No bc fuck tim but it really really bothers me how people ignore his growth like he used to be an asshole and I’ll give tim Stans one thing: now he’s so so so stale but what I disagree with is that this staleness is bc nobody likes him like it’s in fact the exact opposite where everyone likes him so much they dont want to do anything. Even when it’s him surface level challenging Bruce it’s when everyone else is doing it too; but he’s still the backbone of the fam! Etc. and it’s so irritating bc him gaining more compassion and empathy even for people he doesn’t fw is so fun to watch and that’s why the captain boomerang thing was so out of character! (Not in a from the author way but in a tim wouldn’t do that and he and Bruce both knew it which is why it went down like it did. Same way dick killing joker was ooc; not in fanon sense but in a he would hate himself forever for this sense) and speaking of that it’s such an interesting mirror to Bruce who genuinely believes that everyone can grow vs Tim’s it doesn’t matter if they grow it’s not my decision to make like it’s the same but it’s not AND WITH CASS’ IT DOESNT MATTER IF THEY CHOOSE NOT TO GROW I WONT DO IT! like ugh. And anyways even when people acknowledge it they boil it down to “Janet and Jack taught him that the capitalist pigs that they are” like no. This is who tim was. Tim was the kind of guy who’d blame a dead kid for dying. That’s ok. Also Janet and Jack? Please reread anything involving them that’s not a fic like Jack had anger issues and they were both aloof at worst like relax.

not 2 be controversial but I don't think I like the tl*u show

#ive had a day to think about it and idk #like some parts were good but other parts were meh #like if we're talking about it being one of the better video game adaptations that yeah its ok #is it like the most amazing piece of media ever? idk #I wrote out a whole thing and then erased bc it was kinda nonsensical and rambling and stuff #but basically like #I feel like there was too much time spent on adding extra bg info and not enough on actual canon scenes #and the bg info and world building was kinda weak??#obv I was expecting context and extra info and an expanded story but #didn't tie into the already existing story well #some of the characterizations felt off to me #weirdly paced and weird transitions #etc etc #d.txt #i didnt go into this as a hater like i was kinda excited but i am one anyway #I went through the tag and only saw like 1 person who didn't like it so idk #maybe I'll feel differently next episode the trailer looked more interesting #or maybe im just not good with things that are reboots or adaptations or whatever #idk im tired snzzz

Im sure that if the first Thor movie was made today instead of ten years ago, emotionally charged parts like the end for example where Loki is about to be taken by the abyss would be constantly interrupted with badly executed annoying jokes to make sure the audience didn’t have to feel Bad Feeling for more than a second and ruin the whole experience to such a degree I would shoot my brains out in the fucking theater

In the spirit of honesty though, i do the same thing. I ignore/smooth over the parts of characterizations that i don't like or that I'm uncomfortable with

#i never last long as a hater #I'm too fair-minded 😩#That's the problem with trying to engage with the crumbs of depth in a comedy show #trying to parse what elements are part of complex characterization #and what parts are characterization being subservient to the comedy #What things to take seriously or not #and i have my own tastes and a flaw of mine is making young characters act more mature than is sometimes reasonable #both as a reflection of what i was like as a teenager #and as discomfort with characters being annoying lol #smoothing things into always being perfect no mistakes or being obnoxious #which isn't reasonable to expect from a person or a character #I'm fighting with this so much and I'm tired #it should be ok for me to like what i like and do what i want #but i feel guilty for not liking some things #and i feel obligated to always be fair and realistic #there can't be nuance in my enjoyment of something! everything's always black or white! all or nothing!#that's enough exposure for the night #i just felt the need to caveat my previous post in order to be fair and honest #because as much as I'd like to be #I'm not better at enjoying a show than other people are and puffing myself up for being “smarter” isn't helpful #even if i think they're dumb
