Falling and Confessing Headcanon ~ Umehito Nekozawa

Author's Note: Since my other account @cheekyredwillow got deleted. I am adding some of my favorite fanfictions to this account and revamping this one. I hope to make an actual list of fandoms I am still a fan of! NO requests for the time being.

On to the headcanon!

~You ended up joining the host club

~Only because Kyoya saw your design skill as an asset

~You could make posters to show off the host club

~You were actually the same age as Tamaki and Kyoya

~Which led you to meeting Nekozawa soon after

~Well after the twins pestered him to come out and meet you

~You didn’t know that Nekozawa had been watching you 

~Call it interest 

~But really a hard crush

~To the extent where he left a Beelzenef plush in your locker as a way to show he was interested in you

~(which you totally kept on your bedside)

~And the twins just had to have you meet him

~This first encounter caused him to yell at the twins before completing falling apart when you handed him Beelzenef

~Before you could ask him about it, he ran away and avoided you for weeks 

~You were actually curious about him so while the host club was busy

~You moved your way over to the occult club and knocked. You hoped to see Nekozawa again

~Nekozawa peaked out 

~He felt his heart jump to his throat 

~Hands were also sweating 

~But when you introduced yourself with a smile

~He felt like he could relax

~And the nerves he had were pertaining to his crush rather than being scared of you

~After you introduced yourself, you asked if he was free and wanted to talk

~So the two of you went into the occult club and talked for hours, from favorite things to favorite foods, the conversation lasted for hours

~After that incident, Nekozawa would appear more around you

~He felt like in order for you to get to know him, he had to show up a little more

~Which led to his confession 

~The host club wanted to partner with the occult club

~Which just meant Nekozawa was around a lot

~You were asking him about what he thought about the poster that you created for the host club and the occult club

~You made two different versions so the host club could hang posters up for people who liked their club

~And a darker side of posters to represent the occult club

~So you were curious if Nekozawa would like this for the occult club to put up

~And he might have said “God I love you” when you asked his thoughts on the occult club version

~He realized what he said and his eyes widened. He began to run.

~You froze but grabbed Nekozawa before he could run

~When he confessed to telling the truth, you hugged him tight

~He let out a squeak before hugging back. He made a little joke that hopefully that meant you liked him back.

~Which you laughed and agreed.

~The host club definitely teased you two for the rest of the day about your relationship 

~But it still meant you two could begin your relationship and figure out your first date

Summary: The reader is a regular student at Ouran and a member of the black magic club, after a short while after joining the club the reader found themselves quite interested in the president.

CHAPTER 0- The Beggining

It was another autumn for the Ouran Academy. Everything was simple and you had absolutely no worries, only festering anxiety for the path you want to take in the future as you watched the trees' leaves die. 

Classes for the day were almost over, which meant club time. You had joined the black magic club since the occult interested you, not to mention you had quite the crush on the club's president. 

Umehito Nekozawa, quite the man he was. Outsiders only perceived him as a coward, a boy who hid in the dimly lit candle light and behind spellbooks. To you, he was more than that. It wasn't just the sneaky glances of the Tokarev Dynasty creeping from his jet black wig that took your breath away. 

To you, he was a man of passion for what he pursued, along with the judgment lingering from the strangers, however it never stopped him. 

To you, he was the caring man who threw himself blindly to the burning light, just to save his younger sister. 

You admired him deeply, it was beyond words. That's why club hours were your favorite hours of the day. 

The bell rang, snapping you out of your thoughts and fantasies of what will happen today in the club. You quickly gathered all your belongings and made your way to the north building, then to the basement. 

Reiko was seated on the black victorian sofa with silver rose stitching, reading something. All the candles were lit, though she was the only present. 

"Hello, Reiko." You greeted her and sat down next to her, taking out your black cape from your school bag. 

She simply waved instead of replying verbally, flipping a page. 

Soon, laughter was heard. A very distinct one, you could guess who it was in a heartbeat. The laughter got closer and closer, soon Umehito creeped his head next to you, as he stood behind the couch. 

"Hello, Y/N '' he smiled eerily.

"Hi!" You muster out a bit too loud, wondering if your tone of voice was odd but everything was odd here. There was no need to overthink. 

"So.." You added, as the silence grew louder and Umehito resumed the stand behind you. 

After a few more dreadful minutes, he finally spoke. "Halloween is soon. We need a plan for this year." He voiced as he grabbed a book that was previously on the fireplace. 

"We need the perfect curse, indeed." Reiko finally commented on something, not raising her head from the book she was reading.

You pondered for a second however the other two were more versed in magic and curses than you were, as you were still in the learning stage of the culture of it all. However, you did have a gift for fortune telling which you practiced in the club mostly. 

There was another dreadful silence once again, as Beelzenef flipped the pages of the book Umehito was holding with his other hand. Suddenly, he chuckled to himself as he rushed into one of the rooms near the antique grandfather clock and came back after a second. He seemed less enthusiastic than before.

"Something horrible is among us." Umehito spoke. "A curse" a mysterious tone took over his voice.

"What kind of curse?" You asked.

He stopped. "One that's been here the entire time, each halloween. It's the spirit of that female student."

Reiko raised her head.

"I thought that was just a baseless rumor?"

Umehito shrieked at your words, he seemed offended. You regretted your comment.

"There's nothing we can do but wait for the day, then we'll do our best to protect." he said finally.

♡You brushed the wig out of his eyes, "you're very pretty," you yawned. His face was red, you yawned and closed your eyes, "tired," you mumbled. "You can sleep on my lap if you want," you hummed at his request and fell asleep.

There we have it. 24 chapters later, we are at the end of Disce.

Of course I have to thank Bisco Hatori and everyone responsible for bringing OHSHC together. Even if we never get that second season, we did at least get one and the manga did things to my heart, not going to lie. Major props to them for making me giggle and kick my feet in the air.

Inspiration for this fic probably came from reading other people’s fics. One good thing about being part of an older fandom is the wealth of fanwork you can find, and all of the fics and fanart fed me well.

My main goal for this fic was to write something light and fluffy and just to spend some time vibing with the Host Club. I just wanted to get my feet wet and see what writing for OHSHC would be like. I wanted to get a feel for the characters and how to write their dynamics. I hope I was able to find a balance between the ridiculousness OHSHC is known for and some of the deeper characterization. Some of my favourite moments from the series was when we got to take a step back and see all of the hosts outside of the club. While I didn’t include much of that in this fic, it’s definitely something I’d like to explore.

Adding on to that, because this fic is a various x reader (sorta haha), I didn’t get to delve as much into the characters as I would have liked. All of the characters have interesting backgrounds and family dynamics that I think would be fun to get into. In the future, I’d probably dedicate a separate fic for each host so we can see more of them outside of the club. Aspects like Kyoya being the youngest child, Tamaki’s relationship with his father, the twins’ and their identity … there’s some good stuff. I’d love to dive into it :’)

Regardless, I tried to incorporate a bit of the hosts’ backstory into the fic as much as I could. It would have been nice to explore everyone more in-depth, but then this fic would have been massive and gone on forever. Oh well.

I had a great time writing this fic. I loved thinking up new interactions for everyone and just describing their day to day activities. I especially loved writing for Hikaru and Kyoya. They’re probably at least a little out of character, but the sass was non negotiable. I also found that roping Renge into it all was necessary. Sometimes I forget she’s part of the Host Club but she always makes me laugh.

Also in the future, I’d like to include more characters from OHSHC besides the hosts. Ranka, Kasanoda, Nekozawa… I have a feeling I could make some chaos for them >:).

Thank you! These are some very interesting characters to work with; I don't see much writing for them, so I'm glad to do something for them! ^^ Also, I'm glad you enjoy my blog so far!

✧Nekozawa Umehito✧

Right off the bat, Nekozawa would absolutely love a darling that is understanding and shows kindness towards others. Most people don't really approach him due to his status with the occult and his overall appearance, so he tends to get lonely every now and then. He believes that he's not one to get attached easily, but this is disproven once he finds a darling that genuinely cares for him. It would be even better if they got along with his sister as well! His heart fills with joy of the thought of his darling spending time with Kirimi. Maybe she'd like the idea of having them as her sibling... Of course! Because they're an absolute saint!

He'd be alright with his darling being more outgoing, though he doesn't mind an introverted darling as well. Just as long as they're able to give him company and reassurance is all that he truly wants. It would be enough for him that they're by his side and understand the misfortune of his photophobia while also aiding him on that part.

The reassurance is needed, mostly because Nekozawa can become insecure once in a while, causing him to be more possessive than his usual obsessive yandere type. This is only because he truly cherishes his darling, who has given him so much. It would make sense to be fully committed to them in return, right?

✧Mifune✧

Mifune is an extremely overprotective yandere who can be listed to be more on the tame side unless anyone messes with his darling. Adding to that, he is very aware of his unhealthy behavior; being a lucid yandere as well. However, despite the awareness, it doesn't change the fact that he's doing everything in his power to protect his darling. Besides, he's not against getting his hands dirty to keep them from harm's way.

As for a darling, he usually has a soft spot for those who he deems to need his help. It is not meant to be an insult, but those who look to be helpless and have that aura to them that screams they need someone by their side really draw him in. He'll very much expect them to feel a bit offended if a time comes where he tells them this. No one would ever want to be seen as such. It should be noted that Mifune's darling will not be aware of his existence until something happens that draws the line where he has to steal them away. Til then, he will just be watching from the sidelines.

Going back on it, sometimes Mifune wonders to himself if it's demeaning to his darling to make them want to be dependent on him. He wouldn't try to force them, that's for sure, but he will just make it like they're deciding. So, I guess that's good for him. He doesn't really care for how fast his darling can catch on to his methods, it only goes down to how they react. He really does not want to deal with someone extremely difficult, but them being not too much trouble is fine. He can deal with a little bit of struggle. Besides, they'll learn to not be such a fuss when he takes them back to secluded place.

They made an odd pair, Y/n being from the light magic club, choosing to wear white flowly long dresses instead of the school normal uniform while Nekozawa being from the dark magic club often seen wearing all black with his normal black cape and Beelzenef by his side as well.

Y/n sighed calmly running her fingers though her boyfriends blonde hair as he laid on her chest hiding his head in her stomach.

“You’re really pretty you know that?” She said lifting his head so he can look at her.

“Did you know that you’re even prettier my dear?” Causing Y/n to blush when a knock came from Nekozawa’s door.

“Brother?” A soft voice said as the door opened letting a little light into the room.,

“Hi Kirimi.” Y/n said excited getting up from her boyfriends bed and running over to give her a hug knowing she’s gonna start crying because of the darkness.

“Goddess-Chan!” She smiled as Y/n lifted her into her arms.

“Goddess-Chan?”

“Fine.” She sighed before wiggling out of Y/n’s arms and soaking down the hallway to her room.

“She’s the cutest.” Nekozawa nodded before opening his arms for her to fall into.

“You really are a goddess.” He said once she was comfortable in her arms and on his chest.
