it’s kind of wonderful to watch Jeremy handle Jean’s trauma because the foxes are so used to each other being fucked up and problematic that when blood spills out of Neil’s locker and he says that he doesn’t want to talk about it they go okay fucked up but sure. Jeremy is so insistent with Jean’s issues and thinks that he just needs to talk about it and pushes and pushes and just begs him to tell him what’s going on. Because that’s the world of trauma he’s used to. He’s used to a problem shared is a problem halfed and being a shoulder to cry on that when Jean says “I’m traumatised” he thinks, “talking about it will make you feel better.”
He handles Jeans trauma with this messy heavy hand and he means so well but his version of trauma, his perspective on trauma is so far removed from the trauma the foxes or the ravens are used to. Every single minute detail Jean reveals is shocking and insane and fucked up and he’s barely scraping the surface. How do you tell someone who thinks you can talk through your problems that you’re afraid of water because you were waterboarded, or that you are so used to your body being used that it’s no longer that Jean feels as if he deserves his abuse, it’s no longer that he thinks his punishments were normal. They are facts. They are core unmoving beliefs so ingrained in him they are set into his skin like the tattoo on his cheek. They’re going nowhere. Jeremy will never understand that, and every thing Jean tells him disturbs him more than the last. He’s so empathetic and compassionate - I think if Jean told him the truth, it would destroy him. It would destroy his spirit, his belief in others, his faith in kindness. It would make him angry. It would make it impossible not to annihilate the Ravens for what they did in the dirtiest, meanest way possible.
And I cannot wait to watch that all happen.

david wymack is such a fierce protector. he loves so deeply and so unconditionally it makes me wanna cry.
like he had just met neil when he said "you need one of us to talk to your parents? are they the ones who hurt you? [...] if your parents are a problem for you, we'll move you to south carolina early."
and he offered him his couch. and then he told him "foxes are foxes for a reason and they know we wouldn't sign you if you didn't qualify. that doesn't mean they know the specifics. it's not my place to ask and I'm sure as hell not going to tell them. did you think I made the team the way it is because I thought it would be a good publicity stunt? it's about second chances, neil. second, third, fourth, whatever, as long as you get at least one more than what anyone else wanted to give you."
he barely knew jean when he told him "your so called master and that bitch of a nephew of his. kevin told us the truth when he transferred so we'd know what we were getting into. I know you think you have to go back to evermore and I know what's waiting for you there. I will burn this house down before I let him touch you again."
and let's not forget about "wymack didn’t care if he had nine foxes or twenty-five. he’d stand behind them until the bitter, bloody end."
and how he usually drives the bus himself because "it was apparently better to be uncomfortable but safe than to trust a stranger with his fractured team."
david wymack dedicated his life to showing kids who were dealt a shit hand in life that they can still play their cards right. I heard somewhere once that sometimes miracles are just good people with kind hearts and I thought it was a little corny but oh does it apply to someone like david wymack. he gave each of the foxes their own miracles. I know he is a fictional character but he just has the biggest heart and honestly he makes me want to have faith in humanity.

neil's concern for jean is so palpable actually they were meant to be 'forever partners' but the few weeks they did spend together really paints such a brutal picture of how awful that would have been
and yet neil is so, so careful with jean in a way that gives me brain worms ykwim? he went through the entire phase of trying to grasp onto a new life and learnt so much from his foxes that he feels the need to pass it on now...'andrew taught me' and 'i've got him, coach' like jean can rely on him and trust him now
especially the phone call when kevin confirms riko's atrocities and in the background someone asks about jean? like i know that was neil his concern is so intense he keeps jean in mind almost like there's a phantom friendship that ties them together

Wymack informing the USC coaches that if they want any of Jean's files, they're gonna have to go to EAU unannounced and demand them.
One of the coaches doing exactly that, and it turns out the nurse that Jean assumed had some hostility/irritation towards him actually kept extremely detailed records of everything Jean experienced because he knew it was wrong.
That nurse going missing because once he handed the records over, he ran for the hills.
The USC coaches realizing that there was something extremely sinister happening at EAU and trying to decide how they should handle it.
(I want Wymack and the other coaches to take down the Moriyamas or something, and I feel like Jean could be the key to that)

The Miracle of Harrier the Innocence.
This idea is so vague in my head. But someone puts the city in a dire situation and these idiots get into it. Something something something. And then, just as the showdown begins, they can SEE the skills. They can HEAR the low murmurs. Harry isn’t look at anyone but seeing through them. He has what he needs to diffuse the situation, he has the guidance of himself broken into 24 pieces. Kim and Jean become the first witnesses.
Etc, etc, etc. Harry is a terrible looking candidate for Innocence so the Founding Party tries to ignore him. So he becomes the first Innocence elected by the people who force the Founding Party’s hand.
IDK idk I wish I knew how to write!

Oh god, oh fuck, oh no; the parallels between Jean at the beginning of tsc panicking and telling Wymack "I want to go home" and Jean at the end of tsc falling apart after finding out his baby sister has died, telling Neil the same thing.
"I want to go home."
He is only nineteen
