Sebastian x Reader: come one, come all (One Shot)

Plot: Five years after graduating, two kindred spirits are finally getting married and their friends reminisce on their brilliant histories.

or, Lucas Brattleby interviews their friends on their memories and opinions of the future Mr. and Mrs. Sallow as a little gift for the couple.

“What is this again?”

The brat, Lucas Brattleby, had grown obscenely taller the last time Imelda had seen him, which was about 3 years ago when he was a rookie reporter covering her latest game. She heard he is now a publisher in his own right but didn’t seem to brush off that annoying lint in his voice back when he was still a Gryffindor matching illegal unsanctioned duels in the Clock Tower.

“A small gift of mine for the couple,” he grinned (still as irritating, she’s seen that grin enough times before she got her ass handed to her so forgive her for not being enamored), pushing the pen (recorder?) to her that she reflexively pushed him by his face. “Sorry.”

“And why should I do this?”

“Oh come on, Imelda. It’s just harmless questions to take us back down memory lane. It’ll be played at the reception and I promise I’ll send you everything before I finalize it just so you can make sure –”

“Alright!” She stopped walking, rolling her eyes when Lucas quickly assembled his camera, even quickly conjuring a chair and putting it at the center of the frame. Clearly, he knew she could change her mind at any moment.

“My lady,” he bowed dramatically, pointing a palm to the seat.

“Don’t call me that. You have 10 minutes before warm-ups start.” Lucas raised both of his hands in the air before quickly running behind the camera and clicking the button to start recording.

“I’ll be out of here in 5.” Lucas flipped a paper in front of him. “Let’s start with your name, a little something about yourself and where did you meet them.”

She took a deep breath, putting on the poker face she usually plasters on her face when talking to the media before her many games instinctively. “Imelda Reyes, Vice-Captain of Puddlemere United, and I had the misfortune of being in the same boat as Sebastian Sallow during our first year. She, however, was a little late to the party and wreaked havoc on my life when I was a fifth year.”

Lucas was meticulously writing notes in his fancy notebook.

“What’s the fondest memory you have of the couple?”

She scoffed, not even needing to think about it. “Sebastian? Definitely when he caught a bludger … with his face.” The memory of the cry he emitted pulled a real smile on Imelda’s face. “We almost lost and I would’ve killed him for it but oh was it glorious.”

He remembers this game.

“Didn’t he fall off his broom midair?”

Imelda waved a nonchalant hand in front of her face. “That girlfriend of his caught him with an Arresto Momentum so no harm done – well, except the crooked nose he sported for a week.”

Lucas chuckled with her, “And for the future Mrs. Sallow?”

“Nothing much, most conversation we’ve had was her beating me – beating me in a race, beating me in a duel, Merlin, she even beat me with the class ranking on her first year in Hogwarts. I had a five-year head start how was that possible?!”

Lucas smiled, reading that as bitter her words were she truly held no grudge over it. He was caught off guard, however, when Imelda suddenly had a small, serene smile on her face, her voice when she spoke softer. “She was … it was like I was always chasing after her. We all were, Sebastian always first in the race but … it was fun. I had fun. She made Hogwarts fun. A true competition, yknow? Didn’t have much at that point in my life.”

“Competition?”

“A friend.”

Lucas couldn’t help but be surprised – not everyone can be considered as Imelda Reyes’ friend as picky as she is, though he quickly fixed his face when she shot him a look that told him not to probe. “Did you ever think they would both get married?”

Imelda scoffed out a laugh, crossing her arms. “I knew the only way they wouldn’t get married is if Sallow got assassinated by one of her many admirers and even then I wouldn’t put it past him to somehow turn into an Inferi just so he can still be the one to marry her. I’m honestly surprised he held on for this long, pretty sure he would’ve popped the question the moment we graduated.”

“Technically, he did. They just decided to get married this year.”

That one made her laugh out loud, shaking her head at her old friend’s antics. Of course, she knew those two would get married, basically tied to the hip, always getting in and out of trouble with each other and for each other. Bloody hell, they’d been married since fifth-year and just didn’t know it.

“Typical Sallow,” she caught herself. “Well, Sallows now, Merlin help us all.”

Lucas rechecked everything on his notes, making sure to mark any and all important details of the words his enchanted pen has written for him as he spoke with his former Senior, Garreth Weasley, who was once a thorn on the side of Professor Sharp but was now a renowned Potions Master actively getting scouted by Hogwarts, his blends sought upon by the most respectable wizards and witches all over the world.

“Did I think they would get married? Mate, Sebastian almost bit my head off when I tried to ask her if she would like to be partners for one potion class. One! And we were sitting next to each other! I’m sorry if I thought I was being friendly?!”

Lucas has heard and has unfortunately been a victim of Sebastian’s … tendencies. You, despite being the top duelist in Hogwarts was always, more often than not, partnered with Sebastian in every duel. The one time Lucas had agreed in a quiet solo duel without letting Sebastian know his senior had caught him on his way to his potion's class and nailed him to the wall by his cloak while threatening him to never let it happen again or he will turn him into a pretty outline in the walls of Hogwarts with Bombarda.

He thinks that was the closest thing he had been to peeing his pants.

“Yeah, Sebastian doesn’t have the best track record with friendly males around his girlfriend.”

“They weren’t even courting by then how would I bloody know that –”

“Ready, Poppy?”

Surprisingly, the sweet woman in front of him has been the most difficult to track down. Amongst their mutual friends she was the one he had no idea where to start, especially after his only lead, her grandmother, had no other information to give him aside that the last she heard Sweet Poppy was down South Clagmar Coast ‘doing Merlin knows what’.

Thankfully, the citizens of Cragcroft were a bit more helpful and he was able to send her an owl about his little project.

“Where should we start?”

Lucas made sure she was framed perfectly in the shot before nodding to himself. “Nothing complicated Poppy, just first impressions or any memory you have of the young couple.”

She pursed her lips in thought, nodding to herself, “The two of them have always been terrifyingly intimidating, especially for someone like me. Seemed to just attract attention and trouble on their own – I mean, killing a troll in Hogsmeade on the first day – just a bunch of troublemakers they were. Brilliant troublemakers – which only made them scarier in my eyes.”

Lucas nodded in total agreement but he couldn’t help but squint at her.

“You aren’t exactly innocent, Ms. Hid-a-Hippogriff.”

Her eyes widened, blushing at the accusation. “In my defense, future Mrs. Sallow helped me take care of Highwing.”

Poppy recounted the memories with a smile on her face.  Her dainty smile grew bigger as she recapped happy memories she had with her classmates.

“But they’ve always been lovely. Lovely people and an even lovelier couple. Sebastian has always been bright and charming and surprisingly kind for a Slytherin and she … she’s always been unapologetic of who she was. It also meant she never judged anybody for who they are either.”

The woman paused, the smile on her face remained frozen as if she was in deep reflection.

“A true friend – one of the truest I had.”

Lucas was never in their circle, hell, aside from each other and maybe Ominis nobody was truly ever in their innermost circle despite their popularity. At every explosive trouble the two were always caught in he couldn’t help but wonder just what they get up to when they weren’t caught. Even back then he knew he would’ve risked his life and followed them no question asked if it meant his young self got to go to one of their death-defying adventures with them.

But being two years younger was a barrier he could never overcome.

It is refreshing to hear of stories from their friend’s perspective and not in passing in the Central Hall in Hogwarts where it’s all half-true, fabricated, or painfully hyperbolic. Maybe that’s why he had thought to do this, a reporter’s disease of needing to know the truth, the dark side of the coin they hid with their secrets and anonymities passed only in hushed whispers and clandestine meetings with each other.

“Are you excited about the wedding?”

Poppy nodded eagerly. “Oh, I’m extremely happy for my friends! It’s not every day two souls find each other and just not let go. I’m glad they didn’t. After all they’ve been through, they deserve to have each other.”

He couldn’t have agreed more.

“That they do.”

Mr. Lucas Brattleby,

I have received your owl, unfortunately, I will not be able to go back there till the night before the wedding as I still have a business to wrap up here in America. For the questions you sent, I shall send this Howler and you may record it.

I have nothing good to say about Mr. Sebastian Sallow, that boy had done nothing but torment me in my youth. It’s a bloody miracle he had managed to snag the Hero of Hogwarts as his girlfriend – terrible lack of judgment on her part I must say, we all have our flaws – much less agree to be his wife. If there’s one good thing he did do, it was willingly become a lowly servant to such a lovely witch. Least he could do, really.

However, despite their blatant differences and unfortunate similarities I, for one, knew immediately that not even Death could sever such a connection – not if Sebastian Sallow had anything to say about it, and trust me I speak from experience. They’ve fought through detentions, goblins, dark wizards, and a damned troll – I’m sure marriage will be a breeze in a park.

Well, if I’m wrong, then let the future Mrs. Sallow know I would be more than willing to offer a comforting shoulder.

PS. To my darling wife Leonora, light of my life, the last part was a joke and If I somehow disappear it was Sebastian Sallow who did it.

“They give Sebastian too much credit when my dear friend was equally as obsessed about him. Do you remember Allia?”

Lucas snapped his fingers when he finally put a face to the name he hadn’t heard in a while but made sure to look around lest one of the younger students managed to hear such … delicate matters in the DADA classroom. “Didn’t she transfer during your 6th year? Something about personal … complications?”

Natty laughed out loud, doubling over with tears in her eyes. “Oh, that excuse was all thanks to Ominis swinging around his name. Our dear witch hexed poor Allia while she was asleep for trying to poison Sebastian with Amortentia! Sneaked straight into the Ravenclaw tower and cursed her to grow the features of a rat every time she even thought about Sebastian! The only way Ominis could convince our friend to take back the curse and avoid expulsion was at the condition of her transferring and never letting the couple see even her shadow again.”

He never even noticed that his jaw was hanging off his face.

“Oh, if everyone only knew that fights I had prevented if a Junior so much as fluttered their lashes at Sebastian,” she shook her head, still laughing to herself.

Now all the pieces he hadn’t realized were part of the same puzzle clicked on his head. The flat smile on her face that never quite reached her eyes every time they were surrounded by strangers, the grip she always held on Sebastian’s arms no matter where they were going, the ‘promise ring’ Sebastian also wore when traditionally it was just the girl who had it, and the absolute absence of Sebastian’s name when girls talked about boys they fancied in the common room when he was undoubtedly better looking than most students in Hogwarts.

“A jealous witch she was, thinks she’s good at hiding it,” Natty chuckled.

Lucas realized in horror that she had scared off the entire female student body.

“But by the gods was she better at hexes.”

When Lucas had heard that Ominis Gaunt had been working closely with the Minister for Magic and was undoubtedly being groomed to be his successor, he wasn’t exactly surprised. Everyone knew he would be someone important someday so Lucas had damn near lost all hope as he sent an owl to the man.

When he received a reply in a fortnight brought by a regal-looking owl, Lucas thought he must have some soft spot for his fellow alumni. But it would seem the man just had a lot to let out of his chest.

“Oh, the stories I could tell! If I had a knut for every time I had to rescue one of those idiots out of a horrific situation they found themselves in I would be richer than the Blacks!”

He’d never seen his hair this undone in the 7 years they had been on the same campus. Maybe Lucas was just that good of a journalist or maybe it was the half-empty bottle of expensive whiskey that was the reason for his loose lips.

“I mean, Sebastian was bad enough, but once he found someone who would willingly dive with him to whatever dangerous expeditions he found interest in and I was outnumbered it was a bloody nightmare.”

For the first time in his life, he felt pity for the man. It was never really a secret why Sebastian didn’t serve half the detention he deserved nor why neither of them had ever been expelled when a trail of evidence led to the both of them red-handed and always at the scene of the crime. But he has to give it to Ominis … a lesser man would’ve cracked at their mischiefs.

“And Sebastian … everybody knows he would’ve willing let himself be target practice for all sorts of curses if she had asked.”

Lucas can’t even defend his childhood hero. Especially, of the things he had learned from his previous subjects. It would seem even the mightiest of men would always buckle in the face of their true love.

“I-I’m sure they’ve done the same for you,” Lucas winced.

“Oh, they better, with the flaming hoops I had to jump through to make sure we graduated alive,” Ominis waved him off indifferently. “They are my best friends. I would follow them to hell but I just wish they would stop going there for one damn semester.”

Lucas snickered, unfortunately unable to hold it in with just how stressed the memory of the mischiefs his favorite couple got up to has brought Ominis. He was sure the older man would choke him but he just sighed out a laugh until the two of them were laughing to each other.

“I guess they have always been the perfect person for each other.”

Ominis nodded, leaning his head on his fist. “Yeah …”

He threw Lucas a look.

“Do you think they won’t make me their children’s godfather if I begged?”

Lucas bit his lips. “My money is on the eldest getting named after you so …”

Ominis groaned.

Lucas refilled his glass.

Warrior-fication under the cut:

Hummingpaw was born from two (ex)clan leaders after the abolishment of the old Warrior code and (insert warrior cats Belos here). Despite their parents being officially retired leaders, they still tend to garner unwanted attention solely from the fact that they are leader-born (But also cause junipurr is just mighty popular amongst the clans i guess). Not only was the attention incredibly annoying, it also causes their gifted “powers” to flare up unpredictably.

Ever since they were a kit, they’ve been having unusually vivid dreams that keep reccuring. They quickly figured out that, for whatever reason, these dreams seem to foretell incidents that will happen in the future no matter how big or small. But it didn’t stop at just dreams, throughout the day they would get visions of other clanmates future. As you could imagine it rapidly became overwhelming. But while they kept this information to themselves and their family, it didn’t take long until the clan found out about their secret.

It was a joyous day for the clan—Starclan has chosen this young apprentice as their guide! It’s clear to them that Hummingpaw was a gifted cat, their “strong connection to Starclan” pretty much says it all. After they discovered their hidden powers, they were swiftly transferred to the medicine den and began training as a medicine cat… without asking how Hummingpaw thought of all of this.

Which ofc leads to alot of religious spite and hatred towards Starclan for “cursing” them, even if they dont show it 👍 and yeah theyre still gonna get the “seeing ghost/spirits” stuff btw cause thats actually a canon thing that happens in the books—one character even became a lil crazy cause of it !!! 😋

1: Anything on rosie or rebecca?: I got some stuff! I'll do Rosie first. Just like the series, she's got a little crush on Thomas when she's younger and Thomas isn't having it. Lol. She is a tomboy, but still enjoys girly stuff too. As she gets older, she grows out of her childhood crush and her and Thomas remain good friends. She matures into quite a graceful, strong, and respectable lady. Unfortunately, I don't have a design or much info for her yet. But hopefully soon!

Then we have Rebecca! She's definitely interesting! I based her design off frilled lizards and sunflowers! She's the youngest out of the female characters! Probably just in her teenage years!

Rebecca crash landed on the island and claimed that she was traveling with her clan there. She waited for days for them to show up. But they never came. Now, Thomas and his family couldn't possibly let such a sweet dragon get abandoned like this. So they let her into their clan! Rebecca shockingly got very attached to Gordon. And vise versa. He becomes a father figure to her. (In fact, he ends up adopting her eventually!) Rebecca reminded him of his younger sisters whom he loved.

2: How about anything of the narrow gauge engines (they're my favs) like proteus, luke or stanley/smudger? Who’s your fav?: I love them and they definitely in here! They're the Mountain Cave Clan! A clan of small ground dwelling dragons! With Skarloey as their Patriarch! There's tons of them! From well known characters like Duncan, Peter Sam, and Rheneas, to obscure extended family! And Proteus is actually their guardian spirit! I'm still figuring out his role and powers, but just like in the series, if you can find his lamp, it will grant you a wish! But you have to pass a series of trials and tests to even get your hands on it! (Oh, and Luke was my favorite when I was a kid! I loved him!)

3: Are ya gotta add any aeg characters like bruno, sandy or kana? Kana’s gotta be a speedy queen: I think so actually! I've seen a lot of AUs with Bruno as Henrietta and Toby's kid and OH MY GOSH YES. That's adorable.😍 And Kana is definitely there! She's Kenji's little sister in this! I'm not sure about Sandy yet. But she seems cute. So maybe!

Ok the convo between Cahaya and Tok just had me crying….Ik Cahaya accepts the circle of life and death but uk it still hurts

Hey just a request can you actually tell the scenario when the brothers arrive and they see all the arrangement and a cutely sleeping Cahaya, atleast their thoughts and how overwhelmed they would be when Tok tells them that he had worked hard for their birthday and slept being tired!

Context

8:00 in the morning

eyes slowly open, he wonders, why is he in his room? wasnt he downstairs? when is today? he firstly took his glasses which also happens to be at the desk beside him, he sat up

he finally checked the time on his phone and realized

yesterday was their birthday. they didnt arrive that time.

all he could do was sigh and look blankly at his phone. he wonders if they're here now, if not maybe he should check up on them with the watch, if it could even reach them. He doesnt see Api, Air, nor Daun in their beds, he wouldve noticed immediately, they share the same room after all

he stood up and decide to check Petir, Tanah and Angin's room

they weren't there either.

well that checks out, they're not here-

He faces Daun, just as he was about to go down stairs

"Daun?" he spoke out with mild disbelief "i was just about to wake you up" Daun says smiling

Cahaya furrowed his eyebrows a bit, confused but relieved, all of a sudden Daun hugged him

"Thanks for preparing that huge feast for us, and dont worry we havent ate a single bite! we were waiting for you!" Daun told him, letting go of the hug he tackled him with

"you were waiting for us after all, its only right we wait for you to eat all together!!" Ruffling his hair, Daun chuckles

"Thanks little brother" He says with a warm smile

"dont call me that." Cahaya softly says

Daun chuckles again, pulling Cahaya downstairs

As Cahaya finally regained his footing from being pulled down to the kitchen, He sees his brothers prepping up the table, the cake in the middle has had the Candles rearranged, the plates and food lined up.

he was then, greeted with more bearhugs, this time from Api, Angin and Tanah. "HEY STOP IM BEINGSQUISHED HERE!!"

"Haha sorry, thats just a big thank you for all of this" Angin laughed

"aww you still have your heart despite all that darkness in it" Api teased

"sorry we didnt come earlier and celebrated on our actual birthdate, but we'll make up for it right now, wha'd you say we blow the candles now?" Tanah calmly spoke out

"i got the camera ready!!" Ochobot cheered out

"I've got the lighter" tok Aba said as he came in the room

"OH! Atok let me do it!!" Api exclaims point ing at himself while approaching the old man, but before Atok could reply tanah had already grabbed Api by his shirt and pulled the flailing Api away

Cahaya let out a snort watching the entire scenario

he was called by Daun to sit down by the cake, he smiled brightly running up to him.

the candles are lit each by color, as every year, the way they blew their candles are one by one

"one!" Petir shouted before blowing his yellow Candle

"two!" Angin shouted before blowing his purple Candle

"three!" Tanah shouted before blowing his brown Candle

"four!" Api shouted before blowing his red Candle

"Five!" Air shouted before blowing his blue Candle

"six!" Daun shouted before blowing his green Candle

"seven!" Cahaya shouted before blowing his white Candle

After that they shout altogether"HAPPY BIRTHDAY" before they would start eating.

Cahaya smiled brightly, he enjoys everything about this. It lofted his entire spirit from yesterday

It might not be their actual birthdate but, theyre here, as long as theyre here. Hes fine.

"We havent really spending that much time with you lately." Petir spoke up walking towards the glasses wearing boy

"you think?" replied Cahaya

"sorry" Cahaya was caught off guard by that reply, usually, Petir would be mad by his snarky remarks or tone

"we'll make it up to you, i heard there would be a mission we would be involved in. After some thinking, and talking with tanah, We'll let you be involved in missions, physically." Petir spoke in such a soft spoken way, when he looked at Cahaya, he saw what he expected, what he wont admit he missed,

A big bright smile and glowing eyes that reminded him of the boy who would always love to share everything with them

"Really??" Cahaya says in full ecstasy

Petir nodded, Cahaya immediately hugged Petir, Petir could only so return it back. "I promise you." Petir says

As they let go, Petir kept the conversation going "since your the 'informant' of tapops or smth... Can you tell me something about tapops? Spill their dark secrets to me." He knugged the boy with his elbow as he continues to kid around

"sorry, Even to family members thats classified!" Cahaya teased as he ate his cake

"oh really, shame." Petir chuckled as he replied

"what about space?"

"really?"

"go ahead"

"Well, did you know space is above or below negative 400 Fahrenheit?"

"that's cold"

"according to some information Tapops had recorded, some froze almost immediately just by stepping out to space unprotected"

"mhm"

"well by our earth recordings, it is negative 400 degrees Fahrenheit, but i think the tempeture is written differently in a book from Tapops, i dont know what it is so i guess i'll have to research more about it"

The conversation went out long, through all of Cahaya's ramblings, Petir never once looked bored, infact he stops Cahaya time to time by asking questions, and Cahaya would happily answer them

The conversation would only fully stop once Atok called the brothers in to create a video to send to their father

"HI ABA!!!"

"We turned 15 yesterday!!!"

"we were late and a bunch but Cahaya fixed up something for all of us!!"

"wish your here aba!!"

They continued for the next hour or so talking about anything to the video, sadly the video had reached its limit and they had to stop. The rest of the day was calm relaxation few events, like kokotiam coming in with presents and the septuplets opening them up with little banters and teasing

They all decided to sleep together in the living room that night, they slept peacefully

Okay here to create an entire au based on just one song lyric but:

Anne did NOT survive that first week. But the guardian is like "shit didnt think this far ahead ummm ghost?" So Anne is this visible but *mostly intanglibe spirit. she panics at first bc "OMF I DIED" but gets used to it. shes visible, can still interact with people. she has cool ghost powers now. aint all that bad, aint it?

anyway now to over exlpain stuff as it pops into my head but ill put it under the cut dont worry. got the basic stuff anyway alwaredy

So: Reunion. Anne of the year happens and stuff and Toadie is like "some one says their a friend" yada yada yada stuff so anne is still ghost when she goes up to sasha. BUT she has learned that its best to pretend to be alive at least when approaching someone so she float walks up (looks like shes walking but is actaully floating) and then realizes its sasha and goes "Oh shit" and tangibles herself just before the hug. during the ride she lets herself go untangible but still trys to keep herself not see through so sasha doesnt know whats up. anyway while theyre at toad tower she tangibles but is really fucking tired most of the time. fight happens and anne is holding on with everything shes got. except she can feel herself losing focus. Sasha says the whole 'better off without me" line but right before she can let herself go Anne goes intangible again so sasha drops but she knows she was still holding on and she could feel anne so what happened? sasha has a lot of questions. Anne has extra grief bc she was the one who dropped sash. yeah...

Marcy at the gates! Anne is fully prepared to float over the wall and stuff but doesnt bc fam is in danger and oh hey theyre saved and thats a weird looking newt let me float over and help them but- oh. that is a human. who has just seen me be very much not alive. shit.

Anne pretends that nothing happened for a bit and goes tangible and all that while theyre doing the barbirant quest thing. After fight she explains and marcy is broken. She brought her best friend here and now shes dead. She killed her best friend. Breaks so hard in fact that she spills the secret to Anne who is like "what. i- i need time to think" so they dont talk for multiple days besides the king andrias meeting**. Anne eventually lets Marcy explain why and friendship is very strained but Anne learns to move on. Not forgive, not yet, maybe not even ever, but move on. It happened, and all she can do now is deal with the consequences.

**CORE LORE HEHEHE. So actaully gonna slightly change some core lore and shit. Anne takes one look at the crown and it like "that thing is evil and I dont know why" bc she has some extra spirit senses now. She tries to focus in on it and her eyes flash blue for a second and she catches a glimpse of thousands of orange spirits, all with to many eyes, floating around the crown and whispering in Andrias's ears. She cant see them again, but is very suspicious of Andrias now. Thankfully, the core didn't see her. Or did it?

One little spirit, mostly ignored by the rest, saw her looking. For some reason, it doesn't feel compelled to tell the rest of the hivemind. It knows they wont look in it's mind, it has long lost all usefullness, only around because it was forgotten. It itself can't connect with the rest, and has no reason to want to. It follows Anne, leaving the core behind. It watches, silent. Until one day, Anne catches a glimpse of it following her. She doesnt day anything until she is alone. She calls out, "I know you're there." It is surprised, but becomes visible to her. (only her. thats important. but yeah the core ghosts have more control over theyre visiblity and shit.) She is surprised. It seems... so small. "Who are you?" It seems to think. It does not know. It's name has long faded from memory. It tells her so, and she softens just a bit more. "What are you?" It perks up. This it knows the answer to! It tells her of the Core, the collection of Amphibia's greatest minds. She understands why she dislikes the crown now, and what she saw that day. But she also knows that this little fellow wont hurt her.

Anne has a little ghost buddy now. She names it Clementine. (It's faintly orange, just like all the other Core ghosts, but slightly less as it is nearly entirely removed from the hivemind.)

But one day hes hurt or something and they all find oit and either Partys like. Or. It goes the bad route and Party freaks out, and accuses Ghoul of being a spy or something and tells him to leave and theyre both yelling and he leaves because surprise! he doesn't feel safe anymore, and in his mind hes been abandoned like he has by everyone else, and he hates himself for what he is and how it drives people away. Meanwhile the crew is tearing itself apart becuase Kobra and Jet don't have the same reservations as Party about droids and Kobra especially gets pissed and storms off after his best friend that was just fucking kicked out so there's the venom sibling angst there too and jets just like freaking out like worried for ghoul and dissapointed in party but also shes just like in shock because shes desert born she knew there were droids in the city but nothing really about them like what they looked like or if they were people or if they could even leave the city and ots all something shes never thought of till now, when suddenly one of her friends is one. So shes a mess and shes torn between going and finding ghoul and Kobra or staying and dealing with party all the while trying to work out her own opinion on it all, which ends up being that she may not know anything about androids but ghoul is still ghoul.

There could also be a venom sibling version of all this, where, again, asshole party poison, but its kobra thats the droid, and maybe hes always been or maybe poison did have a sibling once but they were replaced for some reason and what replaced them became Kobra. Maybe Kobra doesn't even know hes one. Maybe they're not blood siblings, maybe Kobra was a kid poison picked up off the streets or early on in he zones, and theyre not blood but they might as well be, but kobras secretly an android. Or maybe something horrible happened to him, and he was recently turned into one, whether he was experimented on or something equally horrible, and his mind was transferred into the body of an android or he was just so fucked up that like everything in his body was replaced by mechanics, maybe purely as an experiment to see if it worked, if someone could survive all that and still have a fighting spirit.

Whatever it is, then everyone finds out, party finds out and same thing, either theyre like oh i was wrong, yea of course you're still my brother, or party freaks out, feels betrayed, scared that there was an imposter in their life for so long, and accuses kobra of being a spy or whatever, and kobra like im your brother. Uhhhh i do rlly like the idea of two spirits in Golden Freddy. I think even jusy Dying by something can cause you to possess it.

I think the more gruesome the death, the more fear, especially the more prolonged, the more remnant is made.

I think Cassidy was killed AFTER being stuffed into Fredbear/golden freddy, she was killed by (at least primarily) a springlock accident. I don't think she died fast at all. And also she was basically melded into her Possessed Object. (CC is...very different case to this. Died because of fredbear(maybe techincally inside him), prolonged death. Michael is a corpse. Remnant doesn't stop the body from rotting. It slows it. The bodies in the suits still rotted, michael is still rotting. I think he's a very weird case. Like, the metal he techincally shouldve possessed has gone and left the building. He is possessing his body, which is well. A body. And not a piece of metal. I think he gets weird out-of-body experiences a lot. I believe he HAS to replace and repair himself, probably with metal and scrap parts (he certainly has some metal left over from ennard. I have never seen so much mishandling as i seen with those three characters 😭😭(like bro i get that the most noticeable arc that ppl retain is the white bone spirit arc bc of OSP BUT THEY DIDNT STUCK TO THAT CHARACTERISTICS IN THE LATER ARCS LIKE CMON NOW—bajie couldn’t even lie about the dragon piss medicine in a later arc, what makes yall think he’s always a fantastic liar. Theres some benefit to his lying but they also backfire. BAJIE DO END UP LIKING EVERYONE LIKE HE REFER TO SWK AS ELDER BROTHER!<- no man could ever live up to the wonder of zhu wuneng. He just sweet n he does get a fantastic arc in the novel!

Tang sanzang does have some(albeit rare moments where hes nice but his asshoole moments sometimes intertwined) where hes like “yea my disciples r greats but theyre mad ugly.” Or that he gets better at having more trust in his disciples besides zhu wuneng. Even if its followed by hella traumatizing moments that no human person would remain sane like that. <hes just barely holding on by his faith, his mission and his disciples. Not his horse bc he cant hold on to save his life but that character arc where he DIDNT FELL OFF THOO!>

Hmmm I know about the Sun Wukong & Tang Sanzang dunking but is that happening with Zhu Bajie too? Have to say I find that a little surprising given that (if memory serves correctly) Monkie Kid did say Zhu Bajie's main fault (well besides the whole being a man-eating yaoguai thing) was being stubborn, but then lego Patriarch Subodhi said he became one of the hardest workers of the pilgrimage. I guess I was under the impression that people were more light on their criticisms and thoughts about Zhu Bajie, but maybe that's just because he doesn't seem to be a point of great interest in the lego show fandom lol.

Kind of funny story anon but I've been vicariously growing in awareness on how much Zhu Bajie is loved in China through @antidotefortheawkward's posts about the pigman. And yeah, I can see that being in large part because Xiyouji in its totality does give a very different impression of who these characters are and where they end up than a cartoony summary can provide. As a number of people on this site have noted for example, the White Bone Demon Arc can be understood in a much more complex light than "Tang Sanzang & Zhu Bajie hurt poor monkey for nothing" when placed in the context of it being more near the beginning of the journey when the pilgrims were still grating against each other a lot & it happening very soon after the whole debacle with the Ginseng fruit tree. Here after all you can see how the monk has a recent history of getting into serious trouble from the monkey lying and being quick to destruction, so he would be primed to not believe SWK, not to mention he does hesitate to use the headband against SWK more than many give him credit for here. And YEAH given all the things they go through together I am more willing to accept a Sun Wukong and Zhu Bajie enemies to friends arc than that put on many another character.

Also LMAOOOOO Tang Sanzang DOES seem to have quite a few lines where he tries to comfort terrified individuals by telling them that the pilgrims are good people even with their rancid looks (ugly pilgrim rights <3). And oh dang anon you are so right about how even if Tang Sanzang is much more of a static character in comparison to SWK it's kind of a shame more attention isn't given to the series of horrifying events he goes through and what effect that would have on him so that he gets a little more depth than "weepy monk who's mean to the Monkey King & falls off his dragon horse" in the popular western imagination. But then again I can understand why the monk's trauma is largely downplayed in western cartoony retellings, given that said lighthearted cartoony retellings probably wouldn't be the best medium to even touch on stuff like human butchery, death threats, sexual assault, and the consequences thereof.

compiling all my un-witness protection hcs into one post because. well why not

deadwood as whole is a fairly small town. one small school, the only highschool is actually outside the town. everyone from deadwood gets the bus out there and theyd all know Of eachother if they dont know everyone personally

because deadwood is Fucking Weird kids from there struggle fitting in once they go to the highschool. while a lot of them would be in larger more typical cliques, they tend to group together whenever they can

abilities like seeing/talking to spirits arent.. uncommon? its not like everyone has them and generally it isnt Spoken Of but theres a much higher concentration there than youd find in any other city or town in prime

which is how the upp formed! group of highschoolers from deadwood, all from different social groups who would never typically interact all realise they have some sort of Sight

i just realised theyyre literally like in scoobydoo. this wasnt on purpose oh god

anyway. the group was probably formed both by william (wants to investigate the goings-on but cant actually talk to spirits, only see them) and a more popular, extroverted girl who like probably had a bit of a crush on him but also agreed that something needed to be done and they could do it

just bc deadwood doesnt have heroes doesnt mean teenagers wont get hero complexes! erm

onto the actual upp! theres around 5-6 of them. 2 girls, 3 or 4 guys. i havent fully decided on a number, maybe one guy drops in and out.. for future consideration

im hesitant to give her names but one girl Is called mary. not the extroverted girl, id say shes more of their navigator and is big into survivalism. urban trespassing girlie

theres totally a jock. like there has to be. hes actually a lot smarter than people give him credit for

i think for abilities.. william has the weakest Sight but his investigative skills and motivation make up for that. also sometimes he throws sticks that helps

another one of the guys has the strongest abilities. he can see them vividly and can speak to anything that CAN speak. probably in the same boat as william, he'd be an outcast without the upp. maybe theyre close friends :)

they dont actually go into the woods unless they have to - theyve grown up on stories of how dangerous they can be and how easy it is to get lost or turned around or just Taken, even in groups

typically it was graveyards, old buildings, maybe a trainyard or something idk whats in america

if they were dealing with aware spirits, typically all they needed was some sort of easier seance/exorcism, maybe just having someone to tell their story to, maybe a mystery solved

theres monsters in deadwood too, though. procedure for them varied wildly from RUN AWAY to finding out who they once were and helping them back to that, and then the typical seance/exorcism, to just asking it to go away

after williams incident, they dont fully drift apart. maybe for a while after he left, until they were sure whatever curse he had brought on them was gone with him. they tone down the investigative side of things, and have less cases as a result, but they still do what they can

cant wait for all of this to get decanonised ^_^ itll be awesome. um hope u enjoyed. feel free to ask more details bc i left a lot out actually to try focus on the group instead off Just william. a few of my general deadwood hcs are in here so you can ask abt those too ^_^

i do think this song is nice, it has good flow and the beat is pretty nice with lots of oppertunies to change the genre. Like this big group piece is probably the bridge which is a nice connector to any more hard hitting places

and honestly i do like that they went for a softer approach here, that the thing that won in the end wasn't perpetuated violence but something gentle.

i feel like it wasn't the best ending out there but it was satisfying. tied up some ends pretty nicely and kept the status quo without mucking canon up too hard. As an anime original storyline i think they handled it quite well

WHile I don't have all the thoughts to encompass this episode yet, it was overall really nice! i enjoyed the story overall and while the pacing was meh as always and you could tell where the budget went, the anime introduced really good characters that I really enjoyed. Beginning Gate quartet was so much more intresting to me than Secret Aliens. THe only thing I wish they could have done better is put some more focus on BAT and DH as it is their anime debut. Oh well, I'm happy with what we got anyways.

okay. alright. hello hi i care about them a lot. this is going under a readmore because i'm about to get super fucking rambly

first i wanna say even though these two literally occupy my thoughts more often than they don't, it was cedar and fable who have pioneered this ship and i am simply someone who tripped and fell ass deep into it. a lot of this was first established by them and this is just kind of my take on it. also note my embarrassment is purely because of their status as like… Well Established Characters in popular fanon and that's all. i am simply shy

so this kind of all hinges on s3 (and also kind of on landry having his own form outside the jacket, in case "literally only present while inhabiting someone during a game" is still as common a hc as it used to be?). jess gets stolen by the Tigers at the end of s2 and, seb being seb, is of course going to help jess move from philly to hades. they've seen each other around (steaks and tigers have played at least one series by this point) but they haven't really interacted.

jess is settling in, seb is tagging along because he has time to spare before next season - to quote cedar, seb uses this time as "oh, time to flirt with someone who i have heard of and think is cool". landry is thrown by this a little bit if only because he's not used to that sort of attention from people (even attention from Hadeans errs less on the side of "wow he's handsome" and more on the side of general veneration/respect for one of Hades' guardian spirits). but seb is sweet and earnest (if a little mischievous) so landry gets very catlike about it. gets close/touchy but isn't really a natural flirt. bonus: jess fucking hates this the whole time. she doesn't know what's worse: him blatantly flirting with her new teammate or landry actually being into it. she hates that they are making her perceive this. that's about as far as it gets pre-season imo but i'm not 100% married to that idea either

s3 starts and the tigers & steaks only have one series together, days 16 17 and 18 out in dallas. seblandry kind of gravitate back together, seb invites landry over after a game (i like to put this after the first game) and this is where it kind of catalyzes/solidifies enough that they're both like. okay so there's something here. it's kind of casual but it's also easy and comfortable enough that it's easy to go 'oops feelings keep happening' - seb doesn't have any of the expectations of landry that someone from hades might, and imo (informed a LOT by cedar's characterization of him) landry is the kind of person that has spent a very long time learning and connecting with people, and seb appreciates having that same close attention paid to him. theyre both very caring people at heart. this is the crux of it.

they spend the rest of the season making excuses to see one another when they can. once the steaks are eliminated from the postseason seb goes to all the tigers games. and then landry explodes :) and seb has to deal with the emotional fallout :)

more thoughts, somewhat less expanded upon post-seb alting at the end of s4. altseb did not have this thing w/landry because he doesn't have the same closeness with jess that led him to go to hades in the first place. landry finds him in the hall when he dies and it Hurts when seb doesn't recognize him. imo seb does not do well mentally in the hall, at least between s7 and s10 (and for awhile after) and landry like - tries to help him, not in a "if i do this you will care about me again" way and completely in a "no one here deserves to suffer, and you are one of the ones i feel like i can maybe help" way. altseb sort of accepts it but it's. tense? it's not romantic. it's landry trying to help keep him from drowning and altseb getting more and more frustrated by the circumstances of the trench/the hall as a whole. altseb thru s10 gets more and more antsy up until day 10/X, he tackles an ump and gets incinerated again, etc etc. so now they've both watched the other die even if one was technically an alternate. from here on it gets even more nebulous and i am also much more familiar with discipline than expansion so. i don't have a lot for in there

but, because i am like a dog with a bone and cannot let this go, i have thoughts about memories and the Alternate and what the black hole does to realities and what it might do specifically to fanloreweird outliers like the phones (this would take another several hundred words. oops) and what life was like while trapped in the black hole. & for the new era i need to see what they're going to do with the currently-dead players, if anything, or if the black hole is just going to exist in perpetuity, before i solidify anything there. but i want seb to remember things and i want them to reunite properly and if i see my chance in the new era i will grab it with both hands and not let go. i may also eventually consider the branching path of 'let's pretend alternation doesn't exist' for some fun hall stuff in the future.

i like how clearly and plain yoh has said this about tokageroh. i feel ike tokageroh are those characters that need things to be said clearly even if he’s still lost to what yoh is referring to. Tokageroh is also a very interesting counter to ami to confront him since tokageroh is just bad bad bad and his origions were as bloody and malicious as ami was (as bloody too) but just and good intentions.

OH AND SPEAKING OF PLOT now that i got the green light allow me to infodump a bit about what i got for them -w-

So like first off bc im not a super huge fan of enemies to lovers (and also a bit of projecting) most of the things i imagine with them are in an au where Haruta is like,, not as much of an asshole and is an actual sorcerer. For a bit of backstory he used to be a student at Kyoto High but ran away after being presumed dead (the first time his cursed technique manifested actually. He was thought to have died fighting a cursed spirit but his technique saved him but still left him with Trauma).

So for a few years he just wanders around stealing and maybe killing curses here and there. Basically hes a homeless little fuck who may have killed people. Somewhere along the line he met Nanami back when he was still working his office job and just kinda follows him around, eventually deciding to return to being an actual sorcerer at the same time Nana does.

And uhhhh yea now Nanami has a parasite following him around and as embarrassed as he is of it, everyone knows he and Haruta are dating cause of how little the bastard tries to hide it.

That... Is surprisingly close to what I wrote for my convenience store Haruta that got chipped away by captalism and met nanami again after shibuya LMAOOO ESPECIALLY THE HOMELESS PART AKDJDJJFD. But he's a bit more cranky rather than devil-may-care (jobs do that to you)

But yeah if they were to meet in better circumstances, i think haruta would be in cohorts w anyone when trying to tease nanami (looking at you blue eyes, white haired twink) but nanami forgives him all the fucking time and whenever nanami gets angry everyone just hides behind him.

Also Haruta bakes good bread and packs him lunch with it but if he pissed him off its store bought bread and it just made him powerless the whole day while haruta (assume he works at jj-high as well atp, like supervisor or substitute teacher) hangs out just fine w everyone and teases him all the time cs that just the little shit is.
