Replacing physical buttons and controls with touchscreens also means removing accessibility features. Physical buttons can be textured or have Braille and can be located by touch and don't need to be pressed with a bare finger. Touchscreens usually require precise taps and hand-eye coordination for the same task.
Many point-of-sale machines now are essentially just a smartphone with a card reader attached and the interface. The control layout can change at a moment's notice and there are no physical boundaries between buttons. With a keypad-style machine, the buttons are always in the same place and can be located by touch, especially since the middle button has a raised ridge on it.
Buttons can also be located by touch without activating them, which enables a "locate then press" style of interaction which is not possible on touchscreens, where even light touches will register as presses and the buttons must be located visually rather than by touch.
When elevator or door controls are replaced by touch screens, will existing accessibility features be preserved, or will some people no longer be able to use those controls?
Who is allowed to control the physical world, and who is making that decision?

Haven’t been able to update about it here bc I’ve been a bit busy bUT!! My Eve and E-Male (and extra webmaster) dolls arrived last week
:-D
Will post some detail shots and a review under cut :-)
So first off, Webmaster and E-male both have their original face slips and Eve doesn’t, however Eve and E-male also both have an extra thin shiny plastic screen cover inserted into their faces, which neither this Webmaster nor the one I got originally have. I have yet to try and take any of these out as their head plastic is very inflexible, but I will be trying!
Getting E-male has also allowed me to finally see what his tattoo is, and it’s a blue mail box baybeee!! Very very cute.
Next, I found out Eve’s jacket can actually be unbuttoned, which is super cool!!! And her shirt underneath is also very cute, and I love that they have that detail there at all! It easily could’ve been sewn on, and I wouldn’t have thought anything of it. However I won’t be unbuttoning much as the coating to make her jacket shiny is old and somewhat flaky, and it’s a bit hard to get the button out and back into the hole. The bags on her hands ARE sewn on, however.
Lastly, I discovered a… very interesting height difference between E-male and this Webmaster…
I’m not sure if this is a production difference between webmasters or a constant as I have not taken my other WM down to check, but I plan to do a separate post with a side by side comparison of the two, as the paint on this WM is a bit more flecked off, so that will b coming in the future as well!! :-D
I’m so so excited to have these guys and am looking forward to getting to display them along with the others I plan to add to my roster. Wahoo!!
(ID in ALT for all)

Guys I would like to propose a conversation on why whumpblr has the most wholesome fandom coding and yet every whumpblr introduction post I ever see sounds like this:
“Hiiiii everybody! I’m new here, nice to meet you! I’m a bit shy, but I’ve been around for a while reading whump posts and thought it was finally time to join in! Here are some of my favorite tropes!!!!! ❤️😘🥰💕
LIMB CHOPPING, ANAL FISTING UNTIL PROLAPSE, TOE REMOVAL, REPEATED HEAD TRAUMA AGAINST THE SHARP CORNER OF A WALL, CRITICAL ORGAN ABUSE, FORCED CONSUMPTION OF BROKEN GLASS
If you guys are into that, let me know!! 💕💕💕💕 I follow back!”
You guys sound like the sweetest serial killers in the world

I hope that one day, birds would be the only visitors of Bubu Pharmacy. If that were to happen, I would know that all is well and everyone is healthy.
