It's 2009 and Jack is in the passenger seat of his mother's car. She is driving him directly from the hospital to a place that has a pleasant sounding name that lets his parents talk about it in terms that obscure what it is and why Jack's going there. His mother turned down the radio when they got in the car, like maybe they might have a conversation. Jack is staring out the window with his headphones on, blank-faced while Thom Yorke croons "for a minute there, I lost myself."

imagine going somewhere that you know you might not come back from. imagine leaving behind half-formed friendships and the facimile of your old ones, hand in hand with ppl who want you dead, because its the right thing to do. imagine you don't come back, just like you anticipated, except thats not entirely true. you dont survive, but some force stops you from leaving in peace; it leaves your body lifeless because it has no use for you besides the terror your mind can inflict on others, but it just won't let you die. imagine one day, you're free from the mental prison you've been trapped in. you wake up, but you're still not alive. you're cold and empty and no one looks at you the same because they can't stand to look at you. it hurts because you can't do anything but hurt people anymore. imagine you had no choice in this, except you did, didn't you? its all your fault because you were too curious, too naive, too prideful, too stupid. its all your fault, just like you always thought, and now everyone agrees with you. imagine they wish you hadn't woken up, and you can't help but agree with them. and yet, you do everything in your power to save them all, while you still have people left to save. because you're still you, even if your friends see an animated corpse in your place. you hold onto your humanity with white knuckles and gritted teeth because its all you have left of yourself. and you still lose by the end because you were set up to fail since the beginning. because you are jonathan sims, and the world has no sympathy for you

personal ramble I'll probably delete later: there's something so profoundly frustrating about my mother wanting to talk to me about my job and the creative process and then shifting the conversation to be about our relationship at the mere mention of a name she knows. it immediately stops being a technical fun conversation about art and starts being a nostalgic therapeutic one and I feel so limited by it. help she's stuck in the stereotypical narrative of her personal sorrows and won't let me out.

"It would appear you're in good company then, love!" While Ast/ari/on's life was most definitely up there, he wasn't alone in having quite the fucked up life. It really did seem like the most normal one was Hal/sin, and he turned into a bear when he got too horny.

"None of us are really in much of a position to judge you. ... I shan't, anyhow!" The others were a bit more unabashed with how they judged much of the actions of each other. Jaskier, on the other hand, just didn't care too much so long as they weren't just downright evil.

what if dark enchantress made dark choco's cursed sword to lure him thinking he's actually destine to be in the dark cuz she knew he's trying to find a powerful sword to the better of his kingdom

like my guess is that's why choco's old sword and his new sword has a similar gem bc the cursed sword is supposedly the better and stronger version of his sword

yeah this is my own take on the cursed sword lore cuz that thing felt more of a plot device

Oh yeah I think I’ve heard that theory before (though it was only in a fanfic), and honestly I’d say it’s a pretty good theory. It gives a relevant explanation to the sword that ties back in to the main plot

If they ever explain the Strawberry Jam Sword in canon, I could see this being an explanation for it
