Fia/Imani is crazy because not only is it "I fell in love with you in the future but then you ceased to exist and I missed you so much but you have no idea who I am" it's also "I brought you into existence by saving the life of your great great grandmother as a child so before last week you were never even born"

OLD SKIES Unleashes: Your Next Adventure Awaits

OLD SKIES launches the time travel point and click adventure game on Steam Deck, Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. Thanks to the nonstop creativity of Wadjet Eye Games, we’re getting memorable release. Which you can find on Steam and GOG. From the devs who gave us Unavowed and the Blackwell mysteries, comes a brand-new, time travel point and click adventure that’s all about choice, consequence, and chaos: OLD SKIES launches and it’s everything we hoped for — and then some. Imagine being a time travel guide. That’s Fia Quinn’s job. She works for the ChronoZen Time Travel Agency, babysitting rich folks through history so they don’t accidentally erase the moon landing or cause World War 17. Most just want a peek at the past. Others? They’ve got unfinished business. And while Fia’s not supposed to care why they’re jumping, well… stuff happens. Time gets messy. OLD SKIES launches you through seven different missions, all set in New York but across 200 years. We’re talking the dangerous streets of the Gilded Age, shady Prohibition-era speakeasies, and even the World Trade Center… the day before 9/11. This isn’t just a sightseeing tour. It’s personal, emotional, and yeah — sometimes brutal. Expect brain-melting paradox puzzles, moral choices that hit hard, and death. Lots of it. Luckily, time resets. Just don’t get too cocky. This title isn’t just another point and click adventure — it’s a passion project that’s been cooking for six years from the brain of Dave Gilbert, the guy behind nearly every Wadjet Eye classic. He first messed with this time travel idea during a game jam (under a fake name, no less), and now we’re finally getting the full deal.

What’s new this time? For starters, the OLD SKIES launch is gorgeous. We’re talking crisp, hand-drawn HD visuals (1920x1080) by Ben Chandler. The soundtrack by Thomas Regin? Absolute vibes. And the voice acting? It's Wadjet Eye’s biggest cast ever, and they crushed it. If you’re a fan of Unavowed or the Blackwell series, keep your eyes peeled for Easter eggs scattered all over. But even if you’re jumping in fresh, this title is built to pull you in emotionally from the first scene. OLD SKIES launches at $19.99 USD / €19.99 / £16.74, plus a 10% discount during launch week on Steam and GOG. Want to dive even deeper into the vibes? Grab the original soundtrack for just $2.99. And yes, Linux and Steam Deck players, this one’s for us too — Wadjet Eye’s always treat us right. So if you’re into story-driven adventures, clever puzzles, and getting your heart stomped on by time travel logic, OLD SKIES is calling. Time to suit up, fix the past, and maybe — just maybe — make peace with it. Which you can find on Steam Deck, Linux, Mac, and Windows PC.

Just finished Old Skies, Wadjet Eye's latest point-and-click adventure and I just need to express how phenomenal it was. I grew up playing (and LOVING) LucasArts's Loom (which, looking back, is not the source for my obsession with fiber arts and music, but definitely probably played a part). But it means that Wadjet Eye's story-focused retro point and click adventures (with STUNNING art and music) are always my favorite things in the universe). And the story is always so amazing, I can't even handle it.
Anyway. Even though the more pixelated art of Wadjet Eye's other stuff is my favorite style ever, I loved the art style, loved the music, loved the STORY. Loved the characters. The settings were incredible. And I adore adventure games with time travel mechanics that play into the puzzles. And the Dave Gilbert New York Cinematic (gameatic?) Universe was on full display here (as well as the tendency towards weighty moral decisions that have no easy answer and thoughtful consideration of setting and immersive worldbuilding).
(I am such a Wadjet Eye fan that I don't think we could play for five minutes without me calling out a new york landmark or a reference to another game. It was AWESOME.)
Anyway. If you like point and click adventures, time travel, and/or excellent stories involving both of the above, I cannot recommend strongly enough for you to check out this game. And this studio.
#old skies#wadjet eye games#also the futuristic non-heteronormative and casually queer characters made my heart sing#I had no idea about that going into this game in particular#(though ever since technobabylon I have noticed and loved the queer characters in Wadjet Eye games)#adventure games#point and click#also if anyone has played it a) that's AWESOME and b) let me know if you are amenable to talking about it because I loved it SO MUCH

Old Skies
It’s been seven mostly quiet years (outside the publishing of Strangeland and Hob’s Barrow), but Wadjet Eye Games is finally back with a new, in-house developed release, and just taking a look at one scene in motion will make it clear why it took so long. Dave Gilbert’s newest game since Unavowed, Old Skies seems like a major shift in his style of subject matter and presentation, but it becomes very clear pretty quickly that this time travel thriller is built on a very familiar foundation, just with a unique new look. The lower resolution sprite work used by previous games from the studio has been given an HD shift with full background illustrations and a very interesting animation style that results in something visually far richer. It helps to serve some familiar themes of Gilbert’s work all the better in one of the most polished titles the studio has ever released.

Old Skies is due to Explore History and Mysteries

Old Skies release for the time travel adventure game is closing in on Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. All thanks to the creative genius of Wadjet Eye Games, their titles just keep getting better. Due to make its way onto Steam. What if you could travel back in time? Fix mistakes, solve mysteries, or just see history up close? Well, that's exactly what you'll be doing when Old Skies releases on April 23rd on Linux. In Old Skies, you step into the shoes of Fia Quinn, a time-travel escort working for the ChronoZen Time Travel Agency. Her job? Make sure her clients don’t mess up history while exploring the past. Some clients just want to witness history, while others have unfinished business they need to settle. Fia’s mission is simple — keep history intact and deal with any chaos that comes her way. But let’s be serious — when time travel is involved, nothing is ever simple. Old Skies releases you into seven gripping time-travel adventures. Since each is set in a different era of New York City's history. You'll visit the roaring speakeasies of Prohibition, face down gangs during the gritty Gilded Age, and even navigate the tense hours before the September 11 attacks in 2001. Yeah, it’s intense. One of Fia’s first big missions? Solving an unsolved murder that happened just hours before 9/11. No pressure, right? But here's the kicker — death isn’t the end in Old Skies. Make the wrong move, and you will die. But don’t worry—time travel has its perks. You’ll just try again, and again, and again until you get it right.

Why You Should Be Ready for the Old Skies release:
Explore Seven Eras of NYC: From Prohibition’s underground bars to the dangerous streets of the Gilded Age, history is your playground.
Mind-Bending Puzzles: You'll need to think in timelines, solving problems that twist and turn with every decision.
You Can Die. A Lot.: But hey, time loops mean you can keep coming back until you figure it out.
Next-Level Graphics: The title looks stunning with 1920 x 1080 hand-drawn art. That’s three times sharper than the indie hit Unavowed.
Epic Music and Voice Acting: Thomas Regin, the composer from Unavowed and the Blackwell series, is back. Plus, it's fully voice-acted with Wadjet Eye’s biggest cast yet.
Meet the Mastermind Behind It All
Dave Gilbert, the guy behind indie classics like Unavowed and the Blackwell series release, has been cooking up Old Skies for nearly six years. It all started as a little time-travel experiment in a game jam, but now it’s shaping up to be his most ambitious project yet. This isn’t just another adventure — the Old Skies release is a love letter to New York City’s history, packed with twists, puzzles, and high-stakes drama. And if you're a fan of Dave’s past games, keep an eye out for some sneaky Easter eggs. So, mark your calendars! The Old Skies release is due to arrive on April 23rd. If you’re into epic stories, time-travel chaos, and puzzles that’ll mess with your brain, this is one adventure you don't want to miss. Along with support for Linux, Mac, and Windows PC, so wishlist it on Steam. Because let’s be honest—what could possibly go wrong when you’re messing with time?
