okay i've played a bit more and i have a lot of thoughts about Taash and the way gender is being handled overall in this game...

first i will say the positives which is that i do really appreciate the attempt at incorporating trans characters both in the world as companions and allowing us to make those options in the cc. and as someone who also writes dark fantasy stories with trans characters i do understand how difficult it can be to incorporate these identities into a world that doesn't necessarily have the same language as we do; but overall the way they've approached this feels very... i've seen some people call it unpolished but i actually feel the opposite. it's almost clinical (therapy-speak in general has been a main criticism of this game) and it's way too polished, in my opinion, which is what makes it so jarring to see.

there has been a trans character established in game previously, there is already a precedent for these identities to exist in this world, and they have never used this language before. the way Iron Bull talked about Krem felt far more realistic and integrated into the world of Thedas comparatively. was it perfect? no, of course not, but i chafe at the idea that it needs to be perfect, anyways. this is another problem the game has; past characters have had their flaws completely ironed out (Isabela is now a paragon of friendship and returns cultural artifacts instead of looting them, Dorian has multiple codex entries wallowing about how he used to defend slavery, the Crows have suddenly become a big found family-- on and on and on) and while i have my criticisms of some of these flaws (Dorian's pro-slavery rant in inqusition still makes my eyes roll) i dislike the way they're handling these changes and just expecting us to ignore all of the lore and worldbuilding from previous games. and all of this "political correctness" only for the game to still be so racist.

which brings me back to Taash.... Taash is very strange character, lacking agency around both their gender and their culture. they are simply a mouthpiece for the writer. while yes, it should always be made undeniable that your character is trans or gay or xyz, Taash really does only exist to be nonbinary. and to be clear, a nonbinary character like them could be very interesting, if their writing wasnt so... white. we know that the Qun has different ideas about gender than Rivain (and elsewhere) and this could have been a very interesting exploration of that; however, it is obvious that the Qun (and Taash's mother) are meant to be depicted negatively, and ultimately it ends with the player (not Taash) choosing between their two cultures. their gender is clearly far more important to the writer and the only facet of their identity they seemed willing to explore, which makes me question why even make this character qunari to begin with...

Neve and Rook are also the two that spur Taash into exploring their gender. this, on the surface, is not a problem for me. i'm playing as a trans Rook and while the dialogue was again very overpolished and clunky i found it kind of endearing. but the way Neve is used as this "foil" for Taash really rubbed me the wrong way. this assumption that Neve has no complicated feelings about her gender or being a woman (which i highly doubt considering the world she lives in & how misogynistic it is) and the implication from Taash that she only dresses the way she does for her mother/other people (which Neve doesn't even get to challenge) is extremely narrow-minded. Taash is the Only character that acknowledges gender; so far, even when flirting with other characters, it's only been Taash that i've been allowed to specify with that my rook is trans, despite Taash already knowing that from our previous conversation (i hope that this changes once i lock in with a specific character so feel free to correct me if it does).

but no one else really seems to have an opinion except that Neve drags Taash around to meet Maevaris, and we get the very goofy note that's just a list of modern gender identities and their definitions. i do partly sympathize with the writers here; again i've had to find a way to incorporate lgbt identities in my own writing and it can be difficult depending on your audience. i understand wanting to be very clear and concise. but this is... just goofy. and this desperation to be so correct around gender while simultaneously writing such an offensively racist narrative is really frustrating.

there's also an inconsistency that comes from this with Taash's character-- they are portrayed as this rough but awkward character that is bossed around by their mother, they are bashful with flirting early on and are almost child-like in comparison to the other characters. and then suddenly you get a scene with them where they very directly ask if you want to have sex and suddenly pin you against the wall. this scene was so jarring to me i referred to it as a jumpscare because WHERE has this character been this entire time? i want to see more of this, more of this character who takes what they want and knows exactly who they are (which they even say multiple times when you first meet them... but then need Neve and Rook to hold their hand about it?)

i do really like Taash, i like the idea of them, of this very self-assured and almost cocky character who is also a little silly, this person who is so sure of who they are but has to deal with their mother undermining them while also navigating a culture they feel disconnected from, and i also like that the player can help them through it... but the execution is awful, shallow, and racist. the idea that someone can only choose One culture is so offensive and also a laughable conclusion when compared to their coming out as nonbinary. the writer clearly understands that people don't exist within these little boxes when it comes to gender, but can't wrap their head around it when it comes to someone's culture-- which is also a very important part of a person's identity and often contributes directly to their gender and how they feel about it. all of these different characters have different experiences, come from different places, Davrin and Bellara are Dalish and even have differing opinions on what that means for themselves, but the game doesn't touch on any of it. all we get is a lecture from the writer that is completely removed from the world it's presented in.

i wish i could understand what it was this character was meant to convey. i stand by saying that it doesn't need to be perfect; i know there are people that had problems with Krem in inquisition, but at least Krem was his own person. Taash doesn't even get that here... i harp a lot about character agency when i give writing advice on my other blog but it really is so so so important for marginalized characters-- both gay, trans, and especially characters of color-- to have their own agency around their identities that is completely separate from the player & player choice, that allows them to exist as their own person within the world you've created, and i think Taash's character and story is an unfortunate example of exactly what not to do.

one. put it away.

It is the beginning of Hawkeye basketball season and your team is looking pretty tight. Practices have been strong and everyone was working really hard to be the best. With that, everyone has been super concentrated on developing their skills and if there is anything that you know about a concentrated Caitlin it can be the cutest and cruelest thing to you.

It started out cute - seeing her tongue peek out when she was really into a game or when she was going for a shot that took a little more planning. You found it adorable and would often tease her about it at the beginning of your relationship. Fast forward a little and she showed you exactly what that tongue could do causing what was once innocent to be something that had you itching for her in the middle of a packed stadium.

It is another home game and it is going to be a challenging one. You are in the locker room with the team, everyone is getting ready and getting in the zone. You take special notice of your girlfriend who has been chewing the same piece of gum since the two of you left your apartment. Her tongue playing with that piece of gum like she was playing with you last night.

You are sitting there during your team meeting before going out for warm-ups mesmerized by the way your girl is smacking her gum. You feel ridiculous but as you are sitting there, trying to pay attention to your coaches, your knee bouncing a mile a minute to distract your body and mind. She has no idea what she is doing to you.

Once the meeting is dismissed, you all line up to head out for warm-ups. You are standing next to Caitlin and Kate.

"You should spit out your gum before we head on the floor," you say, trying not to draw any attention to the face that your skin is buzzing being so close to hers. Not touching, but close enough to feel her presence.

"Why? It's not hurting anybody," she says with a little laugh, completely unaware of the way it is making you crave her.

"Your girls right," says Kate. "Don't want you choking on it before the game begins."

You silently thank Kate as you see Caitlin spit out her gum. Her tongue runs over her lips and you bite our bottom lip, concealing a moan that so desperately wants to escape your lips.

The team runs out and you all get to warm up. Everyone knows exactly where to go and what to do. As you are shooting threes, you notice Caitlin's tongue makes its first appearance. Your center aches at the sight and you make your way to her.

You grab her arm and turn her so no one can see what you are saying.

"I am going to need you to keep that pretty little tongue of yours away, it is driving me insane," you say. She knows as well as everyone that we all need to be present in the game and by now knowing this newfound distraction of yours she makes a decision.

She doesn't say a word, rather steps back and looks at you, then down to your lips and runs her tongue over her bottom lip.

You instantly squeeze your thighs together to get any sort of friction. To anyone on the outside, it looks like the two of you are just having a conversation. But Caitlin sees your little move and brings you close enough for only you to hear.

"Keep squeezing those thighs together babe, because I am going to have them spread wide open for me tonight," she whispers in your ear then grabs a ball to shoot a three.

Your head is spinning and you forget where you are, your senses are heightened only for her. You cannot believe she just said that to you.

You are brought back to reality when you hear a whistle blow, signaling the game is going to start.

This is about to be one of the longest games of your life.

two. drawings.

It's team dinner night. it is typical for the team to go out to dinner the night before any away game and you always looked forward to getting some time out.

The team was in Connecticut for a game against UConn. Hannah and Jada were the ones to pick the place for your night out. These dinners typically consisted of getting good food because the night before games were always dry.

That is how you all found yourself in this mom-and-pop Italian restaurant. You sit next to Caitlin at the end of the table with Kate across from you. Everyone is looking at their menus when it all starts.

Your menu is on the table in front of you, and you are intensely scanning through the extensive menu. Your girlfriend's hand makes its way to your thigh. You don't think much of it as it is usually just a way for her to ground herself when she feels a little anxious. But little to her knowledge, the way she is looking in her dress has you ready to take her back to the hotel room.

You give her hand a little tap, to acknowledge her and continue looking at the menu. Her hand never leaves your thigh as you all order and start up a conversation about random things. As much as you want to jump into the conversation, you struggle to hear what anyone is saying due to your girlfriend beginning to draw patterns on your thigh.

You take a deep breath and bring your hand down to hers. You take hold of it, not removing it from its place on your leg, but to keep her fingers from dancing over your skin. She looks over at you with a slight frown but you just give her a small smile. You aren't ready to reveal how much her touch is affecting you.

The food comes out and your hand releases hers. You were fully expecting her hand to remove itself from your body but it stays put as she eats with her other hand. Only removing her hand to use her napkin to wipe her face. The second she puts her napkin down, her hand finds its rightful place on your thigh.

When you finish your food, your stomach is satisfied and you lean back in your chair. You are finally relaxed enough to engage in conversation and almost forget Caitlin's hand. That is until it begins to change up its patterns.

You are talking to Kate when your mind goes blank. Caitlin's fingers have made their way to the hem of your dress (you debated if the dress was too short when getting dressed but Cait said it was fine and that you looked good). You are now regretting the choice of outfit as the hem of your dress is quite high and with one slip of the wrist, her fingers would be where you have been waiting for them all dinner.

Your hand goes down to grab hers but she stops you with her other hand. You try to look at her - she doesn't turn to face you, but rather continues her conversation with the girls.

Her fingers are still playing with the hem of your dress, alongside now the inside of your thigh. You let out a shaky breath, doing everything in your power to listen to the conversation.

A pool begins to form at your core as Caitlin's light touch keeps gracing itself on your sensitive skin. She went between gripping your thigh to only letting the pads of her fingertips graze your skin. It is maddening.

You keep trying to give her looks to show her that she needs to cool it but she seems to be actively avoiding your eyes. So you do the only thing you can think of (aside from removing her hand which you know she will fight and you will lose) is to cross your legs. You begin to shift and are about to bring your leg over, closing your thighs to her torture when she whips her head around to you and says one word.

"No."

You give a little pout and try again. This time, she pushes her hand further up your inner thigh, high enough to feel you are dripping from her touch and have been for a while now. You are slightly embarrassed and she is quite surprised.

Not surprised as you are when her finger grazes under your thong, swiping you only once. Then bringing it out from under your dress to meet her lips, tasting you in front of the whole team.

You look around in horror, only to find no one is paying attention to you.

You use this time to cross your legs. Keeping Cait out and releasing some of the tension. Your pupils are slightly blown out and your heartbeat has quickened.

Caitlin leans over to your ear and says, "I can't wait for dessert."

three. messages.

You are the proud recipient of the John R Wooden Award. This year you were nominated alongside your girlfriend Caitlin and were chosen. That is what brings you, your family and your girlfriend to Los Angeles, CA.

You are all dressed up, and ready for the events of the day. The schedule included: the award ceremony, interview panel, and gala. You are all in for a busy day.

After putting on your watch, regardless of the event, you always wear your Apple watch. You are struggling with your necklace when you feel some hands come to your shoulders. Looking up, you see your girlfriend taking the ends of the necklace and latching it around your neck. She turns you around to face her and makes sure it is center before looking at you with a smile.

"You are beautiful babe," she says, giving your hand a squeeze.

"Thank you, love," you say and give her a hug. You both stand there for a moment, taking in each other's embrace.

"I am so nervous," you say. "I hate speaking in front of people."

"You are going to do great. If you need some comfort just look over at me and you will be just fine," she says with a smile. You thank her and everyone gets on their way.

Once at the center where you are accepting the award, the team there guides you through where you need to be. You are there with the male recipient as well which makes this all a little better, knowing you aren't doing any of this alone.

The two of you accept the award and head into the interview panel. You are sitting in front of a large group of people and reporters ready to ask you all the questions under the sun. Your eyes scan the crowd for your person. It takes you a second but you find her. She is sitting next to your parents and coach. You offer her a little wave which she happily returns.

The interview begins and questions come flying at you left and right. You are stiff and have a hard time finding your footing on how to answer them. Not that you aren't capable, you are incredibly smart, but you are much better at playing a game in front of a stadium full of people than sitting in a room full of them and answering questions.

Caitlin takes notice of your stiffness and wishes she could do something to help you relax a little...

As you are sitting up on stage, your foot taps uncontrollably. Your hand is in your lap, bouncing as much as your leg. That is when you feel a buzz on your wrist.

You look down and see a message come in.

[Babe 🤍: Look at me]

You look up at your girl and she motions you to breathe. As she does, she unintentionally licks her lips which causes you to do the same.

[Babe 🤍: Stop the leg tapping]

[Babe 🤍: Imagine my hand on your knee to slow it down]

An innocent statement, meant to help your nerves, takes your mind to someplace much less clean. You take your bottom lip between your teeth as the guy is answering some questions now.

Caitlin takes notice of this and decides to egg you on a little more.

[Babe 🤍: Imagine what my hands could do to you under that table, in front of everyone]

[Babe 🤍: Going to all the places you want them now, making you feel better by the second]

You squeeze your legs together as your cheeks begin to heat up. You are suddenly very warm and feel like you need fresh air. Someone then asks you a question and you answer it without any hesitation. Your mind focuses on the question as your body is on fire.

[Babe 🤍: Good girl]

[Babe 🤍: You'll be rewarded for that tonight]

[Babe 🤍: The question is, do you want it in the form of my fingers or my tongue...]

When you read the last of the three messages, you lick your lips and look up feeling lightheaded. You have no idea how you are going to get through a whole gala before going back to your hotel room. Maybe you won't have to wait and the two of you will find a supply closet or something.

[Babe 🤍: I will take that as you want my tongue]

[Babe 🤍: Well lucky for you I am dying for a feast]

You gulp as your cheeks continue to redden. You take a sip of your water, hoping to cool yourself down.

[Babe 🤍: Good idea on the water, you are going to need to be hydrated for all I am going to do to you tonight]

Looking up at Cait, you see her smirking at you. She then gives you a little wink you just shake your head.

You cannot believe that just happened.

four. denial. (mature)

You and Caitlin were overdue for a date night. Between practices, games, and school - life has been pretty crazy and all you want is to have a night in with your girl.

As much as the two of you enjoy going out, you both opted for a night in. You decide on a movie night, ordering takeout and having a truly lazy evening, just the two of you. Whenever you two do a movie night, you always watch two. One is your pick of movie and the other is her pick of movie. They don't need to be anything alike, but it has helped avoid any fights over who gets to choose.

The food arrives and you two take up your post on the couch. You eat and talk and laugh and really just enjoy each other's presence.

You cuddle up into her as you decide to put on the first movie - it was your choice, The Hating Game.

You are situated between her legs, your back to her front as her arms are draped around your middle, fingers mindlessly playing with the strings of your sweatpants.

As you are watching the movie, you are hyperaware of what her hands and body are doing. Her head is leaning on yours, adjusting every now and then to breathe in your scent and tease your neck with her breath.

Her hands toy with the waistband of your pants and you can't help but get excited. It has been a minute since the two of you have been intimate. Not from a lack of desire but just a lack of time. So being here now, knowing you two have the whole night - you are ready. Beyond ready, really.

Your hands graze her forearms as she reaches one of her hands into your sweatpants. Her fingers lazily play around you as you grow impatient.

"Cait - please," you say and your head leans back into her shoulder and you bit your lip.

"Please what?" She asks as she ever so gently swipes your most sensitive spot.

"Please touch me," you practically beg, wanting to feel more of her touch. She obliges as her fingers begin a work on you.

You begin to pant and moan feeling her fingers go deeper inside of you. She is still taking her time, giving you what you want but going nice and slow - enjoying every second of her girl coming undone in front of her. She loves making a mess of you.

You moan her name as you begin to feel your climax build up inside of you. Her free hand comes up to your breast as it begins to massage it, giving you a little more pleasure. You lean your head up more and use one of your hands to turn her head to bring her lips to yours.

Her lips meet yours and you moan into her mouth. You missed this so much.

Her fingers begin to pick up the pace as she feels you getting close. Not only that but you get quite vocal when you near your climax and Caitlin absolutely thrives off it. It sets a fire in her and she never wants your moans to end.

"Babe, don't stop. I am so close," you moan as your eyes squeeze shut. Her fingers doing a work on you and her lips make their way to your neck, leaving little love bites up and down it - overloading your senses.

Right as you are about to finish, you are met with emptiness. Climax fading before it even arrives. Your whole body jolts and the nastiest whimper cries from your lips.

"Caitlin Clark, what the..." you are about to yell as she places two of the fingers she just removed from you and pushes them gently but firmly in your mouth. You moan into her fingers.

She then begins to sit up, taking you with her. You move to a sitting position on the couch as she gets up and grabs your hand, placing kisses all over the backside of it.

"I plan on taking my time with you little one," she says as she pulls you up from the couch.

"And I am just getting started," she says as she lifts you over her shoulder and takes you to your shared bed.

(Re)organizing Your CAS/Bodyshop Folders

Published: 2-16-2025 | Updated: N/A SUMMARY One of the challenges of themed worldbuilding in Sims 2 is finding the custom content (CC) to bring your world(s) to life. Between October and December 2024, I reorganized my CAS/Bodyshop folders, purging ~4-5 gigs of CC. I wanted to share the strategies I use - Plan, Shop, Sort & Delete!

PHASE ONE: PRE-PLAN WITH A BASIC BACKSTORY Having a backstory for your world is not required  – simming is supposed to be flexible and open-ended after all – but it will make organizing CC easier if you do. The backstory is your rationale for why your sims look the way they do…the basis for whatever CAS/Bodyshop-related CC you decide to use. This should evolve as you start shopping/sorting CC. Skip to PHASE TWO below if you want to skip the “backstory” phase and jump straight into (re)organizing files. First, figure out the WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, and WHY details of your world. You don’t have to figure out everything now. If anything, try to come up with the most basic details. (1) WHAT kind of society do your sims live in (utopian, dystopian, mixed, fantasy, etc.)? Example: Pleasantview is pseudo-utopian, midcentury-style, pedestrian, mostly middle-class neighborhood. Strangetown is an eccentric, comically dystopian town nearby. (2) WHEN do played events in your world take place (recent or distant past, modern-day present, near or distant future, timeless, etc.) Example: Pleasantview and Strangetown are set in the early 2000s, after an alien abduction. Veronaville is 2000s-era take on the English/Italian elements of Shakespeare's universe, inspired by 13th century political factions.

Pictured: My game takes place in a retro-afro-futuristic setting...it's not uncommon to see A.I's, drones, and other non-human sims through the world. (3) WHERE do your sims live in this world? There should be some climate/seasonal clues here. People tend to dress for the weather – your sims should too! Example: Pleasantview is a lush, mostly temperate, hilly/mountainous, waterside, suburb outside of SimCity. Nearby Strangetown is a rural, militarized spot along a desert highway, not far from an alien crash site.

Pictured: My sims live on an arid planet that they terraformed and altered with advanced tech. Their clothing reflects the climate. (4) WHO are the sims in your world? Whether you focus on social groups or individual families and sims, make sure your ideas hint at the kind of lifestyle those sims have (jobs, hobbies, abilities, income, social roles, etc.). Example: Take the social groups from the Apartment Life EP for example. Gearhead townies often have darker, torn, utilitarian clothing. Meanwhile, socialites have more expensive looking outfits appropriate for leisure and high-status career paths. Lilith and Angela Pleasant are sisters with highly conflicting personalities – so they must have drastically different looks.

Pictured: My simlish society includes plantsims and hybrid plantsims (half plant, half human). These sims are more likely to be a part of my eco-friendly faction. (5) WHY do they appear the way they do? Dress them appropriately for the climate and time but make sure they actually look like members of their given social groups. You don’t have to make things historically accurate or logical unless you want to – have fun. Example: The utilitarian/punk-style look of the gearheads reflects their lower income and “toughness.” As nonconformists, bohemians dress in loose, artsy and colorful pieces. Lillith’s darker/gothic style reflects her grouchy/rebel personality in opposition to her more suburban/agreeable sister Angela.

PHASE TWO: GO CC SHOPPING (AGAIN) This is the fun part. Now that you have a general backstory, go CC shopping! Grab everything that might fit – don’t overthink it! If you like it and think the sims in your world might rock it, download it. However, I recommend coming up with some ground rules, such as (1) A maximum poly count range (“faces” in simPE) for hairs, accessories, and/or clothes. Example: I have 32GB of RAM and decent hardware, but I still avoid hairs above 10K poly. If I really want it, I might go as high as 12-13K – no more than that. This is admittedly a conservative limit compared to lots of contemporary simmers. (2) A maximum file size (in gigabytes/GB) for all CAS/Bodyshop CC you’re willing to put in-game at one time. For windows players, SIZE is the actual size of your files/folders. SIZE ON DISK is the amount of storage they take up via system processes such as (de)compression, duplication, etc. Example: A maximum of ~6GB (actual size) of CAS/Bodyshop CC is my self-imposed limit. This keeps loading times and performance ideal since I also use several gigs of build/buy CC and mods. (3) Choose custom body shapes sooner rather than later. More than 50 (!) custom body shapes have been made for Sims 2 over the past two decades. Make sure you can find enough clothing for whatever shape(s) you choose…including career/work clothing. Example: Currently, I use 8 custom shapes - 3 for male/masculine sims (Bodybuilder, Fat, Bear Bodybuilder) and 5 for female/femme sims (Bodybuilder, Classic Pin-up, Dummy Thicc (not pictured directly below; pictured at the end of this post), Momma Lisa, Rio). I eliminated others to stay below my maximum file limit.

Pictured: When choosing body shapes, I spent a lot of time comparing options. If you really like a shape but it lacks clothing, try using it alongside a similar shape. For example, I used clothing for the 'heavy male' and 'chubby guy' shapes on the same sims for a while. (4) Choose REPO’D versions whenever possible. Reposited/texture-linked skins, hairs, clothing, and accessories share image resources across multiple files. In contrast, standalone versions contain a copy of all necessary texture images in each file. Repo’d files are typically smaller in size/quantity and easier on game performance. PHASE THREE: SORT & DELETE This is the annoying part – but the payoff is worth it. I sort my CAS/Bodyshop CC in phases. If the CC doesn’t fit the backstory for my hood or exceeds my limit for poly counts – I remove it right away! I sort what’s left using the following criteria: - weakest fit for my backstory compared to other CC - poly count is too high - broken/bad CC (missing mesh, warped/distorted, excessive clipping, causes lag) - duplicate files and repetitive looks (too many items that look about the same) - repetitive colors (12 colors of each outfit, in 3 different shades/textures each, is too much for me!) I repeat this process anytime I add more CC to my game. During steps 4 and 5, I start recategorizing/townie-fying CC as well (see recommended programs below). I usually save the color/texture-sorting round for last. I just might be able to keep more color/texture options if I’m still below my max file limits (repo’d CC really comes in handy here!). …ENJOY! Organizing CAS/Bodyshop CC is often tedious and frustrating, but smooth, performance-friendly gameplay is worth it! The recommended mods/programs below allow more random diversity in my simlish population, and the sims truly look like they come from my world – not one dreamed up for me by maxis. I don’t play with pre-made sims, so seeing townies and NPCs with “maxis face” in my hood is considered an act of violence! Repo’d items, separates, and recategorized CC makes the same items available to more sims. I end up needing less CC overall…..then again, they also make it easier to justify more CC shopping. 😊 See how I organize my individual mods/cc folders for Sims 2 HERE (2024).

Satoru Gojo

🎮Okay so I really feel like Gojo is in love with the mundane, mostly because his own life is so far removed from it. So, Gojo actually plays a pretty calm game.

🎮Or, he tries to at least.

🎮He has a thousand founders for generation challenges he will never complete, a million builds that he made the shell of and never went back too, and his world is riddled with homeless sims he made for rags to riches stories.

🎮Really, he always goes back to his favorite sim- is super sim that me made on accident. A random sim that he got so attached to he turned aging off so they wouldn't die, and that he tends to and frets over like a favored pet.

🎮He definitely has all the DLC and is a little bit ashamed of it. He even has DLC that he's never touched- like horse ranch. Why does he have horse ranch? He hates horses (Because how DARE An animal of that size be that skiddish and breakable) so why does he own HORSE RANCH?!

🎮So that he still owns all the DLC, that's why. It as just a much a mark or pride as it is shame for him.

🎮He probably has a few script mods here and there, like the cuddling mod or the real estate mod, but for the most part his modding starts and ends with CC. He LOVES CC, mostly cause the Sims team (in his humble opinion) makes shit clothes. All maxis match.

🎮He gets on telling himself he's only going to play for an hour tops at 6 pm and OOPS the sun is up. He swears maxis puts speed in this game.

Suguru Geto

🎮the opposite of Gojo- this man is a menace.

🎮Suguru's got a lot of built up rage he's repressing, and 100% takes it out on his digital dolls. If you're a sim and you displease him- straight to the fenced in pool.

🎮He has the extreme violence and life tragedies mods installed. You know why.

🎮Had his sim marry into the goth family just to murder them and take everything they had. You know- what Don Lothario failed to do.

🎮Oh, that's another thing: He has beef with these pixels.

🎮Like, yes- he knows it's unreasonable and a little childish...But if he ever ever catches Nancy Landgrab on the streets it is ON. SIGHT.

🎮He will just let his sims wreak whatever havoc they see fit. like "Oh, you want to cheat on your husband with the pizza delivery guy when your husband is literally standing right there? Who am I to stand in the way of feminism."

🎮He will also forget sims. Like, he'll set a sim up to do something, go play with a different sim in the house, and it will be like a real word fifteen minuets (keep in mind, a in game day is only 24 minuets) before he realizes the mom has been missing because she's been practicing violin with no end in sight and is about to piss herself. oops.

🎮He has a few of the DLC that interest him, like city living and snowy escape. He has all the occult packs but his favorite is Realm of Magic....duh. He only plays sorcerers and always goes down the chaos magic tree. You know why.

Nanami Kento

🎮Nanami is here to build.

🎮Nanami gets on the sims to build he dream homes and experiment with different layouts and such that he might like. And he's actually gotten really good at it.

🎮Like some of his builds are in the maxis showcase and he's quite popular on the gallery

🎮What determines if he buys any sort of DLC is if he likes the build buy items or not. and as such, most of his mods are also for build buy

🎮He does play a little bit of the actual game too though, but he tends to get board of it pretty quick. He's tried to make evil sims of dubious moral character and he just can not.

🎮Like, when Suguru tells him about his game play he just looks on in horror. What do you mean your sims has five secret families and an artist slave, do you not feel horrible? Have you no shame?

🎮I think Island Living is his favorite pack because he likes Sulani so much. He thinks it's a pretty place for a home. And mermaids are neat- he guesses.

🎮He also likes Werewolves cause Celene is his favorite townie. He started his first ever generation challenge with her and she's had a special place in his heart cause of it

🎮His sim has an artist sim painting locked in the basement that sells painting for the main sim to get money. His sim has romanced and ruined half the town and physically fought the rest.

🎮He genuinely plays to see how much chaos he can cause, and has mods to help him do it. extreme violence, life tragedy, fuck it- wicked whims he wants to see the world burn.

🎮He has all the DLC but that's because he pirated it- which is very cool and sexy of him.

🎮Have you ever seen a kid play with their barbies? The ones that are maybe a lil traumatized and have their dolls going through some of the most insane shit? Kidnapping, drug abuse, domestic violence, murder!

🎮Thats how Sukuna plays sims. You walk in and the house he's playin in is on fire and he's just contently watching as he sips his tea

🎮He doesn't play very often, but when he does he binges it. He gets on for hours at a time, then he doesn't touch it for months

🎮I will say, he does have a special place in his heart for Gregg. A monster that the town fears and hates who attacks on sight? That guy gets it.

🎮Choso has so many successful generations challenges under his belt it's not even funny. He's never played a rags to riches game he didn't knock out of the park.

🎮The only challenge he won't do it the hundred baby challenge. Too personal.

🎮He honestly gets pretty attached to his sims, which is natural all things considered, and is genuinely a little bummed when they die. Oh well, onto the next.

🎮He's pretty bad at naming his sims, so he just lets random take the wheel. Or he lets one of his brothers name them. That's how he got his favorite sim: Giznap Lee Macintosh Bartholomew the Third.

🎮He also has all of the DLC but that's because, like Sukuna, he pirated it. Which is very cool and sexy of him.

🎮As far as mods go- he's never really felt the need to get any of them other than CC. Basemental Drugs maybe- but for the most part he's not super into script mods.

🎮His favorite townie is Bella Goth, but that's because he's been playing this game since Sims 2 and has been following her lore. Oh, you didn't know the sims had lore? It does and it's fucking insane. Bella goth caused Sims 4 to break off into an alternate timeline from the main games- no I'm not kidding

Right. Pinch-Out Experimental Operation.

I think it suffers from pretty much the same problem as Contingency Contract, and that, in turn, means that they either didn't really get what made CC become a drag as the game got older, or it means that, in their eyes, that was never a flaw, it was instead a feature, because it feels like they doubled down on it: Absolutely mind-numbing amounts of bulk.

I personally think the concept of Pinch-Out is good, it's just, the execution was really bad, because the main map is really, really boring, and they insist on adding a lot of HP%+ to enemies. More or less the same as late CC: A lot of combinations end up defaulting to doing the regular map for 2-3 minutes and then you have 8+ minutes of just stalling while chipping away until the map is clear. I'm not going to account for the 6+ hours stall strategies because, quite frankly, you did that to yourself. Still, the same old principle of "stall HP sponges for hours" is the exact opposite of what Arknights does good: Short, intense maps.

The only time Arknights, in my opinion, has succeeded in making fun long bosses are in Stultifera Navis (Endspeaker) and the challenge boss fights in Lone Trail (Kristen, or some say, Kirsten). Other attempts have always felt really boring because they are grabbing old bosses and concepts that were never meant to be fought for an eternity, and then making them be fought for an eternity, whereas Endspeaker and Krikirsten were designed from the get go to be long fights, and thus, to have maps, mechanics, and characteristics that make them fun long fights.

Dorothy and the ZZ Gundams Brothers, however, aren't fun to have roaming forever. They are challenging, but they aren't fun, because there is no dynamism to the fight, especially when you give them 1500% extra HP. It's just a long map that you either prepare for right or wrong in the space of 1-2 minutes, and then have to see play out for the next 10, and if you got something wrong, then it immediately explodes and you need to re-do those 1-2 minutes to see if it works out in the next 10. Not thrilling! Not too good!

Pinch-Out's contract model is nice and fine! I like the way you have to connect things either straight up or by doing little challenges that let you connect to certain contracts without having to pass through the usual route. In fact, it's great that 600 Score (the Risk 18 equivalent in terms of rewards) is perfectly manageable without making enemies God, it just so happens that the Pinch-Out debut map is absolute horrid ass, and so the system gets caught in the drive-by. It's a nice idea, just, please, PLEASE, stop 1) making so many bulk-enhancing contracts for enemies, please, and 2) make a good, fun map, you guys do this all the time, and if it NEEDS to be super long, 3) use bosses apt for it, or outright just design a new damn boss that makes sense within the system and the length of the fight. You do it for SSS, you can do it for this as well.

But yeah, I think Pinch-Out has nice ideas and possibly the worst execution it could've come out with.

Oh, and people who have read my first Galemancer prompt for the week will note that I have added a new character to my retinue: Araja Thruum!

Araja is a character I have attempted to make in the CC multiple times over the last few months without success (for obvious reasons lol) so maybe if I can convince my laptop to not die while running vanilla BG3 I can also convince it to mod as well just for the purposes of taking screenshots and nothing else. But! I'll probably also attempt art of her, maybe for Artfight!

Araja is a half-orc, half fire genasi who hails originally from Volothamp in Calimshan, known as "the gem city of Calimshan". She is a bard, and I like to think of her as a civic cleric - that is, she performs a lot of ceremonies and rites for people that would normally be considered religious, but she offers them an agnostic alternative. For people who don't want to get married under the banner of a god or temple, for example, or for funerals, or even things like Baby's 100 Day Celebration. She's part emcee, part celebrant, and half civil servant.

Her work over time took her travelling and she landed in Elturel several years prior to the city being sucked into Avernus. She helped a lot of children and elderly and disabled folk during their time trapped in Hell, and was utterly incensed when the city turned on the tiefling population after they returned to Toril. She was travelling with the tieflings, mostly to protect the kids, and meets the Tadfools for the first time in the Grove but doesn't team up with them

She is amongst the folk who are captured and taken to Moonrise Towers, and it's there that she sees Minthara in person for the first time while she's being tortured for her failures. She should hate her, but she can't sit idly by while someone is being brutalised like that, and so when Carmela and co turn up to break everyone out, she insists on being the one to escort Minthara back and keep an eye on her. She's unique amongst my BG3 chars in that she's the only one who wasn't a Tadfool, never got a wriggler of her own, but she was always on the periphery of the action, turning up once or twice per act to contribute

She's Remy LeBeau as a 6'4" lesbian who can set herself on fire. She's Rhea Ripley with a violin and a strong sense of civic justice. Wherever she goes, someone already knows her and greets her like a best friend. She's real gay for Minthara because I love trying to challenge myself to think about how two opposites would fall in love

Today's (3/21/2025) Episode: Capturing the Moment

“I’m so glad you’re here” Skye greeted xir parents as they came in the front door dragging their suitcases behind them. “I’m feeling a lot better since my surgery, but I got so far behind on things while I was sick, and having you around is going to be a big help in getting back on track.”

“Thank YOU for having US,” Noemi countered “our place is such a mess with your Grandy Jasper remodeling. Right now, the only way to get into the kitchen is to go around the house!” … not to mention SOMEONE needs to make sure you’re actually safe she thought to herself.

Luigi had gotten an earful after they’d heard Candor’s unedited version of the events leading up to Skye’s surgery, but he’d convinced her to keep those feelings to herself in front of the kids. “The last we want to do is alienate them.” he’d reminded her.

“So, what are you two up to these days?” Luigi asked once they were all settled around the table with some good food and tasty drinks.

“I was commissioned by this elder sim to paint her portrait” Elyse replied, “though we haven’t settled on a good place to meet to do it yet.”

Skye sighed “I was supposed to do a photoshoot for this new clothing store in Britechester that caters to the professional crowd, but I was too sick and now I’m almost out of time. I haven’t had a chance to get anyone lined up to photograph. I think I may just have to cancel.”

“Well,” Noemi told xem, “if you need to do a photoshoot for a clothing store catering to university professors, I’m sure Professor Silva would be happy to help. Also, doesn’t one of your tenants at the townhouse teach at Britechester? Do you think he’d be willing model some outfits for you?”

In the end Noemi’s idea worked out well for the entire household, and they all found themselves at Pepper’s Pub one crisp late autumn day.

Professors Silva and Pawn had both happily agreed to participate in Skye’s photoshoot and they even offered to bring a few more teachers with them. 

The elder sim Elyse needed to sketch had been open to coming to Britechester for her session, and even Candor had wound up at the pub, on a first date that Luigi’s sister-in-law had set up for him.

“Hello there baby,” Skye said, leaning down and enthusiastically greeting the smallest member of xir little band of fashion models. “I’m really looking forward to doing what you’re doing someday,” xe told the other sim “but I’m waiting my turn. My wife insisted on going first.”

“That’s just the opposite of us” his new friend smiled “My wife works with the space program. She wants to be a little more established in her career before she gets pregnant, so we decided I’d have this one. Carrying this little gal hasn’t been all fun and games, but overall, it's been a cool experience and I’m glad I did it. Best of luck to you and your missus.”

“Thanks” Skye replied, “Now come stand right here, strike a pose, and say Freezer Bunny!”

While Noemi and Luigi were inside taking a walk down memory lane and Candor was attempting to see if Eric was truly “boyfriend” material the kids spent a productive afternoon with their clients.

“You’re doing great Ms. Todd” Elyse smiled “I’m almost done with the preliminary sketch and then you can relax.”

“I think the green and blue go great together Mr. Pawn” Skye assured the elder “reminds me of my dad and I, if we decided to both wear one piece of clothing from each of our closets!”

Once they were finally done, they thanked their respective models for their time and headed inside to find their family for a celebratory drink or two.

Noemi and Luigi’s visit grew out of a little CC Purge I did. I removed most of my build/buy cc and it turned out that included most of the doorways (and a few other critical items) in the Sulani house🤪!

Beer Hall Putsch

The Beer Hall Putsch or Munich Putsch was a failed attempt by the German National Socialist (Nazi) Party to seize power, first of the Bavarian and then the German federal government on 8-9 November 1923. The coup, led by Adolf Hitler (1889-1945), failed because other right-wing politicians, the police, and the army did not give their support.

The Nazis & the Crisis of 1923

Hitler became leader of the Munich-based NSDAP (National Socialist German Workers' Party) in 1921, taking over from Anton Drexler (1884-1942). The party was neither socialist nor at all interested in workers, but Hitler had chosen the name to give his ultra-nationalist party as wide an appeal as possible. Known as the Nazi Party, it was also vehemently anti-Semitic and against the German establishment, which it saw as the root of all ills, everything from the signing of the humiliating Treaty of Versailles which formally closed the First World War (1914-18) to hyperinflation. The Weimar Republic, as Germany was now known, was beset by weak coalition governments, which struggled to cope with a series of severe post-war challenges. By 1923, the Nazi Party had over 55,000 members, although this was much fewer than the Social Democratic Party, for example, which had 1.2 million members.

In the summer of 1923, the German government was in the middle of yet another crisis. France had invaded parts of the heavily industrialised Ruhr in western Germany in order to force the country to make good on its obligations to pay France war reparations. The government declared a state of emergency, and the army was given chief executive power. In Munich, the leader of the local government, Gustav Ritter von Kahr (1862-1934), the local army chief, and the chief of the police force were all given extraordinary powers to deal with the crisis. All were right-wing in political orientation, and Hitler saw this as an opportunity to take power, or, even better, to force an invitation to take power from what he considered like-minded politicians and army figures. Hitler ultimately intended to march on Berlin, much like the Italian fascist dictator Benito Mussolini (1883-1945) had marched on Rome to seize power in October 1922 (when the Italian king felt obliged to invite him to power). First, Hitler would deal with Munich, and his primary weapon would be his own paramilitary followers.

The Nazis used a paramilitary group, the SA (Sturmabteilung) stormtroopers, to frequently rough up the political opposition and generally strut about looking important. The SA, led by Ernst Röhm (1887-1934), even became too powerful for Hitler's liking, and so he created his own personal bodyguard called the Stosstrupp-Hitler (Hitler Shock Troop). Stosstrupp members included Julius Schreck (1898-1936), Joseph Berchtold (1897-1962), Ulrich Graf (1878-1950), Hermann Göring (1893-1946), and Rudolf Hess (1894-1987). Other key supporters of Hitler included General Erich Ludendorff (1865-1937), the WWI veteran who had found himself out of favour with the Weimar establishment ever since the armistice. Hitler hoped General Ludendorff would be a respectable figurehead for a Nazi-driven coup d'etat.

Before HOFAS Elriels claimed Elain will play a major part. Plus SJM said this book will set the future ACOTAR book.

After HOFAS came out, it was obvious that Elain didn't make an appearance. Some Elriels continue to argue the book points out to Elain's book. . . However Az had A MAJOR part it the book. I believe he deserves HIS story to be told.

Az definitely deserves to have his story told, and I believe that Elain isn't the right person for him to share it with.

SJM tends to follow a formula that works well for her. She often pairs characters who have experienced trauma, allowing them to relate to each other and help each other heal.

To me, it seems that SJM isn't overly concerned with how one character feels about another, as the plot is the primary focus. Throughout her books, she has portrayed pairs that start at opposite ends of the spectrum and end up in completely different places. What matters to SJM is how well-matched and similar her planned couples are. She's not necessarily changing her formula; rather, she's now emphasizing why Gwyn is perfect for Az and why Lucien is perfect for Elain, something that was lacking in both ToG and CC

The main takeaway from the series for me is that both Cassian and Rhys have reached a level of self-assurance where they can accept their own flaws. It's simply a matter of finding someone who can accept them for who they are.

It's significant to note that both Cassian and Rhys have expressed their fears but haven't shied away from sharing them with their partners. Az explicitly states in his BC that he's afraid to open up to Elain, and I don't believe it's Elain's responsibility to reassure him. That's something Azriel needs to work through on his own.

The dynamics between Azriel and Gwyn are different. Azriel refrains from touching Gwyn not because he fears tainting her but because he's aware of her discomfort with physical contact. He finds solace in Gwyn's presence and is less focused on his insecurities when he's with her compared to when he's alone with Elain.

Azriel's behavior towards Gwyn aligns more with mate behavior. He constantly considers her comfort, abilities, strengths, goals, and reactions, which was lacking in his interactions with Elain.

HOFAS spoilers ahead

We have ample evidence that Az is refusing to embrace his Illyrian heritage, only to discover that the Illyrians rebelled against the Daglans, and he wields the weapon of the Illyrian who led that rebellion—a figure now idolized and memorialized. This revelation is a tremendous burden for Az to bear, especially considering his struggle to see any merit in being Illyrian.

This is a unique struggle that Elain doesn't share. Despite her transformation into a fae, she doesn't exhibit resentment towards her new identity, as evidenced by her active involvement in aiding fae readjustment post-war, similar to Lucien's efforts with humans. Both Elain and Lucien initially harbored prejudiced views towards each other, yet they've both made strides in overcoming these biases.

Elain's main challenge lies in grappling with her mating bond, a struggle Az can't fully comprehend given his intense desire for such a bond. Lucien, on the other hand, was willing to wed without a bond, highlighting another difference in experiences.

While Lucien also deserves to have his story told, it's evident that SJM is currently emphasizing Az's narrative. This suggests that Azriel's journey is distinct from Elain's.

Az deserves to have his story told alongside someone who truly understands him, someone who has decided to step out of the shadows despite the comfort they offer and who comprehends his struggles, particularly regarding his hands.

As for the timing of when to tell Azriel's story, that's a discussion for another time. As a strong supporter of Elucien, I believe Elain's absence in HOFAS indicates that their narrative is next in line to fill the gaps between Nesta's ability to remove the mask to save Feyre and Azriel's need for her to list those she loves.

Nesta's relationship with Elain has yet to fully mend, unlike the understanding reached between Nesta and Feyre by the end of ACOSF as demonstrated by Feyre's support in HOFAS.

Therefore, the question of whose story comes next remains uncertain for me, but fortunately, we won't have to wait long for the next announcement.

Maybe he gets a better cooling system then? Like, if I recall correctly, part of the problem was Toya's ice resistance made it super hard for him to naturally cool himself down - it wasn’t that he was just susceptible to heat, he retained heat a bit too well. Like, Enji basically tried to solve a problem he himself had, but made it WORSE - I mean, fevers & shit are dangerous for a reason, at some point your brain is just cooking itself. So, something that helps with that?

okay so like!

Within Chaos Children I kind of reversed Enji's problem? Because the overheating thing was okay but I wanted to hammer in why going with Ice and why Enji couldn't fix the problem himself.

Like if Enji's problem was just overheating, then 1.) characters push their limits all the time to be able to handle more and more of their element. Enji should be able to get himself to high temperatures, but also never really need to /use/ the super high 'out of his range' temps because, ya know, everyone else isn't fireproof he just needs midrange flames unless he's fighting fire with fire or trying to melt something non-human and 2.) if it was about cooling himself down, he could work in more support gear to do so. Especially it should've been tried before going for 'let's make a child'.

So in CC, I reversed the problem! Enji doesn't have trouble with overheating, but he's weak against the cold. Even just the weather changing causes him to be tired and achy and it's harder for him to get his fire going. And it's not a problem he can fix! He can mitigate things, of course. But he's never been able to get over it because it's so opposite.

And it's the same in the reverse for Rei's Quirk. The heat makes her tired and her body feels like it's melting. And it's so easy to burn her.

They're a hell of a match, aren't they? They equal each other out. They're careful with each other because even their own body temperatures can have an effect even when not actively using their Quirks.

And this applies to the kids too, but because of the nonsense that are the Quirks, the elemental control and elemental resistance are essentially two different genetics that can combine in any combination.

Fuyumi got both Ice Control and Resistance.

Natsuo got Ice Control, and both Resistances.

Shoto is some chimera fuckery, but each half got both of the same element.

But Toya got Fire Control and Ice Resistance. His own Quirk is something that hurts him, something that's a danger to him. Even passively he's having trouble! And that gets worse when his flames get hotter, either through regular training or through the Awakening! Which is why Enji is so worried about Toya using his Quirk at all. And why he's especially worried about Toya being a Hero and putting himself in dangerous situations when he doesn't have some base protection he can fall back on when shit gets fucked.

And yeah yeah in theory Toya /might/ Awaken some resistance, but it's also more than likely that he doesn't have that ability. It's always going to be something he has to deal with and I don't fully want to erase that bit because it's so tied to him and his challenges and something I want him to work with and overcome on his own.

ok now i Have seen the full lineup for the cc and there are a lot of picks that make sense (newcomers like shelton benjamin and ricochet, established guys picking up momentum like mortos and d*rby, etc.) but there are a couple guys who stick out to me as a bit of odd picks like mark briscoe and juice robinson (though jay is busy with the world title scramble so i guess that could be why they put juice in).

some general notes from me:

- i'm really excited to follow danny's story throughout the tournament this year: last year the focus was obviously on eddie who put all his titles on the line but danny also had a really spectacular (imo) underdog story. despite losing nearly all of his matches he still came out of the tournament looking better than ever and showed that he's full of heart and passion which carried him through 2024 to his first aew title reign. now he's back in the continental classic—what sort of performance will we see from him? i think there's a unique amount of pressure on him in this tournament especially coming off his win at full gear so i'm interested to see how that develops.

- i honestly feel like hologram would have been a solid choice for a tournament like this because it's a format that lends itself really well to developing a story without relying on promos. it is as close to Real Sports(tm) as wrestling gets where wins and losses matter and the stakes only get higher as the tournament progresses, and i think it would have been an excellent opportunity to develop his character and explore how he responds to challenges like that without necessarily needing him to talk or sticking him with a manager. the match between him and mortos at wrestledream was great but we haven't seen a lot from him since then (afaik) and he's still undefeated (afaik) so i'm kind of wondering where he's at and what the plans are for that character because i still am not fully Convinced of him as a guy that can stand on his own outside of being tk's pet project

- no one really stands out to me like an obvious winner! last year i expected eddie to win it all from the get-go but i don't feel the same way about okada who is similarly putting his belt on the line. if i had to pick i think it might be ricochet's time to shine since i know tk is itching to put a belt on him but i'm mostly just waiting to see some of these stories develop as we get into the first rounds of the tournament.

- speaking of okada i think he also has a unique amount of pressure on him but kind of in the opposite way that danny does. he's been far from a fighting champion which i think is consistent with his character in aew but it also means there's a lot of unknowns when it comes to his performance in aew. he is still one of the greatest wrestlers out there today and no stranger to the round-robin tournament format (having won the g1 climax 4 times) but there's a lot of talent in this tournament he's never faced before. being the current champion means he also has more on the line than anyone else in the tournament, but i'm still not confident he'll be walking out of world's end with that title around his waist.

ultimately i really enjoyed the continental classic last year, i think it told a lot of solid stories and put together a lot of good matches between guys who otherwise wouldn't be booked together. hopefully this year delivers similarly

After many hours of working to be a bartender your time in work finally pays off. You become a mixologist who is a master at not only those everyday lagers but the more sweeter margarita’s. The Ricky Montgomery Legacy Challenge

Inspired by @dizzywhims' Sour Legacy, I decided I wanted to make a legacy based on my favorite album, Montgomery Ricky by Ricky Montgomery!

The rules on this challenge are pretty lax, as I built it more for myself, however, the more I sat on it the more I wanted to actually put it out for everyone! So, here's all the rules!
