Chapter One
You might have been born in the same womb. But when it came to looks and personality, you two were nothing alike. Your brother, Takeo Gouda, was strong and manly, almost like a gorilla; he might even start to resemble one. He’s also sweet and caring. So, you often wondered how you were related. Since you looked nothing like him, and you were nothing like him. 
You might have been twins, but that doesn't prove anything. At least not to you. Your dad likes to tell you how sweet and kind you are and that you’re the sweetest girl in the world. And your mom always tells you how such beauty and grace was born out of her stomach. That, in the womb, you stole all of Takeo’s beauty, so that’s why your beauty shines brighter than anybody else’s. 
You and Takeo share the same golden heart, but you just won’t admit it. In your head, you're trying your best to be like Takeo—kind and selfless; otherwise, you would never feel part of this family. You’re so in your head that the thought of being kind out of your own volition was impossible to believe; you did it to be like Takeo, not because you’re nice. 
You and your brother were close, but as you grew older, you grew further and further apart. You used to be able to read him like a book, but now it seems like you guys are just not in sync anymore. Nevertheless, you knew something had changed in him these past few days. He’s been acting skittish, always daydreaming during dinner, laughing to himself, and telling you how happy and fulfilled in life he has become.
"How weird..." you said to yourself, looking at Takeo enthusiastically typing on his phone.
Suddenly, he got up and exclaimed, "I’m heading out!" He shuffled quickly to get up and head towards the front door to put on his shoes.
"Hey, wait up!" You blocked the door with your body, ready to interrogate him. "Where do you think you’re going?"
He took a minute to come up with an answer, starting to sweat from the tension, as lying was something he had trouble doing. "Umm... to meet up with some friends?" He questioned, not sure if that was the answer he wanted to go with.
"You don’t seem so sure for someone who was excited to go out a second ago." You pushed even more.
You could see the sweat drop from his face; he was clearly hiding something, something he clearly wanted to tell me but was not sure if he should.
His face was turning red from biting his lips so hard that he forgot to breathe. 
"You breathing?"
He shook his head, scared that if he spoke, he would spill out his secret.
"So, is it a girl?"
All of a sudden, he started coughing profusely, saying, "I-i got to go!" He let out while dying in his shoulder.
He lifted you up, plopped you away from the door, and quickly rushed to put on his shoes.
 You grabbed him by his shirt, making him stop what he was doing. "Takeo, wait."
He looked at you, his face still full of sweat, as he felt that you were going to interrogate him even more. "Y-yes" He managed to let out.
"Look, I get it. You have things you don’t want people to know, especially your family. But please, Takeo, remember that I’m your sister, your twin sister. I’m always here if you need me; I’ll never turn you away." You said it confidently, seeing if he'd fall for your words. You did mean what you said, of course, but this has been going on for too long for you to not pull out the ‘we are family’ card.
He gulped as he decided whether or not to tell you. "Y/N…"
"Yes!" You exclaimed, ears wide open.
"I…I.."
"Yes, Takeo?"
"I-I’ve got to go!" He said, getting out of the house. "But I promise, I promise, I’ll tell you soon. Very soon, Y/N!"
He left you dumbfounded—dumbfounded by the fact that even after you pulled out the irresistible card, he didn’t tell you.
Something smelled fishy, and you had to know!
You run up to Sunakawa’s house, which is just next door, just like Takeo would usually do. You barge into his room without knocking, surprising him since he expected Takeo and not you."Sunakawa! You have to tell me what’s going on with Takeo!"
He put down the book he was reading and let out a sigh. He promised Takeo he wouldn’t spill the beans and would let him tell her at his own pace, but this has been going on for too long. He’s been tortured for too long by dealing with his shtick. From being dragged along to a mixer to getting used like a kissing doll, he had enough of Takeo’s buffoonery.
"I can’t; I promised-"
"C’mon, you can’t leave me out of this." You pleaded, kneeling down in front of him as he sat in his desk chair. "I’m your best friend’s sister; I’m your only friend’s sister. You can’t tell me that doesn’t mean anything?"
He seemed slightly annoyed that you had to mention that he only had one friend. "Fine, but you can’t tell Takeo I told you."
You sat, legs crossed, in front of him, listening carefully to what he had to say. You and Sunakawa had a very weird relationship. You obviously knew him from childhood, but that didn’t exactly make you friends. It was more like acquaintances who've known each other for more than a decade. Well, I guess you two were more than acquaintances…
"So…?" You waited as he thought about whether or not he would tell you. But finally, he decided to tell you, after a long sigh of disappointment in himself for letting him cave to you. "He has a girlfriend."
"…" You shot up from where you sat and gasped very loudly, "Really!?"
You gripped his arms and shook him. "Does he really!?" You pulled him closer to your face, awaiting his answer. Eyes staring deeply into his, patiently awaiting his answer.
He gave out a small chuckle, laughing at your antics, and said, "Yes, really," and gently pushed away.
"Oh, sorry, I didn’t mean to..." You apologized, realizing how you might have made him uncomfortable with just how close you were.
"No, it’s okay. But don’t forget. You did not hear this from me."
"Of course, I would never betray you."
"Sunakawa told me." You let out a sigh as you felt a glare behind you for betraying a promise.
All three stood in the living room as you confronted Takeo about his so-called girlfriend’.
Takeo shot a glare towards Sunakawa, who stood behind you, and as he did, he looked away, pretending not to notice his look.
He still doesn’t know why he told you because you clearly can’t keep a secret to save your life, just like your brother.
"Sorry, I couldn’t keep it in." You looked back at Sunakawa. "But you! You can’t keep this kind of secret from me!" You stated this disappointedly, turning back towards your brother.
"B-but Y/N, I didn’t know how you would react…"
"What do you mean?" You shrugged your shoulders, looking away, feeling slightly guilty.
"Remember that time when you fought a girl because she liked Suna over me?"
That wasn’t the only reason you fought her…
"Meh, I was six. You can’t blame me for sticking up for you. You were saying that you were in love with her. And she rejected you and went for your best friend. In my opinion, she deserved everything that came to her." You said that, proudly remembering that fight.
"And that time when you cursed at a girl because she said I was weird."
"Well… That was five years ago, when I was eleven. How can you blame me for standing up for you? That girl had no right to call you that; only I can." You confidently stated this, slowly starting to see where he was coming from when he said he didn’t know how you’d react.
He had a huge smile on his face when, suddenly, you got tackled into a bear hug. "Oh, Y/N. I love you so much. You’ll definitely be the first to meet Yamato!" Lifting you off your feet and swaying you left and right.
"Can’t…breath…" You mumbled, your life flashing before your eyes.
He freed you from his arms, letting you breathe. "Tomorrow! You’re going to meet her tomorrow!" he said, holding your hands and jumping up and down like a little kid. "I’ll go see her right now and tell her! She’ll be so excited!" He squealed, running off to go see his girlfriend.
"Well, that wasn’t so bad, was it?" You turned around towards Sunakawa, who still looked disappointed at you for calling him out. "I’m so sorry. I promise I couldn’t keep it in; I just couldn’t lie to my brother. Could you ever find it in your heart to forgive me?"
You walked closer to him, giving him puppy eyes. He took a step back as he was stunned by how close you were. "Y-yeah, of course."
"Good, cause I don’t want to have bad blood between us." You said this, relieved from the thought you may have upset him.
"Well, it’s not like I didn’t expect it. You’re a bad liar; I can’t really blame you." He insulted you casually, probably because of the earlier comment about him having no friends. "But I’m not sharing with you any more secrets; you can’t be trusted with that big mouth of yours."
He looked at you with a slight smirk. "Wha-? I wouldn’t go that far. I mean, bad liar, maybe. But not sharing with me your secrets? I’m offended." You smirked back.
"Offended?" He questioned, moving closer to you. "Sure, I’ll share with you a secret, but you can’t tell anyone." He leaned down at you and looked you straight in the eyes.
You started to sweat, nervously laughing as you avoided his eyes. ‘So close…’ you thought, your cheeks slowly turning red.
He opened his mouth and slowly whispered, "I’m going home."
He stood back up straight, a smirk still plastered on his face.
"What? Wait, that wasn’t even a secret-"
He walked toward the door, ready to leave. "Hey! I’m not finished." You ran up to him.
He turned around for the last time and smiled at you before leaving home for the apartment next door.
"Jerk" You murmured under your breath as he left.

Reasons to Live - Writer Edition
There are many reasons to stay alive, but here are some pertaining to writing.
That euphoric Eureka moment where all the struggles you've had lately to piece it all together finally clicks and everything falls into place. It feels like heaven when it all suddenly makes sense and you can finally move forward again.
That feeling after a long dry spell, writers' block, when you finally get to start writing again.
The daydreams you get to take piece in for your favorite OCs.
Finally getting to that place in your writing that you've been so excited for, perhaps the scene you'd had stuck in your head that made you start working on your current WIP in the first place.
Getting that comment that comments on the very things you were writing for in the first place (someone understanding a deep Thing in your writing no one else seemed to catch on to, someone relating to something that you'd hoped someone would relate to, someone being inspired by your work which is all you'd ever dreamed of for your writing, etc).
Having someone tell you that your writing inspired them to start writing too.
Getting art of your OCs just because someone adored them That Much.
Having someone reach out to you about your OCs for no reason other than just wanting to get to know them more.
Someone telling you that your writing saved their life.
That feeling of complete understanding where everything clicks into place and the writing flows effortlessly.
When you finally FINALLY get the courage to post The Thing and it gets positive reactions.
Realizing your writing is amazing, no matter what kind of comments it gets, because you love your writing, which is what matters in the end.
Getting to describe something in your writing that you absolutely are fanatic over.
Getting to infobomb at someone because they show genuine interest in something in your writing you've been dying to talk about.
Having people show genuine interest in your writing.
When you've been through a depressive episode that makes it impossible to enjoy writing anymore but it finally ends and you're knocking out words like no one's business and loving it again.

This is a really long-winded work up to a fic idea/vague character analysis BEAR WITH ME.
this'll be the last HTTYD meta post of the night. It's hard to pinpoint when Cowell fully created the later book's storyline (The seeds really start getting planted in 5, but of course 8 kicks things off, but was that the book when she first truly knew? who knows) but it's obvious the end game plot wasn't conceived by the start of the series. Cowell manages to transition from mostly episodic style adventure books to an overarching plot pretty well but there's some occasional wonkyness. The most fascinating weirdness to me is how the earlier books treat dragons and their societal standing.
I am doing a very out of order re-listen rn so I could be very wrong but while dragons are treated as 'creatures to own' from the start the slavery and mistreatment of dragons by humans starts to really become more textual rather than messy implications by like the 3rd and 4th books. But I don't think Cowell knew if she wanted to Unpack All That Right Now just yet when writing those books, so we get this weird ground where the mistreatment of dragons is there and explicit but none of the characters linger or reflect on it. Specifically in book 4 Oneye is all very "y'all are fucking pig slave drivers" and Hiccup doesn't object or anything but does not think about or engage with Oneye's rhetoric at all. This was a tad jarring coming off of listening to Hiccup giving a massive impassioned speech about how slavery is disgusting and needs to be eradicated in 10 to Hiccup meekly telling Snotlout not to whip dragons for fun in 4. Of course, Hiccup is a child and very rarely do elementary schooler age members of the oppressor class fully understand the abusive systems they profit off of (and obviously Hiccup not standing up to Snotlout is a whole other thing bc Snotlout is a horrible little shit. I'm not condemning Hiccup for not doing much here). Hiccup has all the groundwork of becoming the little leftist abolitionist revolutionary he ends up but he isn't there just yet.
This should have been ground for a bit of a character arc. And yet, it sort of wasn't?? Kinda?? It is but isnt. I think by 7 Cressida knew where the series was going enough to know that Hiccup needed to have a personal reconing with slavery & that's what the Northern Wanderers were for. Hiccup has a close brush with human slaves, gets marked as a slave and comes to see their humanity and dignity despite the rest of his friends and his culture not respecting them or their personhood. On paper, that's decent. Maybe not very good indigenous rep, but decent plot wise. However, it doesn't entirely work. Firstly because Hiccup should already know that captial S Slavery is Bad because of 5. That's a large part of 5. And yet I do not remember Hiccup ever really having much dialogue or internal introspection about slavery and the horrors of it & how it has effected Windwalker and those around him. The narration drills in it's awfulness but Hiccup sort of...doesn't super acknowledge it. Which is weird bc Hiccup is so pro dragon and such a good person you think he might be a bit angry or have some shit to say about Lavalout island or what happened to Humongous (I think there was some 'wow that's awfuls' but nothing much more then that. Or maybe I'm mis remembering grain of salt) 5 should have already done this, but again in 7 we don't get any introspection! The wanderers say a lot of things to Hiccup. They call him a devil, they say that all of history is against his kind, they think that he is inherently irredeemable and should be killed before he himself does harm. Hiccup doesn't think about any of this. And so the attempted arc kind of...falls flat for me. But cool Hiccup is in theory like yeah capital S slavery is bad. Then 8 is what REALLY starts off on Hiccup's abolitionism. Hiccup saves Furious, empathises with the chained monster against possible best judgement, and is disgusted by his torture. He wants to free all the prisoners, everyone locked away on Berserk. This is finally when Hiccup starts having a bit more of a reaction to slavery and imprisonment, and then he starts truly pushing against it out of his own accord and disgust and anger at it.
And yet. Not much inner monologue or reflection or dialogue about slavery outside of Hiccup's talk with Furious. It stays that way until book 9, where Hiccup faces the concept of being a king for the first time and then fights his father for the throne, knowing his father won't do the right thing. So, character arc! We get all the beats but I feel like we sort of don't get the development that goes along with the beats so it doesn't totally feeel like a character arc. Why the internal radio silence? Truly it's probably something about Cowell not wanting to make the books too depressing too early on by lingering on the messed up stuff too hard or something else but. I think there's a very in character and plausible explanation for Hiccup's arc around slavery. And it's all about his father.
The Hooligans are later named as one of the 'kinder tribes' who don't engage in slavery and don't agree with it morally but turn a blind eye to rampant slavery happening elsewhere. Slavery seems to really not be discussed much on Berk, but Hiccup and the other Hooligan boys his age probably grew up with some vague sense of pride in being 'the better ones', for having more honour and morals, something shared by the older tribe members. But this inaction is immoral and even though the Hooligans and other tribes aren't slave fairing, they do abuse and exploit dragons on a daily basis. Book 9 is about Hiccup finally acknowledging what has stopped him from thinking too hard or engaging with the enslavement and mistreatment of dragons. The Hooligans are still in the wrong, doing the wrong thing, upholding a bad system. Which means his father is. Stoick is the HTTYD equivalent of a neo-liberal. He dislikes the disdainful messy bits of capitalism, but he ultimately upholds the abusive and violent capitalist system while helping put down leftist organising. And seeing that in your beloved father, for someone as impassioned as Hiccup, is a fucking bitch. It's what makes their fight so heartbreaking. Hiccup couldn't let himself start down the path of unpacking the suffering of dragons and other humans until it was VITAL to do so because I think he knew things would lead back to the feet of his father, and also Hiccup's own. You don't grow up in an abusive system as a member of the oppressor class without being at least a bit complicit in violence and oppression, and I think that eats at hiccup.
ANYWAY fic idea what if I actually fleshed this all out through fic via like snapshots of Hiccup's various radicalisation moments which then focuses on the gap between 9 and 10 where Hiccup is in the woods for like a year with nothing but dragons, anti war domestic terrorism/sabotage and his thoughts for company while showing more anti war rebellion groups bc surely Hiccup and Cami were not the only ones. Cami's team getting a spotlight. ....thuggory pov??? I have vague fic soup rn and it's threatening to engulf me so I had to get this out somehow.

The Twelve Points of Caleb Canto
Good morning readers and welcome to the latest Shivadhverse novel! As with my previous books, I’m making a draft of the novel available for public commentary, so that you all can help make it awesome. 
This is the fourth book in the Shivadh Romances; early drafts of the other three are available at AO3 and the final press drafts are available in PDF for free, or for purchase as ebooks or hardcopies. While this book features a supporting cast from previous novels, it should be possible (if not ideal) to read Twelve Points without reading the previous books. 
Constructive criticism is welcome! Tell me what you liked, what you didn’t, where my typos are. 
Summary: 
Caleb Canto moved to Askazer-Shivadlakia to live a quiet life, teaching music at a local school and writing pop songs on the side. The country is friendly to trans people, and the school is understanding of his desire to be kinder to the "different" kids than his own teachers were to him. What Caleb did not expect was that a song he wrote would be entered into the Shivadh National Final for Eurovision, or that he would be pulled inexorably into Eurovision and the orbit of the Shivadh royal family. On top of all that, he's managed to annoy UK rep Buck Havard, a bad boy with big ambitions, who nevertheless follows him home to Askazer-Shivadlakia, claiming he needs peace and quiet to write his next album.
Buck desperately wants to win Eurovision and Caleb desperately wants to avoid the same fate, but it's not entirely in their hands...

I've actually had some scenarios locked and loaded for a while so let's go, man
But one by one, the first one is modern fantasy I suppose, I've been thinking about TTRPGs a lot lately, imagine a normal town with fantasy beings in it
We're already in a magical world, this is just a different oneYou know dryads, tied to a forest, ecetera, eceteraHave you ever thought about a forest fire dryad? Because I have, specifically forest fire dryad Idia and yes, I know that making Idia into a nature spirit is an intresting choice, but hear me out
He used to have a small forest that burned down, not on accident, someone wanted to build on the land, but wasn't allowed to due to said forest so they set it on fire, it worked too
Where the remains of the forest would be you can see a few buildings and some town infrastructure
And Idia who felt as the fire ate up every single leaf, branch and bud, as the embers of each tree blistered beneath his skin after he missed the fire being set, lives in an apartment at the very edge of the town, where you can still see some of the scorched grass
Not that he ever does, to him it's been more than proven that the outside is just too dangerous and for all that he does feel ever so slightly pissed at all the people living on the ashes of his forest, he's admittedly a relatively big fan of technology and such
He has a roomate, by which I mean the singular shoot in a pot that survived the fire, it's not growing great, there's a distinct lack of sunlight in the room, though Idia has one of those plant lamps and he really does try to take care of it, but he's also the humanoid manifestation of a natural disaster so it's a slight struggle
He tinkers and sells inventions because he doesn't have parents to get a shitton of money from and has to fund all the video games and fertilizer somehow
Vil is a peacock humanoid because it seems fun, but also because he is utterly cursed
He lives in the same town as Idia, in the same house at that, I like to think a few more of the characters live in town as well, just for the hell of it
He's a locally accomplished seamster and potion seller, used to be an actor and model
He stumbled upon a fey while taking a walk to calm down after an on-set altercation in which he refused to follow a previously undiscussed change in the script which would have completly changed his character within the story and would have landed him in the role of the villain, then proceeded to be told that why he used to play these kind of roles so well must have been because he's clearly just as terrible and real life, he got up then an there
The fey claimed it would grant him a wish in exchange for his name and in a somewhat desperate attempt to both finally leave the image associated with said name behind him and finally be good enough to have the industry stop trying to type cast him, he accepts, but the fey pourposfully misconstrutes what he actually wanted, called him vain and turned him into a peacock before absconding with his name
He feels such a deep shame for that he moves, leaves behind his old job and starts an entirely new life there
For the most part I have no story, they're just neighbours, but Vil keeps plants for his potions, some of them on the blacony, Idia notices how incredibly well kept they are while dragging himself out to get some groceries and instead of asking Vil how he takes care of his plants, he decides to wait until night to try and have a drone fly up there and steal a plant so he can ask it himself
He succeeds too, but the missing plant doesn't go unnoticed, Vil sees a speck of dirt on Idias window sill and he proceeds to go downstairs and confront the weird guy who lives in a house with him if he has possibly seen where his plant went
When the guy who lives upstairs comes to Idias door passive aggressively implying he stole his plant he's indignant, he's right about it, but still how dare he?Vil doesn't have any real proof and searching someone's whole apartment for a potted plant is a bit overkill admittedly, but he's not so easily persuaded, he will try to get it back and if it's the last thing he does
This only lasts about two to three days because Vils potted plant wants to go back so bad and keeps saying it's getting sick just from how stuffy the room is and with some reminders about morals from his own Idia both feels guilty and annoyed enough to try smuggling it back onto Vils blacony, but Vil is prepared, he's so prepared and he gets caught, has to actually explain himself and then show Vil his plant who's stunned that anyone would keep a plant like this and expect it to even grow an inch
He can't let that stand, that little spud just looks to sad, when he finds out Idia is by all technically linked to that plant and kind of one himself he's even more stunned, like if anyone should know what a plant needs to grow, it's a plant, right? You would think that to be the case
Apparently not, so Vil keeps on buying him stuff to help Idia take care of the plant which escalates into full-on gardening lessons, with some amount of foot dragging admittedly
Vil would also really like to know what his plants are saying and Idia would really like for it to stop being stuff like "Kiss already!"
When the shoot in Idias home is tall and healthy enough they eventually plant it outside, though there is more than mild hesitation to put it right where the forest burned down where he doesn't have it with him at all times from Idia
And I like to think Idias embers can heat up Vils potions for him
There's probably a lot more to be said and conceptualized here, but I'll leave it at that

This AU is such a cool idea???
First of all 10/10 love the backstory for Idia. I would fricking love to see a design for him that’s like- an ever burning dryad? I’m thinking of some concepts and they’re so good. Idia deserves to look more inhuman.
Also I find it hilarious that the literal plant doesn’t know how to take care of plants. That feels so in character for Idia. You know he’s definitely not getting his required sunlight and water
ALSO
PEACOCK VIL??
I’m 100% biased (Aventurine my beloved) but the peacock aesthetic is so cool, especially if it gives Vil more bird-like features. Like. Vil with wings?? Vil with the iridescence green/violet male peacocks have? Him with tail feathers?? Incredible. He would look stunning.
Also I think his origin is really fascinating, especially if fey are established. Does this mean the Diasomnia cast live in the town or nearby? Or are there more fey around there are less welcoming to humans as the Diasomnia cast are.
Honestly a fantasy slice of life AU for Vilidia is so cute!!
Going from annoyed neighbors to friends to lovers feels so fitting for them tbh.
This feels like it could be a TV show. Or even an episodic sort of fic with each chapter being different shenanigans and an overarching plot. Once Vil and Idia’s established as friends it kind of leads to them meeting other people and learning about each other’s pasts.
Also if you have anymore ideas for the world in particular please let me know because fantasy world building is top tier uacaauac

2D Working with Line - 10/3/22
Welcome back students , this week students will work with line to develop interesting and balanced compositions. 
I will give a brief lecture via teams at 9AM. 
After the lecture students will work on two different assignments: 
Line assignments - in class 
Franz Klein  - Homework.
Lecture will begin at 9am.
Principles and Elements of art.
Below you will find the terms we will be learning this semester.

From the simple definition of line which is a dot moving through space, that line becomes the starting point of design . **

Line creates a Shape .
When that shape is given depth it develops Form.
That form can be defined further through either Value and/or Color.
Finally Texture provides visual implied tactile sensation.
Space gives objects a sense of depth and dimensionality.
Today we are going to look at different compositional approaches to working with one of the Elements of Art , Line.
Last week, students had the opportunity to see how artists such as Franz Klein are able to work with *Line to develop engaging compositions.
He worked in a large scale format.
As you heard in the videos, those canvases where large in size. When you look at his work , you see multiple ways he works with line.
Line can be expressed in both Quality and Variety .
That means they can be gestural or controlled, thick or thin, long or short , horizontal or vertical , diagonal or curved.
Line can have direction.
This means that can lines can express a  direction such as vertical or horizontal, diagonal left or diagonal right.
For today’s assignment, students will work to create a variety of compositions utilizing Line as their point of design.
Creating 4 distinct and different compositions , students will show both Quality and *Variety of Line.
Variety is one of the Principles of Art.
Principles are guidelines used by artist to make compositional decisions.
I listed all the Elements (tools) and Principles of Art (guide to use the tools) above and you will have a homework tonight related to the Principles of art.
ASSIGNMENT WEEK ONE
You will begin this assignment today on Monday and you will finish the project on Wenesday.
Here is the assignment:
All work beginning today, will be done on Bristol paper.
You will use a ruler to frame the composition.
Do not cut the paper to the size required.
You need to frame it accordingly.
SUBDIVISION OF A GROUNDSHEET.
CREATE FOUR   (8 X 10 ) COMPOSITIONS ON WHITE GROUNDSHEET THAT DIVIDES THE PAGE INTO A DESIGN WHERE LINE IS EMPHASIZED BUT ALSO DEVELOPS INTEREST INTO HOW SPACE IS IS SUBDIVIDED.
All four compositions will be 8 x 10 inches in size.
Use a ruler to define the surface sheet.
*In this class surface sheet defines the space where your design will be created.
Use ink or black acrylic paint and brushes.
You will work in class assignments as follows:
A) Composition 1 & 2 on Monday.
B) Composition 3 & 4 on Weds.
Once you are ready to work you will comply to the following guidelines:
1) COMPOSITION  A
ONLY HORIZONTAL and VERTICAL LINES
2) COMPOSITION  B
ONLY DIAGONAL LINES
3) COMPOSITION  C
CURVED LINES
4) COMPOSITION D
A COMBINATION OF AT LEAST ONE OF EACH TYPE OF LINE ABOVE.
Please note that *Craftmanship is important in completing class assignments as is the ability to come up with *Creative and *Original solutions to this and all assignments in class.
You will work on this assignment for the next two class days begining Monday.
Post composition A & B by end of class Monday .
Post Composition C & D by end of class Weds.

Homework assignments will be done after class and completed by Tuesday:
Students will use homework time to work on two Franz Klein inspired artworks.
Start out by playing with line as it divides the composition.
Look at your preliminary sketches for ideas.  Now look at the work done in the sketchbook. 
( If you have not done so work on those sketches now after class.)
Use whatever materials are available to you at home.
Be creative and use any material available to you if you do not yet have the class materials. 
From newspaper to brown bag from the supermaket , for today we will experiment with any suitable surface.
Based on your studies create two paintings. 
You will use the Bristol paper for the paintings as directed below:
1) In the first one you will start out with black background and you will add white shapes to it, in doing so you will leave the black to represent lines.
2) In the second assignment you will reverse the process and start out with the white background and break the white background with black lines.
Once you have finished write  brief artist statement detailing your experience. Did you use bold lines, thick lines vs. thin etc.
The Franz Klein paintings will be done in class and posted to Tumblr by end of class today along with the artist staement.
At one time in his lifetime, Franz Klein used to work on paper he would rip out of the yellow pages.
