oh also something i didnt cover in that response to that ask. liveblog tags are SO GOOD for meeting people who like the team and like. Becoming Friends/Friendly with them. especially bc i know a lot of people are like "well i don't really post anything because i don't write/draw/edit/etc" which then makes it harder to talk to other people in fandom. the lb is a GREAT solution to this if ur able to watch games live!!! post every little thought abt the game! like everyone's posts! reply to some! dm them abt something they said! literally whatever, just interact in some way while ur in this shared space!!!

Everyone is sentimental in the tag, I am too so now it’s my turn to make a post

during the pandemic when it was Rough content creators were something that helped to make it brighter. seeing the people I have enjoyed watching (both old and new) all in support this project, from day one I got the feeling that qsmp would be something special. I’ve always been exposed to different cultures since childhood & had very worldwide interests so it immediately made me intrigued

but seeing this server bloom into what it is today, it’s much more than roleplay in a block game, it’s absolutely mindblowing and has real positive effects on people. suddenly I’m 4 months into learning spanish and can follow basic conversation, I’ve met brazilian people and can properly greet them, and I am here on qsmpblr interacting daily with people from all over the world!

The feeling on the island reflects into this community, it’s actually amazing to have mutuals from everywhere all liveblogging and sharing their different experience with the same media. I recognize names and pfps I interact with like we’re all in a little town passing by each other for a chat. We share theories, art, and our takes on characters while having respect for each other

and man was I nervous to post fanart more on my main, putting stuff online has always been kind of a challenge, but the encouragement this community has given literally has made me so happy and confident. it feels so comfortable to say whatever is on my mind here, ramble on giant posts of analysis or theories, because you people wanna hear it and you respond with the same enthusiasm

If the qsmp is all about love and connection no matter who you are, over the past months & tonight having seen the sappy emotions in the tag? I think all of us are also examples of that in action. You guys should all be proud.

I'd like to ask, I wanna get into the books of SW, but there are the Legends and now the Canon. How should I approach the books? Is it "easier to stick to one over the other" or "u can mix n match" or "dealer's choice"??? Help 😭

Hi! It really depends a lot on you and what you want out of the books, like what experience are you hoping to get? Do you want to read just Disney canon or Legends canon? Or would you prefer to mix and match? All genuine questions btw! <3 My personal advice is to consider what you're looking to get out of them, because honestly I don't think it matters much in fandom, there's not really a ton of fic that focuses on events of the books and the stuff that's derived from books (like the entire concept of the AgriCorps or Obi-Wan's time on Bandomeer before he became a Padawan) is often more fanon-based than that you need to read the books. This isn't a value judgement on the fics that use those tropes and scenarios, just a general nod that, honestly, so much of Star Wars fandom is a big game of Telephone and we're on the far side of the circle at this point. So, read whatever book you want in whatever order, it doesn't really matter because the people who made the movies and who make the shows might give nods to the books (mostly Favreau tbh) occasionally, but the vast majority of the time, they do not go out of their way to stay in line with the books. The books are entirely supplemental, both to watching the movies/TV shows and to vast swathes of fandom. I personally find it easier to stick to Disney canon books, in general I prefer it to Legends (though, Legends has some banger novels that I enjoy as wild rides, like nothing will ever beat Stover's ROTS novel or the absolute manic RIDE that is Wild Space), I find it them a little more internally consistent, but honestly you'd be fine picking up any book that sounds interesting and reading it, so long as you understand that the books are way down on the ladder of what's like to be important to future canon installments. They're delightful to read, I love them very much and you can see I pore over them to liveblog them or scour them for lore bits, but they're very much supplemental. So "dealer's choice" and you're the dealer, there's no one better way to approach them than the other! If you want some recs, I have a tag of books I've enjoyed if you think our tastes overlap or you can just close your eyes and spin around in a circle in a Star Wars bookshop and let that choose your first book to read! XD

i got rudy the cool pvp background for his reaper portrait and INSTANTLY when i did a roulette someone complimented it. immediate payoff. thank u red mage in bardam’s mettle <3

i had the sweetest leveling roulette experience in vanaspati where the healer + other dps were both new and i had only done it once, we all died on the second boss except for the paladin so we were all just cheering her on & emoting at her in the chat from outside the arena EHEDFN <33. and then on the third boss it was just me and her who survived so we did it together and ough :’). she kept casting clemency + cover on me to keep me alive and i made sure to keep her in crest of time returned-range and awwh it was so fun . we won and all cheered about it afterwards ehehe <)!!!!!!!!!! <3333

so many of the songs in this game use motifs from other ones and i’m only just now noticing most of them and i’m losing my mind about it . i swear every time i start humming along to one i go WAAAAIT A SECOND…………. This is my liveblog-- currently liveblogging Lily's Well.

The way this will operate is I'll mainly focus on one media at a time-- if I want to explore said media more, or finish up extra content, I'll be putting those on separate blogs dedicated to said media. I'll still be using the tags I used here though.

I'll also review things once I've finished them, and give my final thoughts on them-- or at least as they're finished so far. Some stuff I'll play on here will be technically incomplete.

I'm always happy for suggestions! Just be patient. It can take me some time to get through stuff. Some things because of the category they're in or length may go onto a different blog-- more on that below.

My policy on any content that could be spoilery for a tag is that I'll put it behind a read more, and then after a month or so, it'll be unspoiled-- if it needs more time behind a read more, please tell me!

My tastes on this blog will vary a huge amount, and thus, i cannot guarantee that everything will be sfw (anything too nsfw/nsft will be warned and behind a readmore). Minors can follow, but at your own discretion.

I'm also going to say that if you don't like something that I'm liveblogging, that you either filter that particular tag or block the blog in general. Otherwise, for the most part, I'm not down to be bullied or lectured about for what I'm playing on here. There may be some exceptions here and there, but they're more likely to be very circumstantial (ergo-- more likely to be more indie projects wherein the creator is doing something extremely harmful and I feel like my liveblogging is spreading their influence further-- but again, extremely niche situation).

what is crosstagging? Is it something to avoid?

Crosstagging is tagging a post under a tag it does not belong to or is not relevant to with one or multiple tags. People sometimes do this to gain more notes or generally because they are uninformed of the etiquette on this website.

Since Tumblr already has a shitty search system crosstagging is a massive nuisance. Anybody posting on the platform should avoid doing it as it can clog main tags with unrelated posts to the tag you’re searching for.

There can be multiple instances of crosstagging so I’ll list two examples specifically when it comes to QSMPblr.

During OPQ, or Cellbits ttprg streams, there was a lot of crosstagging going on where people would tag their liveblogs as QSMP and OPQ. The QSMP part makes it crosstagging as it had nothing to do with the actual QSMP. And ended up putting large amounts of posts about OPQ into the QSMP tag and caused scrolling to find QSMP liveblogs way more difficult than it should be.

Or, people tagging liveblogs for Slimecicle’s stream under QSMP when he is not actually playing on the server. This goes for any streamer. So as a reminder just because a streamer is a member of the QSMP that does not mean you should tag every liveblog of whatever they are streaming as QSMP. Because it is unrelated. If Cellbit is playing a horror game you should not tag your liveblogging post as QSMP, if Ironmouse is Just Chatting you should not tag your liveblogging post as QSMP, if Jaiden is playing Outlast Trials you should not tag your liveblogging post as QSMP, etc.

I understand the QSMP has all of its general audience in that tag so people think maintagging a post with that tag makes sense but that's not how the tagging system works and is awful Tumblr etiquette. So use cc’s tags for that stuff!

If you don’t mind me asking will there be a sort of spoiler embargo type thing upon 13.5’s release in regards to the new content (like not being able to post spoilers on the forum and discord and all the other usual places)? Just want to ask because I don’t want to accidentally break any rules, you guys have made a cool game and I am excited to play and talk about it more :) sorry if this has been answered already btw—

You're all good, anon! We don't have the rules in a single place really, so I'll give you the rundown.

We as the devs usually adhere to a complete spoiler embargo in regards to making any official posts that lasts for about a week—this coincides with the amount of time between release and when we first start posting the official art & music for this update. This is something we ourselves stick to and is not a strict rule for others, HOWEVER we'd appreciate it if you spoiler tag your posts appropriately and put stuff under cuts where possible if you decide to liveblog/tweet/whatever about the update as soon as it's out.

In that same vein, videos are fine to upload once the update is out. PLEASE don't upload the music early onto youtube though, there'll be official video releases for that on both my and glitch's channels like last time, and they'll be uploaded in batches.

In regards to Discord—you're completely fine to discuss the new content, we just ask you to put everything in spoiler tags for at least two weeks, and especially on Reborn/the Jancord/my own discord server, use the appointed spoiler channels for it. The general consensus anyways is to put everything for Act 2 (Chapters 9-current) in spoiler tags when discussing it with people anywhere, so you should be doing that to begin with when talking about the new mini chapter.

On the RebornEvo forums, please put [SPOILER] in front of your forum post title when discussing anything related to newly added content in .5.

I think that's about it, the tl;dr really is just spoiler tag everything for a couple of weeks, don't publicly upload stuff that we ourselves plan to give an official release already and don't be a dick about spoiling others even after the embargo lifts LOL
