You have got to check out the comic series

It's a really interesting take on what a younger Picard might have been and I love it.

What makes it also so funny it that by Issue #6 it is revealed that one of the characters is actually a younger Q, yes THE Q.

more spoilers under the cut but the comic series is definitly worth experiencing yourself. It also involves Spock and Picards archaeology professor

(The fact that Q later complains about Riker being too hairy and the implication that it's Qs doing that Picard becomes bald.)

Just read this comic and keep in mind that this one nerdy guy is actually a younger Q. It's one hell of an experience. The beginning of a great captain and also the beginning of a lifelong obsession. Like seriously, Picard should be able to get a restraining order from the continuum against Q after finding out that Q has been some random person in his life since his Academy years.

It may seem stupid, but am I the only one who thinks that one of Tommy Kinard's problems is the fact that he is such a dull, bland character?

I mean, we've seen with 9-1-1 that they are capable of giving characters redemption arc / giving them a past, but with Tommy, none of this happen. Instead, we just skipped from "yeah, he was racist" to "now he has a good relationship with Chim and Hen," and that was it.

They just dug up this character from the past for plot purposes and then didn't try to go any further with him other than to put him in a relationship with Buck. And to me, one of the problems is that they put this character who lacks any depth with one of their more complex character.

Unlike the relationship between Buck and Eddie (platonic or romantic), Buck and Tommy's relationship feels so dull that even if I tried, I wouldn't be able to get invested
