The Fleecity family, consisted almost entirely of Pearlcatcher dragons, keeps the pearls cultivated by the Phoenicas of the past in the Hall of Phoenicas in their mansion. Every pearl is labeled with the name and visage (be it paintings or sculptures) of the Phoenicas they belonged to and have a corresponding plaque with an overview of their accomplishments. Those pearls are quite unique in their shapes and colours, something that cannot be said about the Phoenicas themselves.

When Crusher set off on the Search for his charge (as customary of every young Guardian dragon), it was a very heartfelt farewell. as i mentioned earlier, i continued my studies today in my culture's divination practices. i came to the united states when i was 2, and came back and forth between my father's family in brasil and his new family with my adopted stepmother until i was 7; i injured my knee during aerial silks and had to stay in the us for the surgeries since my adopted mother could afford it -- that's when i permanently moved to florida, in a little town called boynton beach. i've long since escaped that hellhole, but all of that is to say that i grew up essentially knowing one piece of where i came from before it all sort of...faded away. as i've grown older and found my way into spirituality and specifically, Chaos magick, i have felt a deep yearning to get in touch with all of my heritage, which lead me to discover another side of my Brazilian bloodline. my biological mother revealed that her family is originally a part of a Calão Romany community, that she escaped her arranged marriage which lead to her coming to my hometown. ever since, i've done deep research into what it means to be a Romany spiritualist because in reality -- there are not many, much to the disappointment of Hollywood, i'm sure. Romany culture is a closed practice and I've been doing my absolute best to remain respectful while learning about my culture, and I'm so happy to have learned so much in so little time. I am not a babalosha or priest yet, but i've learned my obatian (obaachan, Japanese for grandmother) has experience in Kimbanda and Umbanda practices from my father and auntie, so I'll be able to ask her about the initiation rituals and process of becoming officiated in Kimbanda divination and rituals. for right now though, i'm basically giving myself a little 101 intro course to prep for that.

Character Information

Francis Price enjoys vying for the hearts of beautiful women. This is his most fundamental quality. Though he would describe himself as an eager student and contented business leader (as he is being considered for a couple management positions for post-graduation), Francis is truthfully a romantic, and he behaves this way in person. His major at Redwood College is business, but he is strongly considering changing it to physics. He has taken classes in both and would rather graduate with the major he gains the most comfort from.

At nineteen years old, amiable Francis is a friend to whoever speaks with him. Whether he’s meeting with an economics professor or telling his fellow students what his most recent crush is, Francis enjoys connecting with fellow humans. This means that his assignments often take a back seat. Many a morning Francis has spent slapping words on paper in order to complete an essay or project. People are often jealous of both Francis’s privilege and Francis’s ability to succeed without trying. His privilege is one thing, but Francis is quick to explain that he genuinely loves his studies���he just doesn’t operate the same way as the average Redwood College student and can’t devote hours to something he would rather see lived out in his own world. He suspects he may have ADD. Though Francis may get along with most everyone, his rivals are the mysterious men in many of his female friends’ lives who hurt their feelings and leave Francis to pick up the pieces. He despises thoughtlessness.

Francis once fell in love with a lovely girl who sang enchantingly. This fellow thirteen-year-old, Sofia Bạch, was the love of Francis’s life…or so he thought at the time. Sofia moved away, and Francis has been searching for her via social media and fellow connections ever since. He’s fallen in love since that connection at thirteen, yet some part of him longs for the easy conversations with and inner beauty of the girl he once admired. He also likes people who are passionate about their friends, as well as people with the same romantic streak he has. Francis uses the pronouns he/him/they and wants his friends and new acquaintances to refer to him using the pronouns they like best, either he or they. Internally, he calls himself “he.”

business partner—Francis’s father, the powerful CEO of Regalia Bernard Price, is pressuring his son to open his own consulting firm in Redwood Hollow to gain experience for his future career. Francis may do this; but if your character is business-minded like the Price family is, Francis and your character could open something different.

animal lover—Francis has never had a pet, as much as he’s always wanted a chinchilla named Oracle. Your character is an experienced animal lover and tells Francis the insider secrets of owning an animal like theirs. Francis asks to come over to your place and get to know the animal in question. Your character can agree or just bring the animal to Francis.

Taken Connections

first love—Francis’s first crush and “the one that got away” is Sofia Bạch. He remembers how genuine and thoughtful Sofia always was with him, and he is always thinking of ways to reconnect with her.

doesn’t like me—Francis can think of one person who would never, ever want him near her: Guinevere Bạch, or his former friend Sofia’s stepmother. Guinevere acted cold when Francis was warm; that’s why Francis knows she would hate meeting him now that he’s grown. If she would willingly drive him away from Sofia’s house like that, she would despise the type of person he’s become: a man who always offers to come to you, not the other way around. Guinevere would tell Francis exactly what she thought of him if they met again, he’s positive.

This episode makes everything so much more confusing, but that's just noghtvale i guess.

So, we know that the whole entering trees stuff were probably dreams about his father that cecil doesn't remember, but that begs the question, how do we have recordings of him talking inside the tree? Was that also a dream? Was the whole liminal space episode a dream about liminal spaces because cecil fell asleep while watching or entered a trance?

We knew that at some point Cecil's mother left, idr if it was shortly after telling him to not look in the mirror but something along those lines. But now we know that she maybe left mentally, like she wasn't really there?

But also, we have the whole her being an oracle thing? And the whole cassette stuff with him looking at the mirror and seeing something flickering which could have been his father(?). What about entering the mirror? Did cecil actually dimension-hop? Was he dissociating or something?

What about Cal? Was he really never real to this timeline? How come Cecil's mom told him a bedtime story which fits him very well, if she didn't take care of them?

What about Cecil's immortality and omniscience gave to him by beig the voice of nightvale?

I don't think that his father is a otherwordly being, more than he already is that is, but at some point abby mentioned Mud, and i remembered the mudwomb and was intrigued. There was also a lot of focus on his voice, which is interesting, there was the picture frame he had in his table, same as cecil, but when Lubelle described Cecil's, she said it was actually redwoods (or it was the inverse i dont remember)

a/n: Here are some basics for the setting for my Creepypasta AU! I am currently calling it The Collective, which may change.

✧ Interconnection ✧

“The Collective'' (otherwise referred to as the Land)  is a the name of the setting in which our story takes place. The Collective is made up from large stretches of ground that belong to multiple locations across the globe. To further explain, the Collective is ever growing, as its magic comes from a powerful, ancient fungi that grows just below the earth’s surface. The fungi acts as an interconnection between locations.

Anywhere the fungi spreads is considered part of the land, as its magic properties allow it to sew sections of the world together seamlessly through metaphysical means - hence the name, the Collective, as it is a collection of multiple fragments of land from all across the world stitched together to create one massive location. 

Due to this, the nature of the Collective looks different than that in society. Trees from different parts of the globe are sewn together as though they are a patchwork quilt; one moment you could be walking through a dense forest of pine trees and the next you are surrounded by redwoods. The supernatural fungi opens portals between locations, allowing these different landscapes to exist right next to each other, even if it wouldn't normally make sense. 

The fungi, known as the Occultatumycete, can be found in many soils across the globe, although it is undetectable to the human eye. It can be transferred in a multitude of ways, most notably that of attaching itself to a human form and traveling with it. As a nomadic entity, its foundations are intricately webbed together and can stretch for miles. 

✧ Relation to Seers ✧

The Occultatumycete is considered a Seer. It is an ancient creature, and it is acutely aware of everything that happens on the surface. It sees through the plant life, its Acolytes, and the hosts that it possesses. There is no telling where this fungi came from, nor when it arrived, and many of the Proxies and Denizens of the land do not even know it exists. 

✧ Death and the Cycle of Blood ✧

Any deaths that take place in the forest nourish the fungi. At first glance, this looks like the work of any normal forest floor; breaking down animal carcasses and then that energy is given back to the trees and plants and other animals that live there - but it goes deeper than that. 

Each life that is taken fuels the entity beneath the soil. It expands, and its power increases. The fungi become stronger, making it harder to detect and harder to destroy. This means that the Collective (or the Slender Woods) doesn't have a designated square footage, as the fungi continues to spread and conquer more and more acres so long as it lives. New locations pop up all the time, although there is seemingly no rhyme or reason for where the new additions fit.

The fungi seldom show up on the surface. However, when the fungi decides that it is time to find more land to claim, the small, black mushrooms begin to pop out of the ground. To find a suitable host is tricky, and it is a task that the fungi does not take lightly. 

With the mushrooms now on land, the entity behind it is allowed to pick a host. The forest has been known for setting traps for certain individuals. The mushrooms have the ability to release spores that can play games with the human senses. It can cast illusions, and even poison those who stand too close to it. If the fungi is confident enough, it will find a victim and lure it towards its trap. 

✧ Occultatumycete vs Society ✧

As the power swells beneath the surface, entangled in its web of thick fibrous hyphae, the world braves on; People go on hikes, kids play in parks, national forests stay open. The Collective is powered by the fungi, and in turn the land is mystical. The supernatural occultatumycete produces an invisible barrier, protecting anything or anyone from entering the land or even seeing it. 

If the Land does not want you to enter it, then you will not be able to. It almost exists as a negative space between reality. If someone walks through one end of the barrier, it will simply spit the person out on the other side as if there were nothing in between at all. This also means that there is not one singular location in which this land can be found. There are no coordinates and there is no proper earthly location that it can be traced. However, the occultatumycete tend to live in soils that surround locations that are highly dense with negative human emotions. 

Areas that are hostile in nature or house individuals that are going through a high level of suffering are often targeted by the Occutatumycete, as such negative emotions allow for easy targets for the fungi to find hosts. Those who are undergoing a lot of stress, those who are suffering from a variety of disorders (mental or physical), and overall those who are handling some sort of anguish or devastation are prime targets for the Occultatumycete. It is not uncommon to find Occultatumycete outside of prisons or mental institutions, but it’s also found sporadically and in locations that aren’t necessarily filled with heavy emotions.

✧ Access: How Does One Enter the Collective? ✧

The Seers do not allow individuals to enter its domain unless it allows them to. There are a few different ways an individual could end up in the Collective;

The Collective recognizes an individual as someone filled with such anguish, such devastation, or such instincts that they are invited into the land. Either as;

a source of fuel or energy (i.e. luring a victim onto the land with the pure intention of killing and consuming them under any means)

a host (i.e. luring an individual into the land to be used as a puppet to carry out the Collective’s whims) 

An Acolyte has bargained with the Collective in order to obtain Proxies

This would mean that a certain individual is coerced or lured here after a series of events - traumatizing or unnatural - intentionally in order to serve the Acolyte 

Once entering the land, the individual is known as a Denizen. After stepping foot into the Collective, there is no going back to a normal life. Even if a new Denizen were to try and escape back into society, the occultatumycete will always be calling them, beckoning them to return to the Collective by any means necessary. To clarify, one isn’t trapped in the Collective after entering, as they can come and go as they wish so long as they are fueling the land. However, individuals are rather tethered to it, unable to go back to a normal way of life after being in contact with this supernatural Seer. 

✧ Weather ✧

Since the Collective is an amalgamation of many locations, it is natural that there are some strange weather patterns. It seems to have a mind of its own, and tends to be quite unpredictable. While the land seems to reflect the weather of all four seasons, it has been known to change rapidly and without warning. 

Catastrophic events such as landslides, earthquakes, sinkholes, and the like can take place. These events can be contained to one singular area of the land. Similarly, it isn’t unheard of to have certain patches of land or individual pieces of nature to stand out completely in comparison to their surroundings. For example, it could be snowing in the forest but randomly there is a clearing that is shrouded in warm sunlight, and all the plantlife is alive. Or there is a rainstorm, but it’s only on one specific tree in the forest.
