dynamic meters are a super fun mechanic and i really want them to get properly introduced in the upcoming beta bc tamarack and qiu are supposed to change the way they treat the mc. they are a really good way to showcase another facets of the characters personality and build unique dynamics! imagine tamarack with an mc she constantly gives a hard time to bc she feels safe enough to tease them like that. or qiu, the kid who everyone idolizes, looking up to the kid they cant quite catch up to..... and i def think their expression elements are unique for their characters, an admiring tamarack wouldnt be the same as an admiring qiu a silly little idea for a mod for olba is adding dynamic meters from olnf to replace the build your own cove mechanic. it would be hard but also fun to play around with the code... from my view, cove as he is falls into the deferring/unassuming/admiring category towards the mc... i think a contesting cove wouldnt be like, actively trying to be the leader, but rather just cove getting used to a deferring mc. the possibilities are endless....
