Pharma doesn't find out about Rung immediately like. In canon, Rung and Ratchet know about each other before the Lost Light and were friendly. Rung, being a good older figure, who knew and liked Ratchet, makes a point to stop in and check on Pharma which is how they first meet. Rung immediately clocks a.) Trepan is a shady bastard, b.) Pharma is going through it and fucking young and still in need of a mentor, and c.) nobody else seems to have the time to keep an eye on this situation (he had not yet met Orion Pax). Rung figures "well I have no social life and I think it is about time to go full busybody" and starts making a point to act like a nosey grandma who keeps visiting Pharma and inviting him out to eat (he is neglecting himself) and "running into him" which Pharma accepts at face value and allows himself to be gently bullied by the ever polite Rung. Eventually, they spend enough time together Pharma remembers him.

Rung uses medical texts to lure him into socializing since Pharma genuinely enjoys learning, introducing him to Pyschology which he mostly ignored but figures is an off shot of mnemosurgery especially when Rung the origins or it related to his field and how he'd originally been enthusiastic for the benefits of it being used sparingly. He also lets Pharma edit his in progress papers to give him something just new and demanding enough to distract him.

Pharma, over the years, discovers both Rung's regenerative capabilities and the Rung Conspiracy in some Conspiracy forums that trace back Rung's appearance and in photographs of every major event of their species. Pharma, in his pursuit for necromancy, gets involved in some pretty esoteric stuff including disgraced doctors and scientists works either because they were genuinely mad or "unqualified" or the government didn't agree, small cults following particular interpretations of Primus, research into the history of the Matrix and ancient legends and stories, and "magic books" and the records and essays of "sorcerers and warlocks". He eventually realizes that the interpretation of the Matrix and therefore Primus as a healing god, unpopular in modern times but a formally popular sect, is more likely and actually theological historians that study those ages show some things. He gets really into Vector Sigma and other stuff and eventually does some math, goes just a little off the wall, sees Rung's alt-mode, and inspects the Matrix and comes to the conclusion that it was physical made from a cast not just presented by Primus and figures why not go for it.

Pharma, to be clear, is not entirely stable about this and it is a process of centuries and becomes well established as a doctor with "quirks" due to his "interest" in fringe religions as he got deeply involved in a cult of Mortilus for similar reasons and met a very interesting mech named Mesothulas and they became penpals. Meso is delighted by it all and helps Pharma get concrete proof or conceptualize his more interesting ideas. He is directly involved in the Wrenchening.

Rung is much more deeply entrenched in Pharma's life by the time the kidnapping occurs and is very sympathetic to his self-assigned grandchild.

And, yep, hard agree, Wrench is to be beloved and cherished and Pharma does with conviction. That is his fucking baby. Everyone loves Wrench and is protective of him. He is the same age as Hot Rod and Deadlock, who gets involved with this later, because Trepan's unwilling redemption causes spiraling changes, is very protective as well as he'd never quite forgiven himself for not being able to pay back Ratchet. 

Makes sense makes sense, Trepan is indeed a shady bastard and if anyone's gonna realize it's Rung

Okay sdfhi tracks that there's a Rung Conspiracy because YEAH. He's always there, even if just as an observer or prop. He's always there. And makes sense Pharma would encounter this eventually considering how deep he's diving for a way to get Ratchet back.

Honestly I feel like we do not abuse the connection between the Matrix, Primus, and healing/creation/ life enough. Pharma certainly is.

Me and my friend Indi (Indigo) played hk yesterday, except we each had one joy-con to use like a three-legged race, our idea turned out so galaxy brain that I had to draw a little vessel oc for our shenanigans, plus some paraphrased moments as comics!

Decided this week to doodle up some art of @crabsnpersimmons raincoat Sun and Moon designs from their Rain or shine AU! The designs are super cute so I just had to doodle something up for them!

I wonder if they would make some little froggy friends while splashing in puddles, I can sure imagine they'd have fun hopping along with them!

So I named TLP after the book The Little Prince because I went to a French school so we read that book constantly so I thought it would be funny if I made little drawings of TLP Donnie if I had named au after different French books I read as a kid!

It was hard to think of some that were actually French and not just translations lol turns out a lot of the books that I thought were French were really just English books with French translations :P

Was thinking about Of Two Minds (Trepan Unwilling Redemption), specifically about Pharma fibding out about it being Trepan who reported and killed Ratchet. There's a lot of guilt and pain and anger, but Pharma is also practical. Trepan has parts of Ratchet in him and Ratchet's brain module. Ratchet is dead, but Pharma, after a very intense night, isn't convinced he has to remain that way. He becomes convinced he can rebuild from there.

He needs Trepan for that so he doesn't tell Orion yet.

So Pharma becomes obsessed with inventing necromancy in the same way Brainstorm did Time Travel. Turns out he finds a few key components to raising the dead: a willing mnemosurgeon, a touch of God's Spark (Rung), and fresh sentio metallicl. Rung is a good sport about the kidnapping and a big comfort to Pharma.

Like Brainstorm, Pharma is successful.

Somewhat.

He restarts a Spark with a similar personality and lingering memories that were undamaged from Ratchet, but isn't his Ratchet. Pharma makes basically a new baby whose more like a combination of G1 Cartoon and Cyberverse's sparse characteristization. Friendly, good at his job, socially awkward, and enthusiastic. He looks more like G1 Cartton Ratchet as well.

He ends up not wanting to put those expectations on this newborn. The newborn ends up naming himself Wrench and becomes a big part of Pharma moving on as he focuses on helping him.

Oh Pharma.

I can totally see the parallels here between Pharma and Brainstorm, and I feel like the results will be fascinating considering what I know of IDW Cybertronian creation / how they more or less exist in themselves

Ok, so Muppet AU! Every ability user in canon is a muppet, except for Dazai, who nullifies both abilities and the physical state of being a muppet!

Now that that’s established:

Bram is already kind of a muppet, right?

(Whenever Bram spreads the vampirism, the newly infected muppet just gains a pair of glued-in fangs)

Corruption is just muppet-Chuuya on a string, being swung wildly about like the killer rabbit from Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Imagine you are a muppet for as long as you can remember, and then one weird human pokes you, and suddenly you are also human for the first time alsksjdjf

Oh and the best part of this AU is Ranpo!!! Because if Fukuzawa convinced Ranpo that he had an ability when he was fifteen, then that means that Fukuzawa simultaneously had to convince a human boy that he was a muppet.

And Ranpo believes this for years.

Okay hear me out.... Journey to west au. Sun being the monkey king from the book and Y/N a traveller. Y/N rescues him from under the mountain and he joins them in their travels. Moon is a demon that's terrorising a town until Y/N and Sun stop him. Moon then joins the two. Finally Eclipse is another demon that kidnaps Y/N in order to eat them but instead is so utterly charmed by them that he joins the party. Shenanigans ensue... Thoughts?

The great monkey king is indebted to a mortal but he has little qualms with escorting you on your travels as a way to give his thanks for rescuing him from underneath the mountain. His magic and strength are at your disposal. Strangely, you prefer traveling peacefully and quietly, avoiding trouble and helping those in need when the two of you come upon them. The monkey king thinks you are vulnerable and too trusting, and he decides to protect you at all costs.

The lunar demon does not take kindly to his mischievousness and destruction being wrought, but when you and the monkey king stop the mayhem he inflicts upon a small town, the lunar demon can't help but become amused and intrigued by a daring, bold mortal who is so calm in the face of dangerous, sharp teeth, red eye demon. He thinks you are naive and foolish, but he follows you and the monkey king because who else will watch over you at night? Who will keep you safe from the other toothy and red-eye demons?

It is not too long down the road of your seemingly endless travels that a problem arises. The monkey king and the lunar demon venture to the river to fetch you food and drink and while you toil, you feel the shadow of a great personage fall upon you before you are snatched away. You struggle and call for your dear, new friends, but the dark being smuggles you into his cave. He ties you up and leaves you on the floor of his home as he prepares to eat you. You, however, remain calm and speak with the great demon and learn he is the eclipse prince. The eclipse prince wants nothing more than to cook and devour you, but you convince him to allow you to serve him tea first. Pleased by the offer, the eclipse prince unties you. You serve him a tea you have used to comfort the monkey king and calm the lunar demon, and speak with the eclipse prince. The conversation continues until the pot of tea is gone and he tells you to prepare another, pot after pot until he is laughing and telling you that he has forgotten his hunger—your charm and allure have sated him. He will let you go and return you to your companions, but you invite him to join your company.

The eclipse prince is pleased to accept. He opens his cave and returns with you to the monkey king and the lunar demon. When you come upon them, they are furious and frantic. They act quickly to take you back and prepare to attack the one who carried you away before you calm them. The eclipse prince stands rather unapologetically as you explain that he is now joining the three of you. The lunar demon does not take kindly to this change and the monkey king hovers close to you, refusing to let you leave his sights while the eclipse prince seamlessly joins the camp and prepares a pot of tea for you to drink.

You continue your travels, glad to have such devoted company.
