You mentioned that Trito and Kinoga eventually went back to the domes to find the other members of their squad, and met Denchu there - were they not in contact with Kanu at the time? Or if they were, did he decide not to come with, or did they not tell him they were going? As for Denchu (whose design I really like btw!!! they're very stylish and expressive!), once Trito and Kinoga find him again, does he end up going to the surface with them?

Nope, at the point in time when Trito and Kinoga went down to the domes, the only squad members they were in contact with were each other. They find out where Kanu is directly from Denchu, since Denchu had been communicating with Kanu through radio sparsely through the years. You can read about it in this short comic! At this point in time also, Kinoga is the only one aware of what happened to Agara.

Arrghhhh it pains Denchu to see them so much. How he had doubted so much that the others would return and being grateful that he had stayed behind to wait for them, but at the cost of everything. Finally seeing them and not knowing whether to be angry or to happy, never knowing the details about sanitization or what happened in the metros until the others tell her about it. After Kinoga and Trito get Agara and decide to take her back to the surface, they do offer Denchu to come with them, and even then, she's hesitant to leave the place she'd always known. At least now, she knows that Kinoga, Trito and Agara are (debatably) okay and at least alive, and that the surface had treated them well. Despite all this, it's still strained for them, viewing the surface as something that drove them all apart. They do want to reunite with the others, but not before clearing things up in the domes and heading up when they're ready. They treat it with a lot of hesitancy, but they decide to put more trust in the squadmates that have experienced it.

Denchu tells Kinoga and Trito where to meet Kanu, and eventually does go to the surface to live with Kanu.

I've been listening to the Inkopolis Memorial Remix and I've been wondering why Octavio would make a remix dedicated to Inkopolis of all things story-wise.

Then I figured, What if Octavio and Callie both gained a better understanding of each others' worlds through one another?

Callie, despite having her brain remixed by the Octarian leader, found such a deep appreciation and understanding of Octarian culture and society that neither she or Marie could've ever fathomed a year earlier. And Octavio, despite his low view of Inklings, found a better appreciation for them through Callie (Probably reminds him of Craig when they were younger)

I like the idea that Callie willingly stayed underground with Octavio for a while to take a break from her career and personal issues in Inkopolis. She felt like she couldn’t really go to anyone when Cuttlefish, 3, and Marie were all busy and gone, so during a visit to Octo Valley, Octavio decided to take advantage of that fact. He convinced her to break him out through that temptation of escapism. And, impulsively, Callie accepted. She made more music collaborating with Turquoise October and gained a huge following while still being anonymous, something she couldn’t get in Inkopolis.

They both would obviously be really hesitant of trusting each other, being on two different sides of a finished-unfinished war, but Callie put it aside and didn’t think too hard about it. Eventually, they started to trust each other, maybe Octavio opened up about how it is trying to lead a deteriorating nation, or Callie starts reminiscing with him about playing with Marie as kids. Little things, y’know? At least until Octavio broke that trust with the introduction of the Hypnoshades.

Her relationship with Octavio might’ve been broken at that point, but he changed her whole view on him and Octarians as a whole. Octavio was similar, Callie brought a new groove to Octarian society, he saw her become a hit and bring joy to his people underground and maybe to him too. His negative views on inkling society I’d argue changed a lot because of Callie’s influence.

I figure the brainwashing planned from the beginning, but she still left a impact on him. Enough to get him to develop the Inkopolis Memorial Remix, which I think would be a very nice, bittersweet explanation.

Episode idea: Desti's been trying to get a job for the last few weeks, but between the current job market sucking and the whole Being Dead For A Few Years thing messing with her resume, it hasn't been going well. She probably could go back into Inksports, but that would involve moving all the way to Splatsville since that's where the current Turf War scene is (and, you know, the fact that Inkopolis got destroyed during the Emulator Arc), and like hell she's gonna leave everyone she currently knows and live in the desert. She's been getting a bit discouraged, but today opportunity finally knocks in the form of the school the Kids go to needing a new P.E. Teacher.

Most of the Crew is somewhat apprehensive, knowing full well how intense both she and the kids at that particular school can be, but she's not worried about it. I mean, she was a high ranking member of the Octarian military, and after that the leader of a very successful professional inksports team! She can totally handle teaching a bunch of kids how to exercise!

Sheldon: excuse me is this the store of Neta ... Uh

Mahi: yeah this is his store.....we don't allow weapons in- oh Hey Sheldon

Sheldon: yeah I have his E-liter..... And I must say this is the finest weapon I've had in my shop. This is a real weapon!! Ahem I do work on other real weapons but mostly for inkling Splatoons but octarian made weapons are rare!! A bronze military grade 2k. It's an old model with an attachable scope. This back lining weapon has a farther distance than the average liter used in turf war with a stronger ink pressure valve. Even when it's not fully charged it takes out opponents with one shot. The downside is that the charge is incredibly slow and a lot heavier so it makes movement a lot harder but with it's power makes up-

Mahi: that's really cool Sheldon. I'm gonna get Neta

Neta: ayyyy Shelly! You got my weapon!!

Sheldon: yep, it's cleaned. I fixed the ink jam, the pressure valve is weakened and the range was shorted. it's perfect for turf war. I also fixed some of the dents and scuffs It looks brand new.

Neta: aww thanks man here's a tip. When my little Cirrina walks on the field with the only bronze e-liter they're going to be so jealous. *Sniff* My little girl's taking after her daddy.

Mahi: that used to be yours right?

Neta: yep. This used to be my weapon when I was her age............ Except she'll actually be using it for fun

Sheldon: The rumors are true! You were in the military! please I must ask.

Mahi: No Sheldon please don't do that he gets weird if you bring up that shi-

Sheldon: What was the military like! Was combat as glorious and thrilling as I've been told.

Mahi: Cod damn it

Neta: I mean it was fun sometimes......I'm not sure what an inkling Splatoon is like but I'm assuming it's very different from an ontarian Splatoon......... The first 4 years was just gruesome training. 4-hour runs intense obstacle courses, shooting drills. We got up at 7:00 a.m. and went to bed around 12:00 a.m.

Sheldon: fascinating and what was discipline like?

Neta: they had this thing called the pit. It was this concrete room filled with ink and they pushed you in. You become one with that ink and you have no idea how long you've been there It could be days, hours, weeks. By the time you get out of it you kind of forget how to revert back to normal for a while.

Sheldon: that sounds... Interesting

Neta: yeah they do that to break your spirit so when you actually go into combat and kill someone or someone next to you gets killed you don't feel anything...... It kind of worked I still feel numb sometimes

Mahi:.............. I'm sure there were some good memories you know why don't we change the subject a little bit.

Neta: yeah I get good memories with some friends especially during project Z Cod I love my old Splatoon..... I lost some friends and colleagues. Injuries and stuff like my ear. Sometimes at night my ear starts to ring and I get this piercing ghost pain like it just got shot off. I start shaking I start hearing noises and my room starts to be filled with ink.

Mahi: Neta that's enough

Neta: my hands are covered in my own blood and I just look at my hands because if I look up I sometimes see a body floating. They don't respawn like they do on the turf wars field. They just float to the surface never in one piece-

Mahi: NETA!

Sheldon: .................

Neta: and then I'm just there again. On my hands and knees My weapon knocked out of hands after the shot, far away from me. And they're there right in front of me an inkling. Probably a year older than me. They're just standing there staring at me with an N- zap pressed against my head. At that moment I just accepted death, I didn't want to die but it's not like I didn't deserve it tho. All the shit I did because I was ordered to do it. For half an hour we just stayed in that position. Eventually they just put the gun down and left.......... To this day I don't know if they did it out of pity or they realized that we were both victims of this war that we didn't even start.

Mahi: you see what fucking did Sheldon! He's going to be like this all day now!

Sheldon............. Uh

Neta: I mean you get tons of benefits. Like a lot of good medical perks your kid gets free life insurance, free prescriptions at any time. they just mail me insulin pumps I don't even have to pick it up anymore. Yeah there's benefits of the military and shit. It's pretty fun..................I'm gonna stay in bathroom until we close. If anyone asks the bathroom is out of order.
