okay i’ve got to vent about the nicki minaj situation bc yeah. i used to be a hardcore barb for almost 10 years (2010-2019). and when i say a HARDCORE stan i truly mean it, i had a twitter account dedicated to nicki, she was even following me and often interacted with my tweets when she was online. i was absolutely in love with her and her work. i met my best friend, who’s like family to me, because of her. the pinkprint helped me survive middle school bullying. i followed her through europe when she went on tours. i supported every project, stayed chronically online for her and engaged in petty arguments with people on stan twitter to defend her. i fell out around late 2019 because i felt like most of her lyrics had sounded the same for a while but mostly because she started seeing her current husband, a confirmed rapist. seeing nicki pick up a beef after beef with every young female rapper gives me a huge ick and internalized misogyny vibes. but the beef with megan? it’s been years since i last followed news on nicki, but now i find myself losing my mind every time i see something on here or tiktok. not to mention her twitter omg. it truly feels like i’m witnessing her downfall caused by no one but nicki herself. she’s literally destroying her legacy, a legacy tied to so many memories i made during those 10 years while being her fan, and it just sucksssss. it feels like she no longer has a pr team capable of damage control or persuading her to take a break from social media. she seems to be spiraling with everything she posts. not to mention that ben shapiro tweet, congratulating a white, homophobic supremacist. and the barbz who let her remain in her perfect little bubble, shielding her from any criticism, constructive or otherwise (perhaps out of intimidation – i know, i've been there) and doxing people in the name of what? a millionaire to whom you’re a literal stranger?

i enjoy nicki and meg. they’re my favorite female rappers. & i don’t have to much to say on the lyrical part of this beef just because it’s rap. they’re getting back to their roots lmao. at least it’s between two women who can ACTUALLY rap. anyway, i find it very heinous of nicki minaj to go on twitter & (whatever radio station app she uses) to talk about megan’s traumatic events to her extremist parasocial fanbase so they can harass meg literally for the rest of her life. i think why i find it so heinous bc nicki opened up about her domestic violence trauma with the rapper meek mill on queen radio & twitter about 4 years ago and played out the whole protect black women shtick from then until now. if it really was protect black women would you have to go to the extent your going to. like in 2018-2019 yk what it felt like to be hated by the world. you had a BIG hate train. meg experienced her hate train in 2023. yk what it feels like to be unprotected why would you put her through the same positions if it’s protect black women? & don’t even get me started on the black woman thing like you stamped yourself as the multiracial lightskin black girl. to be black but not really black. looking trinidadian, japanese, and indian! like you’re nicki minaj get a gripppp. your influence and catalogue is way more than arguing with these young adult woman. you’re convicted rapist husband and now registered sex offender, gang affiliated, gutterbutt husband already took years from your lifespan pls don’t damage it further.

ye, Kanye West, 1. June 2018.
Ye, a piece of music that is often forgotten and overshadowed by West's more successful and celebrated albums. An album that is more remembered for West's media outbursts than the truly great peace of music that it is.
The album is raw; West lets everything loose and exposes his more personal and coherent side of himself. In a way, it's honest, like the usual West, but presented in a more serious light.
It consists of six songs, all well connected. So well in fact, that it does not even leave you with a feeling of needing more from it.
The album starts with a shivering monologue from West addressing someone; I think it perfectly shows what you're getting yourself into. On the contrary, the album ends with a recording of Nicki Minaj, which is a small Easter egg associated with the song Violent Crimes.
Now, Violent Crimes is, for many, their favourite song from this album or in general. In my opinion, knowing the heart-touching message it sends, It feels dull. I don't find it as eye-opening as many others, and on my first listens, I found it a bit bland and stale. The other songs easily overshadow it.
On the other hand, there is Ghost Town, a song that got me into this album and made me feel the same way as when I heard College Dropout for the first time. It consists of features like PartyNextDoor, Kid Cudi, and 070 Shake, who has a hauntingly hard-hitting verse that sounds like a child is singing it; it's upbeat as well as sad; and her features on the rest of the album are definitely one of the highlights. Another thing I found great was West's singing, and I wish to hear it more in future projects.
Like usual, you'll find great samples that are staples of West's music, like in Wouldn't Leave. Unfortunately the versus that accompany them this time fall a bit flat, but none the less, they did not diminish the overall experience.
To end on a personal note, I consider this album a staple part of my music journey. It helped me through some difficult times, and now, looking back at it, I'm happy I gave it a try.
I would give it a: Hm... it doesn't make itself pretty; it doesn't care if you like it; you just kind of tag along with it.
If you found my review worth discussing in any way, I'm happy to do so.
Yours trully,
MJ.10.

I’m thinking, with all the time Nicki spends yapping on social media, she could just put all that energy into speaking up about Palestine instead.

once again, i am asking for the general consensus on how old everyone thinks a pokémon character is. this time i wanna know about ppl's headcanon age for zinnia, bc i feel like the interpretations of her age varies even more than lear's.
( again, this poll isn't meant to invalidate anyone's personal headcanons. i'm just curious about how old others think zinnia is. )
