Anonymous asked: I have a few questions as an aspiring writer and a current fanfic writer who publishes.
Okay! But if you write fan-fiction, you're already a writer! I'm guessing you mean an aspiring author? ♥
How would you help with distractions and writer's block? I try to dedicate myself to writing, but then I wander off to other stuff and my motivation wanes.
This is not uncommon and there can be a lot of different reasons for why it happens. Understanding the reason behind why it's happening is important for knowing how to fix it. I have a couple posts that will help with this:
5 Reasons You Lost Interest in Your WIP, Plus Fixes! Feeling Unmotivated with WIP Writer’s Block
How do you advise me outlining a huge original story plot with world-building in an organized way that isn't just scattered?
Outlining is really just any method that helps you get all the important pieces of the story out, in order, so that you can use it as a reference while writing. Some people use one big beginning to end summary. Some people like scene lists or timelines. Other people like scene cards or mind maps... Different things work for different people, so part of the work you need to do as a writer is figure out which method/methods work best for you.
I often find, though, that the struggle people have with outlining is less about what method to use and more about how to actually fill out the details, which brings me around to plot and story structure. All stories have structure. Fan-fiction is often short, character-driven fiction, which gives it a different structure from the average novel. That said, even if you're a prolific fan-fiction writer, you may still need to take some time to learn about plot and story structure. I'll link a few posts that will help, but once you understand story structure (all the specific plot points a story should go through), it becomes much easier to know how to outline it.
Guide: How to Outline a Plot Guide: Starting a New (Long Fiction) Story Basic Story Structure Beginning a New Story How to Move a Story Forward Plot Driven vs Character Driven Stories Understanding Goals and Conflict
What advice would you give for writing fictional religions and mythology?
First and foremost, it's important to understand the role religion and mythology play in your story... how do they feed into your characters' beliefs? How do they influence your characters' actions and behavior? How do they guide the forces of power in your story's world? How do they impact the story's conflict/s and plot? Ultimately, you don't want to put a lot of time into creating and fleshing out a religion or mythology that's ultimately unimportant to the story. It helps to focus most on the aspects that truly matter.
Also, you might consider using real world mythology and religions as inspiration... just be careful about cultural appropriation. It's best not to use anything that belongs to an active culture or religion unless it's yours, or unless you do intense research and consult with sensitivity readers to make sure you don't do anything harmful.
And lastly, what sources do you recommend to accurately describe buildings (especially castles and manors) battlefields, geographical locations especially when it comes to mountains and rivers, etc), dresses and clothing especially if it isn't modern, and fighting techniques that are believable (for example, how a smaller woman would fight a larger man without being unrealistic)?
1 - Find Inspiration Sources - No matter when and where your story is set, it's important to find inspiration sources for the places in your story, whether that's buildings, towns, regions, whatever. Not only will this help you imagine and describe what you're envisioning, it will help you immensely with research on specific details.
2 - Time and Place Are Important - Many descriptive details are specific to time and place, so make sure you know that about your inspiration sources and/or the elements in your story. You can do a Google search for layout, architecture, and design (along with relevant location and era information) to find the details you need. For example, "medieval European castle layout" or "Victorian era manor house architectural details." Likewise, you can look for "Tudor era menswear" or "Victorian era dress details."
3 - Fighting Techniques - This again will tie into the time and place when your story is set. However, some fighting techniques will be somewhat timeless. I would strongly suggest heading over to @howtofightwrite for the best information and resources about portraying fighting techniques in writing.
Happy writing!

Heights Based off Official Model Scales, Dev Words, or Lore specified
Updated: 05/2024
I find it delightful and fits into the feral and desperate need I have for Thedas to be experiencing mega fauna and flora. Important note, the only height that is canon is Bull's as it is mentioned in the lore books World of Thedas vol. 2. The rest are based off scaled models and dev words; the latter up to personal preference on how canon that is.
I've also updated these since the last post as wonderful people reached out and gave me their numbers as well as updating Dorian's height to what his character model height is based on Gaider's tweet.
Going from shortest to tallest we have this:
Varric - 5' - 5'3 / 152.4-160.02cm [Source]
Morrigan - 5'8 / 172.72cm (Sans heels) [Source]*
Alistair - 6' / 182.88cm [Source]
Dorian - 6' / 183cm *
Solas - 6' / 182.88.cm [Source]
The Iron Bull - 8' / 243.84cm*
Elaboration (Below the Cut)
Varric:
Varric's statute details included below. I used the range because when I previously posted about heights there were disagreements on his height. But it also led to several people giving me their measurements on the statue! Which thank you so much for sharing! Measurements can vary wildly, so the more data is always better.
Additionally, the 153cm / 5' height is echoed by his in-game model, so I think that is a definite minimum for his height.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Morrigan:
Morrigan's statue details and the help of a friend who has her statue, gave us the numbers for Morrigan's height with and without heels. These numbers are also echoed in her in-game model of 173.81cm / 5'8 sans heels and 178.44cm / 5'10 with heels. (Please excuse the lack of a face on her. For some reason my blender says it is an invalid file and I can't figure out how to fix it.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alistair:
The Sideshow listing and the manufacturer Three Zero listing give two numbers 12.5" and 12", with the latter being the one repeated the most.
I will note that there are some issues with the provided numbers as 12" is 30.62cm and the listing states he is 32cm which is 12.5". But considering previous conversation on the matter and that cm in scaling of these items seem a bit more unreliable in the actual size of the product (they are approximates after all) I chose to stick with the provided measurements in inches due to it matching up with his in-game model height of 183.5cm / 6' (technically its 6' and 1/16 of an inch but rounding down here).
If you want to choose to stick with the cm measurements, on 1:6 scale, 32 cm would be 190.5cm / 6'3 for Alistair.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dorian:
When asked about Dorian's height, David Gaider specified that: "He is as tall as the character artists made him." [Source]
Tumblr media
Originally, I had put Dorian's height at a range due to the fact he is the ideal proportions at 8 heads tall which by modern industry standard means he's 6'2, but by earlier standards means he's 6'. But now that I have access to the character models used in-game and blender, we know for certain his height is supposed to be 6' / 183cm.
Tumblr media
Solas:
So the listing images gave off a very incorrect estimate of height, but kind of to be expected when they photoshop soda cans in. Thanks to the many people who sent me numbers, here and on other places. Solas from front foot to head is 18" / 46.5cm of his 20" / 51cm statue.
Tumblr media
This height of 6' is also echoed by an old tweet from Trick Weekes saying Solas was 6'-ish ft.
Tumblr media
The Iron Bull:
In World of Thedas vol. 2 p. 255 they have the description that he is 8' tall.
Everyone in the Chargers is someone who can look at an eight-foot horned giant and say, 'Yes, I trust that man with my life.'
If you're wondering if that includes the horns? Up to you, it's not specified. If you want to do sans horns, according to the scaling of his statue, they math out to adding roughly 5". Which would make him 7'5 (226.06cm).
Tumblr media
It took a lot of math on my part, measuring his calf, thigh, and then up from there. But he does measure to 8' / 243.84cm when you scale the number of 62cm / 24".
Additional Notes:
For transparency, as noted in this post on in-game character model heights for Inquisition, Solas is noted to be 5'10 / 179cm and Iron Bull is 6'9 / 204cm. These are at odds with the dev word and lore notes, so they aren't used for comparison here. As there are likely game reasons/limitations they do not have wholly unique character models in terms of height. (Such as doorways, animation differences, armor, ect.)

A Hellish Love Story // Pt. 2
Pairing: Vox x F!Reader
Warnings: Cursing, Suggestive Content, Mentions of Alcohol Consumption
A/N: I seriously couldn't wait to write this part. The creative juices are flowingggg. Enjoy :)
---
Vox was not a party person to say the least. He despised them actually.
Don't get him wrong, he didn't mind having a good time within the tower alongside the other Vees.
But the general public of sinners and demons alike tended to annoy and constantly pester him. Being one of the most successful overlords in the Pride Ring, it was apart of the job description.
However, that doesn't mean he liked the constant attention from reporters and fans. Sure he'd get a cute one here and there but that's about it. Everything else was an absolute headache. He usually only went out if he thought it would be good publicity for the company.
Vox didn't even want to be at the club tonight, or any night for that matter. He simply wanted to stay in and relax after a long day of working with absolute morons.
That being said, Valentino had other plans for the night, much to Vox's dismay. It took a lot of "convincing" on Val's part but, Vox ultimately agreed to go.
Not even an hour after arriving at 666, Vox was left by himself at the bar. He knew this bullshit was going to happen, it happened every. single. time.
He muttered profanities under his breath as he watched Val flirt with fellow sinners, obviously trying to get them into his field of work. He glanced down at his drink and decided to just go home and relax- like he had originally planned for the night.
Right as Vox was about to take his leave, something caught his eye.
No, not something. Someone.
You.
He noticed you from the opposite end of the bar. Vox trailed his virtual eyes along your form and immediately took a mental note of how attractive you looked in the club's lighting. Something about you seemed so familiar to him yet, he couldn't place where he had seen you before.
Who the hell were you?
He examined the two sinners that were chatting alongside you. Vox instantly recognized Val's favorite play-thing, Angel Dust. He also recognized the one-eyed bomb girl. He was almost positive her name was Cherri.
He rolled his eyes in annoyance as he watched the spider demon crack a joke making you laugh. At first he didn't recognize you. That is, until you looked up at Angel.
Vox knew those fiery eyes and stunning smile.
The same eyes and smile that made his heart flutter back at the comfort of his tower. His initial thought was that he had to of been seeing things. After all, it wasn't the first time you had crossed his mind. He looked down and eyed the drink he had been nurturing before. Once he confirmed that it indeed wasn't spiked, he looked back up at you. Vox watched as you downed another shot with your friends. He examined your features over and over before coming to the conclusion that it really was you.
Holy shit.
He knew you were attractive but this- this was some next level shit.
Sure he was used to Val's actors and actresses but, this was you.
When he saw you in person for the first time in one of the long hallways of the tower- he acknowledged you with a charming smile, which was rare for Vox. But that day specifically had been really good for him. He wasn't prepared for the warm smile you flashed back at him as you passed by. His stride paused for a moment as he turned to watch you walk away- his interest peaked.
From that moment forward, it became a habit of his to smile at you whenever you happened to cross paths. Vox almost looked forward to it some days, but it was honestly rare for him to see you. You both were at work after all and he was a very busy man.
In his free time, he found himself using his multitude of cameras to keep an eye on you- just to check in of course. He watched as you typed away on your computer. Vox noted the way you would bite your lip in concentration and drink at least two cups of coffee a day- with two creams and two sugars specifically... but that didn't matter. It just so happened to be one of the many little things he noticed about you.
It also came to his attention that unlike your fellow peers, you never appeared to be miserable while working. He could tell you actually wanted to be there.
Never in a million years did he imagine to find you at a club, let alone see you dressed in the way that you were.
Maybe he could stay just a little bit longer.
---
The entire night he couldn't seem to take his eyes off of you. Vox watched as you slowly came out of your shell with the more drinks you downed.
He had found a somewhat quiet area in the club where no one would bother him as he watched you. The grip on his drink tightened whenever people would get a little too close for his liking. But at the same time, he truly couldn't blame them.
You looked absolutely ethereal the way you danced without a true care in the world. Vox began to feel his member harden in his pants as he watched you trail your hands over your body, swaying to the beat of the music.
He was broken out of his intense gaze as he watched Cherri say something to you. The next thing he knew, you were left alone. You didn't seem to care too much seeing as you resumed your sultry movements. However, that moment of being alone was short lived.
Vox's eye twitched anxiously as a random loan shark came up from behind you and placed his hands on your hips. Right as Vox was about to stand up and come to your rescue- you did something he truly wasn't prepared for.
Even from where he was sitting, Vox could see the iris's of your eyes turn into red and golden flames. The palms of your hands lit up with fire as you grabbed hold of the shark's hands- effectively burning them.
Vox would be lying if he said he wasn't turned on.
Well, more turned on than he already was.
He watched as the shark quickly pulled his hands off and began yelling profanities at you. To which, you flicked him off with an award winning smile as he stormed away.
Vox never could of imagined that the sweet little writer with the gorgeous smile had such a personality. However, the more he thought about it, the more he realized that he really didn't know you at all.
He thought to himself for a moment longer before coming up with a plan of action. He did own your soul... but for once, he didn't want to use that as an advantage over you. Why?
Vox couldn't seem to come up with a valid answer.
Seeing as though you could handle yourself perfectly fine, Vox gazed at you one more time before standing up and exiting the club.
---
You forgot how much hangovers absolutely fucking sucked.
Your trio didn't end up leaving the club until around 4am. At first it didn't seem like a problem... until you remembered that you had to be at work a mere 4 hours later.
Angel ended up staying the night at your place, which he frequently did anyway.
Your head throbbed to the beat of your blaring alarm, awakening not only you but as well as an equally, if not more, hungover spider.
"Can you shut that shit up?? I'm trying to sleep here" Angel groaned from beside you, holding a pillow over his head. You quickly shut it off and decided to "rest" your eyes for a few more minutes.
However- it wasn't a few more minutes.
When you opened your eyes again, nothing seemed out of sort. Angel still slept soundly next to you with the pillow over his head. You yawned and stretched quietly as you glanced over at your alarm clock. However when you did, you felt your heart fall into the pit of your stomach.
Oh no. This can't be happening.
"Shit shit shit!" You almost fell off the bed from how fast you moved.
Angel took the pillow off of his face with a groan. He lifted his head up curiously and watched as you scrambled to get dressed. "You alright over there toots?"
"I'm 2 hours late! I've never been late before. I'm so dead!" You exclaimed as you struggled to pull up your pants, catching yourself from toppling over in the process.
You ripped open the closet doors and grabbed the first professional looking shirt you could get your hands on. You quickly pulled the material over your head and slipped on your black work heels.
You watched as Angel slowly began to process your words while throwing your hair into a quick messy bun.
"You can stay for as long as you want. Just make sure to lock the door when you leave," You said briefly and threw your laptop and glasses into your bag.
Before Angel could respond, you were already out the door and halfway down the street.
---
You felt sick running into the large front doors of the VVV tower. The hangover not helping the pit of anxiety running through the course of your entire being.
You made it to your desk seemingly unnoticed. All of the other VoxTek writers had their eyes glued to the screens in front of them. Your eyes scanned the room quickly before deeming yourself as safe.
With a sigh you sank into your office chair and propped your elbows onto the desk. You then buried your head into your hands.
After taking a few moments to regain your sanity, you rubbed your tired eyes before finally putting on your glasses. You pulled out your laptop and began to get to work. All seemed well. You were in the clear!
However that moment of relief was short lived.
"Excuse me Ms. Y/N?" A voice broke you out of your current thought. You looked up from your laptop and instantly felt the urge to vomit. You recognized the sinner as... Vox's assistant.
You hesitated a moment before responding, "Y-Yes?"
"Mr. Vox would like to have a word with you in his office right away," As soon as the words left his mouth, you felt your face pale.
You slowly rose from your seat and wiped your now sweaty palms on your pant legs, "Lead the way," you said quietly motioning for him to walk.
You were ready to be put out of your misery at this point.
You nervously glanced here and there at the cameras that littered every crevice of the tower. You felt your heart thud at an unhealthy pace. The pain in your head never subsided either.
You began trying to think of what you were going to say to him. Your boss, the very man you signed your soul over to.
He could end you in a second.
You couldn't form a single coherent thought, and before you knew it- you were standing in front of his office doors.
Vox's assistant attempted to give you a reassuring smile, but if anything it made you feel ten times worse. You took a shaky breath as he held one of the doors open for you to walk in.
You took unsteady steps into the large room and jumped slightly as you heard the door slam shut behind you.
Right after it closed, a familiar voice rang through your ears.
"Y/N! Just the person I wanted to see..."

A/N: hehe not me giggling and kicking my feet at this. i hope you guys have enjoyed the first two parts so far <3

Also I would like to note that I put Lorum ipsum as my header text when I was initially creating this blog because I thought the cod-Latin would be funny for a medieval lit course. I added the Mankind quote in the description only after I read the play because it was such a good coincidence of humour. Just think of it. The playwright and I nodding sagely to each other from across the centuries because we both find cod-Latin funny. It really warms the heart :)

This is my first finished project (well, mostly, I just have to give it a final edge and then weave my ends in), I found a crochet hook holder a while back and really liked how it looks; it's crazy that I could replicate it, even if it's not technically great. If you don't look too hard or scrutinize it, you might be impressed (so please don't look close)
If you want to watch somebody who's competent in crochet, watch the video where I followed the pattern!

Frostfire!
It's my characters Cahaya and Lian! I just miss them and wanted to do something cool.
ID: a drawing of two girls facing the left, smiling confidently; they're both wearing the typical white and gray Indonesian high school uniforms. The one in the front, Cahaya, has a medium skin tone and dark magenta hair tied into a spiky ponytail, and wears a blue hoodie jacket over her uniform. Her eye is pink with a yellow pupil, and she is holding fire of the same color in one hand. The one in the back, Lian, has medium dark skin, curly long hair going from navy blue to pale blue, and wears a red jacket with gold accents over her shoulders. Her eye is brown with a light blue pupil, and she is summoning ice shards and frost from one hand. End ID.

writing dragon age fanfiction is so so so so hard for me because every time i spot another historical inaccuracy that’s like “i don’t care that it’s fantasy they have the same level of technology this is WRONG” i have to have a moment of like. “kaed NO ONE ELSE will EVER care about this. you watch ‘ranking period dramas on corset accuracy both in construction and writing’ videos on youtube for entertainment normal people simply do not give a FUCK about medieval castle layouts!”
and yet this cycle continues, because the dragon age devs so so so so clearly DID research but they did BAD research and it HAUNTS me. like WHYYYYY is there only one courtyard that isn’t even really a courtyard in castle cousland WHY is the “main hall” huge with no furniture while the great hall “dining room” is tiny as fuck and in a horrible to access spot WHY are there no ovens in the kitchens where the FUCK do they bake the breaaaad!! like ok fine cool servants get beds in thedas i’ll bite. that fucks hard, actually! but WHY are there more servant rooms than rooms for visiting nobles do you honestly think anybody in the middle ages fucking had servant rooms???? they slept on the FLOOR in the GREAT HALL! and WHY is there a fucking library and a ‘treasury’ (which what the fuck is THAT there should be a DON-JON in there you locked your valuables in the TOWER at the TOP, not in ONE room centrally located on the first floor with TWO guards!!) like i KNOW it was for level design i KNOW it was but oh my fucking g-d it’s gonna KILL ME to write out creeping through corridors when there WERE NO CORRIDORS! like look at this. look at this.
Tumblr media
castle cousland: stupid, awful design, honestly they kinda asked to be coup’ed with their garbage unsurvivable castle that supposedly nobody sieges regularly even though it’s literally a death trap. there is ONE main exit, no way to trap your enemies, and only one official guard post that i can see. fuck awful.
Tumblr media
harlech castle in wales: it took 115 years for someone to successfully take this castle, and it’s withstood COUNTLESS sieges, you can go visit it right the hell now if you go to wales (not at all getting into the evilness of the english building castles in wales, that’s not the point i’m trying to make.) see how the outside makes it so that even if your enemies breach the walls, to actually reach anyone important they have to survive the volleys of arrows from the ramparts? and then presumably kill everyone ON the ramparts, or the minute you go to open a door or try to drag someone out, you’re going to get shot full of arrows. that’s after breaching TWO heavy doors (which would require a battering ram both times) which would wake up the entire castle LONG before they got anywhere NEAR the heir to the castle’s wife and child.
and before somebody says “oh well kaed maybe you just don’t know your castle building periods very well” think again. i know my castle building periods. that style above is concentric (harlech castle’s initial construction was finished in 1289 and was one of the first finished castles in england in this style,) which came after the keep and bailey style, which came after the motte-and-bailey style, which came after the burh (which arguably WASN’T a castle but whatever,) etc. there are no fortified castles in english history that look like castle cousland, because it’s fucking indefensible. now, this does lead to the question of “oh, well, what is the timeline for the game, maybe there’s something you missed!” so let’s examine the time period of origins:
at the very, very latest, origins could be based off of the BEGINNING of the british “wars of the roses” (the civil wars between the various members of the house plantagenet) which began in the 1450s— this is personally what /i/ think origins is based off of, for a couple reasons. 1) trevelyan was a real person— g.m. trevelyan was a british historian who wrote about the wars of the roses, and in one instance there’s a quote of his the devs almost verbatim used for the design of the free marches: “the Wars of the Roses were to a large extent a quarrel between Welsh Marcher Lords, who were also great English nobles, closely related to the English throne…” they ixnayed the part about the marcher lords being ferelden nobles, i imagine because it was too complicated, but trevelyan? marcher lords? a close relationship with this country? (i.e. like somewhere that might take in their refugees after a catastrophe?) cmon. 2) because ferelden is fucking huge and the histories are kinda weird, because they aren’t 1 for 1, i’m gonna say that we have to use the norman conquest of england as our unification date. in other contexts i wouldn’t try to argue this, but in this one, i’m saying 1066 is the unification date of the anglo-saxon kingdoms into england. calenhad gives us a hard unification date for ferelden— the first landsmeet was in 5:42 exalted, ergo origins is 388 years later. the wars of the roses started in 1455, 389 years after the norman conquest ended. 3) the wars of the roses happened because of a succession crisis— admittedly, these two succession crises are very, very different, but there are definitely parallels between loghain and henry vi and alistair and edward iv. henry vi was crowned at a young age (loghain largely ruled for maric at various points in his life, starting when he was very young,) and was very ineffectual— he suffered from an unknown mental illness which made him extremely unstable and unable to rule for large periods of time. loghain, on the other hand, ruled when the /theirins/ weren’t stable, so you argue he had the opposite— meanwhile, his policies WEREN’T sustainable, whatever you might think of him. loghain is too shaped by his own experiences to be a truly good leader, and by the time his rule/anora’s rule is threatened by cailan, he’s sacrificed enough of his principles that he’s willing to commit atrocities (notably, margaret of anjou ruled during the worst parts of her husband’s mental instability, which again could apply to loghain OR anora, as they ruled fairly jointly after a certain point.) edward iv was the son of richard of york, who was eligible for the throne at a very young age (18 to alistair’s 19) because his father was dead. he was coaxed and led into battle by his cousin, the earl of warwick (also known as the kingmaker— sound like a protagonist you might know?) that’s about where the similarities end, but that’s largely because alistair is a grey warden— if he weren’t, he’d probably be able to have kids and end the question of succession. but he can’t, which, assuming the devs eventually remember, WILL lead to another civil war. hence why i say this is at the BEGINNING of the wars of the roses.
another option that could be argued but makes much less sense and i have no evidence for is that alistair has similarities to edward ii (second son who only became king because his brother died, married a more powerful woman to consolidate power, not very good at ruling, no offense to alistair,) but that still puts origins at like 1307-1327. in either case, they would have been using concentric castles— and given what time period castle cousland was originally built in, it would have been built as a motte-and-bailey, which would NOT have lasted four hundred years. so the castle had to have been rebuilt, and bryce cousland would have had to update that rebuilt castle, because no one lived in it during the orlesian occupation. so where the hell does this winding, weird multi-level design come from?
i GUESS— and this is SO charitable— they could have designed castle cousland based off of a country house design from the mid 1500s, but none of them look like that, either. they’re exclusively rectangular, for one thing, and one of the huge bragging rights of owning one was that they weren’t fortified— they came into fashion during a period of relative stability under the tudor rule, when it was considered guache and maybe even treasonous to build a fortified castle. ferelden is NOWHERE NEAR a period of stability, if anything at the end of origins they’re entering their greatest period of INstability, given what happens in inquisition, and that no matter who ends up on the throne, there’s no way for them to have children. so there’s NO way this castle is a country house, or inspired by one.
leaving us with the final conclusion that a) the game devs definitely did do research into the time period because i can fairly directly trace a line between the event i think inspired origins and the plot, but they didn’t do enough research to figure out what the everloving fuck the BUILDINGS looked like. so these castles make no fucking sense and can’t possibly be called historically accurate even with the fantasy defense, and b) i care WAAAY too much about this for somebody who isn’t even a medieval historian. my area of expertise is the paleolithic, i have no clue why this bugs me so bad i spent four fucking hours writing this post.
#anyone: so what are you getting up to on spring break? me: uhhhhhhhhhhh *spends four hours writing a bioware calloit post about their#historically inaccurate castles* Normal Things#it took me four hours bc i had to pare it down like 8 times btw. i could have kept going#btw there are image descriptions on the maps#dragon age origins#dragon age#long post#actually i take it back i DO know why it bugs me and it’s because they made this g-dawful design part of the plot on every single occasion#like highever? would never have been sacked if not for this design. redcliffe? whole story is about infiltrating this castle through these#extensive dungeons they never would have fucking built bc there’s no use for them. the palace in denerim (which doesn’t even have a name)#is so so so fucked. we can’t even get into it but i HATE it. denerim is a city small enough that not all the banns arls and teyrns can have#their own estates in the city meaning they would need rooms in the palace dedicated to them. where are those rooms??? if’s tiny as hell. all#they needed to do was to put up some extra wings you can’t go into that’s all they needed. i’m so so so annoyed by this it’s such a pet#peeve of mine. especially since skyhold is SOOOOOO good if’s the pinnacle of dragon age buildings no one else will ever be her#there’s multiple courtyards. there’s a garden. there’s the stables centrally located there are concentric walls there’s that weird palace#thing in the center with the world’s hottest great hall. there’s a FORGE there’s a keep there’s a guest wing there’s a tabern there’s#ANOTHER tower you can build there are sentry posts there’s a gatehouse there’s a bridge no one will ever replace her in my heart i know this#skyhold baby you are so so so sexy and delicious and everything a fantasy castle in a video game should be MWAH

Chapter 11 of Weathered I: MY FRIEND, MY ENEMY is online.
In which the retreat from Genosha brings both some more crucial discoveries and a hint of tension in the team's interpersonal relationships. Also includes Remy bonding with one of his new teammates over masochism in gym training and a much-needed kick in the ass by Marie and Artie.

I'm such a nerd. I'm so into this contemplation of if physics rules exist at all that the books going for now.
Also, in another life (or who knows maybe in 10 years in my own) I could be Wang Miao, which may make his pov hit me more intimately than it ought to. I also did what he did while liking art on the side, I also focused more on practical and problem solving rather than theoretical whys.
Also. I'm very curious of the authors science background.
