My first movie was an otters documentary in a huge 360° imax theater. Needless to say, all other movies since then have been a huge disappointment.
what's the first movie you remember seeing in theaters? don't try and be all edgy and cool and say like tetsuo: the iron man. be honest.
Go!!

Arcane Season Two
Okay, so the first three episodes of the second season of Arcane have melted my brain, and I love it.
The first season I watched twice, both on my laptop while I played Mass Effect on my desktop. I planned to do the same for the second season, so I got ME all loaded up, started an easy mission I wouldn't have to give my full attention to, and hit play.
Five minutes later, a Thresher Maw ripped Shepard's face off while presumably Garrus and Wrex watched in bewilderment as she fired at Jupiter because I was unable to look away from Arcane for even a minute.
Truly, this season is teaching me how rampant my second-screening has become by making it impossible. I gave up on my Mass Effect plans, put Arcane on my big desktop screen, and spent all three episodes on the literal edge of my seat, screaming internally and frequently externally.
Some reasons (not exhaustive):
The fucking ART. Oh my GOD. I'm not even someone who has strong opinions about animation, but HOLY SHIT. Season One's animation and style was good, but this season has taken it to a whole new level-- a level that I did not know existed. I want to watch it on a giant IMAX, or like one of those Omnimax theaters at the Science Center, where it could literally melt my eyes out of my head. It's actually heartbreaking that I can't watch it in like a movie theater. I could cry.
The music, same, though to me the music choices are on par with the first season (which also did an amazing job with it). "Heavy is the Crown" literally shook me.
An extension of the above, the fight scenes and montages are both so fucking amazing, I don't even know what to do with myself. I've been shaking random friends by the shoulders who don't even watch the show, trying to explain why I'm suddenly feral.
I knew this would be a season where the characters would let out their dark sides. Cait's arc is so dark but so in-character for her, but in a way that makes me scream and scream. And when Vi said she was ready, we all knew she wasn't, but it was still so satisfying to see it play out-- how close she got.
Long story short, I can't believe that this season is set to surpass S1 in my mind, but I am so fucking ready for the next episodes to drop. I am suffering. I am screaming. I am squealing in glee.

J54 ~ Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències
València J1
Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Je finis la journée appareil photo à la main. Je suis encore bien malade et fatigué mais j'ai la chance de me trouver seul dans mon dortoir (est-ce à cause de mon état de santé ?).

Froggie's Cinema Adventures
I really wanted to see Indiana Jones in a Dolby theater. I have been too sick to go as of yet.
What I didn't realize is that Mission Impossible was released on a Tuesday.
Who releases a movie on a Tuesday?
So Indy got kicked out of the Dolby theater.
So I guess I'll go see Mission Impossible at the Dolby and maybe go see Indy at that mom & pop theater I have been wanting to try.
And then when Oppenheimer comes out, I am going to try IMAX. The only problem is the only legit 70mm theater is our science center's Omnimax dome theater. Everywhere else is just a bigger-than-average screen they call IMAX. Usually the best movies for an IMAX dome are ones that are made specifically for a dome. But I am curious what a nuke might be like surrounding me. And even 30 years ago when I last went to the Omnimax, their sound system was AMAZING. Probably the best audio experience I've had in my life.
Though I won't be going to any movies if I don't start feeling better. So there is that.

The Vegas Sphere opened last night showcasing really a new medium of immersive entertainment somewhere between cinema and live events…it’s essentially the 21st century version of omnimax but the level of picture quality, scale, and sound quality as well as the support for live entertainment and 4d effects really turn it into its own thing! U2 opened last night, and the thing I’ve spent the last year of my life working on, Postcard From Earth, opens in one week! Check it out!

Fitzpatrick Scale and Laser Treatments: What You Need to Know
Tumblr media
Two people undergo laser treatments. One walks out with smooth, flawless skin. The other deals with burns, irritation, and disappointment. What caused the difference? The Fitzpatrick Scale.
Laser treatments are not a one-size-fits-all solution. Your skin type plays a critical role in how well a treatment works and whether it’s safe. The wrong laser settings can lead to burns, scarring, or pigmentation issues, while the right approach delivers the transformation you expect.
If you’re considering laser treatment in Mississauga, understanding your Fitzpatrick skin type is the first step toward safe and effective results.
What Is the Fitzpatrick Scale?
The Fitzpatrick Scale is a scientific classification system that categorizes skin based on how it reacts to sun exposure and laser treatments. Developed by dermatologist Thomas Fitzpatrick, this skin tone scale helps laser specialists determine the safest and most effective treatment settings for each individual.
Some skin types absorb laser energy easily, leading to effective results, while others are more prone to burns or pigmentation changes. This is why every laser treatment in Mississauga should begin with a Fitzpatrick skin type assessment before selecting a procedure.
Schedule your appointment
Fitzpatrick Skin Types: Where Do You Fit?
Your Fitzpatrick skin type is more than just a number—it’s the key to choosing the right laser treatment. Here’s a breakdown of the six types:
Type I: Very fair skin, often with freckles. Always burns, never tans.
Type II: Fair skin that burns quickly and tans lightly.
Type III: Medium skin that sometimes burns but gradually tans.
Type IV: Brown skin that tans easily and rarely burns.
Type V: Dark brown skin that almost never burns.
Type VI: Deeply pigmented skin that never burns.
Each type has a different reaction to laser treatment in Mississauga, making it essential to match your treatment to your skin type to avoid unwanted side effects.
Best Laser Treatments in Mississauga for Every Fitzpatrick Skin Type
Not all laser treatments are suitable for every skin type. The wrong laser can lead to complications, ineffective treatments, or increased risks of burns and pigmentation issues. Here’s what works best:
For Fitzpatrick Types I–III: Lighter Skin Tones
Lighter skin has less melanin, meaning certain lasers can effectively target hair follicles, scars, and skin imperfections without affecting the surrounding tissue. The best options include:
Alexandrite Lasers – Ideal for laser hair removal and skin rejuvenation due to their precision and effectiveness.
Diode Lasers – A powerful option for deep penetration, offering long-term hair removal and pigmentation correction.
For Fitzpatrick Types IV–VI: Darker Skin Tones
Darker skin contains higher melanin levels, which means traditional lasers may cause burns, scarring, or hyperpigmentation. The safest choices include:
Nd:YAG Lasers – Designed to penetrate deeper into the skin, reducing the risk of surface damage while effectively treating unwanted hair and skin concerns.
Diode Lasers – A versatile choice that minimizes pigmentation risks while delivering long-lasting results.
At Kaizen Medspa in Mississauga, we use state-of-the-art technology like SharpLight OmniMax S3 and Venus Versa, ensuring safe and effective laser treatments for all Fitzpatrick skin types.
How the Fitzpatrick Scale Affects Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal works by targeting melanin in the hair follicle while sparing the surrounding skin. But the contrast between hair colour and skin tone plays a major role in the success of the procedure.
Light skin with dark hair (Fitzpatrick I–III): The ideal candidates for laser hair removal, as the high contrast allows for precise targeting.
Darker skin with dark hair (Fitzpatrick IV–VI): Requires specialized lasers like Nd:YAG or diode lasers to safely and effectively remove hair.
Blonde, grey, or red hair: More difficult to treat, as traditional lasers struggle to detect the melanin in lighter hair.
Ignoring these factors can lead to poor results, skin damage, or ineffective treatments. At Kaizen Medspa, every client undergoes a personalized Fitzpatrick scale assessment before starting any treatment to ensure maximum safety and effectiveness.

The Cladding Market Boom: What’s Driving Demand and Innovation?
The global cladding market size is expected to reach USD 386.04 billion by 2030, as per a new report by Grand View Research Inc. The market is expected to register a CAGR of 7.3% from 2024 to 2030. Increasing construction spending, particularly for non-residential applications such as office and commercial sectors, is expected to drive the adoption of claddings, thereby driving market growth.
Rising consumer demand for aesthetically attractive residences, along with significant growth in single and multi-family building units due to population growth is expected to drive industry growth. Furthermore, the increasing use of lightweight materials to promote energy savings in households and workplaces is expected to drive market expansion throughout the forecast period.
The market has struggled due to the underperformance of its end-use sectors such as industrial, residential, and commercial construction due to trade restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, high consumer awareness, positive government outlook, and rising product penetration had resulted in the high demand for claddings.
The industry has witnessed extensive competition owing to the growing demand and increasing innovations for cladding products. The entry of major brands with substantial manufacturing capabilities and unique product attributes has fostered market innovation, prompting existing companies to collaborate with each other or engage in extensive R&D.
Cladding Market Report Highlights
The terracotta segment led the market and accounted for more than 35% share of the global revenue in 2023
The office application segment accounted for the revenue share of 33.9% in 2023 and is expected to witness significant growth on account of growing employment rates, combined with regional growth of established industries. These factors are propelling the need for new office spaces which use various types of claddings for aesthetics and energy-saving purposes.
Asia Pacific is projected to witness substantial market growth of 8.0% from 2024 to 2030. The region is generally characterized by high temperature and extreme climatic conditions, which is anticipated to propel the product demand for the exterior protection of structures.
New generation claddings do not allow organic substances to settle on the surface while anti-bacterial tiles with light-activated antibacterial surface coatings kill bacteria. These tiles are increasingly being used in household and hospital applications.
