i'm for real about to spend $50 on microwave cookware... i'm becoming my grandmother

#i want a microwave steamer #but it can't be plastic!!!!!!#or cheap/shitty #and it might as well be a major investment right? like i'll use it frequently so why wouldn't it cost more than $20 #<- sliding down the slope that leads to unnecessary purchases #but it'll save money on food!!!!!#i'll be able to buy bulk frozen vegetables and safely and effectively steam them #i'll even be able to microwave rice‚ something i probably don't even want to do actually. whata wrong with my stove.#so it's really just the vegetables #but i think i'll have paid off the steamer's cost in.... oh actually only about 5-6 months hm. ok.#not including the nebulous and priceless concept of 'less microplastics/toxins in my veggies'#god i hate and love purchasing items and products #i'm gonna look up knock-offs buy a cheapo one for $30 then cave and spend another $50 after a couple months aren't i.......#adam talks too much

#jay rambles.txt #two very hard pills to swallow: 1. art has always been created for money and it's a very normal practice in human history #and actually artists being expected to produce art for free or as cheap as they do now is a relatively new thing #2. humans have always created art for validation because being recognised and understood by your fellow humans is a universal human need #if you start to idealise artistry as something inherently selfless that needs to come with no gain or benefits or instead brings only pain #you are going down a VERY dangerous path of not being able to express yourself without shame - if at all #and potentially dragging other people you told close down into that mentality too if you're vocal about it #I've been there #I am there #It's a shitty feeling but the only way out of it is true embrace your need to be loved and desire for human connection or it won't end well #idk that's my opinion tho

My senpai and I are very different people lmao she just suggested we take the 100¥ bus to save us less than 15 minutes walking and I'm like GIRL I am NOT paying ANY amount of money if I can reasonably walk there

#chough chatterings #like i have walked 1 hour each way to a classroom before to save myself ¥300 #my colleagues are always like how do you afford to go travelling and i'm like. i just don't pay for things unless i absolutely have to #my company covers commuting costs but i don't have to actually prove i took the bus/train so i get an extra 〜3000¥/mo by walking #also my colleagues eat like bento or some nice rounded meal before work #whereas i - a goblin - will just eat an entire 80¥ bag of white bread i raided from the discount bin #i don't have any subscriptions like spotify or netflix. i rarely eat out. i don't drink alcohol. i only buy meat or fruit if it's discounte #and then when i do travel i stay in shitty 1-star hotels/hostels and eat like 4 bowls of rice from the included breakfast buffet #so then i don't have to eat lunch. and then i find cheap restaurants off the high street for dinner (i never go to the touristy areas)#but yeah now i have to find a polite way to tell senpai i'll meet her there bc i'm too much of a cheapskate to take the bus lmao
