He got up, the clammy seat pulling his skin. An oppressive humidity engulfed him as he entered the bedroom. Condensation dribbled on a small misted-up window as bits of cracked wallpaper hung limply. Its floral pattern was covered with gruesome photos and newspaper headlines. Danny pinned the week-old article on top of a picture of lacerated scalps. A faint pang of hunger hit him, and he wondered when he had eaten last. Was it this morning, while washing his knife and clothes? Or was it last night, after following that girl down the street? He couldn't remember clearly.

Taking a step back, he admired his work on the wall. His mind drifted, remembering all the articles he’d written, the stories he’d planned, and the scenes he’d brought to life. - A shiver ran through him. A chilling breeze transformed the bedroom's humidity into an opaque, freezing Fog. A woman shrieked. Dead leaves crunched under his feet. He smiled in anticipation.

Danny died a short time after his murders, the police had found him and shot him several times in the torso. The lead had eaten into his body, and the last thing he saw was the black thing that had brought him back to life. He woke up in the morgue, and from then on he had devoted himself to the entity. 'Ghostface' and his sister Yara left Roseville to start a new bloody life in New Orleans.

DEICIDE - Banished by Sin

Oldchool, à l’ancienne mec le dernier brûlot de Deicide !

Où sont les hommes ? ça se maquille dans le black, se froufroute dans le glam, s’épile dans le hardcore, se torche avec des orties dans le grind, et le death se popise avec le metalcore.

Au pays de Satan il reste les mâles. Deicide en fait partie. Sans fioriture, ni zozotement et bégaiement, le mentor et provocateur Glen Benton dégorge le pue des enfers et crache de la lave avec sa basse depuis 35 ans. Ce satanique rapporte depuis son premier riff que le seul dieu à sauver devrait être vous-même. La vengeance au lieu de tendre l'autre joue. L'homme est un animal comme un autre et que Satan représente tout ce qui peut être appelé péchés et qui peut mener à une gratification mentale, physique et émotionnelle, et qu’il a été le meilleur ami que les églises aient connu, et le sera à jamais !

SLAYER moqué pour son comeback laisse à Deicide avec son mépris anti-chrétien la coupe pleine à savourer comme étant l’unique dépositaire à la loyauté satanique ‘’musicale’’. Cossu comme une armoire Normande, ce 13eme album hache, vitupère, grogne dans une cruauté oldchool. La brutalité de Deicide est sans concession…funéraire, la bête ne veut pas crever, elle continue de mordre et pas la peine de lui balancer des religieuses à bouffer, elle rejette la croix de toutes sa haine et pratique une goétie méphitique.

L’album détient cette aspiration décadente, ces saveurs de gibier riffiques, cette voix aussi hargneuse qu'une incantation irascible, ces atmosphères malsaines, cette peau rythmique meurtrie par les coups de fouet, tout s’obscurcie dans un désir fiévreux de franchir les régions supérieures et brumeuses du phosphore sonique.

C’est une fois de plus une démonstration de maestria que Deicide honore de toute sa passion blasphématoire, assoiffé et impitoyable pour un death metal fétide et acariâtre, dont la cruauté dégoûtante rappelle les tourments de l'Inquisition. Cette chevauchée dans la pureté apocalyptique du death metal satanique américain éclot en 38 minutes pour 12 titres mixée et masterisée par le talentueux Josh Wilbur (GOJIRA, MEGADETH, LAMB OF GOD, TRIVIUM...).

Deicide applique les lois des ténèbres et sa toute puissance provient du satanisme pur, il en règle la suprématie dans toute la superficie saillante des titres de « Banished By Sin » qui en est pourvue et démoniaquement fourchu !

it's a damn camera that's just taking photos, hence its center's position allowing it to see everything that it sucks up and it Bird of Paradise-esque dance in curtain form mofo's probably not even trying to eat people, just doing what it's designed to we never see it dump flesh, though, just blood and non-cloth items so maybe both? it takes the shot and then eats? it ate the horse statue because it thought he was offering it like the other dude (or just the eyes) then it got pissed at the painful betrayal and we heard its roar for the first time before it attacked him and sucked up Ghost after that, it showed up to the show early af and ate everybody (possibly o'dude last considering his stare and the dirt increasing around him) so the chimp was set off from being frightened by the pop sound and Jean Jacket was by the pain betrayal? he named it Jean Jacket to say "this is your horse and your time for fame" since dad took it away from her (because she wasn't ready?) when they were kids and he got their first gig (that failed) funnily enough, main dude's first gig failed too sis definitely ditched home because of dad's rejection and didn't care about the ranch as a business we never really get to know them as people in their daily lives, especially her he's of the oldschool (on Lucky) and she's of the newschool (on some futuristic-ish motorcycle) the fact that JJ just wanted to take their picture, though lul so its internals are made of cloud and air? 🤔 Host committed suicide because he didn't want to endure the fame all over again ("dawn's coming"); like TMZ dude, they don't know what they're getting into maybe it turned to curtain form because it couldn't get somebody for the 2nd time and wanted to be efficient? (hold up, lemme get a better camera) interesting that it tried to turn back into disc form (iirc) after taking the giant balloon what if it's a probe of sorts? just taking photos and shit for somebody else? like the mosquitoes in Ben10? Host had two of those cameras, turns out

Edit: Just realized while typing up the Top of 2022 post that its curtain form was an oldchool/vintage camera that requires a dark cloth cape. Here’s an image of what I mean. They’re probably called “folding cameras” btw. Holy shit, that’s a theme. Its disc form is newschool (like the motorcycle) and its curtain form is oldschool (like a horse). Sometimes the newschool fails (like everytime its EMP-ass is around and when it fails to suck up somebody for the 2nd time), so it reverts to the oldschool (like using a horse to evade it or snatching a target up head-on). No, I ain’t explorin’ that any further than I just did. #NoEssay

VENOM PRISON – Erebos

Troisième album via Century Media pour les Anglais de Venom Prison en quatre ans, ça ne chôme pas.

Venom Prison fait du metal moderne, mixage de plusieurs sous-styles dans un univers de plus en plus vastes, volubiles, et mouvant. Haine et vice du death metal oldchool avec l’introspection et les traumatismes émotionnels, psychologiques qui pourvoient sur la brèche pour un opus de deathcore mélodique. Le côté brutalité et technique est présent, et il n’y a rien à redire. Des humeurs heavy metal font leur apparition. La tumeur bénigne d’un crossover se déploie très largement, c’est progressiste. La vocaliste Larissa Stupar pioche dans le suc growlien et déterre le musc, c’est impressionnant. Mais lors d’une première écoute l’album trépasse dans sa multitude, dans son jargon à remanier. Il fait chaud et la clim fonctionne, difficile de s’acclimater. C’est décousu comme une veste de The Dillinger Escape Plan, et c’est une raison de remettre l’ouvrage et de s’y adonner à plusieurs reprises. Car nous ricochons dans notre ambivalence entre certitudes et doutes, voilà pourquoi nos affects se jouxtent à la collision sonique, par pure espérance.

Effectivement avec un peu de recul sur la matière, Venom Prison bouleverse, brouille, muscle son jeu, le détend, abat ses nouveaux atouts, fait corps avec sa folie, s’acharne à vaincre notre réticence. Parfois il faut reculer dans le temps pour apercevoir et saisir, sentir en son for intérieur revenir la compréhension, le désir. Trois grands styles pullulent, death, post-hardcore, metalcore.

« Erebos » est un album complexe, multiple, saillant, il demande de l’attention et du temps.
