First USPSA match I've been to in about a year. At the Pro Gun Club here in Vegas after Shot Show. Being ROed by @jjracaza himself. Made some rookie competition mistakes which are things I could fix if I hit matches often. Found some things to work on right away. Competitions are awesome for testing skills. - #uspsa #progunclub #shotshow #shotshow2017 #glock #glock19 #openminor #opendivision #ipsc #rmr #trijicon #jjracaza #ragnarokholster #ragnarok #trexarms #trexarmskydex
You'll hear pro competition shooters say: "you can only shoot as fast as you can see." And this is 100% true. But you can also only shoot as fast as your brain processes information. Shooting isn't just pulling a trigger really fast or really smooth... it's a mental game. Calling your shot one tenth of a second after you've pulled the trigger and then deciding if you need to take a make up shot, or if you can transition to the next target/threat/objective. Focusing your eyes between target and front sight extremely quickly during transitions and the draw. Coming up with split second problem solves when your gun malfunctions, runs dry, or you trip, miss, bump into something, take rounds from a hostile force, or get pushed off balance by fleeing individuals of an active shooting. Shooting is about decision making and problem solving. You can train your mind to make familiar decisions VERY fast by training diligently and having high standards. In this video... am I just pulling the trigger really fast? No... I'm deducing my hits, moving my eyes quickly, and syncing my body to the gun. These are all familiar decisions and actions I have to make. And then I execute. @stiinternational #uspsa #shootfast #movefast #problemsolver #stressshooter #shootasfastasyouthink #acteryx #2011 #trexarmskydex #sti2011 #opendivision #cmore
