Rule Of The Fungi

In the far past of our planet, in the Ordovician period, life was already thriving. It was, however, still mostly tied to the oceans. In this time, where the first plants creeped on the land, laying low to the ground with little structure, fungi where already a few steps ahead. Towering up to 8 meters over the tiny pioneer plants was the biggest land organism of its time by far, the giant fungus Prototaxites. They rule over an emtpy, yet peaceful landscape, serene living monoliths, challenged only by the odd arthropod that left the ocean behind for good…

he is the first armored fish with a lateral line (that we've discovered) and he's from the ordivician period and he didn't have a jaw bc jaws weren't evolved yet !!!! also he is so silly

my god.... that's SUCH a little guy. What's an armored fish tho? And the lateral line ?? But yeah fr he clearly doesn't even need a jaw I mean. He's already so. perfect.

i am very upset and in pain and a broke my brand new starbucks cold cup it’s pink and has ordivician-era shallow tropical sea life on it including jellyfish and sea forests but i tripped and busted and my ass and hurt my back and i have a big ass bruise on my knee and i can’t even write fanfiction about daisy and jemma to make me feel better because i have writers block

Taken 2021 16th November, my field trip took me to Stenbrottet i Hällekis. This was an Ordivician fossil site that had orthocones, most likely from 'Orthoceras regulare'.
