suspect this from Nancy, mainly Marianne; their mother shouted from the downstairs, “Girls, it’s time for dinner.”
Sitting at the table alongside her family and Mike’s friends, Marianne just was poking at her food, thinking of a good time for them to leave without being suspicious.
“Something wrong with the meatloaf?” Karen noticing the weird atmosphere of awkward distance, “Um, no. I had two bolony sandwiches for lunch. Uh, I don’t know why.” Dustin had convincingly admitted.
“Me too.”
“It’s delicious mommy.” Both girls had complimented their mother’s cooking. “Thank you, sweeties.”
“So there’s this special assembly thing tonight. For Will at the school field, Marianne is driving and Barb is attending along with us.” Nancy had fabricatedly told.
“Yeah, and we kinda promised we’d go.” Marianne quickly added to comment, attempting for her to believe the lie.
“And why am I just hearing about this?” Their mother questioned the girls. “It’s something that the school had just recently announced.” Marianne reassuredly declared.
“We thought you’d knew.” Nancy admittedly mentioned, as Marianne nodded in agreement.
“I told you girls, I don’t want neither of you out after dark until Will is found.”
“We know, we know but it would be super weird if we’re not there. I mean, everyone’s going.” Marianne sneakily proposed, hoping that she’d agree to let them attend.
Receiving the hint that her mother is contemplating the idea to let her daughters attend the party, the girls finally receive an answer.
“Just be back by 10.” With Nancy happy to get to attend the party as they both nodded in unison to their mother’s one rule while Marianne secretly just kept a smug smile on lips that was an expression of the clear triumph.
“I don’t think so, they wouldn’t like it.” Marianne swiftly suggested, hoping that her mother wouldn’t push it as her brother and his friends shook their heads.
“Do you think you should be there for Will?” Mike hesitantly choking on his milk in response.
As Dustin hit his hands on the table, proclaiming as a muscle spasm, the loud noise had echoed and caused her little sister, Holly to be frightened. “Nice.” Nancy mentioned with a tiny bit of annoyance.
“Marianne, I’m surprised that you’re interested in this, you’re not normally into school events let alone attending school.” Her mother questioned as she picked the food up while placing it in her mouth.
“Yeah but Nancy convinced me, and this is a really important school assembly. A poor kid disappeared and I know him.” She had convincingly stated as she focused her eyes on her mother, knowing that if they know it’s a lie if you avoid eye contact.
“Anyway, mom thanks for the dinner but Nancy and I have to get going now.” Marianne proclaiming as Nancy agreed in confirmation.
As the girls put their jackets on and headed out to the car, first to pick up Barb then to head off to the party.
A few minutes of small talk and Marianne blasting the Rolling Stones songs on her cassette player in her car, they arrived at Barb’s house. “Thank you for driving, Marianne.”
Finally, on the road to driving towards Steve’s house, Nancy pleaded, “Marianne, pull over.” Both Marianne and Barb were instantly confused by this. “What?”
“Pull over.” Nancy continued to insist, “What are we doing here? His house is three blocks away.” Barb immediately questioned as Marianne made a quick stop but Marianne knew what she was trying to imply.
“We can’t park in the driveway.” Nancy confirmed with Marianne rolling her eyes in disagreement. “Are you serious?” Barb quizzed, not believing what her best friend was telling her.
“The neighbors might see.” Marianne continued to show her disapproval by shaking her head, trying to ignore the statements.
“Marianne, you’ve been to these parties more than Nancy and I have. Do you believe this?”
“This is so stupid. I simply don’t care if the neighbors see me, I’ve been to too many parties that Steve has held for the neighbors to immediately notice me. I’m just going to drive.”
Marianne initially declared but Nancy immediately stopped her, “Marianne, Barb, come on. You guys promised that you would go and you’re coming, we’re going to have a great time.”
“He just wants to get into your pants. No offense Marianne, I know he’s your best friend and all but-.”
Marianne quickly shushed Barb on her statement, declaring that she knew exactly what she meant and wouldn’t take no offense to it whatsoever.
“No, he doesn’t.” A guilble Nancy insisted, but neither Barb nor Marianne believed her perspective.
“Nance. Seriously, he invited you to his house. His parents aren’t home. Come on you are not this stupid.”
“Tommy H and Carol are all going to be there.” As much as Marianne, wanted to believe what she thought, she couldn’t because she knew the truth.
“Tommy and Carol have been having sex since the 7th grade, it’ll probably be just a big orgy.”
“Gross.” Barb continued to mention how serious she was in this situation, “Marianne, please tell her that she’s in complete denial.”
The heavy awkwardness in response had convinced that she believed Barb more than her own sister which hurt deeply.
“Alright! Well, you can be like my guardian, alright? Make sure, you don’t get drunk and do anything stupid. Marianne and I will be the ones having fun, getting wasted and fooling around.”
Marianne took in no time in scoffing at that statement, as Nancy stared at her in response while she was changing her blouse, both took change in noticing her new bra.
But Nancy just denied their accusation, Marianne sick of staying in the car had declared them to attend the party, “Let’s go now, we can’t be stuck in this car forever now.”
Marianne had led Barb and Nancy to Steve’s house, as she rang the doorbell as the loud music echoed throughout the house.
“Barb, chill.”
“Just take a deep breath and relax, you guys will have fun.” Marianne had tossed some words of encouragement in the act of Barb attempting to calm down her nerves while they waited for Steve to attend to the door to let them inside.
Just when Steve opened the double frontdoor, greeting all three of the girls, “Hello ladies!”
Marianne swiftly smiling to herself just as she walked past him, “Harrington,” Carol immediately noticed her completely intoxicated, “Marian!”
In the process of grabbing some alcohol, she was hovered over by another completely intoxicated person, except this person; she had no wish that would attend, it was James.
Not even needing to look up to his face, she was able to notice his presence and she was already deeply annoyed. “What do you want?”
James instantly huffed and shook his head at her question, she knew he wasn’t the type to accept a no type of answer, “I just wanted to talk to you, to fool around with you is that such a crime?” His voice whispering into her right ear.
Marianne wasn’t the type who’d get heavily intoxicated within just a few drinks, in her dismay however; she rarely got intoxicated, withholding a strong shield of sobriety.
And as much as Marianne liked to fool around with various guys, even girls at times that she felt quite the attraction to but she never enjoyed doing so with James.
She deemed him as quite possessive and jealous crazed, but Carol still felt they’d be a perfect match with how in love he was with her best friend.
And despite the inconvenience these conversations between the two brought her, she had agreed to fool around with him if anything of that as he pulled her arm towards the backyard of Steve’s home where all their shared friends had gone to chat.
While Marianne sat on a beach chair besides Steve, her friends Carol and Tommy were messing around, Tommy was threatened to throw a fully clothed Carol into the pool as he began to count down which caused to scream in retaliation. “Stop! You’re such an asshole.”
“So Marianne, I was thinking, if you wanted to go upstairs to the bedroom to fool around?” James intoxicatingly asked to a drinking but not intoxicated, soberly Marianne. “Maybe, maybe later, if at that.”
Marianne leaving the conversation at an open dead end went up towards Steve preparing to ask him why he invited James when he knows she’s not to fond of him, “Honestly, I told that to Carol but she insisted you’d want him here.
She’s tempted to play matchmaker since she thinks you two would make a perfect match but I don’t think so.”
But all Marianne did was groan in annoyance, thinking of why Steve couldn’t have called her ahead of time and informed her on this.
An apologetic Steve offered her a beer as a peacemaking gift to which she no doubt accepted.
She knew that ultimately, Steve didn’t mean to cause her any type of distress. Hell, he never did since they became best friends since the first day of junior high.
Steve cutting a beer can with pocket knife and swigged it down within seconds in front Nancy, she assumed was something that he’d done in an act to impress her, “Is that supposed to impress me?”
A cigarette in between his lips while sitting down in a beach chair, Steve casually asked, “You’re not?”
An innocent smile risen of Nancy’s face as she commented, “You are a cliche, you do realize that?”
Using his lighter to light up this cigarette, he deemed herself as a cliche, with her goody two shoes traits as he offered her a cigarette as she agreed, “Then, party girl, show us how it’s done.”
“You gotta make a little hole in the bottom,” Steve advised before Nancy quickly asserted she knew.
“Yeah, she’s smart you douche.” Tommy quickly complimented as he and Carol comforted one another.
While Nancy was about to drink a beer, Marianne was busy sitting on the beach chair alongside Steve while pulling out a cigarette as she asked him to borrow his lighter, Nancy was instantly baffled by this action of Marianne’s, “You smoke? Since when?”
Marianne, completely calmed, had simply chuckled with her question, realizing that her family only knows a certain side to her personality, “Since I was a freshman, actually.”
During the time that Nancy had accomplished in opening the beer can with a pocket knife, the gang immediately congratulated her with the temptation of getting her to chug the beer as she did so.
Noticing her friend, she asked Barb if she was wanting to do so but she straight away declined. Unfortunately, that didn’t stop Nancy from pestering her to do so with her friends even doing so, “It’s fun, just give it a shot.”
Enduringly, Barb had finally agreeing as she grabbed the beer can and attempted to cut a whole and chug the beer down but in doing so, Barb had in a fit of hesitation, cut herself and dropping the can of beer in the process.
“Are you okay?” Marianne and Nancy noticing the deep cut on her hand concerningly wondered.
“Gnarly!” Tommy H had gushed with James mentioning him to shut up in response.
Despite how deep the cut was, Barb plastered a facade of claiming she was fine, “Yeah, I’m fine!”
“Barb, you’re bleeding!”
With Nancy and Marianne concerned on her condition of her cut, Barb brushed this off as she called out in need of a bathroom, “Um, where’s your bathroom?” Pointing out towards Steve, who seemingly gave Marianne the image of awfulness.
“It’s uh, down the kitchen, past the-.” Steve had directed her on the directions of the location, Carol was left in a rage of giggles.
Marianne standing towards the pool admiring the sky, Marianne with a cigarette in her mouth, Tommy had pushed Carol into the pool fully clothed as she let out a scream.
Marianne stepping onto her cigarette bud with her sneakers, James immediately took notice of this and was planning to do the same to Marianne herself but unknowingly, Marianne caught this information herself and proceed to threaten him, “If you do this, Gray, I swear to god, I’ll...”
James didn’t hesitate to push her into the pool as well, mentioning that he wasn’t afraid of Marianne whatsoever and was just looking for fun.
A few laughs from their friends as they proceeding to jump into the pull fully clothed as well.
Luckily for James, Marianne didn’t stay annoyed for long and had actually gotten her to crack a smile and a couple of laughs.
In a moment of silliness, James had began to joke around with Marianne, teasing her and threatening her that he’d lift her up and in a second of shared closeness, they had almost kissed but Marianne had begun to back away from himself.
Despite James’s obvious feelings for her, Marianne wasn’t sure if she had reciprocated those feelings, considering she never felt a romantic chemistry with him.
Eventually, they decided to get out. Each of them wrapped around in towels, “I’m freezing.”
Just at the moment when Carol had seen Marianne and James interacting with one another and in her perspective “flirting,” she pointed out, “It looks like you two were having a fun time together.”
Marianne clearly understanding her claim of events, instantly denied, “Say what you want but nothing happened or is going to happen between us, Carol.” But deep down, she knew Carol wouldn’t quit it.
“Hmmm...well, I hear his mom’s room has a fireplace.” Tommy implied as he leads himself and Carol to Steve’s mother’s bedroom, leaving only Marianne, James, Steve and Nancy with one another.
“Are you kidding? Okay, well, you know, you are cleaning the sheets.”
Both Steve and Marianne aware of what they’re implying look at one another with a look of disgust.
James had continued to pull Marianne’s arm in the heat of moment between Steve and Nancy, “Hey Steve, we’re going to go to your room to change...and possibly other things.”
Steve shook his head out of amusement at the fact that James believed Marianne would hook up with him.
Reaching Steve’s bedroom, Marianne had proceeded to remove her soaken wet clothes in front of the window, leaving her in her bra and underwear.
Thinking of this as a perfect opportunity to begin hooking up, he began to leave kisses on her neck, but unfortunately for James, Nancy and Steve had interrupted their make out session.
A sense of relief washing over Marianne’s face and despite Nancy’s apologies, she whispered to Steve, “Thsnk you!”
As distracted as she was, Marianne was still left in her bra and underwear and so was Nancy, feeling the need of privacy, they asked, “Um, some privacy, maybe?”
Both mentioned for one another, leaving both Steve and James to respect their request and head off somewhere else to change, “Oh...Yeah, right. Sorry.”
“Steve?”
“Damn.” Just when asked to leave the room, Steve and James turn around as Nancy calls for him before she asks him to shut up while they embrace in his bedroom alongside Marianne and James doing so by his window after she had mentioned him to do so.
“We’re uh-we’re going to go. Um, Steve, would you mind taking Nancy home? Nancy please tell mom that I’ll be home soon.”
Marianne quickly assured as James grabs her hand while they quickly leave together doing god knows what with one another.

// Prologue // Previous Chapter // Next Chapter //
———————————————————————————————————–
Circe woke up with a groan, a hand immediately coming up to cover her eyes from the burning light that came through her curtains, every morning she seemed to realise how much she loathed the LA sun, especially when she woke up with a headache, a stuffy nose and a body both naked and sore. She removed her companion's arm from where it was lying on her stomach as she made up her mind to go pour herself some water and a glass of Jack, neat and on the rocks.
On her way out of the bedroom, she bent down to pick up her discarded panties and the red tube top she had worn the night before. She could care less about the man that was still sleeping on her bed, she had met him yesterday as he approached her halfway through Mötley's set and unlike with Nikki, she decided to give the poor man a chance, not like she was going to see his face ever again. Furthermore, she didn't even remember his name, it had slipped her mind as soon as it left his mouth, reason why she refrained from moaning his name -not like she felt like moaning out of pleasure last night.
Circe went up the stairs, her partner for the night -was his name Will? Or maybe Mike? Fuck who cares- trailing behind her like a lost puppy, his eyes noticeably glued to her ass, practically drooling and getting mildly hard from just the thought of getting to do what he pleases with that.
Circe wanted to have fun, but she could already tell that she had said yes to the wrong man, he reeked of selfishness under the 2 dollar cologne and cheap booze he had drunk that night; her last resort to help her have some fun was teasing, her expertise.
She took her time opening her door, not minding the insistence of the man behind her, in his intoxicated state he truly believed that thrusting upwards into her ass and kissing her neck was going to make her break, sweet thing he was just so painfully wrong, Circe pushed her ass back against him, earning a deep grunt, as she put the key in the lock, moving the key around before finally unlocking the door.
Once inside she didn't even mind turning the lights on, not like he'd let her, he swiftly -read aggressively- turned her around to face him, both hands travelling to cup her ass and push her forwards as to make their hips meet, making her feel his -disappointment of- excitement. This was going to be a long night and not one of the pleasing ones...
As she downed the glass of Jack in one gulp, she felt how a pair of arms wrapped themselves around her frame, a dissatisfied roll of eyes were her silent answer before she actually turned around to acknowledge the man before her. He was attractive, for sure, a strong nose, with a piercing set of eyes, they were a very common colour -quite like hers-, a dark shade of brown, but you could feel them on top of you as they held quite an intense flame to them; his lips were slightly pouty and a nice shade of rosé; and despite all of this nice characteristics she felt no real attraction to him whatsoever, what happened the night before wasn't meant to happen again, especially because she had no real fun, no orgasms, none, zip, zero, quite disappointing to say the least. So with an almost unnoticeable smirk, she broke the silence:
"I was wondering when you were going to wake up." Queue a slight bat of her eyelashes.
"You were? -cocky casanova eyes, ridiculous- Bet you want another go, right doll?" Airhead, she thought but kept her act up, her smirk becoming more prominent when she felt his hands travel downwards, tracing the small of her back and the curve of her ass as to rest comfortably there, both hands cupping, grabbing and pinching at will as he thrust upwards into her, Circe just faked a small moan.
"Yes, I was" she said, coming up with a small plan inside her pretty little head.
Looking downwards in false bashfulness, her hands trailing upwards from his chest to the back of his neck, playing with the messy hair that lingered there. Then she crooked her neck to face him completely, a small smile playing on her velvety lips; she leaned forward, her nose close to rubbing against his and as he moved to meet her halfway on a kiss, she moved her head back a bit, her smile transforming to an almost full Cheshire Cat grin, not like he actually noticed, such an airhead. He moved one of his hands to her hair, to coax her back in position; but Circe, having none of it, placed a single finger between them, laying it on top of his lips, ceasing his movements. Next thing, that same finger started to move south, pulling on his lip as she went; it crossed over his neck, down his chest drawing small figures on his sternum, then it moved down his stomach and as she reached under his navel she decided to stop, earning a soft hiss from the man.
"Aren't you going to do something, doll?" he demanded, but his voice broke in frustration, his eyes closed. Finally, her hand moved inside his trousers and as she closed in on him, she stopped once again, earning yet another groan of exasperation.
Before her hand had slipped underneath the clothing her face looked innocent, nearly angelic, but once he opened his eyes, he was almost certain he was gazing at the devil; she had a mischievous smirk on her lips and an equally wicked-looking spark shone brightly on her chocolate coloured eyes.
"I think it's quite late for you to be here...isn't it time you leave, sweet pie?" she said, a fake pout on her lips. She slightly tightened her grip on him before removing her hand and turning around, her back facing him.
"Are you really telling me to leave?" The man questioned in anger, placing himself in front of the brunette from, the countertop being the thing that divided them. He was clearly frustrated, his hard-on being a clear tell-tale of such fact this only made Circe feel better with herself.
"Yes, sweetie, I've got places to go to... and people will arrive here soon enough, I'm sure you don't want to give them the wrong impression" Circe said, the devilish smile never dropping from her lips as she placed a cigarette between them, lighting it up without breaking eye contact with the nearly naked man in front of her.
"You can come back some other day if you like..." she lied, as she started heading towards the man in front of her, her fingers dragging over the surfaces of the countertop and the walls as she made her way to him. She took a drag from her cigarette before connecting her soft lips against the man's, letting the smoke blow between their conjoined mouths, making a small moan drop from his lips.
"Fine" he answered as he broke the kiss, making Circe smile.
Circe then poured herself another glass of whiskey and sat on the couch in her small living room. As she watched how the man picked his clothes up from where they randomly lied on the ground, she switched between taking a puff out of the cigarette between her lips and taking a drink out of her glass; she laughed to herself enjoying the little show the man before her was putting up, his flustered cheeks and quick pace seemed hilarious to her as he continued his search. Soon enough she was met with an empty apartment.
She took that as the queue to pick up her own clothes and head to the bathroom, for she died to remove the dried sweat from her skin and whichever other dried fluid that lied on her. She decided to make a quick job out of it, not wanting to open the door for Tommy in just a towel.
Walking out of the shower naked not caring to wrap a towel around herself felt like a relief from the rising heat in LA, not really wanting the constriction of the fabric around her chest and aching to feel the soft breeze that managed to enter from her open window. She reached her closet, pulling out a pair of clean panties and a bralette out of a built-in drawer, then she picked out her favourite pair of overalls, the one she used whenever she painted. As she swiftly put on all of her clothes a knock on her front door made her rush even more, she was certain that she knew who was standing outside, Tommy waiting for his review of the previous night.
"It's open Tommy!" She yelled from her room, knowing the boy was soon to become impatient and she wasn't even close to the door to let him in properly.
"Hey, Ce!" yelled Tommy from the entryway, before closing the door behind him, "brought breakfast, thought you might want some."
"What did you bring?" Circe said as she adjusted her clothes, walking to her living room and as she looked up she found herself not only facing Tommy, but Vince as well, a small embarrassment infused blush crept up her face. "Hey, Vince."
"Hey" he muttered back, leaning over Tommy to take the food from Tommy's hands.
"Blueberry pancakes for me and waffles for you, you freak" Tommy answered Circe, earning a roll of eyes and a punch on the side of the arm.
"Waffles are better, just fucking admit it, you just have bad taste" Circe bit back, accepting the container that probably held her food from Vince's hands.
"Whatever, Ce" Tommy said, standing up in search of the maple syrup and forks for the trio.
"So... how did Tommy convince you to come, Vince?" Circe asked with a smile, "What was the cost? A Jack bottle? A baggie? Cause I know the price must be high."
"You don't actually believe that I wanted to see you?" Vince answered with a smug smile, draping an arm over the sofa he was sitting in. Just as Circe was opening her mouth to answer Vince, Tommy handed her a fork and wordlessly poured some syrup on her waffles.
"It's kinda hard to believe" Circe answered, covering her mouth as to avoid little crumbs falling out her mouth. She swallowed the bite she took and proceeded, "it's not like you don't love me, I know you do, but you never come see me" a smirk prominent in her lips, a joking glint dancing in her eyes.
"You've never invited me here, all your notes are for Tommy, sweet cheeks, no Vince, it's like you've forgotten about me" Vince bit back, a spark lit up in Vince's eyes, mirroring Circe's look.
"Oh, boo hoo" Circe mocked as she took another bite to her waffle.
"Stop bickering, you're like kids" muttered Tommy, making both Circe and Vince burst out laughing.
"Us kids? Oh, Tommy, sweetheart stop" Circe managed to get out between laughs, Tommy snorted out a laugh failing at the job of staying serious, joining them.
After the laughter died down, silence took its place, the only sound in the living room was the trio chewing on their food and Tommy's leg bouncing uncontrollably.
"Well, -Tommy gulped down his last remaining bit of pancake- what did you think of last night's gig?"
"It was so good -Circe extended the o's in so to punctuate her point- you did a fucking great job back there with the drums, man. And you Vince? You're giving the groupies a show up there, got them drooling and shit, just fuck one of them already."
"Already have, Ce" Vince said casually, making Circe laugh a bit.
"Of fucking course Vin, who cares about your girlfriend, right?" Circe answered, mischief in her eyes, making Vince roll his eyes and flip her the bird.
"What about you, Tommy? Getting laid?" Circe continued not before flipping Vince back, a grin on her face. Tommy didn't care to answer verbally, he just laughed, and Circe took that as a 'duh, yeah.'
Silence. "Anyways... when are you putting the album out, I need some new shit to listen in the car, man."
"Soon, I guess" answered Vince.
"We haven't gotten around to finding a studio to record it, nor a record label" Tommy added, shrugging.
"If you want me to help you I can, just let me connect you to someone or some shit" Circe said, abruptly standing up from her place before being pulled back down by Tommy.
"Don't worry about it, we'll get around to it, on our own" Vince said, calmly might I add.
"Kay, just offering you some help, though you can make up your own record label for this kind of shit" Circe said, putting both her hands up in defence, catching both guys eyes.
"You got a new tattoo?" Tommy said, grabbing Circe's arm, examining the new ink in his best friend's arm, when did she get it and how did he not notice it?
"Yup" she answered, popping the p.
It was a very simple tattoo, a snake that crawled down her arm to her hand, the head of the snake barely reaching the first bracelet of her hand and its tongue meeting her destiny line, the snake's body wrapped itself around one of Circe's old scars.
"That's so fucking cool, dude" Tommy said excitedly, a giant grin gracing his features, his elbow hitting Vince's side as to make him say something encouraging to the brunette.
"Yeah Ce, that's gnarly, man" Vince said with an honest smile, not meeting Circe's gaze, his eyes still examining the ink.
"Thanks, guys... So - Circe finally stood up- I'm going to try and do some work but you can stay if you like" she said, dusting off her overalls.
"Nah, we'll leave you to it" said Tommy, dismissing her with a hand movement.
Both boys stood up from her places, saying goodbye to Circe with a kiss on the cheek before a light went off inside her head.
"Hey dickheads, put the forks in the sink and fucking drop the rest of the shit in the garbage" she yelled from inside the apartment, earning an annoyed groan from both boys who for a moment thought they'd gotten away with leaving things as they were.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
More than just a few hours had passed since the two messy boys left Circe's apartment, leaving her alone to procrastinate on the work that was starting to pile up.
Currently, she was sitting facing the TV, a Roger Taylor interview playing on some random channel, she sighed quite loudly as she saw the blond man talking about his solo debut album, he looked quite strange standing up all alone in an interview, lacking the company of his bandmates, it was a strange thing to look at, to say the least.
With a shake of her head, she stood up to turn her TV off, finally deciding to address the things that were due to do. She went to the spare room in the apartment, an unfinished painting standing in the background of the room looking at her in judgement -almost. Yet another sigh escaped her mouth as she ruffled her hair, she headed back to the living room, bending down to the floor, deciding to put some music that could inspire her enough to finish her work. As she went through her vinyls her eyes were practically drawn to the bunch of Queen vinyls and the Fun In Space one, a smile slipped by her as she stared at the funny little alien on the cover reading a magazine of sorts with Roger's face stamped on it, she took it out of the pile as she made up her mind, the man was promoting the album, so why not play it and give it a chance. She slipped the vinyl out of its sleeve, walking to the player, her eyes quickly scanned through the selection of songs and as she lifted the needle to place the vinyl in place an insisting knock on her door cut her short.
As the knocks grew sharper and closer to one another Circe let out an exasperated yell:
"Coming! -then she followed it with an angry mumble- goddammit."
When she opened the door she was faced with a mess of brown hair and blown out hazel eyes, Tommy, again.
"Hey, Ce!" said the tall man quite excitedly taking a drink out of an uncapped bottle of Jack.
"Hey, Tommy, what are you doing here?... again" she said, snorting out a small laugh when Tommy practically choked on the drink from trying to answer her quickly.
"I'm here to invite you over to our party, you should come!!!" He replied, pointing at her with his index finger, the bottle tightly held by the other 4 fingers.
When Tommy moved his hand closer to Circe, she caught a sniff of the liquor he had been drinking, her throat quickly drying up and her mouth slightly watering at the thought of having more than a couple of drinks. Even though she had a bottle on top of her countertop she hated drinking alone and she wasn't up for buying another bottle anytime soon, the bottle of Jack she kept around was there for whenever she craved a small sip of a hard drink instead of a snort of coke, she drank it to help her artist block -despite it helping make it bigger, but who cares, right?.
"Oh, c'mon Ce!!! You can even fuck Nikki up or some shit" Tommy tried to convince the brunette in front of him, who's gaze shifted between the inside of her apartment and him.
"I don't know Tommy" she mumbled, she hated saying Tommy 'no' as much as she has been doing lately, but she had work to do and alcohol wasn't going to help.
"I-I-I can help you with your little game or something, please Circe" he continued, giving her his best puppy eyes as he started to wiggle the bottle of Jack in front of her face, mockingly almost. "I know you want some..."
"I do, but I need to finish this painting..." She weakly argued.
"You can finish it later, I've seen you do it before, c'mon Ce! Don't be such a bore" Tommy continued taunting her, finally she caved as she took the bottle from him, giving it a large gulp.
"No more drinks for me, I'm going with you for a bit and then I'm coming back to finish this shit" She said, walking inside her apartment, Tommy close behind her.
"Coke then?" He taunted with a lopsided smile, she just let out a laugh and a nod as she headed to her closet.
She quickly searched through the clothes, thinking about what to wear for their 'casual' party, taking in consideration the fact that Nikki was going to be there and if he was still up for a few more rounds of push a pull she had to look good to play the part. After a while, she finally settled on an old Generation X shirt that had gone under some alterations to make her fit her frame whilst being long enough to be considered a dress; Circe had cut off the sleeves of the shirt and the fabric around the neck, making it have a deeper neckline that showed a bit of her chest. Then she pulled out a pair of fishnet stockings and her high heeled ankle boots. To sum up her outfit she decided to go punk but glam, apparently.
After placing everything on her bed she turned to Tommy with her eyebrows raised high, who just stared back with a dopey smile.
"What?" He questioned, his smile never dropping.
"I have to change Tommy..." Circe mumbled in slight annoyance.
"So..." He teased, Circe just rolled her eyes, she knew she wasn't going to make him leave the room so she decided to undress with him on the room, it has happened before, so who cares, really.
"Like the outfit, Ce" Tommy mentioned as he passed her the stockings, not really minding the fact that his best friend was standing in front of him in just underwear. Circe just hummed and nodded in response while putting the stocking on.
The room fell in comfortable silence as Circe got dressed, Tommy handing her the clothes she required as he kept drinking from the bottle of Jack, soon enough Circe was done dressing up, deciding to put some make-up on her bare face. Heading to the bathroom she quickly came up with a simple look, not much had to be done, she was only putting on some black eyeliner to frame her eyes accompanying it with mascara, also she was going to brush up her eyebrows and paint her lips maroon.
"Done!" She said as she walked back to her bedroom, her hands messing up her curls a bit, adding a slight volume to them.
"Great, let's go" Tommy said, jumping off the bed.
As they both walked out the room and neared the door a thought popped in Circe's head.
"Want to do some lines before we head out, T-bone?" She said excitedly, grabbing Tommy by the wrist to cease his movements. At the mention of coke, Tommy's eyes lit up with a mischievous flame, a flame that mirrored Circe's.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once they arrived at the small apartment complex near the Whiskey, Tommy opened the window and let her in before he did, making a reverence as she stepped through. As soon as Circe was inside Nikki's eyes were quickly drawn to her in an almost magnetic manner, his gaze trailing up and down as he examined every bit of skin exposed, catching a small glimpse of a vine and a thorn around her thigh; a smirk was quickly rising up his features thinking that the brunette had come around on her own, without the ass from last night trailing behind her.
Nikki's excitement was quick to fall when he noticed Tommy entering the room right behind Circe, his long arm quickly wrapping himself around her shoulder's pressing her against her side.
"Play nice" Tommy whispered teasingly to Circe before walking away, making her smile.
Circe looked around the room, taking notes on the kind of people that hung up with these guys, realising that it was mostly a female population, some accompanied with their boyfriends -clear mistake to bring your girl at a rock star's house- and other by their friends. Without much thought Circe headed to the countertop that divided the itched from the living area, looking around to see what they were offering for drinks.
"Well, well, well, Tommy finally made you show the fuck up" Vince teased, leaning on the countertop, offering her a bottle of vodka.
As Circe's hands went to go grab the bottle, Vince pressed it to his chest. "Nah-ah, you're gonna drink it from the bottle and I'm gonna pour it"
Queue, Circe rolling her eyes." Just fucking do it" she said as her head bent backwards, her mouth hanging open waiting for Vince to pour some vodka in her mouth -so much for not wanting to drink.
"There we go, baby" Vince coaxed as he saw the brunette drink what he had poured down her throat.
"Thanks, Vince" she said, whipping her mouth as she jokingly winked at him.
"I was told by Tommy over there about your game plans for Nikki" Vince said, inching closer to Circe's face, he was smirking triumphantly.
"Well, Tommy should shut up about that, and you too, understood blondie?" She threatened, her eyebrows rising, he just huffed out a laugh.
"A'right" was all he said before leaving, making Circe roll her eyes yet again.
With a shake of her head, Circe decided that she had had enough of being inside the Crüe's apartment and that she desperately needed to have a smoke. As she walked past the band's table on her way out, she caught a glimpse of some cut lines perfectly laid out on top of a cymbal, making her stop in consideration. Said cease of movement caught Tommy's eyes, who just signed her to approach him.
"Want some?" Circe looked at the drummer with playfull eyes and then she nodded, "then have some"
Circe moved closer to Tommy, taking notice on the three pairs of eyes that followed her every movement. One pair looked at her with a knowing glance -Vince's; another pair analysed her every movement and was quick to connect the dots between Circe and Tommy, considering that he actually paid attention to him every once in awhile -Mick's; and the final pair of eyes were challenging and underneath that, jealous -Nikki's.
Tommy pulled Circe onto his lap, making her push down a giggle -so much for not wanting her to play this game; Tommy then grabbed the cymbal, placing it in front of Circe who was handed some rolled-up bucks by Vince. Her eyes scanned the lines, trying to figure out which one she wanted, settling for the one on the left; she placed down the rolled-up bucks by the end of the line, then she bent down to get her nose closer to it, finally snorting the white powder. It burned slightly, but not as much as it did the first time she had done it, it was almost a pleasing burn especially since she was aware of the effect that came afterwards.
Circe stood up from Tommy's lap, looking around the table to see everyone's reaction, though their expression hadn't changed much from how it was before. Dusting off her made-up dress, Circe returned to her initial course, outside.
Once outside a sudden breeze of air hit her face, making the alcohol she had just drunk along with the coke she just snorted take a harsher effect. She breathed out hoping that it would help clearing up her head, but how do you clear your head when the music from inside the apartment was really loud and the walls were thin enough that she even managed to hear the rocking of someone's bed. With a shake of her head, she started to pat around her waist hoping to feel the outline of her pack of cigarettes somewhere around the elastic of her stockings, but she was just faced with the outline of her clothes, making her groan in frustration.
"So much for not being a groupie, don't you think, babe?" A voice broke her out of her daze of annoyance, said voice dripped poison, but still offered her a cigarette, almost as if he had read her mind. Circe faced Nikki, both leaning on the railing of the 'hallway' as she took the cigarette, placing it between her lips, waiting for him to pull one out for himself so he could light her's up.
"Well, it is true, I'm not a groupie" Circe mocked, seeing as Nikki lit up her cigarette and then his.
"Are you sure? With that fucking show you put up inside I'd think otherwise" He mocked back, never breaking eye contact with the brunette.
"You call that a show? You ain't seen nothing yet, babe" Circe said with a smirk, breathing out smoke, "and I've only been here for not more than an hour..." She dragged out, earning a huffed-out laugh from Nikki.
"I'm sure of that" he added, taking a puff out of his cigarette, letting the smoke escape from between his lips, Circe's eyes drifting downwards for a second before locking eyes with him once more.
Nikki noticed the movement Circe's eyes made, causing a sneer to grace his features, it was his moment to make a move, it was his turn to play the cat instead of the mouse. He looked at the girl, his eyes slowly trailing from his face down to her exposed legs; the lack of proper lighting made it hard to distinguish her pupil from the iris- though it might also be from her current state-, he recalled from the night before that her eyes were a dark shade of brown, not chocolate-coloured nor coffee-coloured; her nose was mostly straight except for the slight crook at the very top, it was nearly unnoticeable but under deep examination, one could tell she had once broken her nose; her lips were painted the exact same shade as the last time he had seen her, a deep maroon shade that complemented her slightly bronzed skin and that gave the illusion of a fuller mouth, a mouth that he already desired to kiss and put in good use, not like he didn't enjoy the few words he had managed to get out of her, she was feisty and he liked it; when moving his gaze downwards he found himself looking at her chest a few freckles had been splattered on the skin, giving it a realistic touch, making it human; then his eyes moved to her left arm finally taking his time to look at the intrinsicate flower design that hid the figure of a woman, the flowers were of a strange combination, but the ones that he could actually tell apart were the roses from the others.
Nikki's gaze fell heavy on Circe's body, she felt naked underneath while being completely clothed and it thrilled her; she had an idea of what he was doing but that didn't stop the adrenaline from pumping through her system, expecting his next movement, knowing he was taking his time to take his well-deserved revenge on the brunette, she knew she was the mouse and she was willing to play, but she was still going to try to put up the fight -try being the keyword.
He moved off the railing, placing himself parallel to it, in front of Circe; then he walked towards her, Circe could feel her heartbeat accelerating as his hands were placed on top of the railing at her sides, his forearms grazing hers as she moved under his gaze. Circe removed the cigarette from her lips putting it out with the cold metal before throwing it out; her breathing that was once controlled by the intake of smoke was starting to become heavier, now she could take in his scent and it was intoxicating, he smelt like all things 'good', smoke, Jack and blood, he smelt like danger and she loved it.
Nikki removed his cigarette from his lips and mimicked Circe's movements, putting it off and throwing it out. Now, there was nothing between them, not like last time and it made her feel anxious, especially when he moved closer to her, their bodies practically pressing against one another. Nikki's face neared her's, he brushed their noses together and as his lips brushed against her's she took in a sharp breath causing him to let out a breathy laugh.
"What do you want me to do, babe?" Nikki whispered, moving from her face to her ear, rubbing the side of his face slightly against hers.
"What do you want to do?" Circe questioned back, trying to regain some power over this situation, reason why her hands moved up to Nikki's neck, her nails scraping the back of his head, pulling on the hair lightly.
Nikki didn't answer he just let out a frustrated huff, enjoying the feeling of her nails and hands were they laid, it was posessive, almost. He, then, moved his face back in front of her's, their gaze never braking and as he almost met her mouth, Circe closed her eyes, but the kiss never came, instead, Nikki nibbled on Circe's lower lip, a moan dropping from her before she could catch it.
Then he broke the trance they were in, pushing his body off of her's and walked back inside, leaving Circe heaving.
Two can play this game...

Southern-inspired Modern Farmhouse
Recently built by Mike Stevens Homes, this corner lot Southern-inspired modern farmhouse exudes curb-appeal and many inspiring design ideas.
Here, the builder shares more details about this project:
“This home was one of our favorites of the past few years and was one of our Parade Houses for 2018. The customers came to us with a definite style in mind and some great inspiration photos, but it was our job, as a design/build company, to take their ideas and turn them into a reality. Their style oozed Southern Charm and we all worked hard to connect the inside and outside of the home. The 2 story porches offer amazing views of the Smoky Mountains and will also overlook a pool we designed for them (that they will add at a later date). Our staff architect did an incredible job finalizing their house plans, but we also had the chance to work with a local interior designer, Paige Stephens. She did an amazing job, working with our staff decorator, to get us decisions when we needed them, but also helping guide the customer through the selection process. She really helped our customer zoom in on their style and pick finishes that seamlessly tied the entire home together. She helped them blend unique details from their lives into custom features in the home with a story behind them. In addition to making house related decisions, she also worked with our customers to furnish the home with furniture and decorations that were in a large part locally sourced. As we mentioned previously, this really was a fun project where we got to really know the family, design the perfect homeplan with them, work with a great local interior designer and decor stylist, and work together throughout the entire build process to build a unique beautiful home. We are so happy with the results.”
I hope you have a great time seeing this house tour today on Home Bunch!

DDADDS Verses
(Gender of my OC depends on what my partner chooses)
Name: Mikaela C. Silvina / Micah “Mike” C. Silvina
Age: 39
Gender: cisfemale / cismale
Orientation: Bisexual panromantic
Background:
Mika is a single mom/dad that works as a mechanical engineer and has one child. She/He enjoys doing volunteer work in her/his free time. She’s/He’s essentially an altruistic person and finds herself/himself to always want to inspire others to do good as well.
She/He was raised and homeschooled for most of her/his childhood. Once she/he was old enough, her/his parents decided she/he needed to live normally with kids her/his own age. It was hard for her/his to adjust and learn to interact with other people properly but she/he was able to manage.
She/He meets Althea Torres, a fellow co-worker in her/his workspace. They get into a relationship and then get married. At the age of 27, they adopted Mason Bautista, a nonbinary child coming from an abusive family that disowned them. All was well until she/he had discovered that Althea was starting to have a drinking problem. They get into an argument about this but Althea had collapsed and was rushed into a hospital. Althea had died of alcohol poisoning that night. It had been hard for Mika/Mika as well as Mason, but they didn’t blame her/him.
2 years later, Mason thought a change of scenery may help their mother/father recover from the loss and convinced him/her to move into the cul-de-sac on the other side of Maple Bay.
