I love your art style so much!! I've never seen anyone else that draws like you do. Were there any inspirations for it?
It's a great question when it takes me all day to gather pictures for it and I have to stop myself before I exeed the image limit on tumblr.
So to make this easier for myself, I focused primarily on media related to TV and the Internet (because you all know what videogames I like and the major animation studios are a whole seperate list onto itself)
But in summary on that end: these studios raised me
Tumblr media
My earliest inspirations came from my grandma reading Calvin and Hobbes comic books to me, my parents allowing me to play Humongus Entertainment games on our PC (Putt-Putt, Pajama Sam, and Freddi Fish), and the beginning of preschool shows on Disney and Nickelodeon, primarily Blue's Clues and Rollie Pollie Ollie.
Tumblr media
I just happened to grow up in the era where all 3 major networks for kids content were starting to hit their strides in making their own original content, so a lot of the cartoons I watched between 1999 - 2010 were in the 90s UPA revival style, championed through the art of Craig McCracken, Gennedy Tartakovsky, and Stephen Silver. (I will say though that Cartoon Network was my personal favorite).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With an honorary mention to WB Animation back when they had their own Saturday block:
(Xiaolin Showdown, What's New Scooby Doo?, Animaniacs)
Tumblr media
Then came the introduction to mainstream anime in the west around 2006ish:
(Naruto, Death Note, Ouran High School Host Club, Panty & Stocking, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
Look I'm not proud of Hetalia, but without it, things would've been different)
Tumblr media
Which intertwined with the introduction of YouTube and the amount of flash animations and other video content I had uncensored access to:
(Eddsworld, Egoraptor, Mr. Weebl, Filmcow, AlbinoBlackSheep, various anime related memes and parodies, various anime abridged series (Little Kuriboh, Team FourStar)
Homestuck is here, not that I ever understood the plot of it, but mostly because I watched a LOT of tumblr ask dubs related to it and those made me want to start my own tumblr ask blog)
Tumblr media
And as an adult from 2013 onward, I appreciated the old MTV cancelled shows, adult animation from Adult Swim, and a couple of animated shows from the post-live actiom era of Cartoon Network
(Clone High, Daria, Mission Hill, Undergrads, MTV's Downtown, The Venture Bros, Steven Universe & Steven Universe Future)

To go back even more ancient in YouTube times I remember back before 2007 on YouTube when I could watch cat videos all day cuz that's all there was with mainly just videos of cat memes and shit like I love those fucking things I remember the cat song:
cat I'm a kitty cat and I meow meow meow and I meow meow meow cat I'm a kitty cat and I dance dance dance and I dance dance dance like wtf that shit is so ingrained into my young mind and will forever be there till I probably die that's some wild shit dude. My young mentally ill mind should not have been able to freely surf the Internet like I did dudes...🥸

really cool video of the Harajuku Bridge from 2005. A nice look into what Japanese fashion - both alternative and not - looked like at the time. Funny how trends have kind of circled back to this era of styling, where old school and j-punk/vkei style is popular again!
(note: only the first 20 minutes of this 53 minute video focus on the bridge and the fashions that people wear)

(this ask is a get-out-of-jail-free card to infodump about osrs)
OSRS is by far the best mmo as far as I'm concerned. You can do literally anything in it. It's so simple. Its just a little medieval fantasy point and click RNG simulator. But that simplicity is what makes it so addicting.
You can literally just do whatever the fuck you want on it. The game doesnt hold your hand at all, and while I can see how that would be overwhelming for new folks getting into the game, its an aspect that keeps me coming back.
It's kind of a single player mmo. Like sure there's content to do with other folks, and it can be social at times, but like your account is yours. Everything takes such a long fucking time in that game, especially if you're playing as any type of Ironman account, that the game feels more personal.
Like I don't play nearly as much as some folks that I know and I still have nearly 5000 hours of in game time on a single account and its not even in the late game yet.
Like sure these stats are pretty decent for an iron, but I haven't even started going most of the end game content like Raids, CG, Nightmare, ect.
Tumblr media
No only that but I legitimately that the osrs content creators are some of the absolute best gaming content on Youtube. By far. It is insane what some of these people do with the game, all because of how much of a sandbox it is.
Even if you know nothing about osrs or Runescape in general, I would HIGHLY recommend checking our SoupRS on Youtube and watch his Gielinor Games series. All of them. Start with the first season, and watch them all if you like it. Its like a survivor style game with challenges, voting, bannings, and testimonies, all through the lens of osrs.
Settled is one of the funniest motherfuckers on Youtube and has multiple videos about region locked accounts that are still easy to understand for folks who have never played the game.
Jeporite has a NorthernUIM series that leaves me in hysterics every video.
J1mmy is one of those content creators that turns everything he touches into something good. I cannot praise all of his videos enough, including the ones he makes that arent related to osrs. However, his osrs F2P series is one of my favorites.
Hannanie is a trans woman content creator that just makes some of the most off the wall insane videos I've ever seen. Seriously, she made a fucking 21 part series about cutting fucking trees in this game and managed to make every installment a banger. Hannanie is a treasure and everyone should know her content.
Imo the only gaming content on YT that comes even close to osrs is probably Minecraft, but that is mostly because you can do so much modding that the content stays fresh.
Also look at my silly little pets:
Tumblr media
I promise you I spooned the shit out of every single one of them.
Rock Golem at 89 mining, Groot at 86 farming, TWO fucking rex pets before 140kc, 42kc thermy.
Plus with the RuneLite client, you can make your in game interaction as customizable as you want. My whole client is fucking Miku themed lmao. The community has made so many amazing plug ins for this game including a full HD client with dynamic lighting effects, increased GPU distance rendering, ect.
OSRS is a great fucking game and you should definitely be playing it. I will take full responsibility for the thousands of hours that you lose to it. I could go on but this post is already a lot longer than I was expecting it to be.
As an aside: Ironman does something to you. Why do I have 117k Light Orbs in my bank? Idfk might need em. 20k gold tiaras? Just in case. 10k snake skin? You never know when something might pop up. Hoard Everything.

Love this interview... I have been semi-checking in on Zawe's journey since before certain stans were feeling some kinda way about her recent familial additions. I do for certain Black actors/creators especially, who seem to be moving in interesting ways in entertainment/film media...
-A remnant from a period when I used to go to screenings and blog about films (and was published a few times in a major national newspaper)... So, I knew of Zawe through the grapevine of her mentorship, i.e. she is the reason why Rege Jean Page of Bridgerton fame got to work in U.S. markets, as she sponsored him. And she is known, as one of those "good eggs" who will be accessible and help/advise especially young actors of color. ...But, I have some other stuff to say. This isn't about proving that she's an amazing human being. It's about a certain brand of misogynoir that some of these people far beneath her in self-knowledge, self-love, and just plain grown-ass-woman-personhood...keep letting fly in what they *think* are compliments, but actually are just trite microaggressions. Saying things like "as long she makes [T-blank H-blank] happy then she's alright" as if he's the centered human and her attachment renders her worthy somehow. Babies, as long as SHE'S happy. Yall. He's marrying up.
WAY UP and the fact that he knows this? Actually elevates him. She's been there.
She tells a story in the above interview that reminds me of Uzo Aduba's anecdote about her name , - of an incident when she was called to an early job (at 6!) and someone there said she wasn't pretty because of her gap and her Ugandan mother took her on past this person and into the room, ANYWAY.
... She learned a specific self-knowledge and self-love, that is necessary in very white western spaces that constantly pressures a narrow sense of worthiness and beauty, especially from Black women, something a lot of these small-minded stans don't even have a notion of seeing beyond. Zawe is biracial, and her features, aside from her skin tone are very African. So while she benefits from colorism, featurism is something I've seen those bigoted stans, pick on as well. She knows those features are what makes her beautiful and knew that, w/o and before her partner saw that too. And people who aren't blind narrow-minded ignoramuses can *also* see that. This is why I assert the fact of featurism needing to be in the conversation of light/dark privilege conversations. Lips, nose, gap, and even the set of her eyes are ethnic beauty markers within quite a few spaces in the Black African diaspora... My mom was an absolute stunner because of her gap.
Even the old school white model Lauren Hutton got there because of her gap. Uzo Aduba, who I have already mentioned has a deeper skintone and has similarly large round striking eyes, gap, and a non-pinched-nose *rightly* played Glinda in NBC's production of The Wiz a few years back, with Dorothy saying she's so beautiful *because* of those features, not despite them as a very narrow white-washed gaze would wrongly assert.
Tumblr media
And while we're here that includes sizes and shapes too. I'm saying your boy is enjoying all that plush. A lot of yall need to read or reread Maya Angelou's Phenomenal Woman, for comprehension.
Anyway... All this to say I know Zawe is and will be fine regardless.
P.S. Maya Angelou *also* had height, and gap and was very much known for her beauty/magnetism as a woman when she was alive. :

Aim to pop balloons and score points by launching clowns into the air with a teeter-totter. That's how Circus Atari brought a fun and timeless concept - originally created by Exidy - to the world of home system gaming.
Nevertheless, this game goes beyond mere simplicity and challenges your skills and strategic thinking. With a total of five clowns at your disposal, each one counts.
Failing to catch a clown on the teeter-totter results in a comical crash and their swift departure from the playfield. But fear not, as you can quickly introduce a replacement clown by pressing the controller button, launching them from the trampoline located at the playfield's corners. However, a bit of finesse is required to ensure that each new clown lands on an unoccupied part of the teeter-totter, preventing unwanted collisions.
Circus's unique charm lies in its evergreen appeal. Many other companies have attempted to replicate its enchantment by releasing similar games under various monikers. Yet, the Atari version and Clowns on the Vic-20 remain close to my heart as personal favorites.
Again, Despite its straightforward concept, the Atari title offers a surprising level of strategy that keeps you entertained. Time your jumps with precision to position yourself strategically between the rows of balloons. This allows you to maximize your balloon-popping efficiency within the limited timeframe, scoring as many points as possible in just a few seconds.
Additionally, making effective use of the side trampolines is essential. By allowing either clown to land there, you can create a momentary respite from the frantic action when needed, providing a brief pause to regroup from the psychological pressure of preventing the clowns from crashing to the playfield.
And truly, there's a unique satisfaction in skillfully popping the row of red balloons situated above the blue and yellow ones. Not only is it the most challenging row to clear, but the reward includes bonus points and, more importantly, an extra life.
Without a doubt, it's a classic and a game I continue to relish even today.
